Vlad King's Green Bean
Chapter eighteen: Kamino Ward Shuffle
Meanwhile, at the bar hideout that the League of Villains maintained, Dabi and his fellows, along with the bound and captive Yaoyorozu, were also watching the apology address that Nezu, Aizawa, and Sekijiro were giving. "I can see why the common people are in the mood to bust UA's chops right now," Dabi remarked, "Given that they had failed. But then again, UA did help lead to making society the unjust place that it is."
Spinner nodded in agreement, his arms folded over his chest. "All Might aside because Stain had confirmed him to be the exception, heroes nowadays care for nothing save for looking good and beefing up their pocketbooks."
"Isn't that second part your reason for kidnapping me?" Yaoyorozu spoke up, making the villains turn to face her.
"Don't think of us like the common fare of villains that heroes punch in the face and then put behind bars," Mr. Compress began to explain, "We actually fight to make society a just place, and us forcefully taking you, by the way I apologize for us having to do that, was a necessary piece to that puzzle."
"Speaking of puzzles," Toga spoke up, "Dabi, didn't you say that the big boss has just finished getting Felgrand ready for you?"
Nodding, Dabi said, "Yeah, and I'm wanting to see how he'll do in a fight. But the test drive will have to wait until a later time." Turning back to face Yaoyorozu, Dabi went on, "Getting some extra funding out of it aside, our taking of you has one other purpose."
Yaoyorozu arched a wry eyebrow. "Oh? And what would that be?"
"To send a message," Dabi replied, drawing a curious look out of Yaoyorozu, "To tell Japan at large that no one, regardless of stature or standing, will be safe from us. From low income persons living in cheap apartments to walking banks like you who live in high end mansions, from rookie pro heroes fresh on the scene to veterans the likes of even Endeavor. No one is out of the reach of, or is safe from, the League of Villains. Or at least the one here that I'm heading."
Given how many villains were surrounding her, not to mention the fact they were keeping her bound to the chair she was in, AND the fact that she still had those quirk suppressing cuff wraps on her forearms preventing her from being able to use her quirk, Yaoyorozu saw that she had virtually zero options of getting out of there on her own. Her only methods of escape were either for the League of Villains here to get the ransom they were going to demand for her at which point they'll willingly let her go, or to be rescued before that by some pro heroes. She was hoping for the second option there, as Yaoyorozu doesn't want the villains here to benefit due to how they were able to kidnap her.
The wealthy girl, for the first time finding herself ruing her wealth, was hoping for some heroes to come in and grab her.
Things were not looking good for Nezu, Aizawa, and Sekijiro at UA's public apology press conference which was being broadcast. Things got worse for them when, after Aizawa confirmed that he and Sekijiro didn't give permission to their students to use their quirks to fight back, one reporter asked if the students not being allowed to fight back had helped to lead to the result of Yaoyorozu getting kidnapped.
"Our investigation concluded that they students in the lodge were knocked out with knockout gas before they could try fighting back," Nezu admitted, "Even if they were given the okay to use their quirks to fight back to defend themselves or more preferably make an opening to run, we're not sure how much good it would have done since they wouldn't be able to act on it."
"And what about the four students who were reported to have fought alongside the Wild, Wild Pussycats?" a different reporter asked, "They fought using their quirks despite not technically having permission. Will they be punished for their un-permitted quirk usage?"
"They were in a situation that was literally life or death," Sekijiro pointed out, "Their un-permitted quirk usage has already been excused." Indeed, those four students in question were all students under Sekijiro, and he by no means would bust the chops of Itsuka, Togaru, Tetsutetsu, and Hiryu because they used their quirks, given that the four of them were attacked by villains in a situation that did pass as life or death.
...
Back at the League of Villain's bar hideout, Dabi and his brood were still watching UA's apology broadcast with the bound and captive Yaoyorozu sitting nearby. "Wow, I didn't know there was a barbecue going on," Dabi said, "Because those idiots from UA look like they're getting grilled."
"You guys are going to ultimately fail."
Dabi and the other villains all turned to look at Yaoyorozu when they heard her speak up. "The pro heroes and police will rescue me from you guys before you can force a ransom payment," Yaoyorozu said, "You all will be taken down, and then arrested and thrown into prison."
