A/N: And here, in time for Christmas, we finally have the last chapter of "Coraline 2: The Nightmare Before Christmas"! :)
Coraline 2: The Nightmare Before Christmas
Chapter 9: Coraline & Jack to the Rescue!; Finale
Meanwhile, at Oogie's lair, the trio was quite curious about what's going on.
"What's happening? What's happening?", Shock asked before she and the others looked to the cage, getting an idea.
"Let's go down...", Shock began.
"and take...", Lock added.
"a peek.", Barrel added before he and the two others cheered and rushed over to the cage, although not before getting some treats, a cup of soda, and a bag of popcorn (with which Shock had to pluck out an apparent worm from inside).
"Hurry, hurry!", Barrel urged before Shock joined the others and the trio went down in the cage with several bugs on top of the wooden covers fleeing as the trio watched Oogie Boogie eagerly getting ready to torture Sally, Santa, and even Wybie as he laughed while FrankenIgor continued speaking with the Beldam nearby.
"You monster...!", Santa scolded.
"Item 96...", Franken Igor spoke before snickering and continuing.
"A heavy tax shall be levied against all parasites and insects…such as the creepy, the crawly, and especially... FrankenIgor spoke before snickering again.
"...little children.", FrankenIgor smirked.
"Oh. I love the way your mind works.", Beldam smirked.
"I don't...", Wybie commented.
"This isn't over! Not by along shot! You wait till Jack hears about this. By the time he's through with you, you'll be lucky if you...", Sally began.
"Perhaps I haven't made myself clear. We have the power!", FrankenIgor began before moving the table a bit closer to the acid puddle, making Wybie gasp.
"We are supreme.", FrankenIgor smirked.
"Coraline Jones and the king of Halloween has been blown to smithereens. Coraline and Skeleton Jack are now piles of dust.", the mayor spoke sadly, shocking Wybie, Sally, and Coraline even further while Lock, Shock, and Barrel grew excited.
"Piles of dust! Piles of dust! Coraline and Jack are piles of dust!", the trio exclaimed.
Little did they even know that Jack burst out from the tombstone.
"Come on, everyone. Christmas isn't over yet!", Jack urged.
"Right!", Coraline agreed before Jack ran faster while Zero, Coraline, and the black cat flew due to the latter three flying on a broomstick.
"Are you holding up okay?", Coraline asked.
"I've...had better days, Coraline.", the black cat responded.
"What's that you were saying about luck, rag doll?", Oogie smirked.
When Jack, Coraline, Zero, and the black cat arrived, they all heard Sally shouting.
"Help, help, help, help!", Sally shouted.
"They're in trouble! We have to help them.", Coraline spoke in worry before Jack noticed a rope hanging down nearby.
"Luckily, I think I know a way in.", Jack assured.
"Oh, if only they...", Sally began.
"But they aren't. Ever.", FrankenIgor interrupted before laughing maniacally with Jack then shushing Coraline, telling her that she has to keep quiet, before she nodded to him and went down the rope first with Jack following her.
"Sandy, looks like it's Oogie's turn to boogie now.", Oogie spoke, not knowing that Coraline and Jack were already sneaking inside, as Sally screamed.
"Help!", Sally shouted.
"1..., 2..., 3..., 4..., 5, 6, 7!", Oogie shouted as he pulled the lever 7 times in tune with the count before laughing again.
"This can't be happening!", Santa spoke as the trio grinned, that is, until noticing Coraline.
"YOU?!", Lock, Shock, and Barrel exclaimed.
"I don't think it's me you three should be worried about.", Coraline smirked before pointing upward toward Jack as the trio looked up and gasped before Jack roared as he shook the cage, prompting the trio to take off in fright.
"7 again!", Oogie shouted.
"If only Jack and Coraline were here...", Wybie spoke worriedly.
"But they aren't.", Oogie discouraged.
"This is our kingdom!", FrankenIgor shouted before laughing maniacally, not knowing that Coraline and Jack turned to each other and nodded before entering, and then clearing his throat.
"That is, of course, with your permission.", FrankenIgor spoke to Beldam.
"Why, most assuredly.", Beldam smirked.
"Ashes to ashes, and dust to dust. Oh, I'm feeling weak...with hunger!", Oogie smirked, not noticing that Coraline and Jack were sneaking past him; but FrankenIgor noticed, albeit barely.
"What...?", FrankenIgor puzzled.
"One more roll of the dice oughta do it.", Oogie spoke before laughing as he rolled the dice, only to notice that they were both 1's.
"What?! Snake eyes?", Oogie puzzled before he banged on the table, making the dice move to a 6 and a 5.
