"Are we all set? List everything off one by one now! Especially you, Goku!"
Tights chirps as she, Bikini, and Goku all stand in the front yard of Capsule Corporation early in the morning. Bikini nods as she finishes tying her hair in a pair of pigtails. Goku digs around in a large traveling backpack.
"Twenty food capsules!"
He brings one up before having it snatched out of his hand by Bikini.
"I saw your thumb on the top! You already ate breakfast!"
"Hee hee!~"
He then pulled out a few cases with sticky notes on them. He looks at the first one with narrowed eyes as he struggles to read.
"Ve-! Veee... Vehick? Vehicle! Vehicle capsules in this one! Camping in this one! And uh... Ex? Expery... Expert..."
Tights sighs and taps the sticky note as she sounds the word out.
"Ex-per-i-men-tal! I thought you learned to read when you were training with Bikini!"
Bikini herself gives an apologetic smile.
"Your handwriting is pretty hard to read, even for me... But nevermind all that! We have two radars as well, right Goku?"
He nods and holds up two Dragon Radars.
"Uh-huh! This is the one that scans for Dragon Balls, this one scans for them too along with the first radar, right?"
Tights snaps her fingers into a thumbs up winking at him.
"That's it, monkey boy!~ Now, I'm trusting all those capsule cases with you two for now. Think of this as a lesson in some responsibility. I'll be holding the first radar in case we end up separated."
Bikini stands straight with a pout, having grown ever slightly above her elder sister.
"I am very responsible!"
She shrinks as Tights shoves a finger in her face smugly sneering.
"If that were true then you'd still be in school! You'd also keep a real track of where Goku is when someone isn't watching him."
Bikini huffs and waves the finger away.
"He isn't a pet nor does he cause that much trouble."
Both of them let out a squeal as a palm tree comes falling down between them. They look to see Goku having uprooted it out of the ground before lifting it up and shaking it until a few coconuts fall out. Goku snickers as he drops the tree again and cracks one of the coconuts open with a chop of his hand to drink the juice inside.
Tights leers at the blushing Bikini silently reminding her duty as Goku's Keeper. The Unicorn calls out to the Flying Nimbus and hops on.
"Goku! We're leaving now! Give Tights her airplane capsule so we can go!"
"Sure!~"
Somewhere in the icy mountain range of a rigid land, deep inside under the snow and rock, an incredibly advanced technological laboratory idly works on itself testing and researching new topics as if alive. The old Dr. Gero himself stands in front of a large monitor as his latest invention, an adaption of the Capsule Corporation gravity chamber, watching Gebo train as the red-headed giant focuses a ball of energy in his only arm.
The screen displays much information for Gero, garnering a pleased smile from the old man.
"The sheer variety of power you can harness is simply stupefying...! The possibilities are endless! Centuries of moving on from flame, to coal, to steam then electricity... Wasted when we could have just used this! Gebo, fire your attack at our target!"
"If I can even move my arm..."
Despite his comment, Gebo smiles seeing his father's face so bright after years of dark hatred, it is certainly worth the bone crushing pain as he endures the crushing force. Gero snickers as he looks to the screen itself.
"It has to be difficult. That foolish big headed loud mouth Briefs took in said he could handle only five times... Imagine their faces when you've managed to reach just past twenty! Months of training constantly in this grueling environment while harnessing the power of ki! Go, test your new power on the target!"
"Yes, Father."
With a thrust of his hand Gebo sends the ball towards a humanoid robot. A sparring droid that he would fight day by day as it was not hindered by tbe gravity at all. It moves to evade the ball, but Gebo swings his arm!
"I will not let you!"
The ball of ki swerves and speeds right past the droid, flying between its legs before swinging up to the head, striking g it before the entire room flashes white. Gero nearly falls over shielding his eyes from the light as the entire room quakes violently.
With haste, Gero turns off the artificial gravity before running inside a thick cloud of smoke from the explosion.
"Gebo! Gebo!? Where are you?!"
"I'm fine, Father."
