Uh, so here is the next chapter. Not to sure of this one if I am to be honest but I wanted to post something for all of you so here it is. There is light smut in this chapter so for all of those who don't want to read it, it is at the end of the chapter. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy xx

Hermione watched Luka sleep, like she had been doing since she had awoken two weeks earlier. She couldn't help the familiar pangs of guilt that the sight of the baby brought on. She had failed to protect his mother; he was an orphan now, a motherless child. Hermione felt the familiar stinging in her eyes before a tear painted a wet trail down her cheek.

She hadn't left Luka alone since she had woken up and learnt that Lucy had died giving birth to him. Hermione had wanted to scream and rage when Lavender told her that she had been unable to survive the birth due to her injuries and malnutrition. Whilst Hermione couldn't have done anything about the malnutrition, she could have fought harder to keep Lucy from getting injured during their escape from Greyback's pack. A pack that had been decimated in a matter of seconds. By her.

Closing her eyes, Hermione went back to the evening she had awoken.

Everything ached. A deep ache that resonated in her bones. Mia whined pitifully in her mind but Hermione was just grateful that their connection had been re-established to its fullest. She had felt empty without her wolf.

"Hermione?"

She recognised the voice but for a moment she couldn't place the voice to a face. It was a soothing voice though; one she knew she could trust.

"Ron, get Poppy."

Ron. Her mind recalled that she knew a Ron. And that voice. That voice belonged to Harry. Her best friend. He brother. The boy she had gone to war with. The man who had tracked her down two weeks earlier. Harry Potter.

"Miss Granger? Can you hear me?"

Another familiar voice. Old but kind and yet stern. It brought back memories of Hogwarts. Madame Pomfrey. The healer of Hogwarts. A woman who had patched up her best friend more times than Hermione wanted to count.

"Can you open your eyes, Miss Granger?"

Could she? Everything hurt. Even her eyes. Did she want to open them? No, she rather liked the darkness.

"Kitten?"

It felt like a bolt of electricity had shot through her body at the sound of his voice. Mia's whines ceased instantly and Hermione could see her perk up in the back of her mind. She knew that voice well. It was her mate. The one that completed her. And yet, Hermione felt fear course through her at the sound of his voice as well. There was a reason she wasn't supposed to like that voice as much as she did. A big reason. Something that would change everything. But what was it? Why did her mate's voice make her afraid to open her eyes and look at him?

Humans are so fickle sometimes, Mia growled at her, visibly snarling at the witch.

What do you mean? Hermione asked, confused by the hostility presented to her by her wolf.

You'll deny your mate, a chance at happiness and love, because of the past you share with him? Is that not fickle to you, witch? Mia replied snidely.

The words stirred memories and Hermione felt the icy claws of fear sink further into her heart as she remembered meeting her mate. Sirius Black. Her best friends godfather. A man who was almost two decades older than her.

Seven years, witch, Mia huffed, he has not aged since he entered the veil. But is it his age that really bothers you?

"Kitten, can you open your eyes for us?" Sirius' voice pleaded gently into her ear and Hermione felt her body tingle at the sound.

I can't love him, Hermione told Mia, I shouldn't love him.

You can and you do. You did long before you knew who he was. Long before I came into the picture, witch. Why do you think I chose him? I've seen your memories with him, I've felt what you've felt around him. Age was the only thing stopping you then, that barrier is gone. You just need to let go of all those other doubts. Let our mate be the one to decide whether he wants us instead of making that decision for him.

Hermione had nothing more she could have said before she felt her body begin to stir. Her fingers and toes twitched as she tried to force her body to listen to her.

"That's it, kitten, open those beautiful eyes for us," Sirius whispered into her ear and Hermione felt her heart stutter at the compliment.

Slowly, achingly slowly, Hermione forced her eyes to open. Black and silver. That was the first thing to assault her vision as well as leather and some spicy cologne that assaulted her nose. Well, caressed her nose. The smell was divine and Hermione found herself inhaling deeply before she felt her entire body relax.

"How are you feeling, kitten?" Sirius asked as he moved to sit in the seat by her bed.

