Chapter Sixty Seven: Situations [Pt. 5]

[Kari's P.O.V]

I wasn't completely sure what would happen now in truth. Examon was strong but I didn't know what would come with the surprise that the others now had access to Mega Level. Their Mega Levels were a bit surprising slightly. Palmon's Mega Level was fitting since she was plant like so Rosemon which kind of looked like a humanoid rose was both fitting and pretty. Vikemon which was Gomamon's Mega Level was kind of hard to describe. Vikemon kind of reminded me of Ikkakumon but on two feet like Zudomon. Biyomon's Mega Level Hououmon was a massive bird that had four wings that glowed.

"Well, this is certainly getting interesting; Koromon!" Tai's words broke through my thoughts; I can admire and think about the new Mega Levels after the battle.

"Ivy Hug!" Rosemon's attack caused thorny vines to appear and the vines actually managed to slow the shots but it wouldn't stop them.

"That's impressive feat, too bad that it isn't good enough!" Examon screamed the words but he stopped just as he started to laugh.

"Arctic Blizzard!" Vikemon froze the shots solid before smashing them, even after smashing them nothing happened.

"Koromon, Warp Digivolve to WarGreymon!" I was a bit surprised that Koromon could go straight back to WarGreymon but since that happened just as Vikemon had smashed the shells I didn't have time to really ask questions.

"Kari, we should fight to." I looked to Salamon.

Before I could say anything my attention was turned back to Examon. Examon had started to laugh even though we had managed to stop his attacks. I was horrified as the shadow like fake Digimon turned back to shadows and was sucked in by Examon. Examon grew larger slightly and I got a really bad feeling about this.

"I'm sorry Kari." I looked to T.K.; his words had caught me off guard.

"That stuff can wait until this is done T.K.; we need to focus on the battle at hand." I stood up and wiped some more blood away from my eye, it had started to run into my eye.

"I will have fun tearing apart this pitiful group of Digimon!" Examon was laughing and I caught sight of Magnamon shooting through the air quickly.

"Don't underestimate us!" WarGreymon joined Magnamon in his charge at Examon even if it had been Rosemon who had shouted.

"Kari." I looked at Salamon but nodded.

"Why don't we show off what we learned to Salamon?" She nodded, 'Lady' Ophanimon had been good for one thing even though she seemed to try and sabotage me at times.

"Salamon Warp Digivolve to Magnadramon!" That had T.K. and Davis look at me; they were the only two that really seemed surprised.

"Surely you don't think simple because you all have access to Mega scares me?" Examon was laughing and he swatted WarGreymon and Magnamon away almost as if they were nothing.

"I was having fun playing around but I probably should stop playing before I turn out like Belphemon." I gripped my Digivice tighter, I hated the thought that perhaps beating Belphemon was a fluke but I knew that it was a possibility.

"Don't discount our strength." Even Examon was caught off guard, just as Koji spoke the words light rained down upon Examon.

"Light Fall." When had Koji even gotten all the way over there, without anyone noticing?

"Koji, you might want to move!" Takuya's voice came from somewhere that I couldn't see thanks to the dust that was kicked up by Koji's attack.

I saw something flicker through the dust and then the dust was blown away. There was a huge flame tornado that had erupted. Examon had managed to be swallowed whole by the tornado which was scary considering his size. Koji slid backwards as he appeared in front of the group and Takuya jumped back from within the flames.

"We got a problem! That only ticked him off!" Takuya's frenzied shout was only accompanied by the flame tornado being broken.

I say broken because suddenly the flames that had engulfed Examon were now rushing in every direction. Examon rocketed up into the sky and I had no clue what was going to happen now. I braced myself for what would happen but suddenly I was up and off of the ground. I watched from being held by Magnadramon as the others had their own ways of shielding from the attack. Tai got saved from the attack but WarGreymon managing to get his shield up in time while Sora and T.K. had also escaped to the air. Vikemon had managed to freeze the flames that would've hit him, Joe, Mimi, and Rosemon.

"This isn't good at all." The fire was thankfully not spreading somehow yet then I saw within the flames a flickering ball of pale yellow light that contained both of the Wizardmons, Takuya, and Koji; something was leaking from the ball that seemed to be stopping the fire from lighting anything on fire.

"Uh oh, that's not gonna be good either!" I looked at where Sora was pointing, Examon was now rocketing downwards.

"Kari, we need to stop him." I jumped and I looked at Nori.

Nori had appeared out of thin air yet I could feel the heat of something radiating from her. She was staring at Examon as if she knew exactly what was going to happen. When she appeared I realized that I hadn't seen Davis or T.K. so I looked for them quickly but I found him and Magnamon off of the ground as well. T.K. had also escaped into the air via MagnaAngemon.

"Do you know what's going to happen if he hits the ground?" Examon would impact within minutes.

"That attack, it'll leave a hole for at least two miles. It will also start a fire like no other." I gripped Magnadramon's fur tighter.

"It's not a matter of 'need to' then but a matter of 'have to'." Magnadramon sounded troubled.

"Have any ideas as to how to stop him Nori?" She glanced at me and gave a shaky smile.

"Once he's stopped I want you and Magnadramon to hit him with everything you have. Don't hold back because after this is stopped I don't know if the same trick will work twice." I nodded.

