Chapter 4: Tourist TrappEd

Here we can see a propane truck in the middle of the street which has accidentally overturned after crashing into another car, with the truck driver still stuck inside!

"Help! Please, help me!" the truck driver cried as he desperately tried in vain to smash the truck's door open, despite the crashed car blocking it.

People were gathering around the scene watching. "The door is stuck! He can't get out!" one of the bystanders frantically exclaimed upon seeing the situation. The emergency services had been called, but they were getting late and to make things worse, fire had started to come out of the car's motor due to the damage done by the impact. It seemed unlikely any rescue could be made in time before the fire got to the truck.

"If fire gets to the propane gas, that guy's going to Mars!" another bystander exclaimed as he pointed at the growing flames. The people around started to run away as to not get caught in the coming explosion, however one person stopped as he looked at the sky and saw something flying their way. "Hey! What's that?!" he asked as he pointed at the sky.

"Is that a bird?" one person asked.

"Nah, looks like a plane" another one corrected.

"It's a bug!" a woman exclaimed.

Effectively, a giant dragonfly-like insect was flying down towards where the truck had crash. Upon landing, he tried to go for the door and open it, but the flames were too big to come close. "This stinks! I knew I should have picked Heatblast!" the insect, Stinkfly, said to himself.

Double D had told him XLR8 was the better choice to get here as fast as possible upon seeing the news report of the incident, however the watch had other plans as it had transformed him into Stinkfly when he tried to select XLR8 and he had to quickly fly all the way from the Cul-da-sac.

Suddenly, an idea struck the bug-like alien's mind. "Hey, I got it!" Stinkfly said as he flew up and started spewing goop out of his eyes and over the fire, effectively putting it out. He then flew to the truck's roof and used his sting to rip a hole in it to get the driver out, however the driver was more scared of the giant bug monster that had ripped over the truck's roof and desperately tried to hide inside.

"Help coming, pal!" the slimy spewing alien told the scared man as he lifted him up and flew him out of the truck and to the street just as the police arrived.

"Officers! That bug is trying to eat that innocent man!" the woman that had seen Stinkfly before exclaimed.

"What? That's not true! I just saved this guy's life!" Stinkfly responded as he landed with the driver in hands.

"It can talk!" another bystander exclaimed upon hearing him.

"Freeze!" one of the cops exclaimed as they pointed their guns at him. "Put your hands, uh… and your wings up, bug!"

"Well, look at the time! Gotta fly!" Stinkfly exclaimed as he suddenly flew up and out of there, leaving the confused and astonished cops behind as he tried to hide from sight. "Almost there!" Stinkfly said as he flew towards a nearby alley he had seen, perfect to hide until his transformation ended, however just on cue the hourglass symbol on his forehead started beeping and flashing the red light. "Oh, not again!" he exclaimed as the red light engulfed him just as he was flying down, reverting him back to Eddy, who proceeded to fall down while screaming.

Luckily, he had flown down enough as not to fell from a great height. Not so luckily, he fell straight into an open dumpster at the alley. "Ugh… I hate it when that happens…" Eddy muttered as he reared his head out of the dumpster, covered in trash and with a banana peel on top as a hat.

Later on:

Here we can see Eddy getting out of the shower after taking a bath following the previous events. He's wearing a yellow bathrobe and a towel wrapped over his head. "Oh yeah, baby, nothing like a shower after falling face first into a dumpster…" Eddy complained as he used the towel to dry his hair. His two friends, Ed and Double D are waiting for him at his room, the latter is sat at Eddy's bed reading a book while the former is looking through Eddy's stuff, most notably in awe with his lava lamp.

It has been well over a month since Eddy got the watch and started to fight crime, with Peach Creek's crime rate quickly decreasing as a result and the trio moving to also stop crime in nearby cities such as Lemon Brook, Orange Harbor and Pomelo Beach as a result, though those places also didn't have much crime to begin with. In fact, other than the odd rescue or stopping the occasional thief, they hadn't got much action.

