My eyes diverted from the Flareon in front of me, catching sight of where Nate was playing, I stood up to join in. "Hey! I wanted to speak to you!" the Flareon ran ahead of me, tail wagging, eyes lit with excitement. "Why do you want to speak with me?" Flareon bowed, and looked me dead in the eyes. "Because it's my lucky day, I got a new friend to play with," he said. Well, that wouldn't be too bad, though what would I play with a Flareon? The only times I've seen a Flareon was whilst battling against them, how in the world do I even play?

My old trainer had taken so much of my kithood from me, hopefully wrestling wasn't one of the things Flareon wanted to do. I lowered myself to the ground, remembering at least one game I did know. Before I knew it, Flareon placed a paw on my forehead, said. "You're it!" then took off at a relatively slow pace so I could catch up. He read my mind.

It didn't take me too long to catch up with my new "friend". I made sure to keep Flareon on his tail, while also making sure not to run too fast. After about 20 minutes, I pounced on the Flareon, knocking him off his feet, and tagging him. "You're it," I said, trotting away. A smug grin came to my face when he stood up and got ready to start running after me.

Flareon gave chase to me, keeping at a slower pace to keep our game going on. If this is what playing was, I wanted to do it all day long. Interacting with a Pokemon simply to have fun, not fight it for a human's pleasure, was something quite enjoyable.

Flareon, not wanting to be it anymore, picked up the chase and tackled me. It barely hurt getting pinned to the ground like I was, but the fire Pokemon still felt the need to check if I was okay. "I didn't tackle you too hard did I?" The look of concern in his eyes were like that of a young Eevee, it was almost kind of sweet how nice he was being. "Trust me, you'd know if I yelped." With a smile he got off of me, getting ready to run again. I lowered my ground, just as I was about to chase him, a voice called.

"C'mon Flareon! We're going home!"

Immediately the Flareon's ears fell, he turned to his approaching trainer. "Did you meet a new friend?" she said. Smiling at me, she kneeled down and extended a hand towards me. Flareon's eyes glued on me with a small grin. I took a small step back. "She won't hurt you, she's pretty nice," Flareon walked behind me and tried to nudge me towards his human. I didn't want anything to do with trainers, not again.

Before I knew it, a hand made its way onto my forehead and was rubbing it. Flareon's trainer smiled at me. She removed her hand and immediately ruffled the tuft of fur on my head. "Maybe we will try and meet you back here at some point," she said. Not too long after, she and her Pokemon started heading towards the gate.

If I had a trainer like that Flareon has, maybe I would have turned out better, who knows? I might actually enjoy said trainer's company.

After the two had left, I started heading back towards Nate's mother, but then turned immediately when I saw the child. While his mother was speaking to the other adults, it looked like Nate was being pushed around by some larger kids. Without another thought, I slowly started making my way over to him.

"C'mon little guy, how will you stand up and fight, if you can't stand up straight?" Nate got up, only to be pushed back to the ground. I quickly ran in between Nate and the stranger. "Ninetales?" Nate looked relieved that somebody had come to his rescue. "Do you know these children?" the boy shook his head. "You think your pet's going to save you?"

One of the bullies, who seemed to be the leader, threw a fist my way, and it collided with the back of my head. I slowly turned my head and side eyed him. Before turning back to Nate. "Is there anything that hurts?" Nate shook his head. I could tell he skinned his knees, but that was it. Another fist hit the back of my head. This bullie's hits barely did anything after the years of battles I had to endure.

After the third punch, I finally took my focus off of Nate. I turned around and was immediately punched in the nose. I fake yelped, and took a step back. "Even your Ninetales is weak!" one of the other bullies said. The four of them got ready to join in on trying to beat me up. "Nate, run to your mother." he nodded and ran towards where his mother was sitting. I rubbed my nose with my paw, trying to appear weak.

In truth, if it weren't for the fact that these boys had mothers, they'd be a pile of ashes. One of them threw another punch, which I dodged, and tried to "limp" away. "Why are you trying to hurt our Ninetales?" I looked up and Nate's mother was walking up, hands on her hips. "We were just helping it up!" one of the children said. They were trying to back away. "Ninetales, is this true?"

I tilted my head. "Daisy, they would be ashes right now, just for what they were doing to Nate. There wouldn't be anything left of them for hitting me." Daisy nodded. "You boys are going to apologize to my Ninetales and my son, and then you are going to show me where your parents are," she said. The bullies nodded, quickly apologizing to both me and Nate, and then were ordered to stay still.

"Are you okay Ninetales?" Daisy asked. "I am, they got me in the nose, which surprised me at best." the mother didn't take that for an answer. She knelt down, checking my nose to see if it was broken, I'll admit, when she pressed in, it felt like my nose bruised over. "You think you can make it without a visit to the Pokemon Center?" I nodded, since when when did a human have any concern over my injuries?

Daisy nodded, patting my head, and telling the bullies to take us to their parents. With scared looks in their eyes, they quickly gave me a death stare. Nate's mother quickly caught that and scolded them for it. What a day.