For Gebo, he waved his hand trying to send the smoke away, but for Gero a powerful wind near sends him to the ground as the room is cleared of the cloud. The two stand in utter amazement of the rise in power on display. Gero is the first to wake up from his awed stupor as he looks around. The debris of the room and remains of the robot, from dust to even his pens from his shirt pocket were against the wall, all having been sent flying by Gebo's meager gesture.
Gero jumps up and down in great jubilation of their success.
"T-That was you!? That power-! It was on par with a hurricane wind! No, greater even, I can tell! Gebo, you are a true Super Human now! My finest creation, my own son!"
Gebo tries to calm his father he places his hand on Gero's shoulder.
"Father, please watch yourself. Your legs may be mechanical but your hip is not."
The scientist clears his throat as he removes the hand from him gently.
"I'm not that old quite yet... Now that we have these results, we can put our plan into action at last."
Gebo gains a serious look in his eyes.
"Are you sure about this? We and The Red Ribbon Army will not be the only ones after the Dragon Balls..."
Gero nods as he exits the chamber and enters a room with a large monitor showing map of the world. Seven glowing dots beep in unison as the old doctor grins.
"It doesn't matter. With my calculations you surpassed humanity in all attributes. There is few if anything on this Earth that can stop us from our goal."
Gebo points to one of the dots.
"That one is on the move already. We must start our search now."
Gero begins typing away at a console grumbling.
"My nano-cameras are still in their development phase! I can't see who it is yet..."
"It is Son Goku and his friends."
Gero perks up as he turns to his son.
"What? Didn't they already make their own wish? How can you be so sure it is them?"
Gebo turns to an advanced shelf where a new prosthetic arm sits. He speaks as he attaches it with an uncomfortable flinch.
"During the tournament, as well as from the conversations I overheard, Son Goku holds the Four-Star Ball close to his heart. It is his keepsake from Son Gohan, just as Mother's ring and glasses are for you."
Gebo adjusts and tests his new arm with a few swings at marvelous speeds.
"I believe he only wants it back to hold those precious memories close... That, and that Dragon Ball is the closest to West City. We also know that the Briefs Family is in possession of a Dragon Radar of their own."
Gero blinks at his son's deduction. Sure, now laid out in the open it makes sense to him, but Gebo reveals himself more than he realizes.
"You've certainly thought much about him since that fight... I thought you abhorred violence?"
Gebo nods speaking matter of factly.
"Of course I do. Senseless violence that is. Something about that fight however opened my eyes, allowed me to understand the mentality of Son Goku better, and in turn taught me something about myself. I will become the strongest being on Earth to protect this world from any evil."
Gero smiles at the resolve his son displays. Especially now that he understands a key point.
"You want to keep that win from Son Goku, is that it?"
Gebo grins slightly having been caught. He can never hide his feelings from his father.
"I know it will bother him to no end. He will challenge me one day and I would very much like to be prepared for it... I will be back."
Gebo makes his way for a pair of iron doors that open to a hangar. Gero chases after him rather confused.
"What? Where are you going? At least wait until the storm clears to go flying!"
"I am going to assist them, Father. There are many things out there that can still eliminate them and I would not like for those two to meet a premature end. You can use the remote communicator to stay in contact with me while you work here."
"Gebo-! Wait!"
But his son continues without stopping. He boards a jet plane with room for a small holding compartment. Gero knows and even thinks about coming with his son, but there are too many projects for him to work on, as well as too many dangers.
No. It is Gebo's path. As his father he knew the day would come when his son would leave him, as all children must do with their parents. He merely didn't want to or doesn't yet know how to tell him this. It doesn't matter to the old doctor, he is already satisfied with how he turned out.
"Be careful, son."
Tights eyes the Dragon Ball in her hand as she lands the plane in a clearing of a rocky grass field. She brings up a radio smugly grinning.
"Looks like I found the first one, you two!~ It took a few hours of searching but I'd say that's good progress! You two seem to be taking forever though..."
The radio crackles to life as Bikini whines from the other end.
"That's because Goku dropped the backpack in the lake! We'll be with you shortly...!"
Tights giggles tossing the Dragon Ball up and down.