One would think the lack of criminal activities would be a good thing, and they would be in fact right, however things were starting to get pretty stale for our hero, as he hadn't come across any real challenge since they stopped Jonah from poaching the Krakken's eggs, the mighty beast seemingly returning to slumber after recovering its eggs and hadn't reared its head out of the water ever since. Thankfully, the population hadn't bothered it either as its sightings had stopped and were simply disregarded as false or attributed to one of the many other weird creatures that continued to appear over town.

"Hey Lumpy! What did I tell you about touching my stuff?" Eddy told Ed upon seeing the mess he was making out of his room.

"That I had to tap my feet first, Eddy" Ed responded as Eddy took the lamp out of his hands.

"Man, what a drag!" Eddy exclaimed as he jumped onto the bed after leaving the lava lamp where Ed had previously taken it.

"Is something wrong, Eddy?" Double D asked, still on the bed as he put his book down.

"We've been doing this hero gig for like a month now and it's already getting stale! We haven't got any real action since the whole Krakken thing! Rescuing folks and beating thugs is good and all, but what happened to the good old days of fighting robots and mutant animals?" Eddy questioned.

"Pardon me Eddy, but I did not enjoy that time. I nearly fell off a skyscraper to my doom, in case you don't remember" Double D reminded.

"Oh, but that's when I got… Nestor Jr!" Ed exclaimed as he opened is jacket to reveal the former mutant cockatiel, Nestor Jr, which was actually nesting in his pocket. Upon revealing, Nestor Jr flew off Ed's pocket and perched on Eddy's nightstand, scaring Double D who immediately curled up and used a pillow as a shield to distance from the bird even further.

"Ed! What did I tell you about bringing that thing to my room?" Eddy questioned annoyed.

"Did you forget how uncomfortable I am around it?!" Double D shuddered behind the pillow, clearly still not over the trauma of nearly being killed by the former mutant bird.

"But guys, he did clean his wings this time!" Ed said innocently. Nestor Jr chirped as if mimicking what Ed was saying.

"Whatever…" Eddy simply said as he leaned back on the bed, unable to be bothered.

"Well Eddy, I guess we could celebrate another successful rescue, as well as the good job you've been doing as of lately, by taking a break from our patrolling duties for the rest of the day" Double D suggested, trying desperately not to look at Nestor Jr.

"A break? That's a great idea!" Eddy exclaimed as he jumped out of the bed, excited at the prospect of having some fun. "Okay, here's the plan, boys…" he said, but paused immediately afterwards.

"What?" Ed asked, confused with Eddy's silence. Nestor Jr chirped as if also asking.

"Give it time! I'm trying to think here…" Eddy demanded as he tried to come up with something to do. Usually, they would try to scam the kids out of their money, however since they had quit that to play hero, now they didn't get much to do in their free time. "Umm… I guess… we could…" Eddy tried to think of something but couldn't quite come with anything.

"Oh! Oh! Let's go to the Monster Movie Mash-!" Ed began jumping back and forth, starling Nestor Jr, who was perched on his head and flew away, but was cut off by Eddy jumping onto him and putting a hand on his mouth.

"Shut it, Ed! I'm doing the thinking here!" Eddy told him.

"Actually gentlemen, if I can call you that, I may suggest something we could all enjoy…" Double D informed. "I've heard of this county-style fair that travels across the country and just so happens to stay near our town for a few weeks."

"A fair? That's-! That's…" Eddy was going to mock this idea, but he couldn't come up with anything better himself. Seems like stopping scamming is affecting his creativity. "Ugh… that's fine, I guess…" he gave in. "Let's get Stinkfly to fly us there, or maybe XLR8 could take us faster?" Eddy wondered as he pressed the watch's dial and started swapping between the aliens' silhouettes.

"Eddy, wait! There's no need for that, the fair is only at the city's outskirts!" Double D stopped him. "We can just drive in on the Garbage Speeder and we'll keep a low profile" he explained.

"Ice cream bars!" Ed randomly shouted. "Let's get some pistache for Nestor Jr!" he pointed at Nestor Jr perched on Eddy's bed, next to Double D, who upon seeing him freaked out and jumped out of the bed, falling to the floor.

"Ed, can Nestor Jr sit this one out… please?" Double D pleaded as he crawled under the bed to get away from the bird.

