It was a sunny day in the Hidden Leaf Village, home to some of the strongest ninja in the Land of Fire. On the roof of one of the buildings, lying down while looking at the clear sky, was Naruto Uzumaki, known as the most powerful ninja and the hero of the world, since some time ago, he and his friends managed to stop Kaguya Otsutsuki and save mankind.

Despite Naruto being happy that the war was over, and the five Hidden Villages were living peacefully among them, he found the last few days boring, as there weren't many missions to accomplish.

"So there you are, Naruto."

The jinchuriki turned his head to the side to see that next to him was Sakura, a teammate and friend of his. She was one of the people who fought beside him against Kaguya.

"What are you doing?" asked Sakura sitting down next to him.

"I was bored and Shikamaru once told me that watching the clouds go by is a good way to pass the time." said Naruto.

"And does it work?" asked Sakura still knowing the possible answer.

"It's relaxing, yes, but that doesn't take away from the fact that I'm bored. It's all too peaceful." said Naruto.

"Well, what did you expect? Now that the Hidden Villages are no longer enemies, there's not much to do. The best thing to do in these cases is to enjoy the peace we have now, since you never know when it might end." said Sakura.

"I guess you're right." said Naruto before sitting down. "Hey, have you heard from Sasuke?" asked Naruto referring to his best friend/former enemy/rival who in turn was another one of the friends he fought Kaguya with.

"No. I've asked Lady Tsunade, but she hasn't received any news regarding him." said Sakura somewhat sadly.

Despite the fact that he did many, many bad things to many people, Sasuke was finally forgiven and released. Naruto and Sakura were happy thinking that they would be a team again like in the old days, but Sasuke decided to start a journey with the intention of protecting the village from the shadows, which they agreed to in the hope that they would see each other again.

"Well, you know him. Always trying to work things out on his own." said Naruto knowing his best friend very well.

Sakura chuckled.

"Yeah. That's Sasuke for us." said Sakura thinking about the person she was in love with.

CLANK

Suddenly, something very strange sounded in the air, like the sound of a bell.

Quickly, the two ninjas stood up and became alert to that sound.

"Did you hear it?" asked Sakura.

"Like not to hear it." said Naruto before noticing something. "Look!" exclaimed Naruto pointing to the sky.

Sakura turned her gaze upwards and both of them were wide-eyed at what they saw.

A strange light was shining high in the sky, but it wasn't about the sun, it was about something different, something that made the two ninjas nervous.

Before they could ask another question, the brightness exploded in a huge flash of light that forced the two ninjas to cover their eyes to avoid going blind. By the time they noticed the explosion of light ended, the two opened their eyes in time to notice two objects shrouded in light falling toward the forest outside the village.

"What the hell was that?" asked Naruto.

"I don't know, but we'd better..." began Sakura suggesting to inform the Hokage, but then, Naruto jumped onto another rooftop in the direction of where the two objects landed. "Wait, Naruto!" exclaimed Sakura determined to follow the jinchuriki.

The two of them went jumping from place to place and running quickly until at last, they reached the forest outside the village, right in the area where the two mysterious objects landed.

When they arrived, they found a huge crater on the ground that was covered by a small smokescreen.

The two ninjas stood on alert in case of an enemy attack. However, the two were shocked when, as the smoke cleared, they saw that, at the bottom of the crater, there were two unconscious girls. One with her hair tied in pigtails and the other with an eye patch.

"Girls?" asked Naruto in confusion.

Sakura had to put her state of surprise aside and step into the crater to approach the girls. Once she reached them, she put her hands on their necks to check their status.

"Are they okay?" asked Naruto approaching the pink haired girl.

"They're unconscious, but they've suffered serious damage from the fall. We need to get them to the hospital as soon as possible." said Sakura.

"Understood." said Naruto.

The next instant, Sakura carried the girl with the eye patch on her back while Naruto carried the pigtailed girl and then, the two of them set course straight for the hospital.

But then, while they were on their way...

"Naruto."

"What's wrong, Kurama?" asked Naruto speaking to the bijuu dwelling inside him.

"There's something weird about those girls." said Kurama.