"Good thing those capsules are waterproof then. Tell him it's the Six Star Ball so there's no rush!~"
She perks up then as a truck drives up to her. An intimidating man steps out with a burly entourage. He wears a leather coat and red ribbon around his neck but no undershirt to hide his muscular physique. He holds a rifle in one hand and approaches Tights with a steely glare.
"Hey, girl. What's that in your hand?"
Tights blinks before quickly hiding the Dragon Ball behind her. Her intuition telling her these men aren't the friendly locals of the area.
"Hm? Isn't it a bit rude to just ask a stranger that? Especially when we don't know each other..."
Behind her in her off-hand, she slowly lowers the volume of her radio and turns it on. Even if she can't hear Bikini, she hopes that her sister can hear her.
The man thumbs to himself snarling.
"Colonel Silver of the Red Ribbon Army. If you don't want to die I suggest you hand that over, now!"
She grumbles under her breath before reluctantly holding out the Dragon Ball.
"I-I didn't know you were apart of that group... A-And so high up too...! Pretty impressive, really! What do you want with it?"
A beastman in the group snatches the Dragon Ball away from her raising his brow.
"Forget about it! You wanna die or something? Keep your trap shut!"
Colonel Silver takes the Dragon Ball before shoving the rifle in his minions stomach. As the tiger man doubles over coughing, Colonel Silver puts the rifle barrel to his head.
"You shut your mouth. I'm still going to punish you for waking up so late in the morning. Girl."
He looks to Tights still holding his own henchman at gunpoint.
"How did you find the Dragon Ball? My men and I have been searching for weeks."
With little to no choice, she tries to stall for time, or at the very least get out of this situation alive. It occurs to her then as she devises a plan.
"W-Well sir, I have this radar! I uh, stole it from my old boss at Capsule Corp.! I heard about how Dragon Balls may have helped him with his wealth today and wanted to get rich myself...! You can have it though! I-I'd rather be alive now!"
Colonel Silver smiles and takes the radar, pulling his gun back from the beastman's head as he uses it.
"Well, well... I was scared Commander Red would execute us for being late. Now, we might end up being promoted for finding the rest of the Dragon Balls, and being the fastest!"
Tights chuckles fanning herself with a hand.
"H-Hahaha...! That's good! N-No one dies today, right?"
Colonel Silver nods and pockets the radar.
"Yes. Your cooperation certainly has me in a good mood... Now, show me what's in your other hand."
She pales growing stiff at the demand. Colonel Silver raises the rifle once more aiming right at her head.
"Did you think I didn't notice? You couldn't have gotten this on your own. Capsule Corp. has many layers of security that make it near impossible for our operatives to infiltrate it. So, how did you get ahold of something like this?"
With no choice, Tights holds up the radio in her hand.
"L-Look... So I have a group I'm with... But there's only one radar! They're off looking for a place for us to camp!"
"Then call them here. You have capsules, yes? We'll be taking those too. You should be grateful we won't take your life as well."
It takes a lot out of her not to beam with joy. These Red Ribbon Jerks have no idea what they're in for as she speaks into the radio.
"Hey guys, I-I need you here real quick! Like, now, would be preferable!"
Bikini's voice sounds from above as a shadow appears over them.
"Already here, Tights! Goku, beat 'em up!"
Colonel Silver looks up before seeing stars as Goku comes flying down with a kick to his head! He sends him hurtling to his group that all slam against the side of the truck. Bikini hops off of the Flying Nimbus above and lands next to Tights.
"You're about as much of a trouble magnet as Bulma is!"
"You're the one that attracts danger all the time!"
Tights shouts back before letting out a yelp as a bullet whiz right past her face. A volley of firepower showers the two but not one bullet lands. Colonel Silver's eyes near bug out of his sockets upon seeing he and his men miss their shots at such a close range.
Bikini gives them a glare as her horn glows brightly. Her magic, rather than create a barrier around herself and her sister, layered over their weapons and guided their attacks away from them.
"So, you're the Red Ribbon Army... What kind of man tries to kill an innocent girl over practically nothing!?"
Colonel Silver sweats profusely upon realizing just who this is.
"The girl with the horn... Y-You're Capsule Corporation's secret weapon!"
Tights sticks her tongue out with full confidence now.
