AN: I am not sure if someone keep reading OC fanfictions after so many years but I am recently rewatching it and in love all over again. This fanfiction would be a rewrite of the O.C but specially of Seth and Summer history. And I can anticipate that Marissa would not die in this fic because at much as I hated her by the end of the series I came to undertand that all the drama and torment she suffered in her teenage years made her act that way and I truly thinks that she deserves Ryan once they have matured a lot so, hope you like it if it is anyone that keep reading OC fanfics.

A wedding should be a time to celebrate, a time for love, friendship and happiness even if it is Julie Cooper's wedding to Caleb Nichols. But for Ryan, Marissa, Seth and Summer, especially for the first two, it was a time of sorrow, of knowing that something beautiful and unique is coming to an end and you don't know if you would have something like this again.

So when the moment comes for Seth and Ryan to say goodbye, Seth's heart feels broken and he is afraid of facing a new year at school, hell, the rest of his life, without his brother by his side but they promise to call and keep contact but Seth knows that once he starts working and once the baby is here he would not have time.

Not even an hour later Seth has packed his things in two bags and is currently writing a letter to Summer after writing the one for his parents. But he has no words, how would he leave the love of his life here and not take her with him after everything they had gone through? So he grabs his phone and call Summer.

"Hey Cohen, Ryan has already go?"

"Yes, just over an hour ago but Sum...I need to get out of here, I need to breathe, I feel suffocated"

"So come to my house, you know Dad already left for his trip to Hawaii with the step-monster, you can stay as much as you want, they would not return until next month"

"No Sum, I want to go sailing with the boat and…and maybe not Haiti but…I don't know, wherever you wanna go but we go together, we can do a month and a half trip and come back for your birthday party? I mean, it is just the middle of June and we have all summer ahead"

In the other side of the phone Summer is crying, she is crying because she thought Seth was going to broke up with her, but no, he wants her to go with him and she knows is because of Ryan that he is leaving but she also hopes that it has something to do with their love and with the fact that she would be alone in her big house all month that her father would be away.

"Sum? Baby are you there?"

"Yes, sorry, yes Cohen I think a trip together would be a great idea. When would we go and what do I grab?"

"Well, I was hoping on leaving today but I can wait"

"No, today is ok, maybe in three hours?"

"Yes, brilliant and just grab bikinis, shorts and some summer clothes and some sweatshirts and pajamas because at night it would get chilly. Then loads of sun lotion, sunglasses, caps and some blankets. Ah and something to pass time like your magazines or a book or something. We would not spend that much time on the boat, maybe two days in a row or something but we should be prepared"

"Ok, something else?"

"Grab some food and, do you have a sleeping bag? If not, I have a spare one and…we are not going to Tahiti because I would not expose you to 40 days of travelling in the sea" Summer feel butterflies in her stomach at hearing Cohen take her health into consideration "but maybe we can go to Santa Catalina or Santa Clara, wherever you want to go"

"Santa Catalina sounds amazing Cohen, don't worry, as long as we are together it's fine for me"

For Seth, that means the world but he prepares himself for a trip to the places he mentioned to Summer and promises his parents in the new letter that he would call as much as he can once he reach the islands.

In those three hours Summer takes a shower and puts her favorite swimsuit on, a white top and jeans shorts with her less favorites flip flops and she also makes a bag with some of her summer clothes, two sundresses, lots of bikinis and two pairs of shoes and another bag with a blanket, towels, sun lotion, her sunglasses, magazines, two books and her phone charger. She also calls her dad to inform him that she would be on a trip with Seth while he is out and she would be back in Newport a week or so before her birthday, August the 16th and then calls Coop to let her know about Seth proposal. At first Marissa is less than happy that she would be alone in Newport for all the summer but then she is glad that Seth didn't hurt her best friend's feeling by abandoning her so she tells Sum to have a happy trip and to come back soon.

"We will be back by the beginning of August, Seth promised me. So we will have at least a month to be together and then we will be together at school again"

Seth picks up Summer in a taxi and they go to the port and to the boat. Summer stays frozen in place because Seth's boat have changed since she saw it less than a month ago.

"Cohen, what did you did to the boat?"

"Oh yes, I sold mine a few months ago and bought this one that is bigger, have two compartments and a cooler so we can have cold drinks and it has an engine so if there's no breeze at all we can still move, and see, I named it after the other one, still my Summer Breeze"

Summer can't help but smile because of how cute her boyfriend is and she is also glad that this boat is bigger than the last one so they could be more comfortable. She gets into the boat with Seth's help and they start filling the compartments with food and drinks: they have some colas, lots of water and ginger ale and some ice creams and chocolates provided by Summer that they put on the cooler. In the compartments they put some bagels, sandwiches, fruit and sweets. Seth had brought a camping gas if they need it.

"I think we have food to last for over a week but we would get to Santa Catalina today and spent like a week there because there are lots of things to do and then we should spend a couple of days to Santa Barbara island. What do you think? Already changed your mind?"