Mr. Compress gave an amused hum of a laugh. "The good guy's ideal picture of how things will occur. But sadly for you and those on your side, things will not be ending picture perfect for you."
"We even have a trump card ready to whip out in case any pro heroes," Dabi went on, "Even All Might himself, were to show up to try to rescue you from us before we can get a ransom payment out of holding you hostage."
Yaoyorozu glared at Dabi with a wry look. "The first League of Villains, the ones who attacked the USJ, had a supposed trump card that their boss boasted could kill even All Might, but it didn't do anything, not even twitch."
Gesturing to himself, Dabi said, "Yes, I got some details on the matter from Kurogiri who infiltrated the false League of Villains to take them down for trying to steal our group's name for themselves. We even got info on how Handyman made his trump card so we can... improve... on the formula and make use of it ourselves in order to help carry out our goals of finally making society a just place." Dabi gently shook his head. "But that's besides the point, especially considering the fact that Felgrand is not one of those nomu things."
"That name," Yaoyorozu said, "Felgrand. I take it that's the name of your supposed trump card?"
Shrugging, Dabi replied, "You'll just have to wait and see when I finally let him out to play. And trust me." A devious hint entered Dabi's expression as he smirked at the captive wealthy girl. "...You'll know it when Felgrand makes his debut." Yaoyorozu couldn't help but shudder, dreading what exactly Dabi meant by knowing it when this 'Felgrand' trump card will make his debut.
Nothing friendly, that's for sure.
Meanwhile, the disguised Mina, Hagakure, Jiro, Kurata, and Yamamaya made their way to a building that the tracking device necklace led them to. "So this is where they took Momo, huh?" Mina spoke up as she looked at the building she and the other girls were led to.
"...There's been no movement coming from the signal we followed here," Jiro remarked in a worried tone, "You don't think they found the necklace, left it here, then took Yaoyorozu somewhere else, do you?"
"I highly doubt that the villains would think to search Yaoyorozu for anything along the lines of a tracking device," Yamamaya pointed out, "And even if they did, they most likely wouldn't think much of the necklace given it looks like a cheap locket."
"Either way," Hagakure said, "The signal leading us here means that this place is connected to the villains who took Yaoyorozu. We're one step closer to getting her back from the villains!"
Looking up the wall surrounding the building they were lead to by the tracking device necklace, Kurata said, "We're gonna have to do something of a human pyramid to get enough height to look over the wall and into some windows. Ready, ladies?"
...
Elsewhere, the police force led by Naomasa, and a large team of pro heroes headed by All Might, were getting ready to raid the hideout that they know Yaoyorozu's being kept in. "We will be rescuing Young Yaoyorozu from the grasp of those heinous villains," All Might swore, "We will not allow them to get away with this blatant act of evil villainy!"
"We also got intel on another hideout that this second League of Villains is maintaining," Mandalay said, "We're also going to check that, see if we can't find my teammates Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob." Mandalay had already lost Tiger, and had very nearly lost Kota. By no means was Mandalay in any mood to see any more losses dealt to the Wild, Wild Pussycats if she could help it.
"We'll be launching multiple strikes, heroes," Naomasa said, "One team will focus on the location we believe Momo Yaoyorozu was taken to, and another will focus on the location Mandalay is talking about. We'll also need teams to focus on evacuating civilians as far away from both locations as possible in case the very likely scenario of things getting ugly comes to pass."
Edgeshot nodded in understanding. "Ryukyu and I have already been assigned to one of the teams focusing on evacuating civilians away from one of the hot spots. We'll be working on said evacuation team with Rock Lock and Fat Gum."
"They're dependable, stalwart heroes," All Might remarked, "You couldn't of asked for better teammates here, you two." As the other pro heroes and the police force got ready to ship out, Gran Torino got All Might's attention, making him follow behind him off to the side. "...You think All For One is finally making a move," All Might said in a hushed whisper to his old mentor.
Gran Torino gave a grim nod of confirmation to All Might's remark. "We've got to be prepared for the worst, you especially so. If that bastard does end up making an appearance here, you know what you have to do."