Later at Peach Creek's outskirts:

After convincing Ed to leave Nestor Jr at home due to majority of votes, the Eds used the Garbage Speeder to get at the county fair's entrance. The place is abundant in objects one would find in a theme park or a carnival, including amusement stands, tents and many other attractions such as a giant jackalope statue, an "American Gothic" painting cutout, a planetarium, a giant house of cards, a restaurant with a giant hot-dog stand over it and the world's largest fishbowl. There's a sign at the entrance which reads 'Welcome to Sparksvile'.

"Sparksvile? What kind of name is that?" Eddy questioned upon reading the sign.

"This place seems quite interesting…" Double D observed as he took a glance around.

"Watch guys!" Ed exclaimed as he pointed at a half-eaten corn dog on the ground. "LUNCH!" he shouted as he proceeded to grab the corn dog before devouring it.

"ED! That's disgusting!" Double D exclaimed sickened.

"Glutton…" Eddy muttered as he watched Ed munch. Just then, they were approached by a man coming out from the entrance. He has pale skin, brown hair and peach fuzz on his chin, and wears a grey blue suit and pants with a white dress shirt and a white belt. He also has a black handkerchief and wears a string bowtie.

"As the mayor of Sparksville I welcome you, thrill seekers" the man said in a monotone and less than enthusiastic tone.

"Hello Mr. Mayor, my name is Eddward with two Ds and these are my friends, Eddy…" Double D introduced as he used one of his hands to point at Eddy, who merely looked at the Mayor while raising an eyebrow, curious at the man's obvious lack of emotion. "And Ed…" Double D moved his hand towards his other friend, who was using the remainings of the corn dog's stick as a toothpick.

"Can I get another corn dog?" Ed asked.

"Lovely…" the Mayor muttered unenthusiastically. "Please, come in and see the many wonders we have…" he said in the same monotonous tone as he pointed his hand towards the fair. "…we have more corn dogs as well" he added when he saw Ed looking at him.

"Yay!" Ed exclaimed with joy and proceeded to run inside, followed by his two companions. Once they got around the fair, they found there were no visitors other than them, much to their amusement.

"Uh, I guess we are the first to come?" Eddy asked the Mayor who was coming behind them.

"The first visitors of today…" the Mayor responded.

"Right…" Eddy said. "Well, let's check what's the buzz about this place" he commented as he started to walk around.

"Woof woof!" Ed barked like a 'corn' dog as he followed.

"I swear they're better than their manners, sir…" Double D awkwardly smiled as he followed his friends. The Mayor simply looked uninterested, not even rolling his eyes at this.

And so, with nothing better to do, the Eds decided to go around and start seeing the exhibits, starting with the planetarium at Double D's request, though they didn't see much other than an employee replacing the 'sunlight' bulb. Then they moved to take pictures of the jackalope statue, the giant house of cards and the world's largest fishbowl, with Double D taking a picture of Eddy and Ed at the cutout. Then they took a break to have lunch at the hotdog stand restaurant, with Eddy and Double D eating hotdogs while Ed ate as many corn dogs as he could, some even from the ground much to his friends' disgust.

Soon, they had seen most of the exhibits, with Eddy finding them unimpressive, Double D trying to be optimistic about them and Ed being his usual overenthusiastic self.

"Man, this place should be called 'Deadsville'!" Eddy complained as he sat at a bench next to Double D, Ed sitting on all fours next to them with a corn dog stick coming from his mouth. "It's like a ghost town having a ghost funeral in here!"

"Don't be rude Eddy, I think this place is rather… amusing" Double D tried to compliment.

"Please, I'd have more fun pulling out my own teeth!" Eddy exclaimed.

"Come on Eddy, try to look at the bright side! Maybe we can find some interesting souvenirs at the gift shop for our parents?" Double D said.

"Yeah… you do that while me and Ed go to the bathroom" Eddy said as he jumped out of the bench and grabbed Ed before running away.

"I like corn dogs, Eddy!" Ed exclaimed while being pulled by Eddy. They took a turn to the left before stopping.

"Come on Lumpy, there has to be something fun around here…" Eddy said as he desperately tried to look around for something, anything that could provide at least a tiny bit of entertainment.

