Coraline 2: The Nightmare Before Christmas
Chapter 8: Christmas Eve Shenanigans; Shot Out of the Sky
Back at Halloweentown, Sally was getting ready to pour fog juice into the fountain.
"Well.., here goes nothing.", Coraline spoke before Sally poured it into the fountain just as Jack appeared from his coffin, making the resident monsters give their applause.
"Think of us as you soar triumphantly through the sky outshining every star. Your silhouette, a dark blot on the moon, you who are our pride,you who are our glory, you who have frightened billions into an early grave.", the mayor spoke as Coraline then turned to the cat and Wybie.
"All according to plan.", Coraline whispered as the fog started to get worse.
"You who have eh, devastated the souls of the living...", the Mayor spoke.
"Oh, no! We can't take off in this! The reindeer can't see an inch in front of their noses.", Jack spoke in worry.
"Whew!", Sally sighed, wiping her head.
"This fog's as thick as, as...", the vampire spoke.
"Jelly brains.", the cyclops spoke.
"Thicker!", another added.
"There go all of my hopes, my precious plans, my glorious dreams.", jack spoke sadly before a kid cried.
"There goes Christmas.", the kid cried.
"I actually feel kinda bad for him.", Wybie spoke.
"Me, too. But it had to be done. Who knows what would happen if Jack takes over for Santa?", Coraline asked before Zero barked to Jack as his nose glowed brightly.
"No, Zero, down boy.", Jack spoke sadly before realizing how bright Zero's nose is.
"My, what a brilliant nose you have. The better to light my way!", Jack grinned.
"Drat! We totally forgot about the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer power play!", Coraline exclaimed as she snapped her fingers.
"To the head of the team, Zero!", jack spoke before Zero went in front of the other Skeleton Reindeer.
"Hurry! We're gonna lose him!", Coraline exclaimed as she picked up the cat and ran over to the sleigh with Wybie following her.
"We're off!", Jack shouted before whipping the skeleton reindeer once, getting them to move up the ramp.
"Wait! Jack, no!", Sally shouted as Coraline and Wybie tried to get to the sleigh.
"No!", Coraline shouted before she jumped into the back of the sleigh, inside a bag of presents just as the sleigh took off, puzzling the monsters.
"Hold on a minute. Is that Ms. Coraline Jones?", the Harlequin demon asked.
"Maybe she wants to help him.", the werewolf guessed.
The beast had no idea how right he was as Coraline popped out the bag and shouted to Wybie.
"Wybie!", Coraline shouted.
"You can do it, Coraline!", Wybie shouted as the sleigh flew into the air.
"All right.", Coraline nodded as finally, Jack was off!
"Ho ho ho ha ha ha ha ho!", Jack cheered as he whipped the reindeer again before eventually, the citizens went elsewhere.
"Be careful, Coraline.", Wybie spoke in slight worry.
"Good bye, Jack. My dearest Jack. Oh, how I hope my premonition is wrong.", Sally spoke worriedly.
"Premoniton? What do you mean?", Wybie puzzled before, as she (and eventually Wybie) sang, the two went outside the town and got to pet another black cat before it showed the musicians finishing the song as it ended.
Sally: I sense there's something in the wind
That feels like tragedy's at hand
And though I'd like to stand by him
Can't shake this feeling that I have
The worst is just around the bend
And does he notice my feelings for him?
And will he see how much he means to me?
Wybie: I think it's bound to be
Sally: What will become of my dear friend?
Where will his actions lead us then?
Wybie: Though I'd like to join the crowd
In their enthusiastic cloud
For Coraline, it might last
Sally: And will we ever end up together?
Wybie: Well, I know not, but it might just become
Wybie & Sally: You just might be the one (Am I really the one?)
Meanwhile, Jack was whipping the reindeer and enjoying his new role when Coraline popped out of the bag.
"Jack, stop!", Coraline shouted.
"Coraline? What are you doing here?", Jack asked.
"Listen. I came here to warn you! If you go through with this, something terrible is gonna happen! I don't know what, but...", Coraline began just as Jack saw a house up ahead.
"Oh. Can't talk now, Coraline. I've got a present to deliver. In the meantime, just hang on.", Jack urged before he then used the reins on the reindeer to go down, prompting Coraline to duck back in the bag as she gasped.
"Ho ho ho ho ho ho ho! He he he he he!", Jack laughed before he landed loudly, knocking one of the angels off, and waking up the little kid.
"Santa!", the kid spoke in excitement.
Meanwhile, Jack got out the bag.
"Jack, you have to listen! What you're doing isn't...", Coraline began before Jack only got in through the chimney, making her groan, before the little boy ran downstairs and saw not Santa, but in his stead, Jack.
