"Say aaaaaaah!"

Benefit and downsides.

Naruto had the absolute shit kicked out of him, his right arm was in terrible condition and was put in a sling. His arm wasn't broken thankfully, but he wasn't allowed to use it for a few days as the sprain healed. He had his eye bandaged and patched up, so he wouldn't open it and put any stress on it, so his depth perception hit an all time low. His legs took absolutely no damage at all, and his internal organs were a-okay despite the hits to the stomach that he had taken. His left hand had re-opened the wounds that it had gotten, so he had to bandage that up, and he suffered from enough head trauma that the doctors told his family to keep a constant watch on him for about 24 hours.

Those were the downsides of his acts of heroism.

"I'm sorry Naruto... I couldn't do anything." Rito apologized to Naruto from across the dinner table. They were actually eating at the table tonight instead of eating in the living room while watching TV, what they usually did. Rito had been unable to do anything, not that Naruto would have let him help anyway.

Naruto had Lala feeding him, originally Mikan usually fed him when he got himself in a lot of danger and ended up hurt. This was not the first time that he had been in this bad of a state, though honestly it had been awhile since he had been hurt this bad. He would heal up and his body would become tougher as a result of this though.

"No problem, in the end everyone is okay-"

"Except you." Mikan kicked Naruto from under the table. He should not be acting like everyone was okay, when he was the person who got hurt more than anyone else.

Naruto grinned.

"My entire body is numb from pain killers, I barely even felt that." Naruto commented to her, and she kicked him again, but even harder this time. Still no flinch, so she sighed and just sipped out some of her soup.

After Lala sipped from her own spoon, she took some from his bowl and reached out to feed him with it. She smiled gracefully at Naruto, proud of him for his acts of heroism, and the fact that he got Zastin's support for their marraige was a big plus. Nobody was better to deliver the news that she picked a man to her father than Zastin, who could speak somewhat freely with her father at the drop of a hat.

Naruto's mind was a little fuzzy, but sharing a spoon with Lala should be embarassing for him, right?

The meds made him really drowzy, he would think about this later.

"You were so cool, but you really need to take better care of yourself. I would have been happy to help you out, oh, how about I help out next time and protect you so you don't get hurt?" Lala asked Naruto as she continued to switch between feeding him and herself. "Earthling food is amazing!" Lala spoke with a wide smile, her cheeks flushing as the blood rushed to them.

She loved good food.

Mikan and Rito both saw Naruto's smile become extremely strained when Lala said those words to him. She had no way of knowing the information, but it was surprising for both of the Yuuki siblings when Naruto kept his mouth shut instead of snapping at Lala for her choice of words.

"I... ah..." Naruto struggled with his words for a second.

"So! Sairenji-chan and I are going to go on a date this Sunday... I was thinking something simple, like a movie and fast food so we could focus on talking to each other." Rito had red cheeks when he stated his plans. It would be his first date with his GIRLFRIEND, and not just going out with Naruto and Mikan to do family things. He never really went out with friends much anyway, but this was a situation where he would be able to go on a date with his long time crush turned girlfriend.

"Not during the movie though, right?" Mikan asked as she looked at Rito sharply.

She hated when people talked during movies.

"A date?" Lala asked, since that was a new term to her. Well, not completely at least, but she wanted to know what was so special about this that had Rito turning red in the face over it. She had a growing smile of curiousity over her face that she didn't hide.

Rito was more than happy to explain.

"Well, it's what couples like me and my girlfriend do-" Rito stated, and he felt the need to mention that, yes, he did indeed have a girlfriend. Everyone but Lala rolled their eyes at him, and Mikan almost pointed out that Rito would still be single if Naruto had not run major interference for him.

Naruto put in a LOT of thankless work for Rito, that he didn't even know about, to make sure that his brother would have a chance to honestly confess to the girl he liked.

"Oh, that sounds FUN! Naruto, we need to do that Sunday too! I want to see a movie and get fast food, whatever that is! Can we, can we?" Lala asked Naruto, and Naruto sunk in on himself for a moment. He had been avoiding that for the most part, since he didn't know what he should do for a date that would make it special for Lala.

Rito spoke up.

"That sounds like a great idea for a double date! We're going to see that new ghost horror movie, and Naruto just loves ghost movies-"

"Actually! Actually, actually! Lala, I would LOVE to go on a date with you, how about we get you some Earth clothes so that Peke can catch a break sometimes! It's always good to have some back up clothes!" Naruto spoke over Rito so that Lala didn't hear those last words. Naruto saw the smirk on Rito's face.

Rito was good with scary movie stuff.

Naruto was not good with that type of stuff, point a knife at his face and he was fine, but so help him if you showed him a horror ghost movie and he would scream like a little girl or pass out. He had a rule, and that rule was-

"Seriously, when are you going to get over that stupid fear of-"

"It is NOT a stupid fear! It is a justified fear! You can NOT punch ghosts, and if you can't punch them, they can curse you! A stupid fear is being afraid of needles or fights, but not ghosts! Do you know how many ways a ghost can hurt you... a TON! Do you know how many ways YOU can hurt a ghost!?" Naruto went on a tirade against Mikan in what was a rather usual family argument. Naruto put his hands up in a zero, and the siblings rolled their eyes.

Naruto refused to admit that his fear was stupid.

"Heheheh." Lala just giggled cutely at the antics, finding it funny. She was going to prank Naruto using this for sure, and she would have so much fun seeing his reaction. "Sounds fun though, getting Earth clothes. Peke would appreciate it for sure, though your clothes are comfy." Lala stated as she looked at the shirt she was wearing. Naruto's shirt was loose around her body, and it was barely long enough to keep her decent. So she was also wearing some of his boxers, which she found super comfy as well.

His clothes smelled like him, an added bonus.

"Then what?" Mikan asked teasingly, since just clothes shopping wouldn't be great for a first date.

Don't get her wrong, she wanted the date to go bad, but DID want Naruto to be happy as well. She wanted Lala and Naruto not to be together, but she didn't want the times they spent together to be unhappy either.

"There is even more? That sounds amazing!" Lala was even more excited.

"... Then we visit a great bakery, one that serves bread that Mikan just loves." Naruto stated as he looked directly at Mikan. Her jaw dropped, since that tone implied that Naruto was not going to get her anything. "What was it called... Patisserie Stray Cat's?" Naruto asked Mikan with a wicked grin.

"I love that place! It's true, they have awesome cake. You're going to bring some back for me, right?" Mikan tried to act cute near the end.

Naruto's wicked smile became even more so.

"Oh-"

"SURE! We can pick you up some, I've never had Earth cake before. I'm really looking forward to Sunday." Lala stated as she and Naruto finished eating after everyone else. Naruto wasn't smiling a wicked smile, and Mikan seemed a little miffed that it was by Lala's grace that she was going to get her favorite cake. "Oh wait... shouldn't we wait until you're all better?" Lala asked as she looked at Naruto's injuries.

Naruto blinked.

"Oh, he'll be fine in a couple of days. He has always recovered from getting hurt really fast, unless his bones are broken in which case... what... like two weeks?" Rito asked Naruto, since his broken bones healed pretty fast too.

Naruto shrugged his shoulders.

"As long as I take it easy, I'll be better by the time we have our first date." Naruto stated to her, and Lala's tail showed all that needed to be said.

Lala was so very much looking forward to the date.
