Sara didn't sleep much last night. She couldn't stop thinking about her date with Kylee. What was she going to wear? Where were they going to go? What happens if things get heated again?
"Hello? Sara?" Her younger sister Laurel interrupted her thoughts.
"What? I'm sorry. I didn't sleep much."
"I can tell. Is something wrong?"
Sara looked at her younger sister for a moment. Should I tell her she thought. No that would ruin Kylee's relationships with the team in Star City. "Uh…. No. Just didn't sleep too great. Kylee's couch isn't the comfiest thing in the world."
"Oh. I didn't realized you stayed over last night."
Sara froze. Shit she thought. "It was late and you know…"
"You don't have to explain it to me. She is your best friend. I just would have suggested we hang out later today if I had known."
"Oh…. No it is okay. Ky was still sleeping when I left anyway. It really isn't a problem. I needed to go."
"Needed to? Are you and Kylee fighting or something?"
Shit not again. "No… Just… it's nothing."
"Obviously not… Sara what has got you so worked up?"
"It's nothing okay" Sara had said this very angrily and was almost yelling. "I'm sorry. I've got to go." Sara turned and ran almost knocking over the table.
Once she was far enough away, Sara stopped. She turned into an alley and did something she hadn't done since she was on Lian Yu. She cried. What had just happened with Laurel made her realize something. Her and Kylee could never work out. This was going to happen too often and Kylee deserved way better than Sara.
Sara needed to talk to Kylee, but she didn't want to wake her up. So Sara decided she would go back to Kylee's and make her breakfast.
Sara went to the store and bought all of Kylee's favorite. Once she returned to Kylee's, she ran upstairs to make sure she was still asleep. Sara peeked her head in the door and there she was. She hadn't changed after last night so she was still in the skimpy dress. Sara giggled. Watching Kylee sleep was peaceful. Sara was fighting every urge in her body to climb in bed and cuddle with her. She wanted to hold her and just pretend like the rest of the world did not exist. She wanted to wrap her arms around the archer's small frame and smell her heavenly perfume.
"Shit" Sara uttered. She should not be thinking like that. That is only going to make things harder. I can't keep doing this to myself she thought. She closed the door and ran downstairs. She started breakfast.
About 20 minutes later, a very sleepy Kylee came down the stairs. She had changed. She was wearing a pair of Star Labs sweatpants that were obviously not hers. And she had put on Ray's Palmer Tech sweatshirt that he gave her before they left on the Wave Rider. She had brushed her hair but it still had limp curls. She yawned and rubbed her eyes.
Damn she is cute Sara thought. Ugh not again! "Morning sleepy head."
"Morning" Kylee said groggily. "What are you doing?"
"Making breakfast!"
"Why? I thought you were going out with Laurel for breakfast."
"I did. Something happened and I came home."
"Something happened? You okay? Is she okay?"
"It is nothing Ky. Just got into a bit of an argument. You know how that goes. I couldn't imagine what life must be like for you and Thea. Oliver is a nightmare."
"He isn't that bad. You and him just have different opinions. And are very strong headed in those opinions. Barry doesn't see eye-to-eye with Oli either."
"Are you comparing me to that lanky police assistant you are so fond of?"
"His name is Barry. And he is a CSI tech" Kylee said obviously irritated.
"Whoa. Sorry. I'm not from here remember?"
"Neither am I remember?"
"What is with you?"
"I don't know. I'm not hungry and I am supposed to go meet Barry for coffee."
"Got a date today do you?"
Kylee turned and glared at Sara. What the heck is her issue this morning?
"Calm down Kylee. Have fun. I'll text you later."