"Try again, loser!~ Bikini is my baby sister, and I'm Dr. Briefs first daughter, Tights! You're really gonna get it now!"
He stands and sheds his coat with a scoff.
"A girl like you two still have no chance against me... Fire power may not work so I'll have to choke the life out of you instead."
Goku casually walks over to the sisters scratching his head.
"That guy is pretty sure of himself. Should I beat him up again?"
Bikini however undoes her hair as she approaches the cruel colonel.
"Let me have him. Coming after Tights makes this personal. You take on the others and keep Tights safe."
Goku puffs his chest up with an eager nod.
"That's my job as a bodyguard! Hyah!"
Goku runs ahead and leaps over Colonel Silver as he steps towards Bikini.
Colonel Silvers sneers as Bikini approaches him.
"We've been studying you actually, for quite awhile. I should have known better at first but now..."
He throws a jab, a feint that she dodges with ease, letting her get in close as he pulls a pistol with his other hand and places it right at her stomach.
"You can't defend yourself at this range!"
He fires and Bikini flinches. Tights' eyes go wide as she covers her mouth to stifle a scream.
"Bikini...!?"
Goku however watches without any worry surrounded by unconscious bodies, giggling at the reactions of both Tights and Colonel Silver as the flattened bullet hits the ground, Bikini not even scratched by it as she keeps her fierce gaze on the heartless terrorist.
"I don't think you studied enough."
Before he can pull back, she snatches the gun out if his hand and crushes it as if it were made of paper, eliciting a squeal from him as he steps back.
She then vanishes before his eyes, doubling over from a punch to the gut, then sent off his feet from an uppercut with the same fist Bikini throws out. Bikini then elbows him with that very arm in the chest and sends him hurtling back into the side of his truck.
Tights stands there in absolute awe.
"I-I knew she got stronger and everything but, I never thought she was this strong... She beat him all with one arm! Y-You go sis, yeah!~"
Goku smiles brightly idly appearing by her side as he hands her the Dragon Ball
"It'll take a bit more than some bully to be a problem for Bikini! She's way tough! By the way, these guys had this on them."
Bikini relaxes with a soothing sigh as she makes her way back to the two, eyeing Tights closely with a worried look.
"You aren't hurt anywhere, are you?"
Tights pats her sister's head giggling.
"Such a worrywart! You just took a bullet for me silly, I oughta be the one looking you over."
"Ah! Y-You're right! My new blouse..."
Bikini begins to tear up when she looks down at the whole in her top. Tights rolls her eyes.
"You can take a punch, a knife, bullets and even crazy energy blasts to the face but a hole in your shirt is what makes you cry?"
Bikini quivers as she clutches her shirt.
"Y-You picked this one out for me and I like it a lot...!"
The older sister laughs as looks to the defeated group.
"I'll sew it shut later, its just a tiny hole anyways, no one will notice. Still... The Red Ribbon Army is seriously dangerous. These guys were super small fry and if you two weren't here, I'd be buzzard food."
Goku hops onto the Flying Nimbus rubbing his stomach with a big smile.
"Can we have lunch before we move on though? I'm starving!"
Tights groans as she uses her plane capsule. The party flies off, unaware that Colonel Silver is still awake, albeit stubbornly moving on his last legs to the back of the truck. He lets out a sinister snicker as he pulls out a rocket launcher.
"I'll be rid of one of you pests on this day at least...! Die! Gah-!
His eyes go milk white as he feels a sharp pain in his torso. He falls to the ground barely clinging onto consciousness. An old bald man with just one tooth in his mouth and dressed as a scientist leans over him.
"You... Dr... K-Kochin...!?"
"I've been given permission by Commander Red to turn you into something useful, Silver. The next time you wake up, you'll be among the elite, a Bio-Warrior!"
The mad doctor cackles as Colonel Silvers drifts away...
Far away in the midst of a collection of islands, Krillin stands at the shore as he stands in the stance for the Kamehameha. Water gathers around him and soon floats into the air as he concentrates, but soon he falls over out of breath, panting.
"Darn! I just...! Can't get myself to focus!"
Yamcha huffs himself as he marches along the beach. He wears a shining turtle shell.
