Emmett POV:
I opened my eyes and groaned from the bright sun coming through the window. I rolled over, shoved my face into the pillow and felt Rose's body shift next to mine.
I smiled at her, moving her hair from her face. I was officially dating the most beautiful and perfect woman out there and I was so damn happy about it. I watched her eyes open as she curled up next to me.
"Good morning.", She yawned.
"Good morning", I replied as I kissed her forehead. "Did you sleep good?".
"Very good. You?". I smiled, thinking of everything that happened last night and the fact that we were now dating.
"Much better knowing you're my girlfriend".
She giggled and sat up, covering her breasts with the blanket. "Lucky you.", She looked at the clock. "It's 8:15 and check out is at 9:00. We should probably get ready and head out.".
I stretched out and sat up. "Quick question. When are we going to tell our friends and family because I'm so ready to show you to the world", I smiled and kissed her shoulder.
"I'm okay with whenever. We've held out on this for so long and I feel like no one will be surprised.".
Rose had originally rode with Bella and Edward, however she was going to ride back home with me. It was a nice feeling, if I'm being honest. It truly felt like a real relationship already.
I smiled as Rose did a light face of makeup. I gave her a quick kiss. "See you in a bit.".
"I'll be down in like 10 minutes.", She smiled at me.
I turned and walked to the door, turning the handle. As I slipped out of her room, I walked down to mine. I needed to get into some fresh clothes and grab my bag. Just as I reached my door, I heard a familiar voice.
"Emmett, I'm glad we bumped into you. We need to talk really quick", My father said.
What could they possibly want to talk about? Did I do something wrong? My mind raced as I was trying to imagine what this talk could be about.
"Okay.", I unlocked my door. "Come in.". I said as I walked in. They followed me and I sat on the hotel bed. I kind of felt like a teenager in trouble.
"We don't want to intrude. You're 29 and can do whatever you want to. However, we want to make sure you're being safe.", My mom started out. I looked at her and she could tell I was confused. "Em, we came off the elevator and seen you and Rose last night. Obviously, we're not going to complain. We love her and we want both of you to be happy, while also being safe.".
I felt the blood rush to my cheeks. Okay, cool. So my parents knew I had sex last night and they knew who it was with. That's exciting. "I, uh…", I stumbled over my words. "We're, uh, being safe. But we, uh, we are actually dating now. She makes me happy, mom. And I love her.", I admitted.
"We know. We've all known you two love each other. We just didn't know when you two would be the ones to figure it out.", My dad chuckled.
I took a deep breath. "So that was it? I'm not in trouble?", I asked.
"No, not at all.", My mom hugged me. "We just wanted to ensure everything was okay and you were being safe. Anyways, we are going to go. We're catching our flight to Mexico in an hour. We love you and we are so happy for you.", My dad hugged me next.
I smiled at them, thanking each of them and watched them leave. As the door closed, I sighed of relief. That just scared the shit out of me. I quickly changed into a new suit and headed down to the lobby to check out.
After checking out and finally making it to my car, I sat in the driver seat thinking of the past 24 hours. It all felt so unreal and like a dream. I started thinking about what my dad had said. Had Rose and I really loved each other for years and we both just refused to acknowledge? Was it easier for us to argue and hate each other rather than trying to love?
Rosalie POV:
I headed down the elevator empty handed. It felt weird, but Emmett insisted he take all of our bags down to his car. I turned in my key and checked out. I walked out of the hotel and noticed Emmett's jeep parked near the door.
I jumped in and smiled up at him. "Ready?".
He smiled at me, kissing my lips. "Ready. Do you need breakfast or a coffee before we head out?"
I put on my seatbelt, thinking for a second. "Umm, can we get both? I'm hungry, but also need caffeine.".
"Of course.", He started driving and put his hand on my thigh. "Listen, I want to tell you something because I don't want to keep secrets.".
I bit my lip. He doesn't want to keep secrets? Where is that coming from? "Did I do something wrong?", I asked nervously. My mind was going all different directions trying to figure out what he was going to say.
"What?", He asked confused. "You didn't do anything, Rose. I was going to tell you that my parents seen us last night and confronted me.".
I looked over at him, wide eyed. "What? I mean, I heard the elevator ding last night, but we got inside before I thought anyone could see us", I explained. "Are they mad at you? Or me? Or maybe both?".
"Actually, no. They just explained that they want us happy and safe. Then when I told them we were dating, my dad basically said it was about time we realized we loved each other", He chuckled. "Which I thought was pretty bizarre until I got to thinking. We really have used the hate to push back the true feelings.", he lightly squeezed my thigh.
