Hello everyone. I am glad everyone enjoyed the previous chapter. There is more salt to come. Now onto the responses.
ShimmeringGem81: Yes she did and will be again.
Guest: Thank you.
GirlFish: He needs to learn that all actions have consequences. I think that will come up in the finale in my opinion.
Kaymenace: My updates are random, I don't really have a schedule. And yes she is.
Kuria Amaya: I find it amazing that it can actually be done. I find that even in the show she wouldn't believe her. No, nothing will, he will be punished. I am on the fence with that question so I don't think I'll tell you for now.
Bloody Rogue Dragon deity king: It depends what kind of stories you like. Exposed and salt are my favourites.
Ru Chitaka: It is more of a two part chapter. And no I don't. It was supposed to be shorter but I didnt think that many people would be interested so It will be a little longer. My updates are random. I will. I have learned my lesson for that in the past. Do the same too.
DiamondHeart31: All to come.
bloody dragon fang: Oh all to come. But not in the way you think. They won't appear just yet but it will be answered.
themugglepadme24: I wish he would do more of it in the show. You'll see. There's something about Morgana that no one knew. I fail to believe that everyone in the school has no brain cells.
UsSoGoodIComment: I promise I won't. More salt to come.
Nampayo: It's amazing that people can do that.
Phantombullets240: Indeed.
blackwhitewolfgirl17: Thank you very much. It will be mentioned.
:I'm glad you like the story and Morgana.
Dylanfritsch0: (I had to translate your response so I hope what I say is correct.) Oh he will, the lie about his mother is only the first thing to come. No it isn't I hate that phrase with a passion. Thank you very much for your kind words.
Gensitapotter: (I had to translate your response so I hope what I say is correct.) I am glad you are enjoying and continue to read on.
Lila paused in her sentence and everyone else had to blink twice. Did she say checkmate? Everyone turned their eyes to the board, where Morgana's queen was now sitting on H5 while said girl herself had a plain look on her face. Marinette could have burst out laughing. Adrien looked slightly worried at the idea of another akuma but he kept his mouth shut.
"I'm sorry?" Lila managed to say.
"Checkmate. I didn't stutter, did I?" Morgana asked innocently.
"How on earth is that checkmate? Are you sure you didn't cheat?" Lila asked sceptically, causing murmurs from her classmates. Oh, so if I win it's cheating. Fine, if you want to play that card, Morgana thought with anger pulsing through her veins.
"Markov is capable of detecting cheating…right?" Morgana asked, turning her eyes to Max.
"Of course. Markov, did Morgana cheat?" Max asked.
"Negative. Morgana followed all the rules and played to the rules. A very good game," Markov said, which then made everyone gasp in surprise.
"How?" Mylene asked.
"She moved her pawns so Lila's King would be pinned by her players. Any other move is useless," Markov answered.
"Nice one Morgana! I had no idea you were that amazing at games!" Marinette said. She was speaking the truth as even she had no idea what Morgana was fully capable of.
"T-Thank you Marinette. You a-are most kind," Morgana said with a smile. Several comments came to agree while Alya almost scoffed at Marinette's comment.
"I mean… I wasn't going to say anything…but I kinda let you win. You know you are the new girl," Lila said shyly, bringing the attention back to her.
"Really?"
"Wow!"
"Aw that's so nice of you Lila!"
"Yeah, good for you," Adrien said almost tiredly. Marinette frowned at him, but it was nothing compared to the glint in Morgana's eyes.
"Oh c-come on now L-Lila…there's no need to be a bad sport," Morgana said.
"Hey don't be so rude!" Alya said harshly as Lila started to fake cry.
"Calm down," Nino said although Marinette wasn't sure who he was talking to. Morgana titled her head to one side.
"Well…if you let me…win…then w-why did you accuse me of cheating?" Morgana asked, putting her elbows on the table, and leaning on her palms.
"What?" Lila almost snapped.
"Clearly…you didn't know how I-I was playing…so there's no way y-you could have let me win. Maybe you need more…lessons from Mr Fischer. We are talking about the same one…right?" Morgana said and if Marinette didn't know her any better, she could almost say she was being smug.
"Well, that's true," Alix said.
"Yeah, Bobby Fischer never loses. You are sure it's the same one?" Max asked thoughtfully.
