Lunch came sooner than Will expected. He hated history. It was the only class he hated. Will followed the other students. He had no idea where he was going, and didn't want to get lost. As Will was walking, he felt someone's hand in his. He looked to his side and saw El. "Are you okay?" Will asked. She sure didn't look okay. "Teacher. Front. Class." she responded. He hated being new. Teachers always made the new students come to the front of the class and introduce themselves. "I'm sorry you had to go through that," Will said. " I had to go through it too." he reassured. It was a scary thing, being the center of attention. He didn't like it, and it seemed El didn't either. They entered the lunch area. They got in the line and quickly got their lunch.
There was almost nowhere to sit. As the two walked through the tables, they felt eyes on them. It was awful. Will quickly moved his eyes. Finally after a little, he found an empty table. It seems that El found it too, because both of them quickly walked over to it. Will finally let out a breath. "That was horrible." El said. "Yeah, I hated it." Will responded. Then it got quiet. Will hated when this happened. He wasn't Mike or Max. He couldn't keep a conversation going. Even if he did, there would be no spark that Mike or Max had when they talked to El. He was just a very bad person to have a conversation with.
So that's practically how their lunch went. They spent their first day of their new school, silent. Will going to say something, but then overthinking it and closing his mouth. He hated when he did this. Will could never think of the right thing to say. The two would part ways. Then come back to each other before they went to their next class. "How was your first day?" Jonathan asked. The two just shrugged. Will was glad that Jonathan didn't push it any further. He was to catch up with homework and, had to introduce himself to almost all his classes. Will's pretty sure El had to do the same. It had been a pretty awful day.
When they got home, the two headed to their rooms. Homework would be awful for both of them. Will practically spent all day in his room. Trying to catch up on the past two weeks of homework. El came into his room. He didn't even notice her come in, Will was so into his homework. "Hey Will?" she said. Will jumped at her voice. In turn, El jumped a little too. "Sorry," Will said. He noticed that El jumped when he did, and he felt bad for that. "Um..What did you need?" Will asked. "Uh..um..the sci-sci.." El struggled. "The science homework?" Will asked. "Yes. Science." El said. "Um..Okay, what is it?" he asked. "Chem..chem-est-ry." El sounded out. "Chemistry." Will said. "Yeah, chem-istry." she said. "Okay, let's see." he said. El gave Will the science book. The two spent their time helping each other. Up until dinner time of course. But they got most of their homework done. It's pretty crazy to give new students this much homework, Will thought through those hours. Will was pretty happy that he and El got to bond a little more. Even if it was over homework.