I listened to his words, nodding in agreement. "'He isn't wrong though. Look at the late nights you spend cutting out stuff for Ali and I, or the times you would just come in and hang out with us. Now that we're not blind, you can clearly see why you hung out so much".
"Yup. So, I just wanted you to know that they know and they're excited. Anyways, where do you want food and coffee from?", He asked.
"Burrito from McDonald's? Frappe from Starbucks?', I asked.
"Sounds good to me. Hey, you got any plans tonight?", He stopped at the stop light and looked over at me. I shook my head no. "I'm gonna cook you dinner at my place. I have a meeting when we get back home, but we can aim for like 6?".
I giggled and blushed. "Emmett McCarthy is going to cook?"
"Hey! I can cook! I make some really good lasagna and my steaks are really good! You just wait. One bite and you're gonna fall in love.", He laughed.
"I'm kidding. Dinner sounds good, but no beer or wine.", I smiled.
"Wait, Rosalie Hale is declining wine? Are you sick?", He gave me a look.
"No, not sick. But, the past few times we've been around each other, it has included alcohol. We need to push past that and learn to be around each other sober.".
"Oh, yeah, that's true. No alcohol. I really want this to work out between us.".
We had finally made it home from the wedding and we were both pretty tired. The ride home was a blast and we were opening up with each other. I had learned that he went to college on a full scholarship from football, and he was allergic to bananas and peanut butter. I had told him I was also allergic to peanut butter then we joked about how we never knew that. Emmett tried Starbucks coffee for the first time and decided I was crazy for liking that. He believed it was way too strong and sugary, however he drinks black coffee. He had dropped me off at my house and told me he'd call me after his meeting to come pick me back up.
As I showered, I couldn't help but smile. The past 24 hours have been amazing. Emmett was already treating me like a queen. I wasn't allowed to open my own doors, he refused to let me buy my breakfast or coffee, and I wasn't expected to carry my luggage. It was definitely a big change from the previous douchebags I've dated and it was such a nice experience. I still didn't understand why we were blind to whatever is happening, but I also had to believe that things work in a mysterious way and there's always a plan.
After my shower, I got out and wrapped my body in the towel. Do I wear a nice dress or dress casual? We were pretty comfortable with each other, but this would also be our first date. I grabbed my phone and sent a text to Emmett.
'Hey, random. But are we dressing nice or casually? I know we're doing dinner at your house but it is our first date so I wasn't sure'
I dried off and bit my lip as I slid on some white lacy panties. "There's no reason to be nervous. You know him, he isn't a stranger. He's seen you completely naked before", I told myself as I heard my phone vibrate.
'Dress nice. Although it's at my house, it is still a date! I'll be in my best suit.'
I slightly smiled and replied to his text. 'Sounds like a plan. You can head this way whenever. I'll be ready in about 30 minutes'.
I sat my phone down and walked to my closet. I pulled out a red dress. It was fancy and would have to do. My semi fancy dresses were dirty from the past weekend.
I had just finished curling my hair when I heard a knock on the door. I turned off my curling iron and smiled in the mirror. Here we go. I walked to the door and opened it. Standing in front of me was Emmett holding a vase of roses.
"Wow.", He smiled at me. "You look very beautiful."
"Thank you.", I blushed, smiling at him.
"I got you some roses. Is that cheesy?", He asked as he handed them to me. "I wasn't sure what your favorite flowers were, but I wanted to get you something.". I took the flowers from him and gave him a kiss.
"Thank you. I really appreciate it. You didn't have to get me anything though.", He came in and closed the door. I sat the flowers on the counter and turned to him. "I just need to get my shoes on and we can head out.".
"Okay. Sounds good.", He watched me as I walked over to the couch and sat down to get my shoes on. I slipped the heels onto my feet and grabbed my purse. He held out his hand to help me up. I giggled and looked up at him as I stood up.
"How did I get blessed with such a gentleman?", I asked as he bent down and kissed my cheek.
"How did I get blessed with spoiling you?", He responded as we walked to the door. I grabbed my keys as he opened the door for me and followed me out. I locked the door and walked to his jeep. He was already waiting for me with the door opened. God, I was so lucky to have him in my life.
The drive to his house was pretty chill. We both told each other not to be nervous because we weren't strangers and he told me the plans. We were having steak with a baked potato and he planned on making brownies for dessert. He told me he thought we could just relax and enjoy the night, which I was 100% okay with. I didn't want a big extravagant night.