They came to a stop when they found an arrow sign which read, 'It is this way'. They decided to follow it and came across a barn with a big sign that read 'It's here'. When they prepared to enter the building, they found a stand at the entrance with a small call bell on it. After pressing it, they were greeted by the familiar face of the Mayor from earlier.

"Tickets please" the Mayor, who was now wearing a grey cap hat with an American flag image on the front for some reason, said in his usual unenthusiastic tone.

"Uh, I thought you were the mayor?" Eddy questioned upon seeing the supposed mayor was also serving as the ticket collector.

"With grate power comes great responsibility, son" the Mayor stoically said.

"Yeah, been told that one before…" Eddy responded as he handed the fast pass they had gotten thanks to Double D.

"Read all the signs…" they heard the Mayor unenthusiastically mutter as they entered. Inside, they walked through a dark corridor, finding some signs along the way which probably were what the Mayor was referring to.

"Do not touch It!" Ed read the first sign.

"Do not photograph It" Eddy read the second.

"You'll have a ball with It" Ed read the third sign.

"Do not use batteries or electrical equipment near It!" both Ed and Eddy read the fourth sign.

"Please Lumpy, tell me this is it, because I can't stand 'It' anymore!" Eddy exclaimed, annoyed at all the rules. Finally, they stopped as they saw a giant neon sign which flashed 'This is It'.

"Behind this sign is the weirdest and wildest thing to ever find its way to Sparksville…" they heard the Mayor's unexpressive voice behind them as he activated a switch that lifted the neon sign up to reveal…

"This is 'It'?!" Eddy exclaimed upon seeing what was behind the sign.

"A giant rubber-band ball!" both Ed and the Mayor exclaimed though one did it with more enthusiasm, no prizes as to guess who. "And who knows what may be inside…" the Mayor added.

"Uhhh… more rubber-bands?" Eddy questioned, causing the Mayor to look at him.

"Stay as long as you want… Mind the signs…" the Mayor said before walking off.

"Look at this place, Ed! Talk about my scams? These guys are full of… 'It'!" Eddy exclaimed annoyed. "Can't believe Sockhead was that excited to come here! We've been punked!"

"What a gaggle of sad-sacks!" Ed exclaimed.

Suddenly, a devilish idea struck Eddy's mind and a smirk formed on his face as he pressed the watch's dial and popped up its core before walking behind the giant rubber-band ball, a bright green light immediately flashing behind it before a giant four-armed red alien lifted up the ball.

"I've got an idea for a great scam, Lumpy!" Four Arms said enthusiastically.

"Oh! Is it the world's largest booger?" Ed asked.

"Uh, no… the world's largest volleyball actually!" Four Arms exclaimed as he juggled the ball using his… well, four arms. "We can have our own volleyball court and the kids will pay us a quarter to play with it!" he continued to explain while playing with the ball.

"Hey, how about a little game to warm up?" he asked as he tossed the giant ball at Ed, who thanks to his inhuman strength was able to push the ball back at Four Arms with no problems whatsoever. Soon, the two friends were just playing with the giant rubber-band ball like it was a regular sized one.

Of course Four Arms was having the advantage due to his even bigger strength, though he was going easy on Ed, but still showboating by putting two arms behind his back or punching the ball with just one hand. "Am I the man or what?" Four Arms asked as he hit the ball once again.

"Oh, you're the man Eddy, but I am Ed!" Ed said as he hit the ball with a double axe-handle, however he didn't control his strength and send the ball flying at great speed before Four Arms could catch it.

"Ed, wait!" Four Arms exclaimed as he tried to catch the fast ball coming at him, however the sheer force behind it was too great and the ball went past him, crashing through a wall and continuing to bounce outside, with several loud crashes being heard.

"Uh oh!" Ed panicked upon seeing the destruction caused by the ball.

"Think someone will notice?" Four Arms wondered as he looked at Ed, before deciding to get the ball back into place before they got in trouble. The giant rubber-band ball continued to bounce over, destroying a hotdog stand before bouncing onto the jackalope statue and back towards Four Arms and Ed, the former tried to catch it but was pushed along due to the speed force, before crashing into a wall as the ball bounced back, knocking over the house of cards while continuing to roll like it was possessed.