"Santa?", the boy asked.
"Merry Christmas! And what is your name?", Jack asked, puzzling the child.
"That's all right. I have a special present for you anyway. There you go, sonny.", Jack responded before going back up the chimney as the boy opened his present, only to find it wasn't the one he had in mind.
"And what did Santa bring you, honey?", the mother asked before the boy turned to his parents and pulled out a shrunken head, making the parents scream.
"Merry Christmas!", Jack exclaimed.
"Oh, I knew it, I knew it, I KNEW it!", Coraline exclaimed.
Meanwhile, at the police station, someone called the cop, who answered the phone.
"Hello, police. Attacked by Christmas toys? That's strange. That's the second toy complaint we've had.", the cop spoke as he heard frantic peanuts-type talk.
In the sky, in the meantime, Coraline tried again to speak with Jack.
"Jack, listen! This is really important!", Coraline urged.
"Oh, can't it wait? I still have presents to deliver.", Jack spoke before laughing as the residents of Halloween Town watched eagerly.
However, soon, Jack put a killer wreath in an old lady's home, a snake around the tree, and a vampire toy and killer duck underneath another tree before the children rushed for the toys, only for them to start chasing after them and scream loudly.
Soon, as Coraline followed, trying her best to keep up with Jack, who was putting toys down chimneys, and warn him about the consequences, albeit unsuccessfully.
"Jack, it's not a good idea to...", Coraline began before Jack put one toy down the chimney, earning a man's scream.
"...do that. Because it's going to make them...!", Coraline continued before another scream, this time, a feminine one, sounded.
"...shirek with fear...", Coraline finished a bit flatly.
Soon, bats flew off the tree, making a couple kids frightened in one house, before the Killer Wreath made its move on the old lady, a snake started eating the tree, and a Jack in the box chased the fat kid, prompting the other parents to close their windows and turn the fireplace on even more, releasing more flames.
"You're welcome, one and all!", Jack assured.
"Great. Now, everyone's gonna have it out for Jack...!", Coraline worried.
And she was right. Someone reported a sighting of him to the cop over the phone.
"Where'd you spot him? Fast as we can, ma'am. Police. I know, I know a skeleton. Keep calm. Turn off all the lights. Make sure the doors are locked. Hello, police.", the policeman spoke, taking many calls before it showed the Newscaster speaking as it showed a radio tower, not knowing that the residents of Halloween Town were watching and celebrating, all except Wybie and Sally.
"Reports are pouring in from all over the globe that an impostor is shamelessly impersonating Santa Claus, mocking and mangling this joyous holiday.", the newscaster spoke.
"Oh, no...", Wybie spoke in shock.
"Police assure us that this moment, military units are mobilizing to stop the perpetrator of this heinous crime.", the newscaster spoke.
"And things just got worse.", Wybie said.
"Jack... Coraline... Someone has to help them. Where'd they take that Sandy Claws?", Sally asked before she took off with Wybie following her.
"Wait up!", Wybire urged.
"Wherever you are, come back! Come back and save Christmas.", the newscaster spoke before a military base lit up searchlights and blared sirens (which made the Black Cat yeowl before covering its ears), even shining down said lights at Jack.
"Oh, no. Sirens. Those sound serious.", Coraline spoke in worry.
"Look, fellas. Search lights!", Jack grinned.
"Search lights?!", Coraline exclaimed before the military aimed their cannons and started firing at Jack.
"They're celebrating! They're thanking us for doing such a good job.", Jack spoke.
"Somehow, I doubt it.", Coraline responded before one of the missiles almost hit Zero with another missing past Coraline, making her exclaim a bit.
"Whoa, careful down there, you almost hit us.", Jack spoke.
"That's exactly what they're trying to do!", Coraline shouted before Jack turned to Zero.
"It's ok, Zero. Head higher!", Jack urged before Zero did so.
Meanwhile, at Oogie's lair, while Oogie Boogie was rolling with the dice, the Beldam was making a doll with FrankenIgor's assistance.
"I truly appreciate your craftsman ship of dolls, Ms. Beldam. Especially the voodoo kind.", FrankenIgor smirked.
"You're lucky dolls are where my expertise lay.", the Beldam spoke.
"Indeed. And I have a few items when we begin our conquest.", FrankenIgor spoke as he let down his list and clear his throat.
"Item one...", FrankenIgor spoke before it went to Oogie Boogie.
"Are you a gamblin' man, Sandy? Let's play.", Oogie Boogie smirked.
"before he saw Sally's leg peeping out from the door.