"Weird? What do you mean?" asked Naruto.

"I don't know how to explain it, but I feel that they possess a power very similar to that of a jinchuriki." said Kurama.

"What? I thought almost all the bijuu were at liberty." said Naruto.

"And they are, but what I feel inside them is also very different from that of a jinchuriki. Again, I don't know how to explain it." said Kurama.

Naruto began to worry a little. If Kurama was saying something like that, it meant that these girls were more than they seemed. Many questions were going through his head, but the main one of all was...

"Who are these girls?" asked Naruto.

Sometime later, Naruto and Sakura took the two girls to the village hospital. Right now, the four of them were in a room, with the two girls, still unconscious, on two beds and the two ninjas standing to the side waiting.

It was then that they heard the door open and entering the room, it was Tsunade Senju, the Hokage.

"Okay, can you explain to me what happened? What was that strange light that almost blinded me?" asked Tsunade wanting answers.

"We don't know, Lady Tsunade. All we know is that after that explosion of light, those two girls fell from the sky. Given their condition, I considered bringing them here." said Sakura.

"And you did right, but that still doesn't answer my question." said Tsunade before focusing on the two girls. "Did they have anything on them?"

"No, old Tsunade. No ID bands, no wallets, no weapons, no nothing. I highly doubt it was an enemy attack." said Naruto.

"Naruto, how can you be so ignorant? Given your experience, you should know that appearances can be deceiving." said Tsunade.

"Says the one who changes her appearance to deceive." muttered Naruto referring to the Hokage using a rejuvenation technique to appear young.

PONK

Soon after, Naruto found himself lying on the ground with a huge bump on his head, courtesy of the Hokage.

"In case it was the enemy's doing, how are we going to find out if they're unconscious?" asked Sakura.

"That's why I asked them to come." said Tsunade pointing her thumb at the entrance to the room that Hinata and her cousin, Neji, passed through.

(AN: In my stories, Neji survives the war, which was the one death he hated the most).

"Is that why you asked us to accompany you, Hokage?" asked Neji.

"That's right, I need you to use the Byakugan to examine them for any anomalies." said Tsunade.

The two gave her a nod before focusing their gazes on the two girls.

"Byakugan!" the two shouted activating their Kekkei Genkai.

However, the instant they activated it, the two showed an expression of disbelief on their faces.

"Impossible." said Neji.

"What's wrong?" asked Tsunade.

"W-we didn't detect any chakra in them." said Hinata.

"That can't be. If it were, they wouldn't be alive." said Sakura.

"That's not all. We detected something strange about them." said Neji.

"What do you mean?" asked Tsunade.

"They both possess within them a strange power different from chakra and besides, it's quite large. Almost as much as Naruto's." said Hinata.

"Now that you mention it, Kurama mentioned to me earlier that he felt something in them that was similar, but at the same time, different from a jinchuriki." said Naruto.

That left those present very surprised and worried. It wasn't uncommon to find people who had a huge amount of chakra, but now they were facing two minor girls who possessed a different chakra power that was just as great as the power of a jinchuriki.

At that moment, they all asked the same questions.

"Who are they and where did they come from?" they all asked in unison.

"*Sigh* Anyway. We're not going to find out anything by standing around here. We'll have to wait for them to wake up." said Tsunade, receiving a nod from the others before leaving the room.

However, Naruto, being the last one, stood in the doorway before looking towards the two girls, mainly the one with pigtails.

For some reason, he felt a familiarity with her and not just because of what Kurama said. Unfortunately, the questions he had wouldn't be answered right away, so he had no choice but to wait. With that in mind, he left the room, leaving the two girls alone.

"I'm not a kid anymore. You've seen how strong I've become."

"You can do that mission alone."

"You won't regret it."

"And be sure to let me know if any problems arise, understood?"

"I will."

That conversation flashed through the young dragon slayer's mind as she began to feel herself regaining consciousness.

When she finally opened her eyes, the first thing she noticed was that she was inside a room. Not only that, but she was also on a bed.

Sitting up with a slight groan, she was able to get a better look at the place where she was. Looking around, she realized that she was in a hospital room and that next to her, lying on another bed, was the girl with the eye patch she had met in the ruins.

