A/N: Yes, it's been months. I don't have really any excuses at this point. That being said, I cannot promise I will be back to update as often, for those who follow me on FF I'm currently writing a fanfic for Helluva Boss and that's one I'm more invested at the moment. Still, I found some ground to keep writing S&S due the confirmation that Season 3 will be the last season of the show, that was a real punch to the gut to be honest. I'm completely sure there's no way to have an acceptable resume of this series with so much still going on, not to mention I wasn't really onboard with what happened in the last episode of Season 2.

That being said I decided to stop waiting and took a peek at the manga to see if there's something there I can lead on, but nope. I found absolutely nothing, which is why I spent a lot of time rewriting the amount I have done without publishing. I was debating for weeks if it was worth the trouble, but here it is and now I'm really not caring for whatever is canon out there. This fic will go with some major foundations here and there, but a lot will change, cause I really cannot agree with stuff that happened in the manga either. Thank you all that are still around following this crazy adventure and that suffered this long wait. As said previously I'm not updating as before, but I will keep writing this, now more assured as to where this story will go. So I can, hopefully, find a deserving ending to it.

"So... looks like a good day w-

"SHUT UP!"

"Ellen! You're gonna get the staff on our tails! Calm down a bit."

"I will, after this MORON listens to some words I have to say!"

"Gez, the hell did you do this time Durham? I've seen Ellen upset a couple times, but not this much."

"Say, why are we here anyway? Shiira and I were planning to go to the plaza."

"No one asked you two to be here."

"What?! But I got a call from Legosi..."

"Errr... I called you because... well, I wasn't sure I could walk away without Ellen doing something bad to Durham."

Els snickered, but quickly shut once Ellen glared at her sideways. It has been only few minutes since, for whatever strange reason, Legosi decided it would be a good idea for all of them to gather back at the canine's dorm. Miguno, being the only other canine left after Collot and Voss had already departed to their respective houses, could only stare as other students started getting inside as time went by.

Ellen, being furious as she was, sat on the opposite side of the room, glaring at the coyote rather intensely. Durham, knowing he was in big trouble, remained silent ever since returning from parking the car, wherever it might be. Legosi was trying to mediate the situation by simply standing in between both of them, yet it was clear that he was far out of his depth in this kind of situation. The wolf desperately called for backup, to which Els and Jack were quick to respond.

Jack, looking confused and a bit frustrated, looked at Legosi with a questioning look.

"Whatever you mean with 'bad'? I know sometimes things can get tense between them, but it's not unusual to-

"Durham almost ran us over with a damn car!" Ellen cut him off, her hands tightening as to repress another outburst. Jack stood perplexed, unsure if he heard that clearly. Els also looked astonished at the reveal, followed by Miguno's expression of disbelief.

"What? Durham? How did he even get into a car to start with?" The Hyena asked, looking a bit skeptical. Ellen huffed angrily before replying.

"That's what I want to know, but I suspect it has something to do with his new job! Although I wouldn't expect Fujiwara to be this irresponsible as to give him an actual car!"

Durham groaned in annoyance. Sure, the coyote knew he screwed up big time with his driving, but that didn't mean he would just let his boss get in trouble so easily. His eyes glanced back and forth towards each student present. He was astonished that Els and Ellen looked completely at ease with the fact they were inside a Carnivore male dorm, although Ellen seemed just too angry to care anyway. His eyes found Miguno, who was looking back at him with nothing but confusion. Legosi was torn between making sure Ellen wouldn't jump at Durham's neck and glaring back at the coyote.

"Huh, maybe we should not get involved, to be fair?" Jack said unsure. "This seems is more of an issue between Ellen and Durham anyway." Els nodded in agreement.

"Well, I think so too. I get you called us for safety reasons Legosi, but this isn't really our problem."

"Thanks?" Durham said, puzzled that the others were being rather evasive when they tend to stick their noses around more often than not. "I... kinda wish to talk with Ellen privately, so..."

The coyote looked at the others with a rather pleading look. Jack sighed before walking outside with Els following behind. Legosi hesitated, looking very conflicted before accepting that there was no excuse to keep bothering the two, he cast a quick glance at Miguno. The Hyena took the hint and quickly put on his shoes before following the wolf towards the exit, the very sight of it reminded Durham of something crucial.

"Oh, yeah. I forgot." He said with a nervous chuckle. "Shoes off, for... well, reasons."

Ellen raised an eyebrow, giving him a very flat look before doing such in silent acquiescence. She dropped her shoes unceremoniously near his set back at the entrance. Durham felt very uneasy, knowing she was ultra mad at him, and the silence that followed was far worse than her usual yells.

"Ellen... I fucked up, big time. I... I'm sorry!" The coyote started, unsure if she would even be satisfied with that excuse, but knowing he needed to get to that point right away. "I shouldn't have brought the car in so soon. I really wasn't ready for how... responsive it is."