"No, never Cohen and a week at Santa Catalina sounds very good"

Seth takes matter into his own hands and Summer settle besides him, sunbathing and enjoying the very hot view for her of her boyfriend's hair wild because of the wind and his arms flexed while he takes charge of the boat's sail. Summer can't wait to see her Cohen's skin tanned. Once everything is good and in motion Seth lay down besides Summer and she snuggle against his chests and he kisses her hair and an overwhelming feeling of love course through her and she can't help but smile and kiss his lips, relaxing with the beat of his heart.

Later that evening they arrive in the island and Seth pay the rent for the boat dock where his boat would stay for the week. Summer picks up the cooler, the snacks than would not last for a week and their bags and leave the boat. Seth takes his bags from her and the cooler and they go to the nearest hotel to book a room for the week. They take a walk in the journey there, hand in hand and enjoying the company of one another.

Once at the hotel Seth pay for the room, a modest one: not a suite but also not a room similar to the one in TJ and once there Summer lay on the bed and makes a sound of contentment and watch Seth while he takes their clothes out of the bag and put them in the closet and then grabs a few snacks and lay with her on the bed.

"Well Summer Roberts, ready to enjoy a full week in Santa Catalina with your handsome and adorable boyfriend?" Summer grabs some crackers and popcorns and eat them slowly while watching Cohen with adoration "What? I have something in my face?"

"No, no, you don't, it's just that, every month that we spend together I realize how much I love you and even if you are sometimes insufferable and idiot then you make some move that rock me out of my world, like asking me to do this trip with you, that was really sweet Cohen"

"You know, at first I was so angry that just wanted to be alone and when I was writing a letter to you, I realized that you are the girl of my dreams and I would not let you go that easily so I had to at least try to convince you to come with me. I didn't know it would be so easy though, I was preparing myself for when you broke up with me"

"Well, most parts of my summers are spent alone in my big house or with Marissa some days because my dad and step mom always do a trip and I don't want to spent all that time near her and she neither wants to be with me so much"

"You hate her, huh?"

"Well, not hate, hate, I mean, she makes my dad happy but she was mean to me the first few years of dating my father and I... well I am very protecting of him and she came in between us when we were getting used to be just two when my mom left"

"You know? I remember the day you came to class after two days of being absent and after my Bar mitzva, your eyes were swollen and red and I knew you had been crying and something bad had happened to you, so I sat down behind you and Marissa in class and hear you tell her that your mother had just left and your parents were divorcing and I was so angry that someone could do that to you, I hated your mom that day"

Seth washes away a tear that had felt down Summer's cheek and kiss her cheek, she smiles.

"I can't believe you have been in love with me since that time, it seems so long ago and yes, those days were horrible and you know? I was going to go to your Bar Mitzva that day because my dad said that we accepted your invitation before Luke's birthday party and I was angry at my dad but then we didn't want to go anywhere but my dad sent you some money anyway"

"Well, I bet he is not so happy anymore that he did that"

Summer slaps Seth's arm but she straddles his hips before he had time to scape and kisses him hard on the mouth so Seth's hands settle automatically on her waist, touching the bare skin he finds there and Summer feel goosebumps on her skin. She kisses Seth's neck and earlobe and he shivers.

"I...I thought you didn't wanna...do this because of Theresa's pregnancy?"

"Hmm" she kisses his neck again, leaving a mark and she feels Seth's friend starting to wake up and, in that moment, like every time it happens, she feels so much power that she doesn't care about what she said a few days ago "I don't care, we would be careful, we always are and we would be 24/7 side by side, we would be tempted anyway, a girl has needs too"

Seth kiss her hard again, after a while he takes Summer's top off and she takes her bikini off and like every time her ladies are on display he shut up completely so she takes advantage of that and kiss his neck while unbuttoning his shirt with expertise after all this months together and once his chest is bare she kiss all of it and goes down on him.

They don't leave the hotel for the rest of the afternoon and night and they go to bed feeling happy and content, Summer's head against Seth's chest.

They have a fantastic week together: waking up snuggling in bed and making out what then leads to sex almost every morning, swimming on the sea or the hotel's pool, sunbathing and having lunch in different places every day. At evenings they go hiking, or they do kayak, windsurf or skydiving. Seth learns to fish and Summer meets some girls with whom she goes shopping one day while her boyfriend relax for all the hard workout they had been doing.

On their fourth day at Santa Catalina there's a party at the hotel so Seth surprises Summer with a new dress, high heels and jewelry and tell her that they would go dance and have some fun. Summer rewards him with a very deep kiss and a promise of more fun once they are back at the room. So, they shower, Summer applies some make up, Seth fight with his tie for half an hour and in time they are at the party and meets Summer's new friends and Seth, surprising his girlfriend, shows very good social skills, making friends with some of the boys.

"Excuse me, would you have this dance with me miss?"

Summer turns around and sees a handsome tanned man in a suit and looking at her with deep blue eyes but she feels Seth figure on her back, she knows Seth would not fight for her honor but is tempted to test it. She doesn't have to do anything because before she knows it Seth is in front of her and asking the man to leave because the lady is his girlfriend.