"11! Haha! Looks like I won the jackpot!", Oogie grinned.
"Oogie.", FrankenIgor spoke, trying to warn Oogie about Coraline and Jack's presence.
"Bye bye, little boy, doll face, and sandman.", Oogie smirked before Wybie, Sally, and Santa screamed as they fell off with Oogie laughing.
But no hissing sound came from the lava below.
"What the...?", Oogie puzzled before he flipped the table back and saw, much to his shock as well as the Beldam's, both Coraline and Jack.
"Hello, Oogie.", Coraline smirked before the black cat hissed angrily at Oogie.
"You?! You're alive?!", Beldam exclaimed.
"But this is not possible!", FrankenIgor exclaimed.
"How dare you treat my friends so shamefully?!", Jack exclaimed.
"Jack, but they said you and the girl were dead. You two must be DOUBLE dead!", Oogie exclaimed as he stepped on a spider-shaped pedestal, causing cards to be erected out from the ground and spun the blades on the ground, prompting Coraline to dodge the blades as Jack ducked underneath them.
"Well, come on, bone man.", Oogie goaded before Zero barked while Santa, Sally, and Wybie watched as Coraline then narrowly dodged the blades while Jack snuck past them just fine.
"Ooo-hoo-hoo-hoo. Ha!", Oogie smirked before the blades are withdrawn with a few shooters coming out from the other side.
"Uh-oh.", Coraline spoke before she ducked behind the shooters only to go up against the Beldam herself as she smirked.
"Well, well, well. It's been a while.", the Beldam smirked.
"You think so? I think it's been too long.", Coraline retorted before the Beldam then leapt toward Coraline only to miss as she dodged it before Coraline got out her backpack and then aimed at the beldam with a rubber band and a small rock, hitting one of her legs making her go off-balance, before she attempted to push the Beldam to the ground only for the Beldam to grab her and toss her back, causing the girl to land rather roughly and then get back up in time for the Beldam to jump after her only for Coraline to dodge roll her way past the metallic legs and then lunge at Beldam, swerving her around the way the Black Cat did, only she lasted twice as long before the Beldam grabbed her and tossed Coraline back toward the ground, making her slide back.
"Coraline, no...!", Wybie spoke in worry before Coraline stood up weakly.
"You know, this reminds me of a moment just like this the last time. Except this time..., I'm not alone.", Beldam grinned.
"And how do you figure that...?", Coraline asked as Oogie wound up having to run from jack before noticing a button, leaping for it, and pressing it, not knowing that his string got caught in the skull's teeth in the button before FrankenIgor yelled out while headed straight toward Coraline and Jack.
"Look out!", Wybie and Sally shouted before Jack and Coraline turned to see the big sawblade and gasped, making a break for it before the saw blade cut off the arms of the shooters, distracting FrankenIgor long enough for it to suddenly stop and send him flying out of the castle and into the encircling moat surrounding the castle before splashing in it with the Beldam then turning to Coraline.
"Another day, Coraline.", Beldam spoke before she crawled away just as Oogie bounced up to the spinner with Coraline noticing the string that got stuck.
"So long, Jack.", Oogie smirked before laughing as he ascended.
"Okay. Just be careful not to unravel!", Coraline smirked.
"Say what?", Oogie puzzled before he noticed that the thread that held Oogie together came loose, showing that he was made entirely of bugs on the inside.
"Oh, ho, ho, ho, no! My bugs! My bugs!", oogie sobbed as he started to come apart and fall into the lava, making Coraline gag and heave as she covered her mouth with her hand as Jack glared while Sally and Zero looked on in worry before one of the bugs scampered off only to get crushed beneath Santa's heel.
"Thank you... I thought I was gonna puke.", Coraline sighed.
"Forgive me, Mr. Claws. I'm afraid I've made a terrible mess of your holiday.", Jack apologized.
"Bumpy sleigh ride, Jack? The next time you get the urge to take over someone else's holiday, I'd listen to them! They're the only ones who make any sense around this insane asylum! Skeletons... Boogey men...", Santa scolded.
"I hope there's still time!", Coraline shouted.
"To fix Christmas? Of course, there is, Ms. Jones. I'm Santa Claus!", Santa assured before he then flew up through Oogie's chimney.
"He'll fix things Jack. He knows what to do.", Sally assured.
"How did you two get down here Sally?", Jack asked.
"Oh, I was trying to, well, I wanted to, to...', Sally began.
"...to help me.", Jack realized.
"I couldn't just let you just...", Sally began.
"We needed to make sure you were safe.", Coraline added.