"Why though?" She asked, although her tone was telling that she had calmed down a bit. Perhaps Durham apologizing had some effect despite the tense situation. "Of all times for you to do something stupid like this, can't believe Fujiwara let you drive that thing here!" She grasped the edges of her skirt, looking conflicted as she looked at his ashamed expression. "Honestly I wanted to hate your guts, but... I can't. I'm upset! But... I like you too much to really be mad." The coyote couldn't help a nervous chuckle.

"Oh, I don't know about that, you looked ready to tear my head off back then." He joked, to which Ellen snorted, although with a shy smile on her face.

"Yeah, it can happen at times. Also I think I overreacted because Legosi also gave me quite a scare when he grabbed me to get me away from the stupid car." She frowned. "I... really should thank him, but... all I could feel at that moment was... terror, panic and... something really awful."

Durham didn't reply. He knew exactly at what she was pointing out. That undeniably fear of being subjugated by a huge Carnivore, it wasn't something she could ignore, even when about to be ran over by a car apparently. It was very telling of how much Ellen feared such event.

"Legosi was protecting you, which I'm glad he did." Durham said with a shaky breath. "Of all Carnivores, besides me of course, you can count on him to keep you safe." Ellen gave him an unimpressed glance. Obviously the car stunt didn't give him much credit. "He's that type of guy that's just too soft for his own sake." Ellen raised an skeptical eyebrow.

"He didn't look very soft while throwing punches at Bill or Louis. Nor the fact he went into the Shishigumi and came back with that bunny. I don't think he went there and just asked her back nicely." She pointed out with disdain. Durham opened his mouth to retort, but he wasn't really sure how to explain those incidents. Ellen shook her head. "It doesn't matter anymore. I... say, before we get to discuss even further, I... was wondering..."

Again the zebra was displaying that anxious behavior that Durham quickly learned to identify. He raised from his bed, hesitantly making his way to her side, unsure if she would allow him to approach her so soon. When Ellen didn't make any signs of objection the coyote assumed it was safe to get near. He hesitantly brought his hand up to her neck, slowly moving his fingers up and down on a caressing gesture, to which the zebra seemed to appreciate.

"What's on your mind?" He asked softly as possible. He was still feeling awful by the early incident and wished nothing more to make up to her somehow. Ellen leaned into his hand before replying.

"I... well, tomorrow is your birthday." She started slowly. Durham nodded encouragingly. "So... I... wanted to give you your... errr... present."

"Oh?" He reacted slowly, surprised by her intentions. "And what is it?"

Durham wasn't expecting anything really, he was just happy he could share the day with her tomorrow, but his mind went completely blank when, out of nowhere, she grabbed his hand and placed it directly over her own chest. A coy smile made into her face as she stared down at him hungrily.

"It is right here." Her voice sounding very soft and cunning. "Feel free to open whenever you want."

Durham felt his jaw hang completely open, his eyes widening in shock as he glanced back at the zebra is disbelief.

"E-Ellen?! I... are you sure? I mean, we didn't, like... there's so many things that coul-

"I know." She cut him off quickly. "We don't really have to get that far, but... I think we can get more at ease." Despite her clear intent she couldn't help the flush showing on her cheeks. "I trust you to handle me better than a car, that's for sure."

"Oh, damn. That's low," He said with a nervous grin. His eyes traveling from top to bottom at her taller figure in wonder. "I guess... we could. Errr, do you want to do this now? I cannot tell when the others might come back."

Ellen stared pensively for a moment before looking up to the bunkers.

"Which one is your bed?"

"Where have you been? I was waiting for you at the cafeteria for fifteen minutes."

"Sorry! It's just that Legosi called me to help him out with something going on with Ellen and Durham."

"Urgh, what happened this time? Did Durham dropped ink on her fur? That would really piss her off."

"Errr, no. More like... he almost hit her with a car, from what I could understand."

"...say what?!"

"S-She's fine! No harm was done, but Ellen was kinda keen on killing him and Legosi was struggling to make sure that wouldn't happen!"

"You bet your furry tail she was! I myself would wring his neck with my own tail until he was d-

Shiira stopped once she realized the apprehensive look on Jack's face. A tired sigh came out from her, aware that she can look excessively threatening at times. She shook her head, keen on disregarding the event as it's pointless to get worked up on it for too long.

"Nevermind, I'm sure Ellen will put him straight on his place. She can take care of it." The cheetah looked at Jack with a more amiable expression. "So, what were you saying about the summer vacation? We still didn't end that conversation."

"O-Oh, right! About that..." Jack started, surprised he had forgotten that talk so quickly. He looked back at the cheetah with an air of excitement. "Say, I wanted to ask if, well... do you want to spend this summer back at my home?"