"Man, I think that is your girlfriend's decision"

"Well, yes, but she also needs to know that I would fight for her, even if I would be the one seriously injured. That's how much I love her man"

Summer fights a smile and wraps her arms around Seth's waist "I am with him but thank you for the offer. He is a great dancer, you know?"

"Ok, good luck guys"

Seth turns around and kiss Summer's cheek and she then kiss his lips and takes him to the dance floor where they get into their special position: Summer's head on Seth's clavicle, her arms around his shoulders with one of them touching his hair and his arms around her waist, sometimes caressing her bare back but never daring touching her butt because he knows she would kill him. And they just sway with the music, lost in their own bubble. They also spend some days at Catalina Casino where they have cinemas and a museum. Their week turns into ten days at the end.

Oh, but not everything is fun, Seth had a call from his parents the very first day they were in the island and Sandy was upset.

"You are a selfish young man that can't think of anyone but himself and you have no idea how sad your mom is" Seth tries to apology but Sandy interrupts him "No, thank god you are with Summer and not alone in the middle of the pacific and please just protect her, don't put her in any danger"

"Dad, he was my only friend in Newport, my brother, and he abandoned me and I couldn't imagine another year being the focus of bullying, but then I realized that I would have Summer, or so I hope"

Summer nods and kiss his cheeks.

"Well, Ryan had no other choice, he is responsible for another person being and I am proud of him even if internally I am tearing apart because I lost a son and imagine what I felt when I realized that I had lost two"

"No Dad, we would get back in time for Summer's birthday, I promise and I am sorry and understand that you are disappointed with me but I love you and I would come back"

"I love you too son and I kind of understand but call as much as you guys can"

Of course Summer and Seth had arguments, they would not be them if they don't argue: Summer got mad when Seth didn't want to go down to the beach, Seth got mad when Summer called him a geek or a freak and they had little arguments about reasons that they didn't even know but at the end of the day they always talked about them and make out, and make out sex was the best in their opinion.

Their week turned into ten days in Santa Catalina is done and they are back in the boat so they could go to Santa Barbara island. Seth decides to get the longest route so they can enjoy the sea and the sun some more and Summer loves it too much, sunbathing and listening to some music while watching her man doing his sailing job. She can't help but think how glad she is that she accepted going with him on this trip because if not, or if he hadn't asked her to go with him, she wondered what would have happened, they would have probably broken their relationship and she would be crying a lot, or maybe by now she would have stopped.

They spend a couple of days at Santa Barbara island to then go to Channel Island National Park that it is what means more time traveling by boat and that gets into Summer nerves that spend two days giving Seth the silent treatment because her hair and skin are a mess because of the sun and the humidity and it is all his fault according to her.

"I am not responsible of that Summer, I can't control the weather and I thought you knew what means travelling by boat, I am sorry for whatever you think I did but please, can we have a good trip?"

"Seth! Can we please like take a plane or something once we are finished at the Channel? I would pay for the transportation of the boat to Newport but please, just we go to L.A or Portland or whatever by plane? We still have money"

Seth thinks for a while about Summer's offer and he understands that she is a spoiled girl and she is not used to spent so much days without shopping, spas and a good shower so he decides that he would make her whishes come true.

"Ok, we can go to Portland and visit Luke, what do you think?"

"Oh, I forgot that he was there! Yes, we can go visit him and stay there the last couple of weeks right? Then back to Newport for my birthday"

Seth smiles but it is a sad smile because Ryan would still be at Chino when they return to their hometown and he would again be the center of all bully. Summer knows what he is thinking, after so many months together she is starting to know him better than she even knows herself.

"We can make Ryan come back, you know? I have a master mind and am very persuasive"

"No Sum, I want him to come back because he can and want, because Theresa discovers Eddie is the father or he misses Marissa or whatever"

Summer does not try to persuade him because she knows that he is right and that if they force Ryan to come back he would regret it and hat them and they don'twant that.

What they don't know because they have been gone for three weeks of July is that Sandy has gone to visit Ryan at his job and they have talked and have coffee and Ryan had been sad and angry and wanted to return but he knows that he has to stay with Theresa and be a man. Sandy calls them a couple of times but it goes to voicemail and she tells Kirsten.

"They are travelling to the Channels, don't you remember? So they are probably in the middle of the sea. Ugh! I don't understand why we are not telling him to come back this instant and grounding him! Or calling Neil and telling him the risks her daughter is taking!"

"Honey, Neil already knows that they are at the islands and he already hate Seth enough. I trust or son and I understand him Kirsten, he had lost his brother and the first person that didn't hate him apart from us"

"Marissa doesn't hate him, Luke neither and we both know how much Summer love him so..IT IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD for Gods shake"

"He had lost his brother and he would return in just three weeks Kirsten. This has also had something to do with a certain blonde boy that got into your heart?"

"Of course it does Sandy, he is my son and…and I can't believe he didn't though of letting Theresa stay here with us and letting us help, he could have had his privacy at the pool house and work during the summer here"

" Honey, she wanted her mother and…I think Ryan wants to come back because the other day he could not let me go: asking about work, you, Seth and Summer, gossip or Marissa but not wanting to come back to his house"

"I just hope he would come back, my two babies would come back"
