Secondly, There are going to be some changes for this story.
Well a lot of them actually.
Let me just lay it down.
First and Foremost, Barry and Iris are not together, well they were, but they broke up, let's just say, shit happened and they are not together anymore, and West-Allen marriage did not occur.
Second, Barry does disappear in the future but comes back, as he got sucked in the speed force, so he technically did not die.
Nora is the daughter of Iris West and Barry Allen, so you can guess that they are separated with an bun in the oven also this would mean that Nora that came to past was born in 2018 not in 2023.
Nora still doesn't like her mother, they have their differences.
Bart Allen is not like the one that was in the show, Impulse is going to be a totally different person, and with a total different background and will probably be older than Nora (I like Barry Allen, Wally West and Bart Allen of the comics but Bart would still not be like that one from the comics,...somewhat, I will probably make my own version of Bart that would be a mix of comics with my own twist to it.)

Barry was happy.
Granted past few months have been a whole lot of crazy with the whole thing with the Thinker, Nazi version of most of his friends, his break up with Iris, which no one except for Cisco, Cecile, Ralph and Oliver, probably Felicity and Kara too, know about, but for some reason both him and Iris were just relieved that they broke up.
It's not like they didn't tried, both of them tried their best, heck he even went to a shrink, which he would never do but did after having a talk with both Cisco and Caitlin, hell both even agreed to get married when both didn't want too, which they both learned two months later when they post-poned their marriage, and then decided not too.
Nobody except for Cisco and Oliver, will know how grateful they were to the Nazi's from Earth-X.
Even after the fiasco from Earth-X, they tried so hard for few months, hell when he found out she was pregnant he tried again, but this time the trying was from one side only and she just told him how she wanted to break up. They had a fight after that, but the whole fight was pointless, both knew that, until both broke down, and they agreed to break up, and how both told each other how relieved they were for the break up.
Which Cisco knows about because he decided to crash with him.
(Flashback 3 and half months ago)
"So..." Cisco begins looking at his best friend. Barry had called in before asking if he could crash with him for few months. "I am sorry if I am asking but did the Flashpoint happen again? " He asks and Barry looks up at him a weird look over his face. "If not then what's going on?!"
"Me and Iris broke up." Barry says bluntly and Cisco almost fell of his couch as he turned to see Barry unpacking few of his things.
"Wha--wh--what?!" Cisco shouts looking at him. "How? When? Why?"
"Well for the what?" Barry begins. "We both decided we were not actually in love." He paused for a moment before continuing on. "Well we do love each other, but not the way we both thought we did."
"What do you mean not the way you thought you did!?" Cisco asks.
"I am explaining Cisco!" Barry says as he takes a seat beside him. "Let me finish first." Cisco nodded his head before he spoke up. "So next was how, right?" Cisco nodded his head. "We were both fighting when we decided to end our relationship." Barry says bringing few bottle of beers for both him and Cisco.
"A single fight does not lead to break up." Cisco says. "Especially a mutual break up with how you are saying, both of you ended the relationship." Barry looked at Cisco before turning back and taking a large swig of his bottle.
"I hate the fact that I can't get drunk." Barry says as he looks at the bottle. "And we've been having a lot of fights and arguments about least amount of things, like why was the remote not near the T.V. and few minor things."
"Its a good thing you can't get drunk, I still remember the Bachelor Party, much more clearly than others who were there." Cisco says and Barry let out a laugh at that. "And is that all the reason for the how?" He asks again with a raised brow.
"Well there are few." Cisco looked at him with a look that told him to lay it down. "We've been drifting away from each other recently, apart from the fights." He paused briefly before continuing on. "And I don't think she likes the whole Flash thing, truthfully." Cisco did raise his eyes in surprise at that, more than shocked actually.
"Really?" Cisco asks. "Because I don't think she would've been in the Team Flash for so long if she didn't like it."
