Kelly's pov
The next day I was making breakfast in matts kitchen when he woke up curled on the couch where he had fallen asleep against me. Matt stood up and walked into the kitchen where I was baking up the bacon, eggs, and toast, good morning I said to Matt who was totally in a state of shock when his memories came flooding back in about what happened the night before I could see the hurt and humiliation in his eyes and my heart wrenched at what happened to the man I was head over heels for. As he walked to the dining table I placed a plate in front of him and he ate without saying a single word until we had to go to the house to start our shift.
As I took his back out of the car matt put a mask on so his friends and FD family would have no idea about what had happened to him just the night before, as we walked into the apparatus floor some of my men looked at u walking in together and me holding his bag as he took his bag from me my hand lingered as my fingers touched his hand I asked under my breath "are you ok we can sign in sick for one shift?" "no, I can do this I need to do this" he responded to me. That is when Boden called us into his office Matt walked in first and I followed suit as I closed the door Boden turned around on us with a look of fear in his eyes. Gabby has not responded to my calls and she is late for her shift. That is when Christopher knocked on Boden's door they found Gabby, she´s at the district something about Antonio being missing. Boden sighs but I felt Matt tens next to me, as we walked out of Boden's office he whispered to me "Jay went to stay with Antonio I need to call him" I pulled him into one of the conference rooms and looked him dead in the eye he left you Matt I know you loved him but he left you, remember.
Matts pov
As I looked at Kelly's worried look I collapsed all over inside again yes Kelly I know he left me but … I don't know I want to know what's up and if he's okay. He looked at me with a look full of sympathy oke call him. Tell me how it went after you're done, oke Kelly asked me. Oke, I will Kelly thanks for taking care of me last night. As he walked out of the room I took my phone and called Jay, hello detective Halstead his cold voice said. "jay what happened how are you?" I'm fine not that you need to know but I think Gabby is having a bad day Antonio has been kidnapped. Oke, I said and asked if he would keep me up to date on new info about Gabby and Antonio.
As I walked out of the conference room the house alarm want of engine 51, truck 81, squad 3, abo 61 battalion 25 go to 225 S Canal St, Chicago, for multiple people entrapped in a train cart ambo 35, Engine 16, Engine 42, truck 3, ambo 42, ambo 93 and squad 1 are also in route to 225 S Canal St, Chicago my radio creaks as truck, engine, ambo, and squad pull out of the house. As we are pulling up the union station I could see Boden stepping out of his car and taking scene command from a new lieutenant on engine 42 as we pulled up and I walked over to Boden to ask for an assignment when a firefighter from engine 42 came running up to Boden who was talking to the man's lieutenant. He started to speak when I arrived at the scene command. Chief there Is a lady in there who claims it's a terrorist attack. as Boden heard it on he looked at me I turned away from them and held up my hand and screamed that no one would enter that building at any cost while Boden was calling off search and rescue in union station and commanded that every firefighter and EMT would retreat from the building. I was on a different channel talking to main. Main send bomb squad and CPD to Union station for a possible terrorist attack.
As I watched a teen run back into the building while screaming that his mother was inside, I cursed and ran after the teen Boden screamed for me to stop and come back but I pushed through. As I entered union station I was faced with two men in masks and pointing their guns at me as I put my hands up I felt a screaming pain in my side and shoulder as I fell back through the doors of union station onto the stairs that is when I faintly heard police cars pull up and then I blacked out.
Kelly's pov
I could see matt run to catch the kid before he could enter the station but he was too late as he entered and the door swung shut I heard three gunshots ring out and I could see matt fall back to the doors and roll to halve way to the stairs that is when the police rolled up I tried to get lose of Boden and Shay how were holding me but then the police officers dragged Matt to ambo 93. The doors closed and the ambulance drove off with screaming sirens.
