My eyes shuttered open, I kept getting small glimpses of the room I was in, it was the living room, but there were small sun rays gleaming through the window. They weren't very bright, in fact, the room was very dimly lit. I was still laying on Daisy's lap, she was fast asleep, her arms were locked around my neck. The mother shivered every now and then, it was probably a bit chilly for Daisy, given her lack of fur. If it were remotely cold, I wouldn't know because of the fire burning within me at all times, and my fur on top of that. Daisy could've gone up to her room after she left me on the couch, but why didn't she?

Surely she could have just left me on the couch, and been warm under a blanket. It certainly would've been more comfortable. Without thinking for too much longer, I shifted a bit in the human's grasp, and laid my tails over her. It's the least I could do after crying into her shoulder last night.

It didn't look like the two of us would be moving any time soon, and I was wide awake. With a sigh, I laid my chest against Daisy's shoulder in hopes of falling back to sleep. Nothing, not a single bit of sleep. Just even a minute of sleep felt like a dream right now. Daisy's grip on me tightened up and she snuggled deeper into my fur. The room was brighter than when I had woken up, a lot earlier. I've been awake for hours. At any point, Nate will come down stairs and the human I was using as a bed will wake up as well.

Daisy let out a yawn and stretched, her eyes were still shut, but I could tell she was awake. "Good morning Ninetales," she said, rubbing her eyes. After the woman opened her eyes, she continued to rub one with one hand, and scratched the back of my head with the other. "Good morning," I greeted. With a quiet bark, I was prepared to get off of Daisy's lap. It seemed like her mind finally woke up with her body, because she looked a bit scared for some reason.

That's when I remembered; she involuntarily was using my tails as a blanket. Maybe she thought she pulled them over her when she was asleep, and I couldn't blame her for being scared. I keep hearing about how touching any Ninetales' nine tails was a death sentence, but hopefully she'd figured I wouldn't curse her. She opened her door to me and let me cry myself to sleep in her arms. At this point she basically owned me, if I chose to remain here after this week. "You won't curse me or anything right Ninetales?" Daisy asked.

I could feel my eyes roll in my skull, without uttering a sound, or even attempting to use telepathy, I bared my fangs and made like I'd hurt her. Inching closer and closer to her face, Daisy closed her eyes, anticipating whatever she thought would happen to her. I nuzzled her and my expression softened. Daisy opened her eyes, a bit confused, but relieved. "Does that answer your question?" I asked. "I think I might need you to say that to me again," Daisy said with a grin, she giggled at my prank.

"If you wish, then I shall deliver."

This time, I licked her cheek, before getting off the chair to let the woman up. "And here I was thinking you'd actually bite me," Daisy said. "You think little old me would hurt a soul?" I asked innocently, baring my puppy eyes. The mother chuckled, patting me on the head before heading to the kitchen.

I sat down next to Daisy's feet and she shuffled around the kitchen, likely preparing breakfast for the three of us. My chances of getting kibble again were quite high, but at least it wasn't Oran Berries, plus it was a free meal. Can't complain about that.

"Hey Ninetales, can you go wake up Nate? I'm pretty sure he slept through his alarm again," Daisy requested. "Which room is his?"

"It should be the one closest to the stairs on the left. You won't be able to miss it because of what is on the door," Daisy said. Without another word, I padded up the stairs, immediately to my right was a plain white door, nothing special about it. To the left is a door covered in stickers. "Pokemon Master inside '' and other phrases like that were on every single sticker. Maybe this is why he was excited when it was decided that I would be staying here for a week.

Still, I wouldn't be too excited being told what to do by a child, but maybe for Nate I'd give it a shot. I still have a week to decide if I would like to stay here forever or not, so when the time comes, I'll make a choice.

My jaws latched onto the door knob, with a twist, the door opened up. It wasn't a big room, but it wasn't a big house, so that was expected. Posters with trainers and what I assume were their signature Pokemon lined the walls. There were a few posters of the same trainers, but with their entire team standing behind them. A Pokeball sat on the nightstand, I could guess that he would be catching his first Pokemon with it. Nate was sleeping, blanket off to the side, in some Pikachu Pajamas. His bed was a Snorlax bed. Despite how flashy it was, it was still a tidy room.

A loud beeping jammed its way into my head, making me cringe in pain. An alarm clock on the nightstand was practically jumping up and down from how loud it was, how can a child sleep through such a horrid sound. I braced myself as I walked up the nightstand, my ears were bleeding at this point, and pressed the button on top. The noise stopped, I sighed in relief, and whined at my aching ear drums.

Now for Nate.

I got up on my hind legs and stared at Nate for a split second, thinking of the many ways I could wake him up. With a quick jump, I was on the soft surface. With a malicious grin, I began breathing heavily next to Nate's ears, it at least gave me a good chance to get used to this child's scent anyways, but to no avail. It was like somebody used yawn on this one. I licked his ears, and Nate jumped. "I'm up!"

"Ninetales, what are you doing in here?" Nate asked.

"You slept through your alarm, your mother's making breakfast. So get up," I said. Gently nudged him until he got out of bed, and walked out of the room. It was kind of tempting to lay down and sleep, but I had to resist, Daisy wouldn't be too happy about finding another bedbug after the first got up.

I hopped down from the bed and followed suit. Whatever was being made downstairs smelled really nice, and which made me pick up my pace.