"She asked me to leave Central City with her before the whole Nazi's from Earth-X, leave behind anything to do with Flash." Barry said and Cisco's brows were way past his hairline at that word. "I refused obviously, but I think that was the beginning of what would tell us, how we were not going to make it." He pulled the beer to his lips again before speaking. "You don't know how relieved we were when those Nazi's attacked us." Cisco stayed silent for few moments before speaking again.
"Well what do you know." Cisco says following Barry in taking a sip from his. "What about 'when'?"
"About a month ago." Barry answers and Cisco almost spit his drink out.
"You've been broken up for a month?!" Cisco yelped out.
"Yeah." Barry answers taking another sip.
"You've been living together while broken up?" Cisco begins. "For a month?!"
"No, we lived together for about a week or two." Barry answered him. "At that time we were still trying to work things out, I think those two weeks told us how it wasn't going to work, ever."
"And the rest of the two weeks?"
"I stayed back at the Lab."
"But you are still not allowed back at CCPD as they are trying to clean up the mess and your name." Cisco began before he found out where he's been spending his time at. "Don't tell me you stayed at S.T.A.R Labs all this time?"
"Yeah." Barry says. "Back at the time vault, never thought I will be happy about anything that Thawne has left behind." Barry took another sip before looking at Cisco again. "So all that left is 'why'?"
"I think most of that was covered in the how." Cisco says and Barry nodded his head. Cisco looks at his friend's face, trying to find some sort of sadness or disappointment on his face, but finding none.
"What?" Barry asks noticing the gaze Cisco was giving him.
"Nothing." Cisco shrugged his shoulders and turned back turning on the T.V. for them to watch."I thought you will be more sad or disappointed, with how your childhood love didn't come true."
"Sometimes things doesn't work out the way we want them to." Barry told him genuinely, surprising him. "Also as I told you, we are just relieved mostly, that we broke up when we did."
"So you are not sad?" Cisco asks again.
"No, Cisco, I am neither sad nor disappointed." Barry says. "I am just relieved." Cisco took out another bottle for himself. "Also can you keep it a secret from the rest."
"Why?" Cisco asks as Barry pulled one for himself."Because I don't want people to know about it, after how I went to jail, I came back, I don't think I want other asking me and Iris about the very same question you asked me now." Barry says and Cisco nodded his head. "We also have to deal with Devoe right now, so probably not a good idea." He paused for a moment as he remembered one major thing that he has yet to tell anyone. "Also I don't think they will be happy with me, if they knew about the break up.""I can think of one." Cisco mutters under his breath as Barry turned to look at him in question. "Nothing." He says. "So she is still at your loft?"
"Yeah." Barry replied his eyes glued to the screen before. "Its to keep the news away from Joe and Wally, her words not mine." Cisco nodded his head before their phone pinged showing the Meta Human Alert App as both left for the S.T.A.R Labs.
(Back to Present)
He has been living with Cisco ever since, and for two months nothing happened, no problem occured until Cecile caught them with Ralph at her side.
(Almost a month ago)
"You two are in so much trouble!" Cecil exclaims as she stood in front of the two, a glare on her eyes, Ralph stood a few distance away with an annoying smile on his face. If they were young teens than they would look like a family with different backgrounds where two of the kids were doing something wrong and one of their brother decided to rat them out.
"I can't believe you thought you could hide this from me." Ralph spoke with a bright giddy smile. "I am the best Detective, I pick on signs, and with her it was very clear." He looks towards Barry with a glint in his eyes. "By the way congratulations you two, I want an invitation to the Baby shower." He wanted to talk more as Iris and Barry looked at Cecile with wide eyes and a bit of fear and shot up.
"You cannot tell Joe/Dad!" Barry and Iris exclaimed respectively and Ralph looked at the two in surprise.
"Wha?" Ralph asks. "But why?!" He looked back at Cecile and then towards the two. "I think he deserves to know about his grandchild." His eyes widened as another thought passed through his mind. "Unless you are not planning to have this kid." He got affronted look from both Barry and Iris and slap to the back of the head by Cecile.
"What is wrong with you too?!" Cecile shot at the Elongated Man who rubbed the back of his now sore head. "That's not the reason they don't want either Joe or Wally to know about."