All Might clenched a fist. "Do what I did the last time I fought All For One, but this time make absolute sure it'll stick."
As All Might and Gran Torino conversed, Naomasa spoke up to get everyone's attention. "Alright everyone," Naomasa called out, "The key here to taking down these villains is to hit them hard and fast! Go at them non-stop without giving them any breathing room to retaliate! The apology broadcast that UA's doing is also something of a diversion to trick the villains into thinking we can't mount any sort of mission to rescue the Yaoyorozu's daughter! We'll be hitting them with the element of surprise here, folks!" The police and pro heroes all cheered as they proceeded to move out, ready to take the fight to the villains.
All Might was especially ready to face the villains on their home turf.
Back at the building that the 1-A girls were led to by the tracking device necklace Jiro had, the girls had formed something of a human pyramid so that they could peek over the wall. Jiro being the lightest overall was at the top, and although she was able to peak over the wall and saw a window, she wasn't able to see well enough to see what was inside the building; she did see some faint greenish glowing, however. "...Damn it," Jiro swore under her breath, "Where the hell is a pair of night-vision binoculars when you need them?"
After Jiro hopped down off of the other girls, Kurata looked up at her as she and the other girls got up, saying, "Did you at least see anything?"
"Some greenish glowing from within the building behind this wall," Jiro said, "But I couldn't see far enough to get any specifics."
Mina held a hand to her chin. "...I got an idea that'll appropriate some of the bad guy's actions from the day the wall around UA was breached and a bunch of news media guys swarmed onto UA grounds hoping to get a scoop about All Might working there now." Mina then used her quirk on a portion of the wall, coating it with her conjured acid to melt some of it away so that she and the other girls could get inside.
As Mina worked, the girls heard a drunken sounding voice said, "Hey, are you ladies lost or something?" The girls turned and saw two people, obviously drunk to the point they won't be too much trouble to trick into sending away without risk, come walking up to them.
Going over to the two drunks, Kurata while beaming a friendly and fun aura said to them, "Hey dudes, glad you're here! The ladies and I could use some extra pairs of hands here, so why don't you help out?"
"Sure thing, pal," the second drunk instantly agreed, with the first drunk nodding along to show agreement as well. After Mina had finished melting down enough of the wall, the five girls and two drunks walked on in. Kurata had the two drunks she had charmed somehow act as part of another human pyramid's bottom layer, which was a big help as it allowed the girls to reach and look into the window Jiro had previously seen while Kurata remained as a lookout.
Peering into the window, Jiro was able to see the greenish glowing more clearly, as well as what said glowing came from; tanks that large dark forms were being grown in. Again, Jiro wasn't able to make out full details, but she did have a gut feeling on what she was seeing. "...I'm seeing large, dark figures floating in giant vats of green glowing liquid," Jiro said, "I can't see the figures clearly, but I'm getting vibes they're similar to that large monstrous brute from the USJ."
"What's the signal from the tracking device necklace doing leading us here?" Mina asked, "You don't think the villains took Yaoyorozu here, do you?"
Yamamaya gently shook her head. "I think we were led to a different property that those villains own." Shuddering a bit, Yamamaya said, "And if what you said is true Jiro, then we got more on our plates than simply going in to rescue Yaoyorozu."
...
Back at the League of Villain's bar hideout, La Brava got the camera ready just as Dabi was finished going over the script that Mr. Compress had written up for the ransom demand video. "I think five-hundred billion yen would be something that Japan's richest man can dish out," Dabi said, "I could probably reach higher, but I want to be reasonable here."
"Sounds good," Rappa remarked, "And it would still give us plenty of funding for future investments."
With La Brava at the camera, she said, "And we're filming in five, four, three-"
*knock* *knock* *knock*
"Kamino Ward Pizza! We have your delivery!"
The villains all stopped short upon hearing someone knock on the front door, before calling out that they were pizza delivery there to deliver some pizza. "...Who the hell ordered pizza to be delivered here?" Nagant asked, dumbfounded by the turn of events.