"C'mon Lila, she beat you fair and square," Nino said, giving the Italian a playful shove. Said Italian was picturing burning holes through Morgana's head as she heard the doubt going around in her followers.
"I'm sorry…I just didn't expect you to be that good," Lila said through her teeth. Morgana then put a gleeful smile on her face. Marinette wanted to hug the girl so much at this tactic, while Adrien kept looking around for a familiar butterfly.
"No worries! Maybe…one of your diseases d-did something. Now can we have a picture?" Morgana asked brightly.
Lila forced a smile and handed her phone over to Morgana. She was very carefully to have closed all of her apps as well as having people close by so the green-eyed girl didn't go through her personal business. That was just plain rude. Morgana leaned over and took the phone, careful to not drop it. She then swiped to the left so the camera opened, and Lila came over to sit beside Morgana. Lila reeked of perfume, so Morgana had to hold her breath. Both girls smiled as the phone took the picture.
"I still think Morgana cheated," Alya mumbled as Lila put her phone away. Morgana had very sharp hearing, however.
"You're more than…welcome to play me…if you can," Morgana said sweetly.
"I will!" Alya declared.
"Do you know how to play?" Marinette asked curiously. Alya went red at this.
"Of course, I do! You just move them square by square!" Alya answered. Cue long silence. Cue Markov.
"That's not how it works. You don't seem to grasp the concept of chess," Markov answered.
"Shut up, you stupid robot!" Alya snapped, causing Max to jump to the robot's defence.
"Don't insult Markov because you don't understand how to play a game!" Max shouted.
"It's a stupid game!" Alya yelled back.
This caused a shouting match between the pair which then drew everyone in to start yelling. Lila of course started crying and trying make it about her, but the shouting drowned her out. Morgana hummed to herself as she packed up her chess board and placed in her bag, before practically skipping off to grab something to eat before the bell rang. While the class continued to argue, Marinette couldn't say she wasn't enjoying the class turning on each other, all from a simple sentence that Morgana made. Adrien couldn't say the same.
"You don' think there could be an akuma do you?" Adrien asked. Marinette almost rolled her eyes.
"Because Lila is a sore loser? No, she'll survive," Marinette said. Adrien sighed in slight annoyance and turned to the bluenette.
"Marinette please stop…" Adrien started but Marinette cut him off.
"No, I will not stop. I can say what I like. I am allowed to think what I like. I am not insulting her to her face. Anything else you'd like to add Agreste?" Marinette asked, her remaining respect for the blonde leaving.
"But Marinette you have to understand where I am coming from," Adrien pleaded. Plagg's words echoed in his head, but he still wanted to at least try with Marinette once more. Or as many times as it took.
"Adrien, I said no. All you are, is an enabler for a bully and her sheep. You are no better than Lila. Now if that is all, I want to get to my next class," Marinette said, turning swiftly on her heel and walking away from the deflated boy.
"Oh my…" Marinette quietly squealed.
She actually stood up to Adrien! Her friends would be so proud! Ah she wanted to hug Luka so much right now! Whoa what! Her cheeks flushed at the thought. No, bad Marinette! Every student that walked past her wondered why steam was coming out of her ears.
Marinette was practically bursting with excitement in her last few classes. The class seemed to have some unsolved tension thanks to Alya and Marinette was loving it. The seeds of doubt were cast and the best part? Marinette just kept smiling. Since she wasn't part of the argument, she wasn't under any tension, and neither was Morgana or Adrien. Granted Marinette was still the outcast of the class but that was beside the point. Lila had oddly been late to class, as had Morgana for some reason which puzzled Marinette but she knew Morgana knew what she was doing. When no one had been looking, she had given Tikki a delicious cookie to celebrate. The Kwami was just as gleeful about the chess game. However, the red carpet was tomorrow and then plan…well it was now starting to sink in. Finally, the bell rang, and everyone cleared out of the classroom to head for home. As she took a fresh breath of air as she left the school, she saw Luka and Kagami waiting near the bottom end of the entrance. She smiled happily and then started to give a wave, only to feel two hands press on her back.
"Hey-!" Marinette yelled out, only to find herself falling.
