I hope my cousin knows that I'm coming, I did send a letter after all to the island he liveson.
It was Thanksgiving weekend and a female raccoon by the name of Cherry Nirohita Nook wason a Dodo Airlines flight to the island where her cousin, Tom lived with his kits for Thanksgiving which made her excitable and nervous not seeing him for a while knowing he was a success but she was hoping for things to go well being from Sakura Island which was faraway, hearing they were landing made her anxiety return, as the flight landed at theairport taking deep breaths getting off seeing villagers going about their business, wheeling her suitcase out of there, impressed by the islands's beauty wondering where her cousin lived feelijg sby, of islanders noticing her because she wasn't good at talking to others.
"You look like Tom, are you looking forhim, you're not from here, are you?" an islander told her seeing her shakimg her furry head in reply to the second part of the question, than the first part hearing she could find her cousin either at his shop or the Nook tavern.
"Thanks, I'll head there." Cherry said softly.
She then walkedon through the town until she found a store with her cousin's image on the sign guessing this was her cousin's store seeing two little male kits excitable about her being here, telling their dad loudly that Aunt Cherry was here while Tom was in themiddle of a sale making Cherry impressed, seeing him surprised she had made it because she normally never shown up for Thanksgiving seeing Timmy and Tommy studying their aunt curiously.
"It's good to see you cuz, I hope we can make you feel welcome, right boys?" Tom told Timmy and Tommy seeihg them nod as their dad was closing up shop for theday making the kits happy as they were going to their house seeing the other villagers curious about the newcomer while Timmy and Tommy were introducing their neighbours to Cherry making them notice she was shy knowibg their islandneighbourhood was friendly, asking where Cherry lived.
"I liveon Sakura Island which is very beauitful, but we don't have alot of islanders." she toldthem arriving at the Nook house seeing Tommy open the door using the spare key which their dad had told them to find, if he wascaught up at the store surprising Cherry as they went inside, seeing their aunt wheeling her suitcase into theguest room that Tom had set up for her, asking her if she was hungry or thirsty.
"Arigatou but I just feel tired adter flying." she told them.
She was feeling jet-lagged after getting here lying on the bed on her furry side, as her eyes closedin sleep just as Tom came home asking if Cherry was okay seeing both male kits nod telling him their aunt was tajing an nap which he guessed was jet-lag asking ifshe told them what island Cherry came from.
"Sakura Island dad, I think Aunt Cherry's really shy." Tommy told him seeing his brother agree.
Tom understood as he got that vibe from his cousin wondering if she was alright, so would ask her after she woke up seeing hiskits goijg outside to play because dinner would be a while so would rather them do that then be under his paw after working all day at hisstore with their help as they earnt allowance this way, making himself tea sitting down at the kitchen table, hearing his sons laughing while playing smirking.
Tom realised it was dinnertime telling Timmy and Tommy to come inside to wash their paws for dinner.
"What about Aunt Cherry?" Tommy asked his dad.
"She's still sleeping, we'll save some for when she wakes up." Tom replied.
After a while Cherry began to stir feeling better after sleeping feeling hungry as she hadn't eaten in a while since leaving Sakura Island so was in the kitchen making herself sushi which was one of her favourite foods, and loved the sushi bar back home unaware that Tom was curious about what she was doijg impressed she was eating sushi and riceballs askihg her if she wantedhelp seeing her shaking her furry head in reply wondering what was wrong, why was he staring?
"You're not much of a talker huh, mayge we can help with that, Timmy and Tommy adore you, you know?" he said to her.
Cherry smiled at that, as the kits were adorable explaining that the island she lived on had a few villagersbesides herself so kept to herself which he understood knowing Thanksgivihg like Christmas was a time for family, she was family after all so he couldhelp her out with her shyness a little seeijg her curious about this seeing she was not showing him eye-contact like some of the customers at his store seeing her handing him a mug of warm milk which would help him sleep after a long day of working.
Thar next morning the Nooks were up but Cherry was helping with breakfast just as Timmy and Tommy ran in sitting at the table being cute and rambunctious despite Tom sighing at this, it happened every morning which made Cherry giggle as they were adorable seeing them getting ready for the day thankijg Cherry for the breakfast along with the lunches she'd made them and Tom which they thought sweet leaving the house for the day, plus Tom had suggested to Cherry to explore the island.
She guessed that was a good idea deciding to explore, locking the house door after leaving feeling a little overwhelmed by the many villagers on the island compared to hers, seeing it was just as beauitful but after a while, she was feeling cold seeing the Roost hearing from Tom that it was a staple in the community deciding to go get some hot cocoa entering, noticing a pigeon barista serving villagers.
"Did ypu go to KK Slider's concert?" one asked another sitting at a table.
"Yep it was awesome, we shouldget going, we got a flight to catch." the other said.
Cherry found a vacant table out of the way, feeling anxious knowing her cousin had the rep hoping she could make friends when she felt comfortable here which might take a while, breathing deeply, unaware the pigeon barista had been watching knowing she was with Tom while she was here but different curious about her knowing with the wintry weather, she could use a cuppa to warn her up seeing her nearly jump out of her fur when she noticed he was there.
"Sorry if I scared you, the name's Brewster what's your name, can I get you something?" he said.
"Hot cocoa please, my name's Cherry by the way." she replied to him.
