Why did I do this? Sara thought to herself as she sat alone at the table. Kylee cancelled why the fuck am I here? Sara sighed as she stared across the table. She stared at the empty chair. She wasn't paying much attention apparently.

"Hey." A familiar voice rung in her ears. She shot up. And there she was. Standing in front of her all dressed up. She smiled. She came.

"Hey Sar" Kylee rang.

"Hey."

"You know Laurel has been looking for you?"

"Yeah. I'm not really in the mood to talk to her."
"Oh. Well, mind if I join you?"

"Not at all. Please do." Sara smiled.

Kylee giggled. She knew Sara was nervous now.

They both sat down and Sara stared at Kylee.

"What?"

"Nothing. Just trying to figure out why you decided to come."

"We agreed we would go to dinner tonight."

"You also said we would reschedule."

"And you are a terrible listener."

They laughed. This was nice Sara thought. I guess it was a good thing that she was hopelessly in love with her younger best friend. If she would have listened, they wouldn't be here.

"So….. is this a date?" Sara questioned then quickly realized she had talked without thinking.

"Of course." Kylee said calmly and she smiled.

"Oh." Sara was shocked she had not expected that.

"What? Do you not want it to be?"

"No. No. No. I want this to be a date. I am crazy about you Ky." Oh boy Sara thought. I can't stop myself. Kylee giggled again. "Damn you are cute." Shit! Kylee blushed. The waiter came and took their order with a rather judging look.

Not this again. The feeling she had had this morning when she was with Laurel returned. I can't do this to her. She doesn't deserve those looks. Oh god her coworkers would be horrible.

"Sar, is everything okay?"

Sara sat for a moment. "Not really. I am scared about what everyone is going to think. Especially of you. You can't just pick up and leave like I can."

"Sara. I don't care what anyone else thinks. Right now I am just trying to figure out what I think." She paused. "Sara, I don't know what I feel about you or Barry anymore. I thought I did. But I don't know."

"It is okay Ky. I was expecting to get rejected so anything is better than that. You are giving me a chance. You are giving yourself a chance to find happiness. I care about you a lot and if Barry does as badly as Oliver seems to think he does, then we can both wait until you can make up your mind."

Kylee smiled and sighed.

"What?"

"Nothing. Just happy."

Sara smiled. The waiter brought back their food. They enjoyed the rest of dinner talking and laughing. They were about half way home when something happened.

There was a noise down an alley. Kylee stopped Sara and un-holstered her gun. Typical cop Sara thought. Kylee turned on the light on her gun and proceeded down the alley. Then she heard it.

Shouting and then two shots were fired. Whoever it was ran off as soon as it happened. Kylee had been shot. Sara panicked and pushed the SOS button on Ky's wrist. Barry could help. Not a second passed and Barry was there.