She heard cries of alarm ring out and as she was in mid fall, she knew it was too late to use her inner Ladybug to save herself. She couldn't do the plan with a broken arm or leg! As she prepares for the feeling of concrete to hit her body, she instead felt two arms catch her. She opened her eyes to see Luka looking down at her with a worried look on his face. Is she wasn't so shocked, she would have fainted. Her cheeks heated up immediately.
"Mari are you okay?" he asked worriedly.
"Yeah, I'm okay, thanks to you," Marinette said, trying to stop her heart from pounding in her chest.
"Who pushed you?" Kagami asked angrily.
"Pushed?" Marinette asked in a daze.
"Oh, Marinette are you okay?" a voice called. Question answered.
Lila came running up along with a few others in class, along with Adrien who genuinely looked worried. His eyes did flash down when he saw Kagami.
"Of course, she isn't! Had it not been for Luka, she would have had a serious injury!" Kagami snapped.
"Shut up Ice Queen, it's not our fault that she's stupidly clumsy!" Alya retorted.
"She was pushed! How could you have missed that? Oh wait, you're a tabloid writer, you do miss out facts, don't you?" Kagami said bluntly.
"How dare you! Ladybug always interviews me because I am a professional!" Alya stated.
"Really? I have seen your blogs. She hasn't given you any new interviews in the past few months," Kagami said, making Alya almost flinch with hurt.
"Don't be mean to my bestie. Ladybug herself told me that she's been so busy lately, so she doesn't have time," Lila said, rubbing Alya's back. Kagami rolled her eyes.
"Don't get me started with you. Ladybug wouldn't be seen dead with you. The last thing she needs besides an akuma is a lying parasite," Kagami said, making Lila yet again cry crocodile tears.
"Kagami, please stop insulting everyone," Adrien said, almost firmly but a deadpan look from Kagami made him back away a little.
"Oh, shut up Agreste, talk to me when you've grown an actual spine," Kagami said coldly.
"Whoa dude calm down! Is Marinette actually okay since you're still holding her?" Nino asked. Sometimes they couldn't tell whose side he was on. Luka carefully placed Marinette down, although they were both secretly disappointed.
"What, you can't get the guy you like so you're leeching of Juleka's brother? You have no class, do you?" Alya sneered.
"Don't you dare talk about Luka like that! He is my friend! And I haven't liked that guy for months now! Of course, you wouldn't notice because you barely talk to me," Marinette snapped sharply, making both girls shocked at her confidence.
"Oh everyone…please don't fight because of me…" Lila said.
"Your melody is bitter and off tune. No one would ever fight because of you," Luka said with slight disgust.
"How dare…!" Alya said but Nino then interrupted.
"Is that Morgana?" he asked.
The group's eyes then turned to see Morgana standing by the steps of the school. She was wrapping her arms around herself, and tear streaks could be seen across her face. Her eyes were red from crying.
"Morgana?" Lila called sweetly, hoping to draw attention back to her looking like a saint.
Morgana eyes latched on the group and the moment she saw Lila coming towards her, she had a petrified look on her face. She covered her face with her hands and ran off sobbing. The surrounding students all looked at Lila with distain. Lila looked more confused than anyone. Luka and Kagami were aware of Morgana's intent, so they chose to keep quiet.
"What's wrong with her?" Lila asked.
"I don't know," Alya said in confusion. It then occurred in Marinette head about earlier. Lila and Morgana were both late. While she assumed nothing was wrong…just maybe.
"Lila you aren't still sour about losing that chess game, are you?" Marinette asked, causing confusion.
"Of course, not Marinette, we sorted it all out," Lila said.
"Oh, I see…" Marinette trailed off.
"If you have something to say, spit it out," Alya said, making Luka hold Kagami back slightly.
"Well…not that I am implying anything… but did you say something to Morgana about it during class? You were both late. Morgana is very shy and I'm sure you may not have meant it but maybe you came off as harsh?" Marinette asked with a shrug.
"Wha-?" Lila said in shock and hidden annoyance. Granted she had planned to corner Morgana in bathroom, but she'd never shown up. Of course, unknown to her Morgana predicted this and had made sure to go back into class after Lila. Perfect crime.
"Who do you think you are?" Alya sneered.
"I mean she did beat Lila pretty bad. Remember when Max got beaten in a game?" Nino asked Alya huffed at that but still a frown did cross her face.
