Chapter seventeen: The Yaoyorozu rescue mission

"What? You girls want to throw together a team to go rescue Yaoyorozu?"

With the exception of Bakugo, Shinso, Shinra, and Shizuo who were all still out of it due to being subjected to knockout gas from the villain Mustard, all of the students of Class 1-A were meeting in secret in one of the rooms at the hospital. There, Mina and Jiro informed Uraraka and Tokoyami, who were brought in by Mina, that the other girls of 1-A want to throw together a team to go get Yaoyorozu back from the second League of Villains. Upon being told that the girls want to throw together such a plan, Uraraka was the sole female objector, although a number of boys such as Tokoyami also had concerns.

Jiro nodded in the affirmative, saying, "Oh come on, guys! We can't let Yaoyorozu stay within the villains' grasp! We need to save her!"

"And how, pray tell, do you propose we do that?" Shoji asked, "I mean, even if I were okay with the idea of a group of us going in to do something that with all due respect I feel ought to be left to the pro heroes and police, we lack the means to find where the villains have taken Yaoyorozu off to!"

Gesturing to Jiro, Mina said, "When Yaoyorozu made the tracking device necklaces and gave one to Todororoki so he could be tracked because we thought the villains were coming for him due to his pro hero dad Endeavor, Yaoyorozu made two others, one she kept for herself and one she gave to Jiro. The necklaces work to track each other down, so we can use the one Jiro has to find and rescue Yaoyorozu."

Nodding in the affirmative, Jiro remarked, "It's rather lucky that my necklace wasn't taken. I thought for sure that the adults would have taken it after Todoroki submitted his with the hopes that the pro heroes and police could use it to track down where the villains took Yaoyorozu off to."

"I..." Todoroki began, "...Actually forgot that Yaoyorozu made a necklace like that for Jiro to hold onto. If I hadn't forgotten about it, then I most likely would have told the heroes and police about it."

"Well then it's a good thing you're forgetful sometimes, Todoroki," Hagakure said, "Now come on! I say a team composed of just the rest of the girls here should be sufficient to rescue Yaoyorozu!"

The other girls all gave cheers showing that they were all on board with the idea. ...Aside from Uraraka, whose worried expression conveyed concern. "Umm, girls, I think that we ought to just let the pro heroes and police handle things here," Uraraka spoke up.

The gravity girl's remark drew the rest of the girls, as well as some of the boys, to look right at her. "What?" Kurata said, "How come you don't want to go rescue Yaoyorozu?"

"Yeah, what do you have against her, Uraraka?" Yamamaya asked, some accusation in her tone.

"I have nothing against Yaoyorozu," Uraraka shot back, "But you girls are suggesting we go sneak over to where a group of dangerous villains are hunkered down, sneak in, find and grab a classmate, then get out of there! Do you know how dangerous that can be?"

"Uraraka's got a point," Shoji said, "Like I said, we ought to leave this to pro heroes and police, who all have years of experience, rather than have a group of us, teens who have less than a year's experience each, try to pull it off."

Dark Shadow, who was out and hanging next to Tokoyami, said, "Finally, some of you guys show common sense! Seriously, the heroes counted fourteen villains who attacked the training camp. We back there had them outnumbered a little over three to one, and yet they STILL pulled their plans off flawlessly! Assuming this idea for a group of Fumi's classmates does go to rescue the class rep, and assuming it's composed of just the remaining girls in this class, that's six going up against fourteen! You'll be outnumbered a little over two to one! And the numerically superior side there was the numerically inferior side from the training camp disaster who, as I had said, soundly whipped the heroes' side back then! This is suicide!"

Scoffing in mild annoyance, Jiro said, "It's not like we plan to actually fight any of those villains, Dark Shadow! We're just going to sneak in, find Yaoyorozu, grab her, then get the hell out of there!"

"Yeah, exactly!" Hagakure said, "And like I said, we can pull it off with just the other girls here!" Throwing in an invisible hand, Hagakure said, "Now who's with me?" Jiro, Mina, Kurata, and Yamamaya all put their hands in, then turned to look expectantly at Uraraka.

"...Well?" Jiro said to the gravity girl, clearly expecting her to throw a hand in as well.

Gently shaking her head, Uraraka said, "I'm sorry girls, but I can't in good conscious take part in something like this."