"Speaking of safe, I'm glad you're all right.", Wybie grinned before frowning upon realizing something.
"Oh! But what about the Beldam? What if she comes back?", Wybie asked.
"Then, I'll be ready. And I've been meaning to ask. Who was that with the Beldam and Oogie?", Coraline asked.
"That would be FrankenIgor. He used to be a scientist, until Dr. Finkelstein came along. Not only was he just as smart as him, if not better, but also more...shall we say, considerate and a little bit more even-tempered.", Jack responded.
"Oh. Looks like he's cooling off, then. Get it?", Coraline snickered before Jack then turned to Sally.
"Sally, I can't believe I never realized that you...", Jack began before a light shone down on Jack, prompting Zero, Coraline, the black cat, and Sally to turn to the source.
"Jack, Jack!", the mayor exclaimed.
"Here he is!", Barrel grinned.
"Alive!", Lock added.
"Just like we said.", Shock added.
"You three?!", Coraline exclaimed.
"Grab a hold, kids!", the Mayor spoke.
"Well, it is best not to look a gift wolf in the mouth.", the black cat suggested.
"Well, all right.", Coraline sighed before Jack grabbed on and grabbed Sally with Coraline, Wybie, and the black cat barely able to get on.
Later, as the newscaster gave reports, it showed Santa saving a fat kid from the jack-o-lantern in a box before giving him a candy cane, replacing the dark toys with normal ones, and even replacing a shrunken head with a puppy for the young boy.
"Good news, folks. Santa Claus, the one and only has finally been spotted. Old Saint Nick appears to be traveling at supersonic speed. He's setting things right, bringing joy and cheer wherever he goes. Yes folks, Kris Kringle has pulled it out of the bag and delivered Christmas to excited children all over the world!", the newscaster spoke before Jack, Coraline, the Black Cat, Sally, Wybie, the mayor, and the mischievous trio returned with Jack and Coraline walking up the steps to City hall.
Chorus: La, la, la, (etc.)
Jack's OK, and he's back, OK
Child Corpse and Chorus: He's all right
Mayor and Chorus: Let's shout, make a fuss
Scream it out, wheee
Chorus: Jack is back now, everyone sing
In our town of Halloween
"It's great to be home!", Jack grinned.
"Ho ho ho ho ho! Happy Halloween!", Santa shouted as he brought snow to Halloween.
"Merry Christmas!", Jack, Coraline, and Wybie shouted as they both waved.
Child Corpse: What's this?
Cyclops: What's this?
Harlequin Demon: I haven't got a clue
Mr. Hyde: What's this?
Clown: Why it's completely new
Off-screen Voice: What's this?
Wolfman: Must be a Christmas thing
Off-screen Voice: What's this?
Mayor: It's really very strange
Chorus: This is Halloween
Halloween! Halloween! Halloween!
What's this?
What's this?
(Repeat)
Pretty soon, the monsters were already having fun as they skated across ice, made snow angels, played hockey, and had a snowball fight with Coraline getting hit by a snow ball from Lock, Shock, and Barrel, who hit her, all while Sally plucked out another flower.
"Oh, ho, ho, ho, ho, you are so gonna get it!", Coraline smirked.
"You got that right.", Wybie concurred as he got out a snowball of his own and both then aimed at the trio.
"Uh-oh.", the trio spoke before they fled from Coraline and Wybie, neither of which hesitated to throw snowballs at them while Jack went above the corpse child, who was now being rolled up like a snowball.
"Careful, my precious jewel!", Dr. Finkelstein spoke as he arrived along with, much to everyone's surprise: his new wife!
Then, Jack, Coraline, and Wybie turned to notice Sally walking away.
"I wonder what that's about.", Wybie puzzled,
"Well..., I don't know about you, but I'm gonna go turn in for the night.
"So, you two are going home already?", Jack asked.
"Yeah. But I'm sure we'll meet again. But until then..., take good care of Sally.", Coraline grinned before she and Wybie left, giving him food for thought.
Soon after, as Sally stood on the hill all alone, Jack sang as he walked up to her before he and Sally sang together.
Jack: My dearest friend, if you don't mind
I'd like to join you by your side
Where we can gaze into the stars
Jack & Sally: And sit together, now and forever
For it is plain as anyone can see
We're simply meant to be
Then, it zoomed away from the two a bit and went up as Zero zoomed off into the heavens.
A/N: So, what'd you think? Pretty cool, huh? That means that there's also going to be a sequel coming soon, called "Coraline 3: Oogie's Revenge", which would feature a few surprises inside the story. The release date isn't quite set yet, but it'll definitely be coming soon. I can say that much. :)
