"Your Grace —

Forgive my late reply. You already know I am a poor correspondent, so I'm sure it comes as no surprise. As I am currently writing this letter from my bed under the watchful eyes of your protege, now seems as good a time as any to update you on Kyoko Mogami's performance so far.

You seem to have outdone your own record for cryptic riddles with your letter of introduction, by the way. I was convinced that you were playing some kind of prank, but Kyoko quickly corrected my assumptions about her abilities. I made the mistake of telling my secretary about our first encounter, and apparently Yashiro found it amusing enough to break his perfect track record of discretion. I am sure you have heard some version of the story, no doubt blown wildly out of proportion — she did not challenge me to a duel, although this seems to be the most popular version of the rumor. I hope you're pleased with yourself, old man.

I can confidently say that she surpasses all of your lofty claims. I have never met someone with such a zealous attitude towards their duties as Mogami. Although it makes me wonder: what on earth goes on at that school of yours? It's strange to think that I've never asked you over the years. Or perhaps I have, and you have never satisfactorily answered. The little information I have gathered so far paints a baffling picture. I have recently had the

dubious pleasure of tasting a so-called 'health drink' made by Mogami (she assured me it was an Academy staple). Just thinking about the taste makes my stomach convulse, even days later. If anyone else had brought it, I would accuse them of trying to poison me.

When I questioned her methods, she assured me that the Academy uses only 'the most advanced medical techniques,' but knowing you I feel certain there should be an 'experimental' added. Needless to say, we had a chat about cures for the common cold and Kyoko was surprised that most doctors do not advocate for a patient with a fever to go running in the rain.

What does LME stand for, anyways? You can answer that question, at least.

My father hopes to see you for the Winter Solstice, and I add my hopes that you will join us and grace the court with your presence for enough time for me to find at least some answers.