"Oh come on, Uraraka!" Mina said, "This is for Yaoyorozu's sake!"

"The pro heroes and police are already planning their own rescue mission for Yaoyorozu's sake," Uraraka pointed out, "Not to mention the fact that if we act to do this, we'll be breaking so many rules. Most of us are already on thin enough ice as it is, and you girls want to do something that by its very definition will break literally every rule connected to it?"

Turning to look at the other girls, Tokoyami said, "Uraraka has a point. Aizawa-sensei if he knew some of us were planning to do something like this would put an immediate stop to it. Also, I can realistically see Asui if she were still with us being strongly against the idea of some of us trying to pull off a rescue mission like this."

Rolling her eyes, Jiro said, "Well Asui is dead, so I guess we can't say for sure what she'd say. And with all due respect, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in class who's fed up with how much of an ass Aizawa-sensei's being." At least half of the present Class 1-A students all nodded in agreement with Jiro, including the girls who wanted to go on the Yaoyorozu rescue mission.

Even Uraraka nodded in agreement with what Jiro said about the underground hero. "...You do have a point about Aizawa-sensei," Uraraka admitted, "But be that as it may, we still ought to leave this to the trained professionals. Only getting into trouble for doing this is the best possible outcome for us. The worst possible outcome for us if we do this is at least one of us getting killed!" The gravity girl gave the other girls in 1-A a pleading look. "...Please, girls," Uraraka said, "Please don't do this."

The other girls looked around, saw the looks on the faces of some of the boys; they all clearly agreed with the idea of leaving this matter to be solved by the pro heroes and police, if only due to some of them being afraid of drawing ire from Aizawa-sensei. Sighing, Jiro said, "...Fine. We'll just hope like hell that the pro heroes and police are successful in saving Yaoyorozu." The remaining girls all agreed with Jiro, albeit begrudgingly doing so to various degrees. Uraraka and the boys all relaxed, glad that they were able to convince Jiro, Ashido, Hagakura, Kurata, and Yamamaya from going through with trying to rescue Yaoyorozu.

With that matter settled, Tokoyami got up from where he was sitting. "...Going back to go see that Midoriya guy in Class 1-B again?" Mina asked as she saw Tokoyami move to leave the room.

"...Yes, actually," Tokoyami replied, "He's a good fellow, regardless of the fact he's not one of our classmates."

"Yeah, I wanna go back to check up on Izuku as well," Uraraka admitted as she got up to go with Tokoyami. The two of them left the room, leaving their classmates behind.

Cracking his neck a bit, Todoroki said, "They do have the right idea, Tokoyami and Uraraka. It would be a benefit to cultivate some goodwill between our class and 1-B."

Kaminari smirked in amusement at the son of Endeavor. "You're just saying that because Yanagi's in Class 1-B. And don't deny it, I saw you checking her out at least three times so far!" The tension began dying down, allowing the 1-A students to all relax. They were all feeling that things would be settled well enough, and the boys plus Uraraka all felt that the (other) girls were all successfully convinced against doing their plan to rescue Yaoyorozu from the villains, to leave that business to the police and pro heroes.

The boys and Uraraka all ended up being wrong.

Mina, Hagakure, Jiro, Kurata, and Yamamaya all met up outside of the hospital when everyone else had clocked out. "I still can't believe Uraraka doesn't want to help with saving Yaoyorozu," Mina said, "What a traitor! We're all girls in the same class, so it's all for one and one for all!"

"We can deal with telling her off after we successfully get Yaoyorozu back from the villains," Hagakure said, "Jiro, you still have that tracking device necklace, right?"

Jiro nodded in the affirmative as she patted her chest twice. "Still hidden under my shirt."

"Then we can get a move on with getting Yaoyorozu out of trouble," Kurata said, "Let's go already!"

"Shouldn't we at least get some disguises before going?" Yamamaya asked, "I mean, Uraraka did raise a point on how this can get us into trouble. At least disguises should help mask our appearence."

Mina nodded in conceding the point. "Fair enough. I saw that there's a used clothing store nearby, so we can grab stuff for our disguises there." With the plan set, the girls of 1-A aside from Uraraka who wasn't going and Yaoyorozu who was the rescue target took off to go save one of their own from the clutches of the villains who had taken her from the training camp.

...The girls were unaware that a shadowed figure saw them take off from the hospital.

...

