Chapter 15

Hagrid

I walked towards the Great Hall with others first year with miserable. This is because I knew that I might get spanked by Snape. Zabini and Nott looked confuse about my mood because it was an early morning. The class do not started yet. They keep glanced at me liked they want to say something but they thought it seems better if they keep quiet.

I chose pancakes mixing with honey and blueberries while Nott and Zabini decides to eat waffles. The pancakes were delicious but it cannot lifted my mood at all.

"Are you ok?"Zabini asked to break the silence.

"Yup. I am fine. No need to worry." I answered, stabbing my pancakes with fork. I saw from the corner of my eyes that Zabini tried communicated with Nott using their eyes.

"If you said so." Nott said with emotionless face but I can heard concern in his voice. I smile showing that I am alright but I do not think that they believe me because my smile looked strained. I saw Harry's familiar, Hedwig fly carrying a letter. Hm. I wonder. I got up from my seat and went to Gyffindor table without saying anything to Zabini and Nott.

"So, I didn't know that your family write to you?" I asked even though I knew that the letter might be from Hagrid. Harry and Longbottom startled.

"Ethan!" Both of them said. It's me, the amazing person. Hehe. Just joking.

"Yo!" I said with blank face.

"How can you said that with a blank face?" Harry asked with curious. Based on Longbottom face, I thought he might knew the answered.

"Why don't you tell him, Neville?" I said, looking at him. Harry stared at Longbottom.

"Harry, Slytherin usually didn't show their emotion." Longbottom said in lower voice, afraid that others will hear about it. From Harry expression, I think he understand about it.

"By the way, you didn't answered my question." Harry smiled sheepishly. He told me the letter was from Hagrid and said that Hagrid invited him to have a tea. He asked Neville and me whether we want to go with him or not. Neville agreed. I opened my mouth to give my answered that I wanted to join before remembering that I need to go to see Snape.

"No thanks. I have things to do later." I lied before saying goodbye to them and walked towards Slytherin table.

At Hagrid's place,

"I'm curious why he do not want to join." Harry said at Longbottom and Hagrid.

"Maybe he has homework to do?" Neville guessed.

"I'm not sure about it. What about you, Hagrid?" Harry asked.

"Nah, maybe he really have to do something important. Don't worry, Harry. As long as he is not in danger." Hagrid said smiling. He offered Harry and Longbottom cakes. Hagrid asked them about school, friends and their health.

Suddenly, Harry saw the newspaper about Gringotts' breaking. He elbowed Longbottom and point towards the newspaper.

"Hagrid, do you mind if we read that newspaper?" Neville asked.

"Of course not. Here!" Hagrid gave it to us. Longbottom and Harry read the newspaper. Harry whispered to Longbottom that he saw Hagrid with a small package the day Hagrid and him went to Gringotts.

"Hagrid, it is about the package that you had been ordered to take at Gringotts? Do you know what inside the package?" Harry asked innoncently. Hagrid lied to Longbottom and Harry that he do not knew what was inside the package. Clearly, Harry and Longbottom can see that Hagrid was lying. They decided to investigate about it.