"A-At least you can move...! This thing is still crushing me... H-How did you even train in this?!"
Krillin snickers as he never did. That shell is a magical one enchanted by Starswirl as a punishment. Krillin isn't sure how it exactly works but he knows it gets heavier as time passes for some reason.
"You just gotta harness your ki, Yamcha. Otherwise you won't get to Bikini's level!~ How else are you gonna woo her?"
Yamcha's face turns beet red at the mention of the Unicorn. He then yells out as the shell grows even heavier and pins him to the ground.
"Agh! Sh-Shut up, baldie! I'm having a hard enough time as is!"
Krillin erupts in a laughing fit.
"Careful you don't get your new uniform dirty! Ms. Launch might be in her nasty form so could shoot you on sight if you ask her to wash it this time!"
Yamcha gulps before feeling much lighter. He stands to his feet confused before looking back to see the shell lost its luster.
"Huh? Hey! It's still heavy but I can manage with this!"
Starswirl clears his throat as he leans out the window of Kame House.
"Krillin! Don't bully the newcomer, now! Yamcha my boy, since you know your stuff, Roshi will be giving you a new lesson upon his return."
Launch steps out with a tray of lemonade. Her sapphire hair coming as a relief to the two students as she smiles warmly at them.
"I also made some drinks for both of you! Try to stay hydrated now, it will only get hotter from here on!"
Yamcha and Krillin hurry over to her and down their cups in moments.
"Ah! Finally, something not boiled sea water! Thanks, Ms. Launch!"
"Oh man this stuff is super refreshing! You make the best lemonade!"
Launch giggles at their gracious thanks.
"Just do your best and we can call it even! ... Oh! Mr. Starswirl? There's someone coming on the ocean!"
The wizened wizard steps out to see Turtle pulling something along with rope attached to his shell. The Ox King, battered and bruised heavily, barely holds onto a piece of driftwood just barely as big as himself.
Turtle shouts out as he gets on land.
"I-It's the Ox King! Please help!"
Yamcha is quick to lift the Ox King off of the driftwood with a pale face.
"M-Master Ox King! How could this happen!? Were you caught in a sea storm?! Where's ChiChi?!"
The Ox King weakly groans out in a sickly voice.
"A demon... A demon named Garlic took over my mountain... He-He has ChiChi...! He wants the Dragon Balls and has her hostage... I tried to stop him but he was too strong... Please, save ChiChi!"
He passes out then. Yamcha snaps his head at Starswirl speaking desperately.
"I have to save her! Master Starswirl, please get Master Roshi to back me up!"
Starswirl grows a grim shadow over his face as ancient memories resurface. He mumbles to himself caught in his own thoughts.
"Impossible... How could he reappear now, it should be impossible."
Yamcha shouts loudly at the Unicorn then.
"Master Starswirl! Old man, aren't you listening?!"
That snaps the aged Unicorn out of his thoughts. He sighs waving a hand to the Ox King.
"In time, Yamcha. Let me tend to Ox King first... Garlic Jr. is above your level by a far margin. I would know, as I sealed him away myself many years ago."
Krillin stammers in shock at the reveal as he helps Yamcha set the Ox King down on a beach chair while Launch runs inside the house for the first-aid.
"W-Wa-Wait! You know the monster that did this to him and beat him before!?"
The old wizard nods stroking his luxurious beard.
"Garlic Jr. is the son of a terrible being. He is of the Makyan Demons, natives of a rogue planet called the Makyo Star, though how they became stranded on Earth I have no clue... They mingled with the most evil of humanity and their descendants gave birth to the Meshikiya region, where I would meet Garlic-"
Yamcha interrupts him with a shout.
"Give us the lecture another time, old man! My master is dying right now!"
Starswirl leans back scratching his cheek nervously.
"R-Right...!"
With a beam from his magical horn, the Ox King is able to stand on his own completely healed. He bows to Starswirl trying to keep the tears in his eyes from falling.
"Thank you b-but... I need to gather the Dragon Balls, sir! I must absolutely save ChiChi at all costs!"
The wizard holds a hand up at him taking a stern tone.
"Hold on, my boy. Garlic Jr. is merely using you. I'm sure you felt his evil even without having to focus."