Meanwhile at the police station, Naomasa and a few other policemen were meeting with a number of high ranking pro heroes; All Might was there of course, but so were Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, Edgeshot, Crust, Kamui Woods, Yoroi Musha, Mirko, Wash, Gang Orca, Gran Torino, Mandalay, and Ryukyu among others. "Thanks to the quick thinking of some of the students during the attack on their training camp," Naomasa said, "We know where the abducted Momo Yaoyorozu was taken off to."

"I heard that the students originally thought that the villains," Mirko began, "When said villains said they were going to kidnap one of the students, would be going after Endeavor's boy due to him being... well, Endeavor's boy. So why did they go after some random girl instead?"

"I'm surprised about that a bit as well," Endeavor admitted, "I mean, I can see the logic behind the villains wanting to take Shoto, given that they'd undoubtedly do so in order to get to me."

Gesturing to Endeavor and Mirko, Kamui Woods explained, "Obviously you two aren't aware of how the Yaoyorozu family is bar none the wealthiest family in Japan by several degrees. It's clear as day that the villains kidnapped the girl because they plan to hold her for a very sizable ransom."

Gang Orca perked up a bit. "Ah yes. I actually know about that as Mr. Yaoyorozu is actually one of my fans, having me over for meals with him and his wife, and even asking me to send a request to have his daughter intern under me although I believe she went with Uwabami instead of her own volition. I'm going to be honest with you all, the villains are going to be VERY hard-pressed to come up with a ransom demand that Mr. Yaoyorozu can't afford. The villains could go so far as to demand one-trillion yen and Mr. Yaoyorozu could still very easily afford it."

"Whoa ho ho, talk about livin' the good life," Mirko remarked, "I can see why the villains would want to kidnap the girl now. They want a slice of her rich daddy's pie."

"And getting a payoff out of ransoming Young Yaoyorozu will undoubtedly give the villains considerable funding," All Might said, "Giving us all the more reason to get her back safely before the Yaoyorozu family is forced to pay." The heroes and police all gave cheers of agreement as they all pumped fists into the air, all of them ready to get going on rescuing the kidnapped Yaoyorozu.

...

Meanwhile, over at the League of Villains' bar hideout, Yaoyorozu was bound to a chair, quirk-suppressing cuff wraps on her forearms preventing her from being able to use her quirk. As Dabi was watching La Brava get a camera ready and Mr. Compress finish writing up a script, Yaoyorozu saw Toga and Nagant walk up to her. "Yeah, we're going to need you to cooperate with us," Nagant said, "Just sit tight and soon all of the bad stuff you're probably worried about will be over."

"What the hell do you villains want," Yaoyorozu asked, "You don't want me to join you guys and go villain, do you?"

Looking confused, Nagant said, "What? The hell are you on about, young lady? You think that you, a spoiled pampered rich girl who's never known the harsh reality outside in the real world, has what it takes to keep up with the work that we do? No, we kidnapped you just so that we can ransom you off for a considerable percentage of your daddy's pocketbook."

"You're basically nothing more than a paycheck to us," Toga said, her smile and shrugging both casual and with a hint of indifference.

Yaoyorozu scoffed in bemusement. "...Heh, figures it was money that you villains were after. I suppose what my classmates and I thought about you guys aiming to kidnap our classmate Todoroki was a bit misinformed, given the-"

"Like I said before," Dabi spoke up from where he was at, cutting Yaoyorozu off and getting her and Toga and Nagant to turn to face him. "I can see why you all would think I'd go after Endeavor's spawn," Dabi said, "After all, it'd be an effective method to strike at the pride of the flaming sack of crap himself. But my plans that I have for Endeavor, and trust me when I say that I have plans for Endeavor, will see things striking at him more directly. For now, I'm also kind of interested in building up a bit of a nest-egg, so you better look nice for when we make our ransom video we'll send in." Yaoyorozu scowled bitterly, not happy at all with her predicament.

Izuku, for some odd reason, fond himself in a dark landscape. He tried calling out, but found that he couldn't even do that. Feeling his face, Izuku saw to his worry that there was black smoke covering it, like some manner of smoky mask. The green haired boy began to panic, but he soon stopped when he heard a male voice that he wasn't familiar with call out to him.

"No need to panic, young man. You're in the Vestige World of One For All."