"Than what's the reason?" Ralph asks in return.
"We broke up!" Iris exclaimed at him as Ralph turned to look at her, then back at Cecile and than towards Barry.
"With a bun in the oven?" Barry nodded his head. "Are you getting back together?" And that made them look at anywhere but him.
"They are not getting back together, Ralph." Cecile stated as she read their mind. "They already decided on that, they broke up, for real and for good."
"Can we speak somewhere else?" Barry asks as he looked around to see few people looking in their general direction. And soon they were at a cafe ordering coffee. "So..."
"So you two broke up." Ralph asks as he took his order after getting back in the seat. "With a bun in the oven." He stated while motioning towards Iris's stomach.
"Yes Ralph, we did." Iris stated as he looked at the man. "And can you stop referring to my stomach as an oven." She paused briefly. "Or calling it a bun."
"But what brought this on?!" Cecile was the next one to ask that. "I thought the two of you were destined to be together!"
"I know, but." He looked towards Iris who stared back at him. "Somethings does not work out the way you want them to be." He looked back at Cecile. "In this case it would be our relationship."
"Trust me, Cecile." Iris was the next to speak up. "We tried our very best." He said while looking at her. "We've been trying to make this relationship work since last year, but it's just not working!" Iris was frustrated at their scenario and ashamed too that her face was now facing the ground. "I mean one of the reason I am now pregnant is because we tried way too hard, it's not like we were hoping for a kid and I am happy that I am about to be a mother, but we still don't have what we want from each other." She looked back her tear in the corner if her eyes as Cecile took her hand. "Anyway we decided that it wasn't working the way we want so I said we should break up."
"Before you knew about your...?" Ralph motioned towards her stomach again. "Pregnancy or after?"
"Before." Barry said.
"And you decided not to get back together?!" Cecile asks this time. "Do you two even know what you are doing?!"
"We tried Cecile!" Barry shot back, as Ralph and Cecile looked at him. "We tried, especially after I found out about her being pregnant!" Barry calmed himself. "But we decided that we don't want the baby to be in a house where there would be no love between parents." He looked up at Cecile and Ralph. "We have dealt with cases about children with not good home life, or how sometimes they would run away from home, we have seen some kids who have ended up in the wrong line because they didn't have a good home life." He looked up in thought eyes away from the two. "We had the living example of Captain Cold, yes our circumstances our different with his father being an a-hole and we not giving our relationship a chance, again, but it would not be that much different if we keep on pushing us being together when we are not even happy together." The two stayed silent as they took in their words. Before, they both looked tired with how their life had been going, and burdened too, but right now both of them looked...free.
"When are you going to tell, Joe?" Cecile asks after a moment as Ralph took a sip of his drink.
"We are still trying to figure out where we stand exactly, Cecile." Iris tells her and took a deep breath. "We both do love each other, but not the way we want, and especially not like a boyfriend-girlfriend, fiancé-fiancee or possible future husband and wife." She took a deep breath before continuing. "So we decided it would be good to end things as they were before we end up hurting each other in worst possible ways."
They all sat in silence before Ralph spoke up.
"So you knocked her up and you're not going to marry her?"
"Yeah." Barry says.
"Now normally I would like to give you a high five, a fist bump or a bro hug." Ralph began as Cecile and Iris glared at him, but he continued ignoring the two of them. "But knowing who you are and your whole personality and your ethics, I will refrain from saying or doing any of that." He swirled his drink for a moment looking down in it before looking back at Barry again. "But I will only give you a warning." He took another sip of his coffee before setting it down. "Joe is going to kill you."
There was silence among the four of them as Barry's head fell.
"I know."
(Flashback ends/back to present)
And now they were back here.
Both him and Iris are yet to tell Joe and Wally about the break up, and they probably weren't going to do it today either with how happy he was, they were sure they weren't going to tell him today...or tomorrow.