The Ox King lowers his head as sweat beads down his pale face; the fear and dread of meeting the demon as well as losing his daughter is nearly too much.
"B-But-!"
Starswirl closes the raised hand. The Ox King willingly silences himself at the gesture.
"I am not saying we won't save ChiChi. I am saying that there are very few who can. Thankfully, I am one of them."
The Ox King sighs in great relief. He snatches the smaller old man off the ground in an audibly bone crushing hug.
"Thank you, Master! I knew I could count on you!"
"Aghck! Agh! A-Ah...! Ahaha! Y-Yes, we and the boys sh-shall help you...! Please put me down before my ribs puncture my lungs!"
Yamcha rubs his neck at Starswirl as the Unicorn is dropped onto his feet coughing.
"Master Starswirl, thanks for helping out, but when you said we and the boys... Who else do you mean? Master Roshi isn't around right now..."
"Oho!~ Sometimes you'll find help in the most unlikely places if you know where to look and how to get it."
Launch arrives with the first aid but stops to tilt her head when she sees the Ox King on his feet.
"Oh, did I take too long? I'm sorry for being late."
Starswirl makes his way to her.
"Nonsense, dear. In fact, you're right on time. By the way, bless you."
"Hm? Did I sneeze earlier, sir?"
Starswirl blows a magical wind to her, a tiny sparkling cloud that floats just under her nose, vanishing as she raises her head before sneezing. The rest of the group all lean back in terror as Launch's hair turns a bright gold.
With a feral snarl, she seizes Starswirl by his shirt collar and pulls him close to shout in his face.
"Y'wrinkled moldy fossil! Whaddya want with me now?! I ain't gonna make those brats any damn drink when they can boil sea water!"
Starswirl only frowns slightly as he maintains his calm composure.
"I'll have you know that the only wrinkles on me are on my forehead. Still, hoe would you like to make a lot of money doing one job?"
Immediately, Launch releases the Unicorn and straightens his clothes with a stoic glare.
"How much cash we talkin' here? Pretty sure y'know I'm an expensive gal, top-quality, 'n top quality means top pay!"
Starswirl gives the Ox King a knowing leer. Having suspected this, the large martial artist relents.
"A-All the treasure in my mountain... Garlic Jr. made it clear he didn't care about my wealth and I put most of it in a bank off on a remote island after last time. Y-You can have that..."
Launch's eyes sparkle with pure delight. She clasps her hands together cheerfully chirping.
"Th' Great Treasures of Fry Pan Mountain?! It's every's thief's dream t' take even a piece of that loot! I'll be set for life!~ This'll make up for th' tournament plenty!"
Starswirl has to bite his tongue to keep himself from reminding her that she blew away her winnings herself. Remaining silent for the sake of peace, he waves his staff and summons a submarine from the sea.
"Usually I would teleport us, however Garlic Jr. can sense my magic and all of your ki rather intuitively. We'll have to go there the long way using this."
Krillin gulps then as he glances to the Ox King.
"A-Are you sure we'll all be able to fit in that thing?"
Yamcha sweats a little as he gives his first master the same quick look.
"I-It looks pretty spacious but..."
The Ox King says nothing as he can feel their gazes on them. Launch however speaks freely.
"Yeah, wha' if King Fatass here sinks us t' th' ocean floor as soon as he takes a step onboard?"
The trio of martial artist all look at Launch wearily, more worried about her explosive temperament than the Ox King's weight. She sticks her tongue out at them before snapping at Starswirl.
"Y'know it takes at least four people t' drive one of these too, right? I know how too at least."
The wizened wizard reassures them as his horn glows with a brilliant silver aura.
"I can take the task of the other spots. I've actually wanted to drive this thing for a very long time!"
Krillin then eyes his master with a suspicious look.
"Is that the real reason we aren't teleporting there?"
Starswirl swings his staff striking Krillin upside the head with a disgruntled grunt.
"Hush! My previous point still stands! Garlic Jr. more than likely has his own minions out and about looking for the Dragon Balls. We'll have to use that to our advantage and get to him when he is all alone. Today, you are all heroes now. Let us venture forth!"
