Lucy and Natsu-Chapter 2
Lucy grew bored as she watched Natsu stuff his face like crazy and rolled her eyes as he continued eating. She sighed with distress as she wondered if he would ever truly notice her. She glanced over to see where Wendy was and noticed that her along with the Exceeds were gone. Hmm, when did they leave, she wondered as she laid her hand on her fist, her eyes traveling back to the now blond Dragon Slayer. Handsome. He was incredibly handsome in his tailored suit showing off his muscles. Sexy. The dark eyes and the fit body drew the eye to the sexy dragon slayer and although she was jealous, she wasn't surprised that other women were watching him. She sighed with resonation that she had been in love with him for longer than she wanted to admit.
"A pretty lady shouldn't sit by herself. Would you care to dance?" Lucy glanced up at the young man offering his hand. He wasn't anything special, dark brown hair hung down around his face, his hair ending around the nape of his neck and dark green eyes. Although he smiled at her, she felt a chill race down her spine since it didn't reach his eyes and his eyes were cold like emeralds. Her instincts warned her that she might be in trouble but she figured it might be worth it. Maybe this was the person they were looking for so she forced a smile.
"Of course." She said as she placed a hand in his and he pulled her to him as they went out on the dance floor. She tried to suppress a shiver and to follow his movements. As they spun on the dance floor she noticed that Gray had moved so he was watching from one side and as she was spun around her eyes clashed with Natsu's and butterflies erupted in her stomach. He looked angry. His jaw was clenched and his hands were curled into fists as his eyes tracked her movements across the dance floor.
Natsu hated it. He wasn't sure when or why his feelings were changing regarding Lucy but as he watched her moving across the dance floor with some random guy, jealousy burned in his heart. He knew he was attracted to her almost immediately and quickly he became protective of the Celestial wizard. The blond bombshell seemed to always get into trouble in one way or another but she was so much stronger than she used to be. He hated leaving her for a year but he figured she would be too distracting and truth be told he left so he could sort out his feelings for her as well as to become stronger to make sure he could protect her.
As she spun around with the other man, he noticed that she was tense so his dark eyes moved to the man she was dancing with in order to assess him. If she was dancing with him, it was for a reason then instead of just boredom. The dark brown hair man with green eyes wasn't anything special to look at but something about him roused Natsu's instincts. The dance finished and she curtsied and moved towards Gray since he was closer and the man smiled and moved towards the refreshments. The man gathered some food then moved off to watch the dancers and something about him told Natsu that the other man was not the person they were hunting.
His dark eyes moved towards Lucy who was talking to Juvia and Gray across the dance floor. Juvia had a hand on Gray who in turn had an arm wrapped around her. Although, Gray had a blush on his cheeks, he seemed more relaxed and accepting of her attentions. Was Natsu the only one who was holding back? He growled with frustration as he tried to think of someone to talk too. Jellal. They were going to Erza's room, maybe he would be allowed to talk to Jellal for a few minutes. Moving across the ballroom, he approached the three wizards.
"Hey Fire Brain." Gray said without any rancor. Gray had changed a lot towards the pyro and he had already decided that he ensure their safety by making sure they made it to Erza's and their hotel.
"Ice cube." Natsu responded softly.
Gray frowned as he looked over the fire dragon slayer who had moved closer to Lucy. His emotions were off. He was more serious than he had been in awhile and it was obvious he was upset about something.
"Hey man, are you alright?"
Natsu glanced up at the question and gave Gray a slight smile that looked more like him self. "Of course I am." He glanced over at the beautiful woman beside him who was looking to the side. "Are you ready to head over to Erza's hotel."
Lucy could almost sense the turmoil going on in Natsu's heart but she had no idea was causing it. He seemed tense but his smile to Gray looked almost like himself.
They made their excuses and left. Lucy felt her heart pound in her chest as he draped his arm around her, pulling him closer to him. She glanced up at him and he gave her his classic smile that had her knees melting and her blood burning pooling in her core. She inhaled sharply, aware that he could probably hear her heart due to his enhanced capabilities. She tried to tell herself that he did it on purpose since they were supposed to look like a couple but she wondered if that was still the case especially since the hunter might know they are in town.