'I think we both don't want him to know about this.' Barry thought as he looks at the the man who was happily playing with her newborn daughter and sighed looking at them. 'I don't know when we will get the chance to tell him... or Wally.' He looked to the side where the former youngest child of the West family was with his sister, who was wearing an over sized sweatshirt.
"You sure you're okay, Iris?" Joe asks as he looks at his oldest child. He knows his kid, he raised all of them. He knows when something is bothering them, or when they are off by their sense of fashion, he looked briefly up and down at Iris who was wearing an oversized sweatshirt and denims, something was off. He looked towards Barry who was speaking with Harry, Cisco and Caitlin. He probably won't say it but he thinks that both of them are hiding something from him.
"I am okay, dad." Iris answers with a smile, and the smile was genuine, he looked towards Barry and he also looks more happy than usual, like a burdened has been lifted off him, same was with Iris. "Just a bit under the weather." She tells him.
"And I really don't want to get in between the two of you?" Joe says looking in the direction of Barry and then back at Iris. "But is everything all right?" He paused as a brief panic appeared on her face before continuing. "'Cause it look like something happened and you are not telling me." Cecile who was standing near Iris, that it was good thing to leave.
"I'll take her." Cecile took Jenna in her hand and moved away from the two standing next to Barry.
"Look dad, you need to know something." Iris begins as Cecile mutters something in his ears making him turn to look at them. "Me and Barry broke--" Joe's eyes widened at the words and before Iris could either finish or explain her situation, the doorbell rang and Ralph went to see who was at the door.
Ralph opened the door to see a young woman with brown hair with a nervous smile on her face.
"Hello!" She greeted before she entered the room not waiting for him to either greet her or let her in, and Ralph made a face behind her. She looked around the house with amazement and a bit of nostalgia, as the member of Team Flash looked at her in surprise. "Wow!" She says before she looks down, her glance briefly setting on Caitlin than moving towards Barry and then towards Iris, her gaze momentarily going to her stomach before looking back to house again. "This house is..." She trailed off, her eyes meeting Joe's. "Bitchin'!"
Cisco, Wally and Joe found the woman to be familiar.
"Hey, you are the girl me and Ralph saw at the Jitters!" Cisco exclaims surprised seeing her here off all places.
"Yeah, the coffee girl!" Ralph exclaimed from behind her and The woman let out a small laugh at that but Wally was next to speak up much to the confusion of others.
"I thought she was the wine girl at the wedding?" Wally was next to speak up and then turned to look at Barry and Iris."Before, ya know, you two decided to e...postpone your...ya know." She turned to look back her brother a brief glare on her face, as did Barry who was confused at his words. Wally was quick to turn back to the new arrival, hoping that the glare from her sister would go away.
"What are you talking about?" Joe was the next to speak up. "She was the delivery girl that came during the baby shower?" He was confused, and his evening which started good was turning sour with some things that he is starting to see, top it with this mystery woman, this evening was not going his way.
"So there is lot that I have to say but...can I have that? Thanks!" She takes a glass full of wine from Ralph and downed the drink in one go. Iris on the other hand, had her attention on something else. "I really wish it was the speedster alcohol, should have brought it with me, well it wasn't like I was planning to come here or anything, like that."
"I know that jacket." Iris says and the woman nodded her head.
"You do." She stated with a smile.
"Where did you get that jacket?" Barry was the next to question as the girl downed another glass.
"Is nobody going to ask who she is and why she is emptying our wine stock, or about the speedster alcohol?" He whispered to Wally who was now standing with him.
"Oh I got it from her." She says while pointing at Iris and drank another glass.
"My jacket is one of a kind, I wouldn't just give it to anyone." Iris says and the woman nodded his head.
"You are right, this jacket is one of a kind and you would not just give it to anybody." She downed another glass. "Hello, I am Nora West-Allen." She, now named Nora says as the jaw of the rest of the group dropped. Barry and Iris were shocked. "And I, maybe...probably, made a very very big mistake." The people inside the house took some time to understand the words spoken by Nora. Cisco watched as Caitlin hands on the wine glass tightened.