Izuku looked in the direction he heard the call come from. As such, he saw a man with long white hair, some of it covering part of his face. This man wore only a white long sleeved shirt and a dark colored pair of pants held up with a belt, although Izuku didn't see the belt because the shirt was long enough to cover it.

Standing next to this man was a mysterious woman; beautiful, with fair flawless skin aside from a small beauty mark on the lower area of her right cheek. She had long dark hair worn down aside from a bun on the back of her head, and she wore a dark sleeveless bodysuit, yellow gloves that reached her elbows, white boots that reached her knees, a belt that supported a smaller cape worn around her waist that reached her knees, and over her back she wore a normal cape that, funnily enough, also reached her knees.

The lightly dressed man gestured to Izuku. "So, you're the ninth huh? Fair enough. At least the eighth had gotten you young."

"And rather fitting that Toshi picked a boy who, same as him, had been born quirkless," the mysterious woman said, a hint of amusement on her face.

Izuku, who couldn't talk, was wondering what these two people before him were talking about. The woman especially so, given that she apparently know All Might while also saying that he like Izuku himself had been born quirkless. The green haired boy's mind was racing a mile a minute, and apparently the persons before him could see that, so the man got him to calm down.

"You bear on your shoulders a mighty legacy, young man," the mysterious man said, "One that I'm certain that the eighth has already filled you in on, at least a little bit."

"You got more power working for you than you can begin to guess," the mysterious woman went on, "Power that will stay with you until you yourself meet your own end. But you can't access a lot of that power just yet. You need to train yourself more, Izuku Midoriya. Train yourself to be able to use all that One For All has to offer you."

"You're going to be needing it," the mysterious man said, "For I feel that things will get tougher than anything any of us, even All For One himself, can foresee. But know this, young man; you won't be going this alone. We will be with you, aiding you as we can."

"...Assuming you're able to reach the point you can make use of our contributions to One For All, that is," the mysterious woman remarked, right before she and the mysterious man next to her faded into the smoke. Izuku tried screaming for them to come back; he had so many questions, and knew that he'd only have more as he talked to those mysterious people. But he felt himself be pulled further and further back.

...

When Izuku next opened his eyes, he found himself laying in a bed in a hospital. Surrounding him were his friends, Juzo, Yosetsu, and Nirengeki from his class, and Uraraka and Tokoyami from Class 1-A, with Tokoyami having Dark Shadow out. "Hey hey, Green Bean's awake finally!" cheered the sentient quirk as he and the students all looked elated to see Izuku's eyes open.

Izuku propped himself up until he was sitting up in bed. "...What happened?"

"...The training camp was attacked by villains, dude," Yosetsu said with a somber expression, "You were among the many gassed with knockout gas by some villain, taking you out along with me, Juzo, and Nirengeki as we hid prepared to scare that group of boys in 1-A in case they wandered by us during the Test of Courage."

"We later got it that all of Class 1-A and 1-B was taken out with the knockout gas by that one villain," Tokoyami went on, "Aside from Kendo, Tetsutetsu, Kamikiri, and Rin from your class as they were with the Pussycats at the time. Kendo fractured some bones in one of her hands but it was treated, and Kamikiri got stabbed in the side but is just fine now."

"Tiger..." Nirengeki said, "...Tiger of the Pussycats was killed, and both Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob were kidnapped by the villains, along with Yaoyorozu from Tokoyami and Uraraka's class. That Kota boy suffered some injuries including a mild concussion, but he's going to be fine."

Izuku was beyond shocked to hear what all had happened. One death and three kidnappings, not to mention how all but four of UA's first year hero course students were knocked out with knockout gas. The villains that threatened society really knew how to work things. Izuku and his peers in UA had to work harder than ever in their training if they were to overcome the threats that assailed them.

The mysterious people from his dream also said that he had to be ready. Izuku was going to share what he saw in said dream with All Might as soon as he could.

Looking to the others, Izuku asked, "What about Yaoyorozu, and Pixie-Bob and Ragdoll? Are they going to be rescued?"

"The pro heroes and police are already working on it, my dude," Juzo said, "And All Might himself is involved from what I got on the matter. Trust me when I say that the villains won't know what hit them." The rest of Izuku's friends all nodded in agreement, showing that they also all had faith in the pro heroes and police, in All Might, that Yaoyorozu and two of the Pussycats were going to be rescued.