It took Hermione a moment to realise that he was holding her hand in his and she would have blushed if she didn't feel like she might throw up at any moment. A moment later, a potion was thrust into her line of sight and Hermione dragged her eyes away from Sirius to see a smiling Madame Pomfrey holding out a potion to her. "For the nausea," she explained as Hermione took it from her.

Sirius helped Hermione sit up in bed and Hermione could feel her heart beat pick up as his fingers slid along her naked waist. Mia preened at the care their mate was taking with them but Hermione was trying desperately to ignore her wolf as she choked down the potion, grimacing at the taste and texture.

"What happened?" she asked, her throat like sandpaper. Another potion fixed that problem.

"What's the last thing you remember?" Madame Pomfrey asked as she cast diagnostic spells and summoned more potions out of a ratty looking bag.

A cold laugh. Blackness. That voice again. Soft and gentle. A warning. Brightness. Than blissful emptiness.

"Not much," Hermione croaked, ignoring the look Harry and Sirius were throwing at her as she continued to ingest the potions that were handed to her. "L-Lucy? Did she get here okay?" she suddenly asked, her eyes snapping to Harry who looked away from her. Hermione's heart sunk.

"Her body was to injured and malnourished to sustain her through the child birthing, Miss Granger," Madame Pomfrey explained softly, "she lived long enough to name her son and make Mrs Potter swear that young Luka would be handed over to you when you returned to us. She was quite adamant that he be put in your care. Would you like to meet him?"

Hermione shook her head. She couldn't. Not yet. Not when the guilt and grief was threatening to drown her. Lucy had died. Her makers mate had died because Hermione hadn't gotten to her fast enough.

Hermione shook her head and furiously wiped away the tears as she heard and smelt Holland approaching the room. A moment later, he was quietly opening and closing the door before he moved over to stand by her. It was a rare moment that Holland wasn't by Hermione's side. The only reason he hadn't been by her bedside when she had awoken was because Ginny had snuck a sleeping draught into his soup because he refused to sleep until she woke up.

"Mum?"

That was another new development. Sure, Holland had called her mum in Alaska but he had been half asleep and she hadn't wanted to hope that it would be a regular occurrence. He hadn't called her anything else since he had barged into her room once the sleeping draught had worn off. They had held each other for several hours, both of them crying for different reasons but neither of them questioning the other.

Lavender had joined them at some point, curling herself up by Hermione's leg as the older witch ran her fingers through her blonde hair. When Remus had joined them, Lavender had magically enlarged the small bed to allow their pack to reconnect with their Alpha. Later, Harry, Ron, Tonks, Ginny, little James, and Sirius would join their little group; all of them falling asleep on the large bed.

"I'm okay, pup," she assured him as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him close to her, inhaling his scent as she nuzzled his hair.

"Lavender wanted me to remind you that we'll be heading off soon. Remus has already created a Portkey that'll take us to the Forbidden Forest."

That was something Hermione was still trying to come to grips with as well.

"Miss Granger."

Hermione looked up from where she had been staring at her fingers to see Madame Pomfrey looking at her solemnly.

"I'm afraid what I have to tell you will not be any better than what you have just learnt," she began delicately. "As you know, it is very rare for witches and wizards to suppress their magic since the Statute of Secrecy was enacted. It is even less common for adult witches and wizards to suppress their magic, especially for as long as you did.

"As you are aware, your magic released itself in a powerful wave that decimated half of a forest. When Mister Potter brought you here, you were dying, Miss Granger," she said somberly. "Your magic was still attacking your body, shutting down major organs and causing seizures."

Hermione felt Sirius' hands tighten around her own but kept her eyes forward as the healer continued.

"You died, Miss Granger," Madame Pomfrey stated blankly, "you were dead for five minutes. In that time, your magic was seeking an escape, one that would have levelled this building with its intensity."

By the look of shocked horror on Harry and Ron's face, Hermione figured this was news to them too.

"Before this could occur, a large magical burst engulfed your body and you were revived. How this came to be, we do not know, however, after checking you over one thing became clear."

