Chapter 23

Halloween II

I went to the library after Herbology class to do the homework given by the Professor. I prefer to do it early so that I will have more free time.

"Tempus!" I waved my wand and saw that I only had two hours before going to the Halloween feast. What to do? Hm. Why not I read books about runes. I got up from my seat to search for Ancient Runes books. I chose to read 'History of Ancient Runes'. I so engrossed in the book that I did not realise that I only have 10 minutes before the feast start. I quickly cleaned the table and put back the book at its shelves. I jogged to the Great Hall and sat in front of Zabini.

"Where did you go? I almost thought that you do not want to go to Halloween feast." Zabini said and sipped his pumpkin juice. I told them that I was in library and lost track of time. I chose to eat sweet mash potatoes, corn, fries, mushroom soup, mac-and-cheese and spicy turkey. For drinks, I chose apple juice. I ate like there will be no tomorrow. Hehe.

Suddenly, the door opened and Professor Quirrell strode and shouted 'Trolls! Trolls in the dungeons' and fainted. All of us silence for a while before it registered to our mind. Argh!! Most of students shouted.

"Silence! Prefect please escort the students to their common rooms while teacher will follow me." Professor Dumbledore ordered. Wait a minute! Trolls! Granger! Oh shit! I thought and run towards the girls bathroom. Zabini and Nott yelled at me. But I ignored it. I saw that Harry and Weasley were already there fighting the trolls. I took my wand at point at the Trolls.

"Reducto!" I shouted. It hit but doesn't seems had any effect.

"Weasley! Take Granger and get out form this place!" I ordered. I saw from the corner of my left eyes, that Weasley did as I said. I saw Harry tried to duck the Trolls's bat. Ok, Ethan! Don't panicked! I tried to calm myself. I took a deep breath and shouted the incantation clearly.

"Reducto!" I put a lot of my magic hoping that it will work. The trolls fell on its back. I swayed a little, exhausted. Harry went to help me.

"Are you guys, ok?" I asked them. Granger looked shaken while Weasley and Harry seems pale a little.

"We are fine. Are you ok? Because you seems like you will collapse any moment." Harry said, holding my left arms. I nodded.

I tried to ask them but keep quiet when hearing the footsteps. We saw Professor McGonagall, Professor Dumbledore, Professor Snape and Professor Quirrell.

"What is going on here? Miss Granger? Mr Weasley? Mr Kingcrown and Mr Potter?" Professor McGonagall shocked seeing us. As you knew, it happened like in the movie where Granger lies to the teacher, we got 5 points for our braveness. After that, we went to our own common rooms. Professor Snape put his hand gently on my neck and guide me to Slytherin common room.

"I'm sorry." I said softly, keeping my head down. I heard Professor Snape sighed.

"We will talk later." That was the only words he said until we reached his quarters.

"Are you hurt somewhere?" Professor Snape said while waving his wand to see whether I am injured or not.

"I'm fine. Just a bit tired." I said. I am not joking when I said that I am tired. I already dozed off a few times.

"You just exhausting yourself." Professor Snape summon house elf to bring a hot chocolate for me. He ordered me to drink it. Hm. So delicious. I sipped more hot chocolate, already feeling stress leaving my body. Suddenly, I remember that he got injured because of three-headed dog.

"Are you ok, uncle sev? I saw blood on your leg." I said with concerned. I looked at his leg but he hid it.

"Nothing serious. Why don't you finish your drink and go to bed." He said, sitting down on his chair. I finished the hot chocolate, wishing him a goodnight and left. I knew that even though I want to stay and help him, he might not take it well. He is independent person. What a troublesome!