Making their way to Erza's hotel was quiet without any danger but Natsu's arm remained around her the whole time. Lucy loved his heat and he had a way of making her feel warm and safe. Her heart pounded in her chest the whole time and she wrapped her own arm around his waist. Arriving to the hotel and to Erza's and Jella's door, his heart rate increased as he raised his hand and knocked on the door. He breathed a sigh of relief as Jellal opened the door. Lucy walked in but Natsu remained on the threshold.
"Jellal..uhh could I speak to you to for a second?"
Jellal's chocolate brown eyes widen for a second before stepping out in the hallway and moving away from the door to follow Natsu. The younger man seemed uncomfortable and shy but Jellal guessed quickly what was going on with him.
Natsu blushed slightly as he glanced at the older man. "How…do you know if you're in love?"
Jellal blushed slightly as well as this was something he was questioning and wondering himself.
"I..am guessing you are talking about Lucy." Jellal said quickly as he met the younger man's dark eyes. They widened slightly and the blush darkened. He looked down and looked unsure of what to say or do.
" Only you know how you feel, but I suggest that you talk to Lucy about it." The onyx eyes raised and met and were held by the dark brown eyes of the blue haired mage.
"What if I lose her?"
Jellal ran a hand through his hair for this was the same argument that he kept having with himself regarding a certain crimson hair warrior.
"You may her lose her either way. If she loves you and thinks you are indifferent to her than she may grow to resent you or she might move on and find someone else. The best advice I can give you is to speak to Lucy."
Natsu nodded his eyes hardening as he lifted his chin with determination. He will speak to Lucy about his feelings then and hopefully he won't lose his best friend forever. As Jellal mentioned he may lose her regardless but he really didn't think she loved him the same way but maybe it was better to put everything out there.
"Oh yeah, have you done so with Erza?" the now blond inquired wondering with a smirk on his handsome face. Red flushed across Jellal's cheeks as he coughed and turned to the side.
"Umm well, I haven't found the best time to speak to her about it." He said opting not to include that they had been alone for the past two hours waiting for the other wizards. Instead they had cuddled, kissed a little bit and talked about other things. Natsu's eyebrow arched obviously with the unspoken question and Jellal felt his cheek`s flame more.
"Well take your own advice and talk to her." Natsu said quietly as he slapped his hand on the other man's shoulder.
He shook his head silently, as his eyes fell to the floor. "It's not the same, I'm not worthy of her." He whispered forgetting about the dragon slayer's hearing.
"Of course you are." He said with a laugh as he slapped him on the shoulder. Jellal's head snapped up as he glanced at the young man in surprise. Many people thought that Natsu was oblivious but he kept a sharp eye on his friends. Maybe he had difficulty with his own feelings but he definitely knew about how other people felt.
Jellal nodded and after a few more words they moved back towards the door. After remaining inside for a bit, it was decided that it would be best for Natsu and Lucy to head back to their hotel room. As he went to leave, he glanced at the window.
"Maybe we should change rooms." Lucy said as she noticed Natsu's eyes moving to the window. If the shooter knew where they were and the positions of the beds, he could possibly try to kill them at night. They decided that it was the best course of action to ensure they were not hurt. They were going to keep the blinds opened for a bit, continue to act like a couple just in case the shooter didn't know who they were, then close them, ask to move rooms and keep the blinds closed after they moved.
Returning to their hotel room, Natsu suddenly felt overwhelmingly shy as he closed the door. His conversation with Jellal ran through his head as he moved over to the window. She wandered over to him and stood beside him, looking out at the beautiful city.
"Do you think he knows who we are?" Lucy asked as the silence continued.
"I-I don't know" Natsu answered as his eyes went to her. She really was beautiful with chocolate brown eyes, long luscious blond hair, large perky breasts and a curvy figure.
"Lucy…" He started but fell quiet as once again he wondered what to say as he felt a slight blush darken his cheeks.
Lucy glanced at him but when he went quiet, she smiled slightly to herself as she wondered what he was going to say. The lights of the city spoke to her soul as the memory of her finding Natsu a year after he disappeared flashed through her mind and settled in her heart.
"I love Crocus," Lucy said after a minute as the silence wore on. Her eyes wandered back to him. He smiled at her but his heart beat in his throat and he couldn't think of a response.
"You left and I ended up finding myself here where I found you a year later." She continued as her eyes went to the surrounding area.
"Lucy, I.." Natsu began but fell quiet as her eyes flashed to his.
