Harry and the Fairy Flirt

October 1992

Chapter 14: "Building the foundation"

It had taken Harry and Draco only minutes to set up one of the rooms in the castle as a Headmasters office. Harry had decided to keep working on the school plans versus breaking the news to Orria that he had no intention of returning to Hogwarts.

Draco was off in one of the studies trying to pin down the rest of the Professors. "He seems to be in his element... who knew Draco Malfoy was so good at planning like this."

Harry sat at the desk of the new headmasters office, Draco had left over half an hour ago to take care of things and Harry had a rare moment to himself.

Slowly he went over everything in his mind. "With how Orria is behaving, I am guessing that things are only going to get worse." He sighed "I wish I could convince more of the students to leave Hogwarts before it's to late." He leaned forward and rested his head in his hands "seriously, I am way to young for this..."

"Potter" Draco entered the room with a stack of papers in his hands "we have finally done it," he smiled "I just poached our last instructor."

"McGonagoll agreed?" Harry stood up, impressed.

"Rather quickly too," it's as if she is eager to get out of that cascading nightmare." Draco set the papers down and plopped into a chair. "I'm pooped," he leaned back and closed his eyes to rest. "This is harder than I thought."

"Well we are technically children... and we still have to get Snape to agree to be the headmaster." Harry silently hoped he didn't do something terribly wrong by giving into Draco's pleading.

"No we don't, I already took care of it." Draco leaned forward, rested his arms on his knees and gave Harry a sly smile. "You underestimate me Potter."

"That's still terrifying when you do that." He laughed

"Well, at least you find me terrifying... and not a useless..."

"About the name of the school..." Harry interrupted

"No need to start that up again, fair is fair..." Draco stood up and stretched "you gave me Snape so I will give you the name."

"Wow," he smiled "thanks..."

"Might I suggest one thing." Draco waited for him to nod then continued "keep it simple, this is not just about us, there are more students signing up from the realms than from the wizarding world."

Harry nodded "I was thinking about that," he stood up and paced as he thought "what about..." he turned to face Draco "like you said, in keeping it simple we go with Dranwoll School of Magic & Defense."

"Simple, to the point." He shrugged "what happened to naming it after someone?"

"I thought about that, but I want this to be about the studies not the Drama of who thinks they're better than who."

"Alright, how about Dranwoll school of Magical Studies." Draco threw out the suggestion casually, not expecting any positive response.

"Draco, I love it!" Harry smiled "that's brilliant." Harry ruffled through papers and jotted something down "we need to leave out the drama and focus on the point... students will come here to study."

"True, and Magical Defense is important and will be one of the classes..."

"But it shouldn't be the focus.."

"Just like we shouldn't teach only magical subjects, they will need to know other things as well." Draco was really getting into this.

"Like Muggle Defense" Harry thought.

Draco winced "maybe not the best name for a class, suggests the need for defense against muggles."

"You have a point, but we should add muggle style physical education and defense to the class listing..." he scribbled it down the continued "Muggle Style Defense."

"Sounds better, but what would the subject matter be, and who would we get to teach it?"

Harry frowned "we'll let Professor Snape figure it out."

Draco shrugged "works for me... are you sure about the houses?"

"Like we said, let's not name things after a person or people or whatever..." he smiled sure of his decision "naming the houses after the elements sounds more like Dranwoll... a bit more balanced on studies rather than drama."

"Earth, Air, Fire, Water..." he frowned "can we please not use heart..." he rolled his eyes "it sounds a bit too sappy."

"What about...living, or energy..." Harry thought "maybe I'll ask Hermione for her opinion."

Draco shrugged "We have five towers around the castle, they are perfect for the dormitories. The castle itself will handle most of the details for that."

"Correct, the schedule will be handled by Snape."

"The paperwork has already been filed and the student will be arriving within the week." Draco picked up a paperweight and began casually tossing it up and catching it.

"The student housing will take into consideration Bonded pairs, allowing them to have the room that is best for them." Harry smiled at the thought of Orria being with him without having to break the rules.

"We have also, adjusted to accommodate other cultures and customs." Draco smiled "and mandated a class for all students for sensitivity training..."

Harry nodded and winced "I don't like that class name, I know we need to break this stupid belief of pure-blood within the magical community but I don't think that class title covers it."

"What about just teaching the importance of magical lines of all types." Draco sat the paperweight down and rubbed his head.

"That's it, Variations of Magic and maybe one on forgotten heroes and heroines of the wizarding world, that focuses on the non pure-bloods that they want us to forget."

"Smart, I guess we are done here..." Draco smiled smuggly "don't you need to go break the news to someone?"

"Crap..."

Meanwhile, near the portals... in the woods

Orria sat on a tree stump in a pout. "That is insane..." she folded her arms and huffed

"Maybe, but it's still true..." Sauce worried that he was going to get hit again "that's why they said to stay out of it."

"No." She started to pace "the prophecy is all I had to go on... it can't become fiction all of a sudden!"

"Okay I will say it again, the prophecy was based on you not being there... fairy magic and Dranwoll are blocked from view of the wizarding world. So that is what would have happened if you had as they said stayed out of it."

She glared at him, "then how am I to know what to do?" She threw her hands up in frustration as her voice escalated "I was depending on what they knew of what would happen to protect him... if that is all wrong then how am I going to know anything!" Orria's voice dropped to a soft sob "what am I supposed to tell Harry?" She sank to the ground "how am I going to protect him?"

Sauce just stood there and let her get it out of her system "at least her anger isn't aimed at me."

"This is ridiculous, I have no idea how to proceed... what to do next... or even where Harry needs to be!"

"Seems to me that he and Draco have that figured out already, maybe you need to go talk to him."
