"I told you, it was suicide. You're fucking wasting your time, Juvia. If you'd just let me help, it'd be over." Gajeel, her thief friend, grumbled over the phone.
"Even with the two of us, it'd take us at least three hours to kill that thing and you wouldn't make it to your part time job. Our schedules doesn't match and I don't want you losing your job just because you were playing a silly game with me." she replied as she washed the potatoes in the sink. She wanted to make some homemade fries as a snack when she binge-game later.
Juvia couldn't see her friend but she knew he rolled his eyes. "Oh come on, what silly game? You're earning from that and the least I could do is help you."
She smiled. "Thank you. I know you're worried that I haven't been sleeping well but trust me I have a plan in mind. Tonight, I'd kill that thing and the best thing you can do for me is watch my livestream. Your views would earn me some bucks."
"You crazy wench."
Juvia put the phone down when he finally relented. But before he said goodbye though, he theatened her that if she still fails tonight, he'd help her so she could finally have some good rest.
It was only a month ago when Fairies and Dragons, an mmorpg game, was released. As a certified gamer, Juvia wouldn't pass up the chance to play it. The game was produced by Dreyar Corp., a company she was familiar with. Having played lots of their games, Juvia knew she wouldn't be disappointed.
The world of Fairies and Dragons were broad but players could only choose human as their race. It received a lot of criticisms but they soon died down with the introduction of classes. There were three main classes: Slayer, Elementalist and Celestial. It was not the usual classes that players were familiar with and it piqued everyone's curiousity.
Under Elementalist, you could choose your element from Fire, Water, Air and Wind and the spells depend on the sub class you chose. There were four sub classes under Elementalist: fighter, healer, magician and thief. She wasn't sure if it was the same with other classes since she haven't bothered researching, her focus was on grinding and levelling up.
Good thing was, INT wasn't included to the list of attributes in this game so players only have to put points for the sub classes they chose. The bad thing was, there was called "mana training" in this game to increase their magical prowess. Players had to go through the training hall for that, quite a pain right?
It was interesting though because it was different.
After cooking her fries, Juvia sat in front of her computer. She turned it on and waited. She would definitely succeed in killing the Orc King this time. It wasn't guaranteed that it would drop the dragon's tear the first time she killed it. But if she managed to, it would be easier the next time.
While others were already level 20, Juvia hovered in level 12. She had really lost a lot of days and now she was far behind. It didn't matter, since she really need to craft her defense bracelette if she wanted to deal with monsters with higher levels than her. Maybe, once she killed that thing, she'd catch up to the others. The Orc King was level 20.
Ever since Juvia started playing, she had always been alone. The only one who she was willing to make a party with was Gajeel. It better stayed that way because she wasn't willing to share the loots or experience points to anyone other than him. She had enough of guilds or parties from other games before. She wouldn't be a fool this time.