Meanwhile, Double D was checking the gift shop stand when he heard some commotion going on behind him. As he turned around, he saw a giant rubber-band ball quickly rolling straight towards him. "Oh my-!" was all he was able to mutter before being rolled over by the giant ball, which proceeded to crash and completely destroy the gift shop before finally coming to a stop.

Soon after, Ed and Four Arms came chasing after it. "There it is!" the big red alien said as they approached the ball. "Hey, where's Sockhead?" he asked confused at the disappearance of his friend, who was standing here just a second ago.

"Ed! Eddy!" they suddenly heard a muffling voice calling from under the giant ball, before Double D reared his head, trying to crawl from under it. Four Arms helped the bruised boy back to his feet. As Double D dusted himself off, he noticed Eddy had transformed. "Eddy! What did I tell you about using your powers for fun?" he then noticed the wreckage caused by the giant ball. "Mother of God! What did you just do?! Vandalism?! Damage to private property?! We'll write a book in criminal record history!" he freaked out.

"Chill out, Sockhead! I can still fix it! All I've gotta do is put everything as it was before someone notices! No problemo!" Four Arms said as he walked up to the giant ball and tried to lift it, however just on cue the hourglass symbol on his shoulder started beeping and flashing the red light, reverting him back to Eddy before he could put everything back into place.

"Well, maybe there is problemo…" Eddy said as he leaned against the giant rubber-band ball, using his right hand with the watch to touch it. This had a strange effect, as suddenly jolts of electricity started to come from all over the ball, before conducting themselves to the watch and then through Eddy's body, giving him a small discharge as his spikey hair functioned as an antenna and shot a small electric bolt towards the power lines. The bolt continued to circle through the lines before shooting towards nearby exhibits, destroying them as it bounced from one to the other, like the rubber-band ball had done, before landing in front of the Eds as a small but bright lighting sphere formed.

The Eds covered their eyes due to the sheer brightness of the sphere, before the lighting suddenly went down. As they opened their eyes again, they found a small black and yellow creature in place of the sphere. The creature stands at roughly a foot tall, with pointy legs, and three fingers on each hand. It looks similar to a battery, with a large yellow lightning bolt-like stripe spanning from where its neck starts to where its legs start on its front and back sides, and also has black plus and minus symbols on its back. The creature was laughing hysterically, showing that it also had big white teeth on its mouth.

Upon seeing the Eds, the creature suddenly vanished, moving so quickly that it seemed to turn into a jolt and leaving sparks behind its trace. Before they could react, the creature had gone behind Ed, with a hand rearing from behind his back to tap him on the shoulder.

"Gravy?" Ed asked as he turned around, the creature reared its head from the other side, mocking him while laughing hysterically. Ed turned around to look the other side but the creature merely moved to the opposite shoulder and tapped him again. "Who is it?" Ed asked as he turned around his head once again but saw no one as the creature had moved back to his opposite shoulder to tap him again, repeating this process a few times until it came face to face with Ed, laughing manically before disappearing. "I'm dizzy…" Ed exclaimed upon moving his head so fast repeatedly.

"What the hell was that?" a quite literary shocked Eddy asked as he got up.

"It's Megawhatt" they suddenly heard the uninterested voice of the Mayor behind as he walked towards them.

"Mega-what?" Ed asked confused.

"That's right. Some say it might be a ball of lightning come alive, others think it is static cling run amok. Tough to say" the Mayor explained them.

"Maybe it's an alien" Eddy observed.

"Alien?" The Mayor just looked at him, his incredulity not visible in his unexpressive face. "That's just plain kooky talk…"

As they spoke, 'Megawhatt', as the creature is known, came nearby a soda machine and, seeing the chance to cause even more trouble, smiled devilishly as it turned into a jolt of electricity before entering the machine, which started shaking like it had come to life.

"What's it doing?" Double D wondered upon seeing the Megawhatt enter the soda machine.

"It feeds on electricity, the more it feeds, the stronger it gets…" the Mayor unenthusiastically explained.