"You left Natsu!" The anger that she tried to hide along with feeling of betrayal and the hurt rose up inside of her again as she faced him. "Then you almost died! I could see it, the pieces of your code slowly disappearing." She said, slightly under yelling, as the pain from that day once again rose inside of her. She wanted to be with him and the fact that he almost died shook her to her core. She never spoke to him about it but her control over her emotions was starting to fray.
Natsu reached out and gently touched her shoulder as he smiled her. "Let's go to the hot tub."
"W-what."
"Come on! What are you waiting for?" He asked as he grabbed his trunks and went into the bathroom to change. She seemed so upset that he wanted to take her somewhere that would help to relax her. After he changed, he walked out and saw that Lucy had changed into her bathing suit and she was in better spirits. Walking down to the hot tub, he breathed a sigh in relief when he realized they were alone. The room was large with several different hot tubs, giving off a feeling of relaxation and calm. Moving to sit inside one of them, he smiled slightly as he saw Lucy get in as well and she sighed as her body relaxed.
"Lucy...I'm sorry."
Her chocolate brown eyes moved to his face as he stared down into the water.
"It's okay. I shouldn't have brought it back up. Do you know why I joined Sorcerer Weekly?"
"You always wanted to be a writer." Natsu responded.
She felt the flush rise to her cheeks as she stared at him wondering if she could or should tell him. After a moment, she decided that she wanted too so she shook her head no.
"It was so I could keep track of the others and so I could try to find you."
She glanced up and her eyes were stuck with the onyx eyes staring at her across the water.
"Do you know why I became E-N-D?"
Lucy shook her head no.
"I thought you were dead. The grief and rage overwhelmed me." Natsu said quietly as her eyes widened.
"You..thought I was dead and you were so upset that you became E-N-D?" She asked in a whisper.
Natsu smiled slightly to himself before smiling big for her. "Yeah, crazy right."
"Yeah…crazy." Lucy said with a smile on her face. Her heart felt lighter then it had felt in awhile. Knowing Natsu was so overcome by emotions at the thought of her death showed how much he cared about her.
They sat in the hot tub for a while speaking of good times, friends, foods but the whole time, Natsu felt uneasy. He knew he needs to speak to her about something deeper but he was afraid to. He hated being afraid, it caused him to be uncertain and he hated that even more. He was never the type to back away from a fight. After enjoying the hot tub, they returned to their room, packed their suitcases and moved to another room.
After finishing unpacking, Lucy stretched and moved into the bathroom in order to get ready for bed. After brushing her teeth, she glanced at herself in the mirror. Her heart was pounded as she thought about climbing into bed with Natsu. It's not like it's the first time they slept next to each other but it felt different, Natsu was acting different and there was no Happy. She smiled slightly to herself until she opened the door and Natsu was standing on the other side.
"Lucy." He growled as he stared down into her eyes.
"Na..Natsu…did you uh need something?" She squeaked as he took a step closer to her. His onyx eyes were fierce as he stared at her, she could feel his heat as he came closer. Holding her ground, she raised her face slightly as he took another step closer. Her heart started hammering even more forcefully as he reached out and wrapped his arms around his waist, bringing her closer to him.
"Natsu." She whispered as she saw the fierce look in his eyes and the hidden passion present inside of her rose to match his. She raised her face as she felt his hand come up to gently touch her cheek, which was at odds with the strength that secretly gave her a thrill. Natsu was so strong that it was known that it was only a matter of time until he became a wizard saint but he touched her with almost a type of reverence. Her own hands gently reach around his back and pull him closer to her.
"Lucy." He said a second before his lips came down to claim hers. Liquid fire poured in his veins as he felt her grip him tighter and respond to his kiss. After a moment, her hands came up wrap around his neck, as he moved his hands to her thighs and picked her up effortlessly. She wrapped her legs around his waist as her hands buried themselves in his blond hair. He carried her to the bed, laid her down on the soft sheets and followed her down. His eyes opened in surprise as he felt her reach up to grip his hair tighter pulling him even closer to her. Desire and fire overflowed him and now that he started, he would not stop.
Lucy could not believe that finally Natsu was on top of her kissing her passionately. She wasn't sure what caused him to start this but she was happy for it. He learned quickly and was kissing her passionately as though she was about to disappear. She gasped and started trembling with desire as his tongue found its way into her mouth and he started claiming her mouth with his. She opened her mouth wider and responded with her tongue as the battle started for dominance. Gripping his hair harder, she pulled him even closer since now that her dreams were coming true, she wasn't about to let it stop.