"I don't know," Spinner replied, "But whoever did it, I hope they ordered a veggie pizza with mushrooms. That's my fav-"
"SMASH!"
Spinner was cut off when All Might suddenly smashed his way into the hideout, taking all of the villains by surprise. "Fuck, the heroes are here!" Dabi said, "Kurogiri, we need an escape!"
"Right!" Kurogiri said as he prepared to portal everyone out of there.
"Not so fast!" Kamui Woods shouted, using Lacquered Chain Prison to bind Kurogiri, keeping him from trying to make any portals.
Dabi scoffed in annoyance, then took aim at Kamui Woods to blast him with some fire to make him let go of Kurogiri. However, Gran Torino rushed in and struck Dabi upside the head, cutting him off and even stunning him a bit. "You villains won't be getting away here!" Gran Torino said, "This is where things will end for you!"
"The heroes must have used the apology broadcast that UA was doing as a diversion to get ready to take us by surprise!" Mr. Compress called out.
The door leading into the bar hideout was busted open, showing that Gang Orca was the one who put on the pizza delivery bit. "We pro heroes will no longer be resting on the laurels that the era of peace had lulled us into falling back on," Gang Orca declared, "You villains wanna play hardball? Fine, us pro heroes will be more than glad to play harderball right back at you!"
Looking around, All Might saw that all of the present villains had been subdued and bound. Smirking in amusement at the villains, All Might said, "We have you villains surrounded. There's more pro heroes as well as plenty of police surrounding the entirety of the perimeter of this little hideout of yours." Dabi glared annoyed at the Symbol of Peace, pissed that the heroes and their police allies were able to catch them like this.
Turning to look at Yaoyorozu, Gran Torino said, "Young lady, you're safe now. We'll get you out of here and right back to where you belong."
"...Umm," Yaoyorozu began after taking a quick glance at Gang Orca, "If any of this gets on the news, can Gang Orca be the one shown carrying me out of danger? I mean, my father's a big fan of his, so..."
"Ah ha ha ha!" Gang Orca laughed in amusement, "Glad to see I'm getting some priority here! It pays to have fans, it seems!"
Dabi was getting more and more pissed by the second. "Kurogiri, try warping some of the nomu we got after improving on the formula you gathered from infiltrating the wannabes who tried taking the League of Villains name from us!" Dabi ordered.
"I... I can't," the misty villain replied, surprising Dabi, "Whatever's going on, those nomus were taken out!"
...
Over at the League of Villain's warehouse, a large portion of it was smashed away (startling the five hidden 1-A girls and Kurata's charmed drunks in the process) when Mt. Lady stomped down against the side of the building while wearing a truck on her foot she stomped with. "That little girl who had helped to restore me really came in clutch!" Mt. Lady called out after she took down the wall and allowed her allies there to rush in to subdue the nomus. They were still in their growth vats, so smashing the vats and attacking the nomus was a cinch for the pro heroes attacking the warehouse.
While looking around, Mandalay came across Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob, both laying unconscious under sheets. "I found Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob!" Mandalay called out, "I need help gathering them and getting them out of here!"
Seeing that all of the nomu were suppressed ("Eww these things are gross," Mt. Lady said as she had one each clutched in her giant hands) and that Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob were both secured, Best Jeanist said through a communication device, "The warehouse is secure! Repeat, the warehouse is secure!"
...
Back at the bar hideout, All Might stood tall against the bound League of Villains. "You villains played your game and lost," All Might boasted, "You were fools to underestimate the heroes, and our friends in the police force! You were even fools to underestimate Young Yaoyorozu if you thought you could so easily cow her!" The Symbol of Peace took a bold step forward. "It's game over for you, villains."
"Kurogiri, warp us out of here now!" Dabi yelled.
The misty villain began trying to warp everyone out of there, but Gran Torino rushed him and knocked him out with a blow upside his head. "We'll be having none of that funny business here!" Gran Torino snarled.
"An excellent point, Gran Torino!" All Might declared, then turned back to face the League of Villains. "Just give it up, villains," All Might admonished, "You aren't going to be getting out of this one!"
"Oh. I beg to differ."
