The next day, at school, Marci spotted me and came to me.

"I just want to tell you that I can't come to the sleepover tonight or to the Christmas Eve Party because my family is going out of town for the night from when we get out of school today and we won't back until between 10:00 and 11:00 pm tomorrow night, but we can come over the day after with Patti and Kathi like we planned to," said Marci.

"That's fine," I said.

"Good thing we already had permission from your father just in case," said Marci.

"I know. What time do you girls plan to come over?" I asked.

"I'll let you know the time," said Marci.

"No problem," I said.

"And, I have an idea: we can make up for it. Maybe we can sleepover at your house on Christmas Day and you can do the same at my house the day after," said Marci.

"Okay, we can do it that way," I said. "I can check with Dad and call you."

At lunch, the girls made out to come over at 4:30 pm and we can go to the club meeting.

"I can't wait until tomorrow night," said Claudia.

"Me, either," I said. "Marci came to me this morning. She couldn't make it tonight or tomorrow. Her family is going out of town for a Christmas Eve and won't be back until late. I understood. We're going to make up for it. She and the other girls can sleepover on Christmas Day while I go do the same at Marci's."

"That's a good idea," said Kristy.

"I told her I'd check with my dad and get back to her," I said.

"We should do something together tomorrow since the party isn't until six," said Claudia

"I got a report about we did over the holidays, I'll do it later this weekend. We got time before we get back to school," I said.

"Us, too," said Kristy.

"I plan to add our party to the report," I said.

After school, at home, I went to Dad who has Christmas Vacation off and told him about Marci's other plan.

"I told her that I'd ask you and get back to her," I said.

"That's fine by me so they can make up for it," said Dad.

"I can understand that they got plans," I said.

"Me, too," said Dad.

I called Marci and told her.

"Good," said Marci.

At 4:00 pm, Dawn and I changed up. I curled my hair for the sleepover. We were ready when the group arrived before 4:00 pm.

"Hi, girls," Dawn and I greeted them all.

"Hi," said the other girls.

"We dare you all to enter," teased Dawn.

"It's Christmas, not Halloween," said Stacey as they all came in.

"Good one, girls," I said as we giggled,

That was when Dad showed up.

"Hi, girls," Dad greeted them.

"Hi, Mr. Spier," they choired.

At 5:15 pm, we left for the club meeting. It wasn't too busy. Back at home, Dad ordered Chinese for dinner. After we had supper, we watched two Christmas movies, A Christmas Carol and It's A Wonderful Life. They're both my favorite movies at this time of the year even though I like to watch them all year around. After we watched both movies, we all comfy to be all set. We didn't go to bed until it was almost midnight.