"Does anyone need a refill, just me?" Cisco asks trying to turn the attention away from Nora.
"Cisco Ramon, always cutting the tension with jokes." Nora smiles trying to prove herself.
"You know me?" Cisco asks and Nora nodded her head.
"You are still the best, Uncle Cisco." Nora replies and Cisco almost had a giddy smile on his face until he remembers few things.
Both Caitlin, after getting out of shock, and Nora gulped down another glass in a very similar way surprising Cisco, Iris and Ralph.
"Get me one!/Can I have another?" Both says at the same time surprising each other, a smile came on Nora's face before she quickly turned to look at her father. "And I..."
"You are here to help get your parents back together?" Ralph quickly asked as Joe turned to look at her. Cisco was sure his hand was almost frozen, and Cecile glared at the Elongated Man.
"What?" Nora asks as she took both of the glasses from Cisco and handing one to Caitlin. "No!" That surprised everyone in the room, Caitlin almost dropped her glass, but was quickly caught by Nora a trail of multi colored lighting leaving behind her. "Careful with the glass m...C...Caitlin." She fumbled with her name and Cisco was sure she was about to say something else entirely, but decided not too, she turned back towards Ralph to answer. "No, I did not come here to get them back together."
"But wouldn't that mean, you were never born?" Cisco asks and Joe and Caitlin looked at her on worry.
"You don't know?" Nora asks in return looking at the confused looks of Joe, Caitlin and Cisco and then groaned. "Don't tell me I messed up the timeline!"
"What do you mean?" Barry and Cisco asks at the same time, both having being familiar with the effects of time travel.
"I mean you were supposed to learn it from Uncle Harry, before you and uncle Ralph confront dad about it, or that's how you told me it happened." Nora rubbed her face pouring herself another glass. "Definitely should have brought speedster alcohol or even alien ones." She muttered under her breath.
"What do you mean?" Caitlin asks next.
"It simply means that Iris West is already pregnant with her." Harry came out with a glass of his own. Barry and Iris were horrified and Joe was equally stunned.
"Where were you?" Cisco asks. "More importantly what do you mean?"
"It means the storks are bringing them a baby." Harry sarcastically shot back. "What do you think it means?!"
"But they've been broken up for months!" Cisco exclaims, Joe and Caitlin looked at him in shock.
"You knew?!" They both asks simultaneously.
"He is actually been living with him." Nora mentions as the rest turned to look at Barry and Iris.
"How did she got pregnant if they were broken up?" Cisco asks again.
"Well they were trying a little to hard before the break up and it was until later they found out she was expecting." Cecile said next as Joe and Caitlin turned to look at her.
"You knew too!" Both asked again, before Joe took a deep breath.
"Okay, let's just...okay!" Joe sighed before looking at the gathered people. "Who knows about the break up?" Joe asks and everyone except for Caitlin, who was trying to let things settle in her head, raised their hands, even Nora raised her hands.
"You knew about it?" Barry asks as he looks towards Wally and Harry.
"It doesn't take a genius to figure that out, Allen." Harry says and looks at Wally. "I don't know about him though."
"I...uh...I found out." Wally stumbled a bit with his words not looking in the direction of his sister.
"All right then." Joe spoke again. "Who knew about the pregnancy?" This time Cisco and Caitlin were the only one who didn't raise their hands.
"You know?!" Cisco asks looking in the direction of Ralph.
"What can I say, I am a good detective." Ralph says as he rubbed his nose. Joe rubbed his face, frustration on his face which is clear.
"Is there anything else I don't know about?" Joe asks as Iris, Cecile and Wally begins to fidget in their places making Joe turned to look at them. "What is it?"
"Look, Dad, I mean, I know you are not happy about us." Iris begins as Barry stood beside her. "I mean we did keep, quite a few secrets."
"Which is not as bad as Flashpoint." Nora spoke up from behind as others turn to look at her. "Sorry, just nervous, can I have another?" She asks while raising the glass.
"Here?" Cisco gives her a bottle and she looks towards Caitlin. "Wanna drink?"