Shiira stared, completely taken aback by the offer. It has been just few days that they have been a thing, but to hear the rather innocent labrador making such proposal threw her on a loop. Jack, noticing the gobsmacked expression on her face, quickly went on to reason about the offer.

"I-I mean, it's not really a big deal. I, well, didn't want you to spend your time alone here again. Els kinda told me you don't really go anywhere cause, you know." He said nervously, glancing at her occasionally as if worried she would get mad. "I wouldn't really go if I could, but I miss my family, and... I guess they would be more than happy to meet you." He added with a timid smile. Shiira couldn't help the snort of incredulity escaping from her lips.

"Heh, you're something else Jack." She said with a touch of humor and exasperation. "I'm... not sure? I guess it would be nice to be outside school grounds after so long. I really haven't got a chance to see anything else other than the town." She contemplated the idea with mixed feelings. "I just don't want to give your parents a wrong impression. Wouldn't this be too sudden of a thing to do?"

"What?" Jack asked, seemingly confused at what the cheetah was implying. She raised an eyebrow, disdain etched across her face as she narrowed her look down at him. "Oh. That. Right. N-No, I don't think they would think poorly of it, mom actually is looking forward to known you. She, heh, was super excited when I told her we're dating."

"Couldn't keep it for yourself for few days, could you?" Shiira teased with a knowing smirk. Jack laughed, embarrassed for his lack of self-control. "Fine, I can agree to that, as long I don't have to be stuck with your parents for too long."

"Oh, that won't be an issue." The labrador assured before his smile dimmed a bit. "Just be wary of my brothers and sisters, they can be reallly, errr... invasive at times."

"Huh?" Shiira eyed him, surprised at this new information. "You have siblings?"

"O-Oh, yeah. A-A few." He replied with another burst of nervousness. Shiira eyed his reaction with suspicion but said nothing else on the matter.

"Right, I will get my things ready, I won't take long. We will be leaving on Monday?"

"Yeah, that's the plan. We can catch the first train to Dindelium Valley at morning." He replied, recovering his cheerfulness very quick. "I'm already set, just waiting for the Festival tomorrow actually. I can't wait to see you there."

"Oh, right." Shiira said, realizing the labrador actually been looking forward to see her dance on stage.

She felt a tinge of heat on her cheeks. It was unusual for her to have someone so intrigued about her performances. Normally, just like Ellen, they would always fall behind Louis majestic shadow. Without the deer around she wasn't sure what to expect from the crowd's reaction tomorrow. Still, Juno was set to take the leading role, which the cheetah was a bit disappointed to find out. Shiira had nothing against Juno, but it was rather upsetting that the wolf would be taking ahead of feline despite being a newcomer while Shiira had been there since she arrived at this school. Any other day she would've questioned Sanu on his decisions but, with Jack clouding her thoughts most of the time, she let this injury pass by without complaint.

"Say, are you okay with the dance tomorrow?" Jack asked, surprising her for a moment. She blinked while looking at him, puzzle at what he meant. "You know, Juno being the lead dancer and all. I know you probably expect to be on the role instead, you are the senior dancer after all."

"I cannot really say I agree." Shiira started, internally stunned that Jack read her out on that matter so easily. "Yes, Juno has really put a lot of effort on her own performances. I just..." Shiira felt the frown on her face growing the more she talked about it. "... I'm not mad at her, but Sanu. He knows how much this club means to me, I do always my best ever since I joined. The least he could do is ask me if I would be okay with it."

"Oh, sorry about it." Jack said, unsure of how to react to her disappointment. The cheetah shook her head.

"It doesn't matter, it is what it is. Juno will do fine, at least I can rest assured she cares as much about making the club proud. Besides, she's the one that most of the school has their attention on for now. I rather not have people stalking me around because of popularity." Shiira couldn't help the smirk on her face at that outcome. "I really don't do well with crowds anyway."

"Huh, you... don't?" Jack asked uncertainly. She merely nodded, before looking back at the labrador and noticing the look of concern on his face.

"What's wrong?"

"Eh, well. It's just...heh, it's a funny story, you wou-

"Spill it, Jack."

"Oh, huh, you know that I'm a type of dog."

"Really? That's a new one."

"Hehe, errr, some dogs tend to be very, huuuuuuhhh. Active?"

Shiira stared at him with a flat look before it clicked at what Jack was trying to get at.

"You mean they have lots of s-

"YES, that's exactly it!" He shouted rather desperately. Shiira snorted loudly at his reaction. Jack was just too adorable at times for her to resist. "Well, as a result. Huh, we do end up having..."

"Too many kids." Shiira guessed without looking slightly surprised. "Who would've thought." But then her eyes widened once she realized at what was being subtly implied. "H-how many siblings do you have?..."