Suddenly, large masses of black liquid appeared out of nowhere, and loads of nomu began coming on through to attack the heroes. "What is this?!" All Might yelled, "I thought that the warping villains was knocked out!"
"He is!" Gran Torino yelled as he jumped up to kick a nomu in the head, "This obviously isn't his work!"
After punching a nomu away, All Might saw the same black liquid come forcefully out of Yaoyorozu's mouth and began to warp her away. All Might tried grabbing for her, but it was too late; the wealthy girl was warped away by the mysterious black liquid. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" All Might yelled in anguish over his failure to save Yaoyorozu from being taken away.
Outside the bar hideout, the police force and Endeavor were besieged by loads of nomu. "Call the warehouse team!" Naomasa screamed, "We need serious backup here to deal with these bastards!"
"We did call them!" one police officer called out, "They aren't replying!"
Back inside the bar, seeing all of the nomu acting to repel the heroes made Dabi realize something. An amused smirk appeared on his lips as he said, "Well now, it looks like the rest of the League and I owe the big boss man a great deal of thanks."
Back over at the nomu warehouse, Mt. Lady, Best Jeanist, Mandalay, and the rest of their hero group had apprehended the nomus and got the unconscious Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob out of there. "Girls, can you hear me?" Mandalay said as she tried rousing Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob, "Girls! I need you two to both wake up now!"
Outside of the warehouse where they hid with the drunks that Kurata charmed, the 1-A girls saw that the heroes had everything handled here. "...I say we get going," Kurata said to everyone, "The pros here have things handled, so we ought to just sneak out of here before we're actually caught."
The other girls, although they were still worried about Yaoyorozu, agreed that they were risking too much trouble and prepared to leave. However, all of the girls were suddenly overcome with fear as a harsh aura of malevolence suddenly radiated from the warehouse behind them. Luckily for them, it was heading away from where they were paralyzed with fright, meaning it was heading towards the heroes.
Over where the heroes had the nomus subdued and Pixie-Bob and Ragdoll rescued, the heroes saw a well-dressed figure begin to emerge from the shadows. "Apologies, Mandalay," the mysterious figure said, "But your allies Ragdoll and Pixie-Bob won't be waking up for quite some time. You see, I had taken their quirks from them, leaving them both quirkless."
"That's a lie!" Mandalay shouted, "There's no way you took their quirks!"
"Oh, but I did," the mysterious figure went on, "And I even kept Ragdoll's Search for myself. It's such a charming, useful quirk, I just had to have it. As for Pixie-Bob's Earth Flow, however, I gave it to the bodyguard that I had prepared for my dear Dabi. He is my successor after all, so he'll be needing powerful protection. Although I do confess a curiosity as to how Mt. Lady has her quirk back, given that I distinctly remember taking it from her to give to Dabi's bodyguard."
Mt. Lady grimaced bitterly at the mysterious person before her and the other heroes. "None of your damn business, villain," Mt. Lady snarled.
The mysterious person began moving forward, but before he could have gotten far, Best Jeanist used his quirk to bind the clear villain with fibers. "Everyone, we can't let so clearly dangerous a villain do anything!" Best Jeanist yelled, "We need to restrain him and take him down now!"
Despite how he was bound, the mysterious villain actually sighed, as if Best Jeanist's efforts were nothing more than an annoyance. Suddenly, before the heroes could act, a massive burst of power blasted at them, destroying everything in the surrounding area and leveling most of the area into a barren field of ruin. The mysterious villain, now free from Best Jeanist's binding, dusted himself off.
"My successor," the mysterious villain said, "My dear Dabi, is fast approaching the point where he'll become a Symbol of Terror that will outshine even me. I can't be having you heroes get in Dabi's way, especially as he's so close to making a true name for himself." Stepping fully out of the shadows, the mysterious villain showed himself in his entirety, revealing that he also wore a large dark metal helmet of some kind with tubes in it.
"It would seem I have to help clear the way for my dear Dabi and his League myself."
END, CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
Author's notes;
This chapter covers more of the efforts to rescue Yaoyorozu from Dabi and his League, with the pro heroes and police launching multiple raids to take out both the League and their nomu warehouse.