Madame Pomfrey hesitated for the longest moment before she spoke, "I'm afraid your magical core is completely gone, Miss Granger. You are, essentially, a muggle now."

Though she had been trying to wrap her mind around it since she had been told, Hermione couldn't deny that she felt a sense of relief about it too. Over the years, her magic had started to feel less like a blessing and more like a curse. To be rid of it was oddly freeing. Still, Hermione feared what this would mean for the people she cared about in the magical community. Would she even be allowed to keep in contact with the? It was practically unheard of for a witch or wizard to completely lose their magical core so there were no laws or procedures on what to do with the witch or wizard when it happened.

Hermione had already decided she would be going back to Alaska. It was her home after all and she wasn't about to abandon it any time soon. Mia had kicked up a fuss about leaving their mate but had eventually settled down when Hermione had explained that she would keep her Floo open for anyone who wanted to visit. She had already decided she wasn't going to fight the mating bond. With that said, Hermione had no intention of telling Sirius about it either; something that really pissed Mia off.

I don't want him to feel obligated to be with me, she had tried to explain to her temperamental wolf.

He's as hot for us as we are for him, Mia had growled in return, and you can smell the affection he feels for us too. You're just being stubborn.

Mia hadn't spoken to her since than but Hermione had refused to budge on her decision.

"Have you told them, yet?" Holland asked, looking up at her as she continued to stroke his hair.

"I'm going to wait until after the full moon tonight," she explained softly.

Holland nodded before they both turned to look down at Luka.

"We'll protect him," Holland told her firmly, "if what that woman said to you is true than we're gonna have a fight on our hands but we'll protect him with everything we've got."

"I want him to have a normal childhood," Hermione explained, "Harry had a title and a prophesy thrust upon him and never really had a chance to have a normal life. Luka deserves that much."

"He'll have a normal life," Holland vowed before he smirked, "as normal as a life as one can have being raised by a pack of werewolves."

Hermione chuckled before she let go of Holland and picked up baby Luka. It was the first time she had held him and Hermione couldn't help but be concerned by how small and light he was. Even the twins had been bigger. Hermione thought of her goddaughters and wondered how she was going to explain bringing home a baby to her non-pack friends. She took comfort in knowing that she would have help from Lisa and that Luka would have friends around his own age.

His eyes opened, grey connecting with amber as they looked at each other. Hermione ran a finger delicately across his cheek as she cooed at him. Slowly, she began to hum a tune her mother would hum to her as a child and watched with a soft smile as Luka's eyes fluttered closed again.

A gentle knock at the door had Holland and Hermione turning in time to see Lavender entering the room. She smiled at the sight of Hermione holding Luka before she met Hermione's gaze. "It's time," she said softly before she came forward to take Luka from Hermione. Hermione let the baby go reluctantly, knowing he would be safe with her den mother. She placed a soft kiss on his little forehead before touching foreheads with Lavender. "Be safe," Lavender whispered to her Alpha before Hermione and Holland exited the room.

Sirius and Remus were waiting for them in the library, Remus looking especially nervous and agitated. Hermione had demanded that Remus throw out all of his wolfsbane potions. She knew he was probably feeling like shit right now but it was the first step in helping Remus connect with his wolf.

"Ready?" she asked the two men, not looking at Sirius even as his scent surrounded her in a warm cocoon.

Remus gave her a jerky nod before he held out a piece of paper. Sirius, Hermione, and Holland grabbed the other corners and a moment later, Hermione felt the uncomfortable sensation of Portkeying.

It was uncomfortable to say the least when they landed in a small clearing. Hermione hissed as she landed on a rock before she felt the bruised skin being healed. She sat up and looked around, seeing Sirius helping Remus off the ground and Holland throwing up by a nearby tree. Hermione felt for the young wolf, she really did hate wizard forms of travel.

Sirius walked off the moment Remus was on his feet, setting off to activate the wards. Remus wouldn't be in control tonight. It would take time for him to get to where Hermione was. Even Holland didn't have that much control and the last thing Hermione wanted was either of her betas getting close to the school and its occupants. Minerva had been kind enough to offer them the Forbidden Forest for this months transformation and Hermione didn't want to disappoint the older witch by messing up.