"Mmmm.. my, my...what have we here?", Oogie Boogie spoke before spitting out from his mouth, moving the top of his head back, and walked forward, allowing both Wybie and Sally's hands to start rescuing Sandy.
"We'll get you out of here.", Sally assured.
"Yeah. So, just follow our lead.", Wybie assured.
"Ah, lovely. Tickle, tickle, tickle. Tickle, tickle, tickle.", Oogie Boogie spoke as Sally's hands untied Sandy only for Oogie to realize that there's no body to the leg.
"WHAT?! You trying to make a dupe out of me?!", Oogie Boogie exclaimed before he then sucked Sandy and Sally back in along with Wybie.
Back to Jack, he, Coraline, Zero, and the black cat were still in the air.
"Who's next on my list. Ah, little Harry and Jordan. Won't they be surprised?", Jack spoke.
"Surprised? More like scared to death! Tons of children panicked, their parents called the police, and now the military is attacking us!", Coraline shouted before the sleigh got hit.
"They're trying to hit us!", Jack spoke.
"That's what I've been trying to tell you! You scared them to death and alerted them to us!", Coraline exclaimed.
"ZERO!", Jack shouted to Zero, who whimpered.
"There's gotta be something here that can get us off that sleigh and back down safely before the sleigh gets shot down...!", Coraline spoke frantically in worry as she searched through every present in the sleigh before finding a broomstick.
"That's it!", Coraline spoke before the military aimed one last time and fired.
"Hang on!", Coraline urged before she and the black cat jumped off the sleigh just as it then got hit, the bag of gifts getting destroyed.
Coraline's eyes were closed tightly before she opened them and saw that she and the cat got off in time.
"Hey... We made it!", Coraline grinned before realizing something as Zero went over to Coraline and barked.
"Wait. Where's...?", Coraline puzzled before gasping in horror upon noticing Jack falling down.
"Oh, no. Jack!", Coraline exclaimed before she dove down for him.
"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night...!", Jack shouted as he fell down, passing through the clouds before crashing down with an explosion, albeit small.
Back at Halloween Town, its residents were aghast in shock, especially with a werewolf howling sadly at Jack's "passing" before the mayor sadly walked away into his car.
"I knew this Christmas thing was a bad idea. I felt it in my gut. Terrible news folks. The worst tragedy of our times. Jack and Coraline have been blown to smithereens. Terrible, terrible news.", the mayor spoke while crying, relaying the bad news via megaphone.
Things weren't any better at "normal" town either as children grew sad over what happened as the police relayed their own message.
"Attention, attention citizens. Terrible news. There's still no sign of Santa Claus. Although the impostor has been shot down, it looks like Christmas will have to be canceled this year. I repeat the impostor has been shot down but there's still no sign...", the cop spoke.
Meanwhile, Coraline and the Black Cat arrived near Jack at the cemetery.
"No..., Jack.", Coraline spoke in worry before Zero handed Coraline Jack's broken jaw and she noticed that he was now missing it before she put it back together.
And like that, he started moving again.
"Jack, are you okay? That was a big fall you had there.", Coraline asked before Jack only started singing sadly with Coraline singing to him as well to cheer him up, prompting Jack to tear off the santa costume as his spirits got back up.
Jack: What have I done?

How could I be so blind?
All is lost, where was I?
Spoiled all, spoiled all
Everything's gone all wrong

Find a deep cave to hide in
In a million years they'll find me
Only dust and a plaque
That reads, 'Here Lies Poor Old Jack"
But I never intended all this madness, never
And nobody really understood, well how could they?
That all I ever wanted was to bring them something great
Why does nothing ever turn out like it should?
Coraline: Well, what the heck, you went and did your best
And, by god, you really felt something swell
And for a moment, you even touched the sky
And at least you left some stories they can tell, you did
And for the first time since you don't remember when,
it's time to be your old bony self again
And you, Jack, are the Pumpkin King
Jack: That's right! I am the Pumpkin King, ha, ha, ha, ha
And I just can't wait until next Halloween
'Cause I've got some new ideas that will really make them scream
And, by God, I'm really going to give it all my might!
Uh oh, I hope there's still time to set things right
"I'm not sure if there is any time. But if we can hurry, there might as well be.", Coraline grinned to the Pumpkin King.
"Sandy Claws, hmm.", Jack spoke before he opened the tombstone door and went through it with Coraline, the black cat, and Zero following him.
A/N: And it looks like Coraline and Jack have both set out to help make things right for Christmas and no sooner did the duo make for Halloween Town. How do you think the final battle against FrankenIgor, the Beldam, and Oogie Boogie would unfold? Well, if you have suggestions, I'm more than happy to try some before Christmas. :)