"What." I stopped when she vanished and there was a flicker of flames from where she had been for a second before that vanished.

"What just happened?" I stared at where she had been only seconds ago.

"I think they were copies of her somehow!" I was going to look at T.K. but suddenly Magnadramon moved quickly, she had caught Sora when Sora got dropped by Hououmon before Hououmon charged Examon.

"What's going on Sora?" Sora looked a bit disorientated.

"Hououmon is going to work with Vikemon and Rosemon to stop Examon from moving, at least for a couple of seconds." I could hear the sound of Examon cutting the air now.

"Star-Light Explosion!" Due to a sudden current of air the golden dust that came from Hououmon's wings instead of falling downwards was carried upwards at Examon.

The fire that caused the current wasn't Takuya; I knew that since he was still on the ground. Nori was the only other known fire elemental here since Magnamon was also still present. The fire like arrow pulled out of the charge at the last moment but the golden dust was thrown all over Examon, he stopped seconds from striking the ground. There was a hideous wail that wiped through the air, shadows rushed out of Examon's body and he shrunk.

"You'll pay for that, Avalon's Gate!" Examon stabbed at Hououmon with his spear but suddenly Hououmon dropped through the air as Yokomon, saving her from the attack.

"Now!" Nori scoped Yokomon up in her arms and rocketed away, the wings of flames surprised me but I was left wondering if that 'now' was for Magnadramon or not.

"Don't think you people can do anything to me!" Examon was going to grab Nori but was stopped by vines; apparently that must've been Rosemon's que.

"Ivy Hug, Rose Cradle!" Rose petals now swirled around Examon and his hand stopped instead of ripping the vines, he seemed to slow suddenly.

"Arctic Blizzard!" Examon was too slow to react and he was frozen solid.

He was completely still, he wasn't moving and inch and there was no way for him to actually defend himself or counter our attacks. Magnadramon shifted and I knew whatever was about to happen wouldn't be good. I only hoped that what was about to happen would be enough to at least give us a chance to win; Magnadramon wasn't the only about to attack.

"Terra Force/Hallowed Ascension/Fire Tornado!" While the attacks came from WarGreymon and Magnadramon I looked at the source of 'Hallowed Ascension', T.K. was now on the ground once again standing beside a Digimon that I didn't know but could guess at that being Patamon's Mega Form.

"Magna Blaster!" Just as the three attacks hit Examon Magnamon's attack was released that when it crashed in Examon the wings that had stuck out seemed to almost crack.

"Gaia Tornado/Absolute Zero!" Takuya and Koji's combined attack was interesting.

The ice from Vikemon's attack that hadn't broken was melted by Takuya's attack, in which time you heard Examon starting to scream something but then data seemed to start to litter the air when Koji's attack hit. Koji's attack froze Takuya's flame which left an interesting display. Examon was frozen once again and one of his wings was missing. I let out a shaky sigh of relief that we had at least avoided what Nori had warned us about yet when the ice shattered and Examon was free I knew that nothing good would happen now.

"You people are mere pests and pests are exterminated!" He raised the spear and he didn't even waste time with saying anything more, shells came flying at us at such a fast rate that I didn't have time to react.

I screamed when suddenly I was dropped and falling through the air. I saw Gatomon flailing around in the air as she tried to grab my hand as if that could magically stop us both from falling to the ground. I felt sick to my stomach as something foul hung in the air yet the shells seemed to have disappeared. I expected pain but I didn't slam into the ground, something caught me while I saw a familiar cloak grab Gatomon before descending quickly.

"This is quite awkward; we're back to this yet again." We dropped but neither of us was hurt too badly since we only feel a couple feet in the air.

"That's gonna hurt later." Koji groaned and I sat up quickly, too quickly apparently since the world spun.

Koji must've held onto his Spirit Evolution for longer than the others somehow because he had managed to catch me before he lost it. We had crashed back to earth but only from about a five foot drop though Koji probably had the landing worse since I managed to fall on top of him.

"Anti-Digivolution." I muttered it yet I had no clue how I knew that yet I looked up to see why everyone was so silent.

I saw the reason when I looked up. Examon had his spear pointed right at us; a laser was on the brink of being fired. I gulped and quickly glanced around; besides Gatomon everyone was back to In-Training and when I did glance back to Gatomon I found that she was yellow with a purple stripe on her tail. She had gone back to Nyaromon; I guess Gatomon like Koji had a delayed reaction of reverting.

"Any last words?" I looked to Examon.

"This can't be how it ends." We managed to beat Belphemon and Examon couldn't be this much stronger than Belphemon, could he?

"DigiDestined aren't to be underestimated, sometimes these plots can be seen through." I looked to the second Wizardmon, the one that wasn't the one I had known years ago.

"Now isn't the time to be saying things like that." That Wizardmon laughed before Wizardmon seemed to flicker away into flames, Nori stood there and she looked frail suddenly.

"DigiDestined of Illusions shouldn't be looked down on." Nori fell forwards as she passed out.

I was knocked off of my feet the second she started to fall because there was such a sudden gust of wind that even caused the wind to howl, no there was something that I hadn't seen. I knew that because through the dust that was kicked up I saw Examon pretty much get thrown into the sky, as if something had head-butted him and was dragging him through the air. I could see the shadow of something actually dragging him upwards after a few seconds but I couldn't make out what it was.