She turned to Remus when she could barely hear Sirius and took in a deep breath. "So, this is how things are going to go tonight…"

Sirius was pissed off.

Why? Because the little kitten had been ignoring him for the better part of two weeks. Even when they had hosted the reunion party for everyone who had come back from the veil, Hermione had busied herself with everyone in an attempt to avoid him. It sounded rather vain if one didn't take into account that Hermione would constantly search the room until their eyes met before she would vanish.

It wasn't like Sirius hadn't tried to get the little kitten alone either. He had even tried getting her alone at night but her werewolf senses made sneaking up on her impossible. Even so, it would seem Hermione was rarely ever without the young teen that would follow her everywhere. It would have been annoying if not for the fact that the boy had been beside himself when Hermione had been unconscious.

It would seem, however, that Sirius' luck was turning around. Tonight, he would be present during their transformation and Sirius had every intention of making the little kitten speak to him when she was human once more. She would be too tired to get away from him and her lack of magic meant she couldn't hex his bollocks off.

He had returned to the camp when he suddenly froze, his mouth going dry and his pants becoming uncomfortably tight.

The moonlight streaming into the clearing only served to make her smooth skin even more beautiful. It shimmered off of the small scars littering her naked body, highlighting them in a way that was almost breathtaking. Of course, the fact that the little kitten was completely naked was distracting in and of itself. Sirius' eyes travelled down her body, thanking Merlin that she had decided to tie her hair up so that he could gaze at her slim shoulders.

His eyes moved down her back, admiring the soft curves and the supple dips. He lingered on her arse, hoping that he wasn't drooling at the sight of the perfectly rounded globes. Travelling down, Sirius took in her thick thighs and toned calves before they tapered off to slim ankles and small feet.

"You're drooling."

Sirius jumped at the sound of the little kittens shadow. He looked to see the teen smirking at him and sent him a glare that simply had him chuckling.

"Shut up, brat," he growled.

"It's not my fault you reek of arousal," Holland smirked, "I could smell it from across the clearing."

"I just wasn't expecting the little kitten to be… well…"

"Naked?" Holland questioned innocently, "did you honestly expect her to let her clothes be torn when she changes?"

"Remus always carried an extra change of clothes," Sirius argued.

"Yes, well, Remus has also been at war with his wolf since he was turned," Holland retorted, "we find that it is easier for our wolves to shift when they don't exert unnecessary energy tearing through clothes when we could simply remove them."

"But she couldn't bring a cloak to cover herself with until the change?" Sirius gritted out; his eyes still trapped on Hermione's back.

"What bothers you more?" Holland asked, "seeing her naked, knowing the last time you saw her before you disappeared into the veil she was only, what, sixteen? Or, seeing her and not being able to touch her in the way you so obviously want to?"

Sirius would have scolded the boy for interfering but all thought left his mind when Remus and Hermione turned to face them. The little kittens eyes were glowing gold, a sharp contrast to Remus' pale yellow, and the look in those glowing eyes was the very definition of predatory.

"You should change, Sirius," she said, her voice much huskier than it was the last time he had heard her before he had left the veil with the promise that she would be right behind him.

He barely registered the words as his eyes travelled to her breasts. They weren't overly large but they were big enough that they would perfectly fit into his hands. A deep purple bruise-like marking was there, small, vein like purple marks moving outwards across her chest. Sirius recognised the sign of spell residue. Some stuck around a lot longer than others.

Past her breasts was a toned stomach, a tattoo of a howling wolf on her side. The apex of her thighs was next and Sirius almost salivated at the small trail of hair that was neatly groomed to resemble a line that would lead to nirvana. A stern cough had his eyes snapping up to see Remus glaring at him from over Hermione's shoulder. The little kitten was blushing furiously and Sirius could hear Holland snickering beside him.

"Huh? Oh, right," he managed to get out past his dry throat before he began to, unnecessarily, remove his clothes.

