Marci, Kathi, Patti, and I were up by 9:00 am and got dressed. I was packing my overnight bag since I'll be at their house for the night when my cell phone rang as I answered.

"Hello," I said.

"Hi. It's Mrs. Prezzioso," said Mrs. Prezzioso. "My husband and I are going to do some errands shortly. I know it's the last minute, but do you mind come over and keep an eye on Jenny?"

"I don't mind. I got some friends with me. Can they come along?" I asked. "We plan to hang out afterwards."

"That's fine by me," said Mrs. Prezzioso.

"What time are you guys leaving?" I asked.

"In 30 minutes," said Mrs. Prezzioso. "We won't be gone long."

"We'll be right over," I said.

"Thank you," said Mrs. Prezzioso.

Dawn and Jeff left for California an hour ago. Sharon brought them to the airport early this morning and their flight is for 10:30 am. Grandma Verna is staying until after the new year, which I would be back in school when she leaves here. I told the girls about the last minute plan and they didn't mind.

"We can just come back to get our overnight bags after that," said Marci.

"Okay, good idea," I said.

I told Dad and added we'll be stopping by for our overnight things.

"That's fine. honey," said Dad.

At Jenny's, she showed me some new gifts that she had. She got a few dresses, Connect four, some jewelry, etc. She was in her in a new dress when we got there. She looked nice in it.

"We can do connect four when I'm baby-sitting anytime," I said.

"Okay," said Jenny. "May we play it now?"

"Sure," I said.

That's what we did. She was actually good at me and won a couple of games. Although the other girls don't like her, I have no problem with her at all. In fact, she behaves better than D.J. Marci, Patti, and Kathi enjoyed watching her, too.

We ended up watching a new movie that she got as well. We were having a good time when her parents came back by 11:00 am.

When I got home later, Dad said, "Mallory came by to drop something off for you. It's on your vanity."

"Okay," I said.

I had already packed my overnight bag last night to save time. We went up to my room to get our things when I saw a gift bag.

"I'm anxious to see what it is," said Marci.

I saw the name tag saying it was from Vanessa. I opened the card from her along with a note: 'Dear Mary Anne, I decided to make you something very special because you are a wonderful to me. I also made you something to you when you deserved it because you're a great sitter. I hope you'd enjoy it. Merry Christmas. Your client, Vanessa.' That was sweet of her. When I unwrapped the gift, I noticed it was a book from Vanessa.

"That's cool," said Patti.

I was reading those ten pages of poems she wrote about me to the girls. After I finished reading them, Marci said, "That was very nice on what Vanessa did for you."

"She wants to be a poet," I said.

"She'd be good at it," said Kathi.

"She also rhymes when she speaks," I said.

"That's good," said Patti.

"Do you mind if I make a quick phone call before we take off?" I asked.

"Of course," said Marci.

"You can meet us out on the porch," said Patti.

"I'll take your bag," offered Kathi.

"Sounds good, thanks," I said.

I went to the phone to dial Mallory's number and Mrs. Pike answered.

"Hello," said Mrs. Pike.

"Hi. Is Vanessa available?" I asked.

"Sure, Mary Anne, hold on," said Mrs. Pike.

That was when Vanessa came on and said, "Hi, Mary Anne."

"I just wanted to thank you for the gift. I loved it especially with the poems dedicated to me," I said. "Marci, Kathi, and Patti loved it, too."

"I'm glad you did since you're the best sitter in the world," said Vanessa.

"I'll keep it forever," I said.

After we finished chatting on the phone, I went to get it to show Dad.

"Look what Vanessa made for me," I said getting the book of poems to show it to him. "She made these poems that are dedicated to me."

"Wow," said Dad after he read them. "That was very sweet of her."

"I just called her to thank her," I said.

"Good," said Dad.

Then, I left to meet the girls out there and took off to Patti's.

"I'm going to show it to the other crew," I said.

"They'd love it," said Marci.

When we got to Patti's, we went to drop it off in her room.

"We can do a pizza and a movie night," said Patti.

"That's always fun," said Kathi.

"Sounds like a good plan to me," I said.

We love doing that during sleepovers.

"We can still go out for lunch," said Patti.

"Okay, great," I said.

That's what we did. We went to the diner. It's our favorite place to have lunch or dinner. After we ate, we shared a large hot fudge sundae. After we had, we decided to go out at the mall for awhile. We stayed for a couple of hours and went back to Patti's. That night, she ordered pizza.

"We can watch a movie while we wait," said Marci.

"We can do like a buffet," said Kathi.

"Makes sense," I said.

"I like the thought of that," said Marci.

"Me, too," said Patti. "It will be in ten minutes."

We were bringing in paper plates. We started watching a movie when the doorbell rang.

"That must be the pizza," said Kathi.

"That was fast," said Marci.

Patti got up to get it and brought it in. We put it on the table and used it as a buffet area. We do half cheese and half pepperoni. Patti went to get it and brought it in the living room. We each had two pieces. Buffet is the best part during sleepovers. After we were done, we paused the movie to clean up. Patti went out to throw out the pizza box with the trash bag. We went back to the movie when she came back in. We also put on our nightgowns between 8:00 and 8:30 pm.

We went to bed for 11:00 pm. We do this in her room. She has twin beds as well. That was the best part. Her mom did that so she can use it for sleepovers. Marci and I shared one bed while Patti and Kathi shared the other bed. They both have two pillows, so that was perfect. We whispered in bed until we went to sleep before 11:30 pm.
