Building The Team
Hello and welcome back in this chapter we will be introduced to the first two members of Mario's team the Fireballs hopefully you enjoy it and without a further of a do lets continue Strikers Road Climb
Again it should be noted I do not own Mario or Mario Strikers Charged all rights belong to Nintendo and Next Level Games
Mario woke up early next morning, he got out of bed to brush his teeth and took a quick shower to wash away any morning drowsiness he might of still had. Once out he changed in his regular attire his dark red shirt with bright blue denim overall with two yellow buttons on each side, he put on his brown work boots before putting his white gloves on each hand and lastly grab his iconic red hat with big red M inside a white circle to finish the look.
He checked himself in the mirror quickly and once satisfied with is appearance he could start off his day, first things first he had two phone calls to make. Mario went to the home phone on a table place next to the couch in the living room. Mario sat down on the far right of the couch and picked up the black phone and started dialed a number he hadn't called in a while. The phone rang four times then a voice started speaking on the other line the Mario was happy to hear.
"Kenny Koopa speaking, who am I talking too?" spoke the red Koopa Troopa that played with Mario way back then. Mario who was still smiling replied in a laid backed voice "Hey Kenny you remember-a me?". "Oh, my koopa king is that you Mario?" Kenny the red shelled koopa responded in a shocked voice while placing his hand on the back top of his head. "Yea it's been while hasn't it" Mario said in a guilty sounding voice he hadn't spoken to any of his team after the super bowser cup, there wasn't any bad blood or anything it's just they all kind of went their own ways.
"Hey, it's ok Mario if it makes you feel any better, I could have done a better job staying in touch" said the red koopa. "But hey let's move past that is there something you want to talk about?" asked Kenny to his former captain. Mario got back on track to the matter at hand to ask his past sidekick an important question "Why yes actually" he started "Strikers is coming back and I signed up and I was-a wondering if you'll like to join my team?".
Kenny smiled at the question being asked to him and already knew his answer before he even heard the question. "Mario of course I'll join your team it'll be just like the good old days" Mario smiled at the enthusiastic answer his former now again sidekick "But I have some bad news" Kenny quickly added wiping the smile right of the plumber's face.
"The other two koopas probably won't be up to play with us so we'll need to find two other koopas to replace them" Kenny said in a painfully sad voice. Mario chuckled at his sidekick's concern which surprised him to hear Mario laughing. "Kenny don't worry first off in this year's strikers I can have three different sidekicks" as he held up three fingers even though Kenny couldn't see him "secondly I was-a only going to ask you to join". "Why me?" asked the red shell turtle in a confused voice.
Mario was a little surprised to hear Kenny question himself so much, so he calmly responded, "Because you were my best teammate Kenny, you stayed up late nights with me watching game film and drawing up game plans you were like my co-captain". Kenny was stunned by his captain high praise of him and after hearing that any doubt was washed way immediately. "Alright you got it, want me to come over?" he asked. "Sure, can you come by noon?" Mario offered politely. "On my way" Kenny quickly replied and just as quickly he hung up already making his way to Mario home.
Mario laughed and hung up as well then picking up the phone again dialing a new number and letting it ring after a few seconds he heard a low gruffly on the other side. "Who is this" the ominous voice asked in a rough tone. Mario cough to clear his voice and simplify said "Kingston". "Mario?" the green Kritter asked in an astonished voice "Is that you" he asked again but the kritter didn't wait for an answer as he already it was him.
"Mario how you been?" he asked even though see still talked in his low pitch voice the tone was much nicer and Mario could tell he was just as happy as he was to be talking to him again. "I've been good, what about you Kingston?" Mario answered then asking his former goalie the same question. "Nothing much after we stop playing strikers, it's been kind of boring and I miss the old team" said the tall kritter in a defeated voice he really did miss playing strikers with and in his own words His Boys. Mario knew he would sound like this he was the most passionate about the game on his team and he had so much fun playing the game you could just tell by seeing into his eyes.
"Well I got some-a great news for you" Mario started off wanting to wait so he could get his former goalkeeper attention and continued his sentence. "Strikers is coming back and there's only one kritter I-a trust defending my goal" he stopped again to let Kingston process the information before finishing off with a "So what do you say my friend?"
Kingston opened his month in shock hearing the news and the offer his old captain was offering him and said in an enthusiastic almost shouting voice of course he would return to his post and goal keep. Mario was happy to hear that his goalie was just as excited as he was to get back on the field then he heard the tall green goalkeeper ask him something.
"So, are we getting the old gang back together?" Mario quickly explain that only Kenny is coming back and the other two koopas won't be interested anyways if he asked them. "But don't worry I am allowed to-a have three different sidekicks this time around" Mario quickly added at the end of his explanation to his goalie.
Kingston was skeptical at the news they would have two new teammates but decide to keep his tongue shut for the meanwhile before asking if he would like him to come over. Mario asked if he could arrive to his house by noon and Kingston agreed to meet him both said their goodbyes and hung up. Mario put down the phone and got up to make sure his legs didn't fall asleep then he turned his head to see the clock on his wall to read the time 9:48 am. He had a little over two hours before his men would be arrive then suddenly, he heard a loud growling noise come from his stomach. The plumber then realized until know he didn't eat all morning.
"Wow I can't believe I didn't eat anything this-a morning" he said in shock at himself and started walking to the kitchen to eat some grub before the arrival of his teammates

A bit of context in Super Mario Strikers my favorite team was Mario and the koopas as my sidekicks and in Mario Strikers Charged one of my sidekicks was a koopa so I thought it would be a interesting idea to say one of the koopas followed Mario to his charged team so I went along with it and as for the kritter in both games your goalie will always be a kritter (unless you played as the super team) so like the koopa i thought it would be a cool idea to say the kritter followed Mario to his charged team as well.
As for the team yes this is the personal team I used in my road to the striker cup playthrough and in the next chapter I will be introducing the final two sidekicks can you guess who they are?