He kept his eyes on the little kitten who seemed to be unable to remove her gaze from him as he slowly revealed his body to her eyes. Sirius inwardly smirked as he slowly unbuttoned his shirt, revealing his chest and torso to her wandering gaze. He saw her gulp as he reached for his slacks, unzipping them teasingly before he allowed them to pool at his feet.

Her face was a beautiful shade of red now as her glowing eyes determinedly looked past his shoulder and into the surrounding trees. Had they been the only ones present, Sirius would have been all too happy to strut over to the beautiful woman and make sure he was the only thing she could focus on before he would make her lose the ability to think all together. Sirius had long since reconciled with himself that he was attracted to the witch and Blacks had a way of always getting what they wanted.

At the exasperated sigh from his best friend, Sirius allowed his change to take over and found himself shrinking as he became Padfoot. Barely fifteen minutes later and Remus' pained screams filled his ears, making him whimper.

"It's okay," Hermione soothed the man as she kneeled before him, "it's going to be okay, Remus. I need you to stop fighting him, stop fighting Mooney and let him do what he needs to do. Just let go."

Sirius saw the moment Remus relinquished control, watching wearily as his best friend tackled the little kitten. He stepped forward to help only to find himself stopped by a black wolf with gold eyes. An angry growl fell from his muzzle only to be hushed when Holland gave him a deadpan look.

Moving his gaze back to Remus and Hermione when another pained scream filled the air, Sirius watched as Remus writhed above the little kitten who watched him with soft eyes filled with concern.

"I'm here, Mooney," she told the writhing man gently, "your pack is here."

Sirius growled when Remus, no… Mooney, suddenly sunk his teeth into Hermione's shoulder. He heard the little kitten grunt before she was grabbing Mooney by the hair and yanking his head away from her. The growl she released went straight to his groin and Sirius watched as she glared at the thrashing werewolf above her, utterly unphased that she was being straddled by a naked man.

"I am your Alpha and you will submit to me, Mooney," she told him sternly.

Mooney continued to writhe in her grasp before he suddenly stopped. Hermione released him and he buried his steadily growing nose into her neck before he inhaled deeply. The sound of breaking and shifting bones filled the clearing a moment later and Sirius could only watch helplessly as Mooney dug his claws into the little kittens arms as he shifted. The scent of blood filled the area but Holland didn't move and neither did Sirius.

Almost an entire hour later, a scraggly looking wolf panted where Remus once stood. Sirius had never seen his friend look like this; he actually looked like a wolf and not the man, wolf hybrid Sirius had become familiar with over the decades. Beside him, the very wolf Sirius had seen in the veil was gently nuzzling his neck with her muzzle.

Mooney nuzzled back before he looked up and began growling. Sirius took a cautious step back only to have his vision blocked by Holland. The young wolf was standing between Mooney and Sirius, his butt in the air and his tail wagging furiously as he yipped at the older wolf. Instantly, Mooney's growls were cut off and his own tail began to wag before him and the pup were suddenly play fighting amongst the grass.

Sirius padded over to the little kitten who was laying down and watching the two fight with a soft look in her gold eyes. He gently nudged her with his muzzle and watched as she turned to look at him before she casually stuck her tongue out and licked his muzzle. Sirius blinked stupidly for a moment before he saw the amused look in her eyes and growled playfully.

The little kitten chuffed at him before she suddenly pounced, sending Sirius to the ground before she was suddenly running into the woods.

Sirius didn't hesitate to give chase, knowing his wards would keep Mooney from getting anywhere near the school whilst still giving him a large area to run around.

He chased the little kitten through the Forbidden Forest, admiring just how fast and graceful the female wolf was as she ran ahead. Occasionally, she would look back at him before she would suddenly change directions, keeping Sirius on his toes for the next hour and a half.

For a moment, Sirius lost sight of her, stopping so he could listen to see if he could pinpoint where she had vanished to. The sound of a cracking stick had his head snapping to the right before he gave chase once more. He came upon a small lake but no sign of the russet wolf he had been chasing. Daring to risk his own safety, Sirius change back so he could call for the little kitten.