Suddenly, the soda machine popped and fired a soda can at them, hitting Ed straight on the head, though the bubbly giant was not too hurt by it. "Butter toast!" Ed exclaimed unfazed. However, the Eds soon had to run away as the machine started firing cans repeatedly at great speed like they were bullets, the Mayor staying behind while continuing his exposition.

"Did I mention it has a dangerous sense of humor?" the Mayor asked while standing still, seemingly unconcerned for his safety as the soda cans flew by, though none actually hit him.

The Eds and the Mayor took cover behind the giant rubber-band ball as the Megawhatt continued to fire cans and thunderbolts, destroying more exhibits in the process.

"Why was that thing inside a rubber-band ball?!" Eddy questioned.

"Usually it's trapped there so it can't hurt anybody, that was until now…" the Mayor responded.

"Isn't that dangerous?" Double D asked.

"Not if the people read the signs…" the Mayor said as he narrowed his eyes at Eddy and Ed, the former turning to look away while whistling and the latter just smiling dumbly without realizing what was implied.

"Eddy!" Double D berated.

"Okay, fine! We did it! Sorry! Geez!" Eddy admitted. "How do you get it back inside?" he asked the Mayor.

"What do you mean? You are the ones who released it, so you'll be the ones to catch it…" the Mayor said in disinterest as he put a straw in his mouth while sitting at a nearby bench.

"Great, and we'll have to do it for free…" Eddy grumbled.

Later on:

Here we see the Eds walking around looking for Megawhatt. There's a lot of wreckage around caused by the electric creature, as well as the previous damage done accidentally by them.

"Here Sparky! Come boy!" Ed shouted while whistling as if he was calling for a dog.

"It's no dog, Lumpy" Eddy told him. Unbeknownst to them, Megawhatt is actually on the moving, turned into electricity to move through the power lines without being detected, before appearing over a light pole to watch them over their heads.

"Maybe we could catch it with some batteries?" Double D theorized, however Megawhatt decided to strike at that moment, turning itself into a jolt and quickly sneaking up behind Double D, before giving him a wedgie and tying his underwear to the hat on his head.

"AAH! Hello!" Double D exclaimed in pain while Megawhatt laughed hysterically.

"Hahaha! I like him, he's funny!" Eddy laughed along Megawhatt.

"It's not funny! It's actually really painful!" the wedgied Double D cried.

"Awww, but he's so cute! Hug me Sparky!" Ed exclaimed as he ran up to Megawhatt with his arms open. The creature used its lighting speed to disappear out of the way before Ed could catch him and reappeared behind him. Ed turned around and tried to hug it again, only for Megawhatt to keep dodging and dodging him, until it seemed to actually have gotten tired. It finally decided to embrace Ed in a hug… only to use its electricity to shock him as he grabbed it.

"Zappity Zap Zap" a slightly charred Ed coughed before fainting due to the electric shock. Megawhatt laughed even more.

"Lumpy! Hey, I'm the only one who can treat my friends that!" Eddy complained. "You've done it now!" he exclaimed as he pressed the watch's dial and popped up the core, then slammed it down and a green light enveloped him.

Inside the green light, we see Eddy's skin turning into a deep black color, with yellow stripes forming over it, his eyes changing color before disappearing and a big yellow circle appearing over his face instead as his limbs stretched and grew in size. When the light faded away, Eddy had transformed into a humanoid alien with a yellow torso and legs, his head, arms and back are black with yellow circuitry looking stripes all over his body. Where his face would be was just a yellow circle and the watch's symbol was on his chest.

"Why go Upgrade?" Double D asked, curious about the odd alien choice.

"It's complicated, you wouldn't understand" 'Eddy', in this form known as Upgrade, said with his voice sounding more robotic in this form. Also, when he talks his single 'eye' glows a bright yellow light as he speaks.

"The watch didn't let you change into what you wanted it to, did it?" Double D narrowed his eyes at Upgrade. The silence he got seemed to confirm his suspicions.