"I didn't say anything like that to her! How could you say that?" Lila asked tearfully.
"Marinette didn't. She only asked if you did. Maybe you should clear the air with Morgana tomorrow just in case," Luka said, putting his hands on Marinette's shoulders protectively. Adrien found himself twitching when he did that.
"Whatever. Lila isn't a bully unlike you. C'mon guys," Alya said, linking arms with Lila and walking off, although Nino and Adrien looked like they were doing some serious thinking.
"Game?" Kagami asked.
"Morgana beat Lila in a chess game in three moves. Lila said she was trained by Mr Fischer and accused her cheating. Max's robot said otherwise, and it turned into a whole thing," Marinette said with a shrug.
"Three moves? Wow," Luka said in amazement.
"You really are surrounded by idiots. Fischer is dead. But did she really threaten Morgana?" Kagami asked.
"Well, you know that Lila did it to me so I wouldn't put it past her. But Morgana would have spoken back more than me and Lila would have been more onto her in the lessons so I'm guessing no," Marinette said.
"And she didn't even say anything. It was all in her face. So, no one can accuse Morgana of lying nor you because there were witnesses…" Luka said in thought.
"In another life that girl would have made an excellent Hawkmoth," Kagami stated, making the other two shudder.
"Well with that horrible image in mind, anyone for some baked treats?" Marinette asked, with the two giving eager smiles in response. As they walked, Marinette moved ever so closer to Luka, to which he smiled at her warmly.
Morgana sat in the park. Her eyes wandered up to the sky as she watched the clouds go by. This place was boring. Scanning her eyes over the people currently in the area, she could read them like a book. She then looked at the plain piece of small card in front of her as she tapped it with her pen. Morgana then shut her eyes and looked back.
FLASHBACK:
"No worries! Maybe…one of your diseases d-did something. Now can we have a picture?" Morgana asked brightly.
She watched Lila pull her phone from her pocket. Relatively new model. Just came out last year. Good condition. Password protected. Obviously. Fingerprint patterns show it to be a random number. Perhaps. 040613. No. That was something else. This would have to be investigated. As Lila unlocked the phone, she stretched her hand over the table. Morgana reached out her hand to take the phone. She took the bottom end of her phone and as she did so, her finger slipped across the home button, which, in just two seconds, revealed the most recent screens that Lila had been used. She blinked, taking a mental picture before the screen returned to normal.
She got her end of the bet now.
END OF FLASHBACK:
"Foolish," Morgana mumbled as she wrote something down and placed it in an envelope. She then took out a second piece of card and wrote something else down. This however, she kept. She placed it in her phone case. For purposes she would be going into later.
"Queen takes rook. Your move Lila," Morgana said to herself with a smile.
Aurore sat patiently in the locker room as she looked around curiously. She had no idea who left that note, nor did know why they left it. She was here a little after five due to a meeting, so she hoped she wasn't too late. Granted the president members had discussed it with her thoroughly and they were making plans and events that the lair had to do as well as attend extra meetings. She was so angry at how they treated Marinette. They all were. So now they were going to show how much effort Marinette put into things. But why that note had wanted her to meet here was another thing. The fact that it was news related made her think it was something serious. She was so in her thoughts she didn't realise that someone was standing a little away from her. Said person put an envelope on the bench and then quickly left, slamming the door as they want.
"Ah! Who's there?" Aurore shouted, holding out her parasol.
No one answered. She looked around the room and there didn't seem to be a trace of anyone. That is what she thought until she looked at the bench and saw the envelope. How had someone been that quiet?! Cautiously, she picked up the envelope and opened it. Out fell a letter and a small piece of card. She picked up the letter first and read it out.
Aurore.
You are wise to follow my instructions. All of this will make sense in due time.
I want you to research something for me. Once you have finished, leave the information in a place no one would think to look. I will collect it.
Aurore hummed to herself at this. Research something? Interesting. Wonder what could be so important. She then looked at the little card in her hand and turned it over to reveal a name written on the back.
Elena Wilder
So the chess game was only the beginning. Morgana needs more players as well as more information. But who is this Elena? You know what to do to find out. This story will get darker from here on so just a warning for you all. Review, follow and favourite for more. Bye for now.