It was then that she remembered recent events. She had gone on a mission that consisted simply of guarding some ruins, but then, this girl appeared who had the same mission as her, but refused to cooperate.

Things got more complicated when some mysterious hooded men appeared who were going to harm them if they didn't leave. They fought them, but in the middle of the fight, a strange light suddenly formed and before they knew it, they were sucked into that light.

"I'm glad we're both okay." thought Wendy with a smile, but then, that smile was erased when she felt something in the atmosphere. "Wait, I don't feel any magic power. It can't be. Aren't we in Fiore? If so, where are we?"

Before Wendy could panic, a faint whimper caught her attention.

Turning her head quickly, she discovered that the girl in the patch had woken up and sat up while rubbing her one eye.

"What happened?" asked the girl in the patch.

"Are you okay?" asked Wendy.

It was then that the girl became aware of her surroundings and the person next to her.

"Where am I? Is this your doing?" the girl asked suspiciously.

"N-No. I didn't do anything. Surely someone brought us here after what happened in the ruins." said Wendy.

"Really? Damn it. It's all because of those hooded guys. If I find them again, I'll make them pay." said the girl clenching her fist and teeth in frustration.

"But there's something weird about this place." said Wendy.

"What do you mean?" asked the girl.

"Can't you feel it? There are no magic particles in the atmosphere." said Wendy.

"Now that you mention it, it's true. In fact, I don't feel any magic power no matter how small. Where are we supposed to be?" asked the girl.

The two girls were silent as they kept wondering about where they were. All they could do was wait for someone to arrive to answer their questions.

"Wow, what a surprise."

The two girls quickly turned their gaze to the window to see leaning against it a blond boy with whisker-like markings.

"I thought I'd go check on you two. I'm glad you woke up." said Naruto with a smile.

Before Wendy could ask politely...

"Who are you?" the girl with the patch asked suspiciously as the jinchuriki entered the room and stood in front of the two.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki. In fact, it was my friend and I who brought you two to the hospital." said Naruto.

"Really?" asked Wendy with surprise before bowing in thanks. "Thank you very much for that."

"You don't have to thank me, uh..." began Naruto.

"Wendy. Wendy Marvell." said Wendy introducing herself.

"Nice to meet you, Wendy." said Naruto before focusing on the girl with the patch. "What's your name?"

That caught the young dragon slayer's attention, as, so far, she never knew the name of the girl with the patch.

Seeing the looks of the two, the girl let out a sigh of defeat.

"Lapis. Lapis Universe." said Lapis revealing her name.

"Nice to meet you." said Naruto.

"Where are we, by the way?" asked Wendy.

"You are in the Hidden Leaf Village." said Naruto.

"Hidden Leaf Village? What kingdom is that place in?" asked Lapis.

"Kingdom? No. It's in the Land of Fire." said Naruto.

Hidden Village of the Leaf? Land of Fire? Wendy may not have known much about geography beyond Fiore's kingdom, but she'd never heard of places with those names.

In fact, she began to sense something coming from Naruto. It wasn't magic power, but it was just as powerful as a dragon slayer.

Before she could ask another question, the door could be heard opening.

"Naruto, what are you doing here? You can't just sneak into the hospital whenever you want." said Sakura entering the room before noticing the situation.

"Ah, you're just in time. Girls, this is Sakura, the friend I told you about earlier." said Naruto.

"I see you are feeling better already." said Sakura.

"E-Eh, yes. Thanks to you too for helping us." said Wendy bowing in thanks.

"You're welcome. Helping people is what a medical ninja would do." said Sakura.

"Ninja?" wondered Wendy in her mind.

She remembered the stories she heard of ninjas as stealthy, deadly warriors who can do techniques that most mages can't perform.

More questions began to race through her mind, and she was desperate for answers.

"Anyway, since you're awake, we'd better take you." said Sakura.

"Where are you planning to take us?" asked Lapis suspiciously.

"Well, to see the Hokage." said Naruto.

"Hokage?" asked Wendy and Lapis in unison with an arched eyebrow.