Before a word could leave his lips, he found himself being grabbed and pinned to the trunk of a nearby tree. Sirius gasped as the breath was knocked out of him before his gaze fell upon glowing gold eyes.

"Kitten? I didn't think you could change back during the full moon," he managed to get out around the rapidly forming lump in his throat. He could feel her warm body pressed up against his, her breasts a soft and warm pressure on his chest as she looked up at him.

"Omegas and Betas can't," she told him huskily, "Alphas have a little more leeway when it comes to the rules. I can't hold this form for very long but we need to talk and I need to do it when the little witch isn't in control."

"Mia?"

She grinned wolfishly at him, "of course, love, who else would it be?"

"Now," she began, not allowing him the time to formulate a response, "my little witch is very stubborn and doesn't seem to want to do what is good for her so I'm forced to act against her wishes."

"What do you mean?"

"Have you heard of werewolf mating?" When Sirius nodded, Mia continued, "the little witch is something known amongst werewolves as a Potential. Someone who had the ability to mate with someone outside of her True Mate. With that said, Potential's still have their fated mates and my little witch just so happened to be reconnected with hers in the Veil."

"Fred?"

Mia rolled her eyes, "no, idiot, you. Am I going to have to spell everything out? You are our mate and my stubborn little witch refuses to act on it because of some misguided sense of justice for you. She believes that by telling you that you are our mate she will be stealing your choice of partner away from you."

"That's why she's been avoiding me," Sirius sighed, still trying to wrap his mind around the fact that the beautiful witch currently pressed up against him was his mate.

He knew all about mates. He and James had thoroughly researched werewolves when they had learnt Remus' secret. Sirius could remember the jealousy he had felt about his friend being about to find the one person that was a perfect fit for him.

"Yes, and I'm not going back to Alaska without our mate, whether she likes it or not," Mia huffed.

"Alaska?"

"Where our pack is; Hermione doesn't realise it yet, but she's already accepted the offer David made of becoming the new Alpha of the Alaska pack. We're needed there," Mia replied.

"How am I supposed to get kitten to accept the bond if we're in two different countries?" Sirius demanded.

He watched Mia's eyes light up excitedly, "so you wish to pursue the bond? This isn't just some attempt to save our life is it? Because I can tell you right now that all that bullshit about magical creatures dying without their mates is just that. Bullshit."

"I'm attracted to kitten," Sirius retorted hotly, "I've come to grips with that over the last two weeks. I want to pursue whatever it is I can feel between the two of us."

"Than come to Alaska," Mia demanded, "not with us. Come a few days after, when she isn't suspecting it. My little witch is stubborn so you're going to have to be persistent. Seduce her. We are already attracted to you; it shouldn't be too hard."

"You want me to seduce Hermione?" Sirius asked in a daze, hardly believing what he was hearing.

"I don't want you to merely seduce her," Mia purred, pressing herself closer to Sirius and mewling as she rubbed herself against his erection. Sirius felt his breath stutter at the action before her hot breath was at his ear. "I want you to chase her, catch her, and fuck her into the ground before marking her so the entire world knows that she belongs to you. That we belong to you. We want you inside of us so badly, love, to feel you deep within us. Deep enough that we'll feel you even when you're no longer inside of us."

Her hand was suddenly on his cock and Sirius hissed as she languidly began to stoke him. "We want to take you in and taste you," she whispered into his ear, her thumb trailing along the slit of his cock to collect the precum there before she went back to stroke him, her grip firmer. "Feel you pulse in our mouth as you cum down our throat," she moaned, licking the shell of his ear before she nibbled on the lobe.

Sirius groaned as he thrusted into her hand, encouraging her to move faster which she happily obliged. He could feel his climax rapidly approaching as she continued to whisper dirty things into his ear. A particularly sharp nip to his earlobe had Sirius cumming but before he could utter a single cry a set of warm lips suddenly covered his own.

What did you guys think? I must admit, this story is my first time writing smut so I might not be very good at it. Anyway, please don't forget to follow so you never miss an update. Leave me a review below and I will see all of you in the next chapter xx