The green haired boy nodded in agreement with all of his friends. Especially since All Might was involved in the rescue efforts; that alone guaranteed that the efforts of the pro heroes and police would go off without a hitch.

After some time traveling, the group of Mina, Jiro, Hagakure, Kurata, and Yamamaya made it to an area called Kamino Ward, due to following the lead that the tracking device necklace Jiro wore gave them. The girls also wore disguises; Mina was disguised as a street dancer, Jiro was disguised as a maid in long sleeved Victorian era maid outfit, Hagakure was actually naked save for a pair of cuff bangles (being invisible meant she could get away with going in the buff), Yamamaya was dressed up in a stereotypical classic granny outfit, and Kurata was actually cosplaying as a certain flower fairy from a certain anime about a digital world.

"Ah, Kamino Ward," Mina remarked, "Pearl of the Orient."

"Girls, we need to focus," Jiro said as the girls walked while following the tracking device necklace, "We can't afford to-"

The girls were cut off when they, as well as a bunch of citizens in that area, saw a live television feed on a giant screen showing Nezu, Aizawa, and Sekijiro giving a public apology. "On behalf of the whole of UA High School's staff," Nezu said, "I would like to apologize for our failures as of late. The attack on the USJ, the incident during the internships where one of our students was killed, the recent attack on the training camp. It's all on us for failing to fully foresee what all the villains are capable of pulling off."

"Nezu, Nezu," a reporter called out, "What all is going to be done to ensure the safety and well-being of UA's students moving forward?"

"We're taking strong measures to ensure the safety of our school's students," Aizawa spoke up, "UA will be strengthening its security and re-examining its crime prevention system."

"You're Eraserhead, right?" the same reporter asked, "Aren't you the teacher at UA responsible for the five students who were killed in the incident at the USJ, and the student who was slain by Stain the Hero Killer during the recent internships, AND for the Yaoyorozu family's daughter who is among those kidnapped from the training camp run by the Wild, Wild Pussycats? What can you, who has failed to protect students on multiple occasions so far, say to assure the public at large that troubles like this won't be happening again?"

Before Aizawa was able to give a response, Nezu quickly chimed in with, "We of UA assure you that we will always do what we can when we can to ensure that the students under our tutelage are safe as they study and train to become the next generation of Japan's pro heroes. And as for addressing the kidnapping of the daughter of the Yaoyorozu family, the pro heroes and police are already working on getting her back."

Down where they were in the crowd of civilians watching the live television feed, the 1-A girls saw that many of the citizens around them weren't entirely satisfied with what Nezu was saying. "...Wow, even Principal Nezu is getting raked over hot coals here," Mina remarked.

"At least the same's being done to Aizawa-sensei," Jiro said, a hint of vindictiveness towards the underground hero in her tone, "He couldn't even give a response for how Asui, Monoma, Sato, Koda, and Mineta were killed at the USJ, or for how Iida was killed during the internships, or how Yaoyorozu was kidnapped from the training camp. I never saw him get caught flatfooted like that, and it's oddly satisfying and oddly amusing to see."

"Serves him right for being such an unreasonable, unbearable hardass," Hagakure agreed.

Looking to Jiro, Kurata said, "Well anyway, we ought to get going. The sooner we rescue Yaoyorozu, the better."

"You're the one with the tracking device that can lead us right to Yaoyorozu, Jiro," Yamamaya remarked.

Pulling out the tracking device necklace from under her top, Jiro said, "Right." She then used it to see where she and the other girls had to go in order to find where the villains had taken Yaoyorozu off to, hoping that they'll be able to rescue their friend without any serious repercussions cropping up.

END, CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

Author's notes;

This chapter sees the remaining girls of 1-A aside from Uraraka set off on the Yaoyorozu rescue mission, regardless of how the pro heroes and police were also gearing up to do the exact same thing. They're also acting in utter defiance of Aizawa's authority, an authority that is seeing signs of losing some respect from some of the students under it. Meanwhile, Izuku has a dream where he goes to the Vestige World of One For All where he meets two past users of One For All, although he doesn't know that yet. There's also the villains prepping to make the ransom demand video they'll send in, and the girls now in Kamino Ward seeing Nezu, Aizawa, and even Sekijiro called to task.

The next chapter will see more chaos in Kamino unfurl, so stay tuned.
