Today was the day that the brown haired boy went to the market with a digimon to the market with a plan to buy food and lots of herbs.
Tai wore a short sleeved blue shirt under a big brown coat enveloped most of his clothing underneath that he had to drag around as it was almost touch the ground. His goggle are hidden for the most part, unless he wished to be found quickly. Though he knew it's pointless since he's a human, or as the digimon called him a digidestined. Not many are here except for his friends and Gennai.
He was tingling with excitement as he started walking at the right side of the digimon. The pair of human and digimon made their way through the street towards the digimon market area without problem, seeing it's a free market.
It was crowded. A lot of digimon walking around while he blended in. Although, his features are noticeable as he's a human and digidestined. He was glad the brown coat worked like charms since it covered his whole body.
"You know what they say about feeling down? You jist need to get back up." The sheer attempt to make a joke has Tai chuckling. He was thankful to meet a kind digimon to help his frail figure.
The walk was slow and steady as they meet a lot of stand with digimon selling lots of materials. He didn't realize he was approached by a digimon.
"Hello, young lad. I sell a lot of rare eggs. What would you like? I could show—" The machine-like digimon leaned in closer and Tai backed away slightly. Psychemon noticed his discomfort and giving the machine digimon a glare that make it put his hands up in surrender.
"Sorry." Psychemon waited until the machine digimon walked away before he turned to the young boy.
"This is a market. Watch out for someone like them. They tended to trick or even steal once they closed to their target." He said softly and Tai responded with a quick nod, still looking a little afraid.
"Wait here, okay? I need to get something." Then the dark reptile digimon left Tai standing in the central plaza. All by himself.
Tai looked at the central plaza and he saw that there was one man standing, or what's look like a man. Its different feature was a long black ears pointed out of the same colored eerie black robe.
It walked towards him. The surrounding area grew cold and darker. The stale air suffocate him so much and the only thing before him was the man-like digimon grinned evilly. He took act to set a brisk pace, moving backward and his breathing brought an uneasy and cold feeling filled his lungs as it seemed to press in on him. He was all alone, almost like the busty activities was never there and he still numbly move backwards as if there was nothing he could do but Tai couldn't help himself, he turned around and run away.
He could hear how his rapid breath was shallow as he weaved between the scattered digimon and buildings to avoid being caught. He didn't know who was the digimon but his instinct told him it's not friendly. So, he kept running and regaining his faster pace through the street.
'Where's Psychemon?! Did he--'
His thoughts were cut off as he suddenly ran past a gold tinted mirror, Psychemon waving frantically at him.
"In here, hurry!" Psychemon exclaimed in a hushed whisper as Tai stopped for a second to catch his breath before he was pulled inside by the same digimon from the mirror.
They didn't hear anything but the steps of the shadow getting closer. The two waited and holding their breath as it loomed over them and gave a threatening glare before vanished into thin air.
Cracks started to form at the mirror, scaring the two of them inside. When they could no longer see it, they released a short breath in relief as they slumped against each other.

Not long after the incident with the strange digimon, Tai was raging mad about what happened in the market and left alone by Psychemon. The latter didn't have anything to say as he was being scolded by the young boy in front of him.
"What the hell happen, Psychemon?! Who was that?! He's practically targeting me!" Tai yelled as the reptile digimon put his paws together and mentally sighed.
"Yes, I will explain." Psychemon shrugged.
"That was Ghoul digimon. Ever since before you come here, they started to appear around the continents and wreaking havoc wherever they go and there's no one to stop it but Azulongmon. Then we realized our saviour are nothing but an old myth that disappeared along with our hope." The dark reptile digimon smiled sadly as he recalled how dark it is when it came.
The hollow it brings, fear that compelled others to kneel before him just by standing there. Long black ears pointed out of its hood followed the coat as it radiated authority and blood-red eyes peeked at him so to force us to do its bidding.
He was clearly a digimon, but there's more to how he looks and Psychemon knew one thing, the digiworld was near the brink of its end and the key to save it was the boy in front of him.
"Here, Tai." He offered a drinks mixed with herbs but the latter still holding a wooden cup filled with yesterday's drink refused.
Inside the market, Psychemon trying to make a more potent medicine for the brown haired boy using the right kind of herbs to treat his condition with a low risk of addiction unlike the medicine from before but Tai flatly refused.
"No, this is fine." Those words were what made him sad. The hope he still hold on to was crushed by the stubborn child who never even tried to understand. He understood how painful it is to live with his condition and the hard treatment that came with it. But he still willing to try again later so he nodded and relented to his answer.