"…shut up!" Upgrade exclaimed. Upon seeing him, Megawhatt started to laugh like a maniac, angering Upgrade who furiously frowned his eye and proceeded to shot a powerful energy beam out of it, Megawhatt barely dodging it. "Hey, that's new!" Upgrade exclaimed in delight at his new found ability. "Not so funny now, huh?" he taunted the electric alien, who had stopped its laughter after seeing his power, but just on cue Megawhatt returned to laugh like a maniac after he said this, before disappearing in a quick flash to cause more mayhem around, leaving only sparks on its trace.

Upgrade started to give chase after it, while Ed and the still wedgied Double D walked away from the battle, the latter grumbling in pain as he walked. However, a repeat of what happened to Ed followed, as Megawhatt proved to be too fast to catch and vanished in a flash before Upgrade could hit, and when he actually managed to grab it thanks to his arms elastic abilities, a discharge went through his body and sent him flying.

"Ugh… Note to self, do not touch the electric freak when you're made of steel…" Upgrade mumbled as he got up. Megawhatt continued to taunt him by sticking out his tongue and making mocking gestures, however Upgrade grabbed the giant rubber ball and used it to roll up towards the electric devil. "Time to go home!" Upgrade exclaimed as he rolled over the ball, however he was accidentally sending pieces of rubber-band flying in every direction, which caused even more damage.

Double D had to duck the incoming flying bands. "Eddy! Watch out! You're making more damage!" he warned while covering on the ground.

"Is it just me, or is there a lot of excitement today?" the Mayor questioned as he continued to sat on the bench while munching popcorn, not really caring for his safety as the rubber-bands flew past him though none actually hit him.

"Ugh! Sorry!" Upgrade grumbled as he got down from the giant ball, while Megawhatt pointed at him and laughed for his plan backfiring. This angered Upgrade even more as he was getting pretty tired of playing these silly games with the electric alien. "That's it! I'm knocking the lights out of your battery face!" he angrily said as he looked around for something he could use against Megawhatt. His eyes- err, eye, just a single one, sorry, caught glimpse of a sewer and he proceeded to take the lit out of it.

"Hey, Sparky! Catch!" he exclaimed as he threw the sewer lid at Megawhatt, it being too focused laughing to dodge it even with its speed. The lid actually went through Megawhatt, slicing it in two, however much to Upgrade's shock and horror, both parts of Megawhatt instantly regenerated, each forming a Megawhatt of its own, so now there were two of them!

"That wasn't a good idea…" Upgrade muttered. Just to make things worse for him, the hourglass symbol on his chest started beeping and the red light flashed, reverting him back to normal.

"Oh come on!" Eddy angrily yelled at his watch. The Megawhatts laughed at the now defenseless boy before shooting thunderbolts at him, Eddy quickly fleeing while dodging the incoming blasts.

"Hiya Eddy!" a now recovered Ed saluted as he saw his friend running past him.

"Run Ed!" Eddy exclaimed as he continued to flee.

Ed turned around and saw the two incoming Megawhatts flying at him. "Oh, wow! There are two Sparkies now!" he exclaimed with joy as he opened his arms to receive them, the Megawhatts tried to stop but their momentum was too much and they were caught in Ed's arms. "Now we'll have the double of fun!" Ed happily said as he hugged them like they were friends.

The two Megawhatts tried to get out of his arms to no avail before using their energy to shock him like before, however Ed seemed to have developed more resistance to their electricity, as he wasn't that damaged by it and even laughed while being shocked. The Megawhatts looked confused at each other and shrugged before using all their energy to shoot two thunderbolts at Ed, finally breaking free and sending the lovable oaf flying.

"Ed!" Double D, who had managed to untie his hat from his underwear, exclaimed in worry as he ran at his friend who had just landed close. "Are you okay?" he asked him.

"Those two sure have energy, Double D…" Ed stated while on the ground and with volts of electricity still running through his body.

"Energy? Wait a minute! Ed, you're a genius!" Double D exclaimed, too caught in the emotion to realize the irony of that sentence.

"Gravy?" the sparkling Ed mumbled.

"I'll explain it in just a second, but I'll need your help with something!" Double D said as he tried to lift Ed off the ground, however upon touching him the electricity he emanated also ran through his body, shocking the genius boy as well.