"I probably need quite a few, so why not?" Caitlin smiles as she handed her a glass. "We are not just drinking buddies in the future are we?"
"Can't say, it will mess up the time line." She paused for a moment before continuing. "Well it's already messed but I don't want it to go off rails more than what's already happened, but I can tell you that we are close." She smiled at the woman who returned a smile of her own.
"So we can't ask you about future?" Ralph asks.
"Well if it doesn't affect the timeline than I can answer few of them." Nora says as she turned her attention back to the West's and Barry, and few brief glances towards Caitlin, unnoticed by everyone but, Harry.
Back with the West's, the argument was not going in the way Barry was hoping it would go.
"Why are you two not trying?!" Joe asks as he looks at his two kids. "What could've possibly made you break up, especially after you two found out that she was expecting?!"
"We tried, Joe!" Barry shot back. "We tried everything, Joe." He looked at his father in all but blood. "It didn't work out!"
"Barry is right, dad." Iris says, tears slipping from her eyes. "We did the best we could, it was fun in the beginning, but soon it turned into a nightmare." She takes a deep breath before continuing. "I wanted to give this a shot but it wasn't working, we were fighting every moment and wanted to break up so much."
"Specially after the whole Savitar thing." Barry mentions and Iris made a face.
"Definitely after the Savitar thing." Iris says. "Not the best moment, and we did everything and soon we realized that this is not what we wanted." She took a deep breath again. "And we gave ourselves one last shot and you know what happened." Her hands went to her stomach and her eyes went to Nora who was looking at them, before turning her gaze back to Caitlin.
"But can't you try again?" Joe asks again. "For the kid, she wouldn't have came to the past if she didn't think that you two had a chance."
"Well I didn't come for that." Nora says again.
"I thought it was the discussion for the West's only?" Ralph asks from where he was sidelined.
"I am/She is a West!" Nora, Cisco, Harry, Caitlin and Iris says while glaring in his direction making him raise his hands.
"Really?" Wally asks. "I thought you would be there to make sure the marriage goes off without a hitch."
"Actually I was thinking of crashing it down, but that would mean, I would not be born and that whole paradox things." She paused for a moment. "Before I remembered that the Nazis from Earth-X would be coming un-invited, so yeah."
"And why didn't you helped us when we were fighting other villains and bad guys?" Ralph asks this time.
"Again, can't mess with the timeline that much." Nora says shrugging her shoulders. "But I did help!" She held her hands as multicolored lightning became visible to others, Barry eyes widened as he saw that lightning.
"You were that person?" Barry looks at Nora with wide eyes. "The one who helped me take down satellites."
"I mean it was one of those epic moments, so I was unable to help myself." Nora says with with a smile which vanished for a moment. "Also because you were slowing down for a moment."
"If you are not here to make sure they end up together than why are you here?" Joe asks.
"Yeah, that's the thing." Nora finished another glass before speaking. "So in future, shit happened."
"You mean when I vanished?" Barry asks referring to the article that was in the time vault.
"No...not that." Nora speaks before she remembers something. "I mean that was pretty bad, but you did return after two years, m...Caitlin and Cisco, along with few other people manage to get you back, but that's not it, it more of a recent for me." Her eyes became a bit misty as her face went down with a frown.
"What happened?" Caitlin who was closest to her at the moment was the first to ask.
"Well..." Nora began. "In the immortals words of our family, shit happened." A snort came out of her as others looked at her in confusion. "Its a future thing, you wouldn't get it now."
"And what was the the shit?" Harry begins. "That happened?"
"Can't really go into the details about it." Nora began.
"I thought you needed our help?" Ralph asks.
"You guys can't really help with something happening in future, but I do need your help." Nora looked at her father. "I have to get back home."
Hello, a brand new story, a fun thing that took place and my own take.
Really just a fun piece of thing, and probably keep an eye out for Flash Souls, probably need a better title for that, on that note, I need better title for all of my stories, but anyhow. Tell me how you like this prologue. Good, bad, weird...but in all honesty, I hope that you like it.
