I raised my head off of Daisy's chest, my eyes surveyed the room, a tiny bit of light gleamed through the window, but other than that, it was completely dark. With a quick glance out the window, I knew a new day had come. Two more and I am out of here, sounded great, but also a tiny bit scary. Would the Mightyena and its trainer try to catch me as soon as they realise I am alone? Somebody else will at least attempt to, with how long a Ninetales can live, it's bound to happen. If I didn't stay, I would probably end up being Nate's Pokemon, fighting for him so he can reach that dream nearly every trainer had. Maybe Daisy would assume the role of my trainer, take care of me, and then I wouldn't need to worry about food. When I do leave, I will likely miss this little home, it was nice, peaceful, and I was guaranteed safety while I resided here.

If I stayed and became Daisy's Pokemon, I would easily outlive her, and probably end up depressed for a while. Even with the fact that I could probably just find another human if I desired, from how every single human who was a trainer, Ninetales was a Pokemon long to be desired. Being very capable of being a good battler, pretty enough to be used in contests, and apparently loyal enough to just be a good pet. Letting a Ninetales go just seemed like a waste to most humans. If Daisy were to become my trainer, I wouldn't mind it, I would likely just end up being a pet, and at most have to look after Nate when she goes shopping. I have to admit, I do enjoy the woman's company. She had gone out of her way to be uncomfortable these two nights just to keep me from being lonely.

If yesterday was anything to go by, it would be a while before either Nate or Daisy would wake up, so I laid my head back down, closer to Daisy's face. My tails curled up over the two of us like a blanket, and I closed my eyes.

The woman's hand raised and landed on my shoulder, rubbing it while we cuddled. "You know, you could just sleep in. we don't have anything to do today," the woman said, eyes still closed. "Sleeping in isn't in my blood, if I were to do such a thing in the wild, I'd be dead," I said, readjusting to get more cozy. "Then get used to sleeping in, you got two more days to do so, so why not enjoy them?" Daisy's eyes were struggling to stay open, but kept them on me. A small smile came to Daisy's face, another hand landed right on the tuft of fur on my head. The look in her eyes said it all.

She thought I was cute.

I groaned as the woman squished the excess skin on my cheeks, but did nothing to stop Daisy from playing with it. "I'm not a vulpix anymore, you should not be finding this enjoyable," I pouted. Daisy just giggled as she stopped, and went back to running her hands through my fur. "I swear, you humans are monsters," I said, rolling my eyes as Daisy poked my nose. "It's your fault for being adorable!" she said.

It wasn't long before Daisy closed her eyes again, hugging my head, and falling back to sleep. The day I tell her that I secretly enjoyed this sort of attention is the day I die.

My eyes snapped open, I was alone, sitting before my trainer. He was going on and on about a new strategy he had come up with. Every time I looked in his eyes, they weren't even looking for my approval. "Of course, you're going in to set up a Sunny Day, and you'll likely get knocked out soon after that and-." I gave up on trying to follow his battle plans. All I am is a punching bag for whoever I'll be fighting, since I doubt my trainer would even let a "weakling" evolve. Why would he? He has plenty of Pokemon that are simply more capable than I, those are the ones he even remotely cares about. My brain just began focusing on what will happen during and after the battle.

First, I would be knocked out, that was a given. It's not even a question at this point, I will simply be overwhelmed by my opponent, and be out in mere seconds. Then I will get yelled at by my trainer, being called various insults, but I would mostly be called worthless. "God! If you were a Ninetales you would be more useful. But because you're weak, I can't afford to get you to evolve." Would be where his yelling would lead to. One slap across the cheek, several Oran Berries, and another round of verbal abuse. Then I'll be stuck in a Pokeball until my trainer wants me to get knocked out again.

All of a sudden there was the roar of a crowd, cheering for the battle they were about to watch.

I looked down at my paws, they weren't the golden furred paws that I was used to seeing. Before I could even blink, I was thrown into a battle, avoiding a Rock Tomb, just as soon as reality had hit me. My trainer barked an order at me, but I did nothing. Why should I? I'll be battling for him for the rest of my life, with not even a chance at having a life. My eyes darted off the floor as a Rock collided with my face.

My head jerked up, my eyes looking everywhere, the ceiling, the floor, the windows, and the small T.V. My heart and head was pounding and my breathing rate was very fast. I was back in the house, but Daisy was in the kitchen. I was on the couch, instead of the chair the two of us shared. Nate had just come down stairs, still in his pajamas, and had come down the stairs groggily. My eyes closed in relief, and my breathing slowed down.

No battles, no yelling, just the sound of cooking from the kitchen.

"Ninetales, wake up!"

Daisy was standing in front of me, rubbing my head, with a smile. "Yes, Daisy?' I asked, leaning into the hand. "Breakfast is ready, now come on, it'll be cold if you keep lying here." I groaned as the woman slid her hands underneath me, pulling me up from my position on the couch. I very quickly dropped the memory of my dreams as I fought tooth and nail to lay down. "Fine, I was going to give you a nice, big, juicy plate of bacon for breakfast, but I suppose you don't want that!" Daisy teased. "Is that what I smelled for the last couple days?" I asked. the Woman nodded. My body shot up from the couch and rushed into the kitchen. To my surprise, where my food bowl usually laid, was a plate with bacon piled up on top of it.

Daisy walked through the little walkway, took a seat at the table, and started beginning on her breakfast.

My eyes shot from her and the plate of bacon. "Are you sure you want to give me this?" The woman nodded. "I wasn't lying. I know how good a Ninetales' sense of smell is, so I assume you smelled it these last couple of mornings. I figured you should spice it up this morning, and not have to eat Pokemon food… at least for today." Daisy added.

"Plus, you've been a sweet girl in the time you've been here, so you deserve it. Just think of this as a thank you for trusting us with your well being for the week."

I forced a tear to not fall. "Thank you," I finally muttered, before going to my plate. If Daisy wasn't already my favorite human, She'd be well up the list of people I've met. There wasn't even a question to it, if she wanted something out of me, I would not hesitate in doing it for her.