"Err... about... just... twenty four."

"WHAT?!"

"O-Oh, h-hey, Juno."

"...Legosi."

"Hum... are you okay?"

"Yes, I am."

"Oh, good... that's... good."

"..."

"Sooo, hummm, do you have any plans for tomorrow?"

"I do. Why?"

"Well, I kinda was wondering if-

"Shut up you idiot!"

Legosi's head jerked up in surprise, eyes widening as he watched the wolfness approach him with a furious pace, eyes narrowed and a snarl on her face that he never saw before. She came to a stop only few inches from his face.

"What makes you think I will go out with you anywhere!? After all this time! After all you've done to ignore me and all these few times we talked! You made it clear we're just friends! So, guess what!? We will be and nothing more, EVER! How dare you to come here and think you can sway me with an invitation! I already have someone! I don't need you!"

Legosi stood speechless, somewhat stunned as Juno's ragging breath smacked him on the face. It took him few very awkward seconds to understand what she's trying to get at. Once it clicked he couldn't help but wince and feel extremely exasperated.

"N-No, actually... I was going to ask if you could talk with Shiira tomorrow. I was a bit worried that she might be feeling let down because Sanu choose you to take lead on the dance and he really didn't consult anyone beforehand."

Juno blinked, confusion masking her previous anger as her mind struggled to make sense of what she's been told. Once a pattern was found the wolfness couldn't help the intense blush of embarrassment on her checks.

"O-oh... that. I... that's really, errr, nice you to think of, actually." Juno felt really unease all of sudden. "I... really didn't like Sanu did that, Shiira is way more deserving of that role than I am. I just didn't say anything cause I really didn't want to cause trouble, but I wanted to talk about it with her regardless, it's only fair."

"Oh, yeah, I suppose." Legosi replied, feeling slightly awkward about the situation. "Say, did you... heard anything about Louis?"

Juno frowned. The topic of Louis was always an upsetting one, more than she cared to admit. She was one of the last to see him before he went missing, why it happened it is still a mystery.

"No, no one has. Police is looking everywhere from what I've been told. Things are feeling a bit... heavy at the club. The others, well, most Herbivores are not really looking at us any better than before. I feel like there's animosity building in between us, while before it was just wariness." She sighed, looking despondent at the turn of events. "I just hope this doesn't create more problems, it is bad enough and we should do our best to get along."

Legosi nodded slowly, understanding her view on the matter and in full agreement. Juno shrugged after a moment of silence.

"Even so, Ellen, Els, these two are sticking to our side despite how awful we look right now. I... really don't understand how or why. Well, in Els case I'm not sure, but Ellen is quite obvious she won't care what's said about Carnivores at the moment, not while she's with Durham. Say, how are they doing by the way?" She asked, looking a bit more chipper.

"Huuuuhhh, t-they are fine, yeah, fine." Legosi replied nervously. The wolfness blinked at the male's reaction. He smiled sheepishly. "They, huh, were at my dorm when I last saw them. Durham wanted... to talk with her privately."

"Oh." Juno's eyes widened considerably. "You don't think they are... well, doing things while there, do you?"

Legosi, considering what saw the last time he saw the two, couldn't help the snort.

"Ahn, no. I don't think so. Just... probably talking about their summer. Say, where are you going?" Legosi couldn't help but ask. "Back home on the mountain side?"

"Actually, I was thinking on spending this summer on the country side, I got a change of plans for these last few days." Juno cheered up tremendously, looking very eager about leaving the school grounds for once. "Won't tell you yet, I might if you call me during summer though. What about you? Where will you be going?" She asked, looking at him with genuine interest. Legosi pondered his reply for a moment.

"I... got a parent in town, not really too far from here. I will stay with them, perhaps... I should think on looking for a job. Durham's idea has its merits to be honest." He replied thoughtfully. Juno nodded, for once she felt that things between her and Legosi wouldn't feel as awkward as before, being friends would bear some fruits on the long run. "See you at the Festival tomorrow?"

"Oh, no doubt, we need you working on the lights after all. Will you do alright?" She asked. "Kai won't be here for the event after all. His parents are picking him up on the afternoon."

"Yes, I'm aware. I kinda convinced Durham to lend me a hand. Won't be a problem." The wolf replied, at ease with the sudden change. "Say... you mentioned you found someone? Who is that?" He couldn't help but ask. Juno giggled before turning around to walk down the staircase. They both were on they way to the plaza before Legosi found her on the way down.

"Now, that you will know shortly. Don't worry. I'm sure they can fill up just fine." She said with a mischievous glint on her eyes before moving out of view. Legosi blinked for a moment, unsure what she meant.

"Huh, ok? See you later then..." He replied confused, descending the stairs shortly after. "Wait... fil... J-Juno!"