Meanwhile, the Megawhatts were now causing double the damage, before being called out. "Hey, mega-wimps! You want me? Come get me!" Eddy shouted, getting their attention as the electric duo charged at him. "This better work out, Sockhead…" Eddy muttered as he closed his eyes and braced for the impact. He couldn't use the watch to defend himself right now, and he was damn sure if it didn't work then he would be toast quite literary by the electricity.

However, once the Megawhatts got close enough, Double D gave signal. "Now, Ed!" he shouted, and immediately after Ed came running while carrying the world's largest thermometer, which they had taken from another exhibition.

"Here Sparkies! Get the stick!" Ed exclaimed as he used his incredible strength to throw the giant thermometer over his head like it was a javelin, landing in between Eddy and the incoming Megawhatts, who tried to stop but were unsuccessful and crashed into the thermometer, their bodies turning to electricity as they were rerouted into the ground.

Eddy opened his eyes to see the thermometer in front of him and no sign of the Megawhatts. "Huh? What happened?" he asked in confusion.

"Well, thanks to Ed I figured that the Megawhatts bodies compose of electricity, so we used the world's largest thermometer as a lightning rod" Double D explained as he walked up to him. "Looks like science beats superheroes today, Eddy…" he declared with a bit of smug.

"Yeah, yeah, you get one win and all of the sudden you are so great…" Eddy muttered a bit annoyed as he couldn't save the day this time.

"Hurray! Happy day guys!" Ed shouted cheerfully.

"Actually, the ground is merely a conductor…" the Mayor unenthusiastically explained.

"What does that mean?" Eddy asked.

"Oh no!" Double D's eyes widened upon hearing this.

"No hurray?" Ed asked confused.

"It means the Megawhatts will be underground just until they find their way back to the surface!" Double D explained with worry. Just then, electric bursts started to come from the payphones as they all started to ring. "They are on the telephone lines!" Double D exclaimed in terror.

"I got it! I got it!" Ed exclaimed as he ran up to a payphone ringing next to him.

"Ed, wait!" both Double D and Eddy tried to stop him but were too late.

"Yello?" Ed answered the phone, however electricity started to burst out of it before a Megawhatt reared its head out of the phone line, laughing maniacally and sticking its tongue at Ed before fully coming out of the line, another Megawhatt immediately following and then another, and other…

Electricity started to burst out of the power lines before more Megawhatts appeared over them, and over the giant hotdog, and over the jackalope… until there was an army of them!

"Nice work, Sockhead…." Eddy sarcastically complimented.

"Don't mention it…" Double D panicked as some Megawhatts shot thunderbolts at them. They fled while being chase by the Megawhatts, however Ed tripped with a trough, pouring water all over the ground. One Megawhatt stopped upon seeing this and looked at the puddle before calling for all his comrades.

Suddenly, all the Megawhatts lined up as the commander got on top of the jackalope statue and started to explain something in a strange alien language which consisted of high-pitched squeaking and chirping noises. Then all the Megawhatts started to laugh uncontrollably, the sound being so high-pitched and strong that broke most of the glass windows and made everyone cover their ears in pain, before they all turned into electricity and vanished.

"What? Where did they go?" Eddy asked confused.

"I don't know, but it can't be good…" Double D deduced. Just after he finished saying that, an explosion came from the planetarium before what could be better described as a giant robot made out of the planetarium exhibits rose up and started to walk away, seemingly possessed by the Megawhatts as electric energy bursts came out from it.

"The robots are coming! The robots are coming!" Ed started to shout as if reviving one of their prior adventures.

"Ed, shut up!" Eddy told him.

"Well, that's something you don't see every day…" the Mayor muttered as he watched the planetarium exhibit walking away.

"Where are they going anyways?" Eddy asked.

"I think they are looking for another way to power up, and then use it to cause more trouble. They think it's so funny…" the Mayor theorized.

"There's a hydroelectric dam not too close from here… if the Megawhatts get a hold of it, they could end up destroying all of Peach Creek before moving to the next town!" Double D realized.

"BATTERY FACED BEINGS THAT SMELL LIKE WAFFLES!" Ed shouted.

"Any other great idea, Sockhead?" Eddy questioned.

Double D put a hand on his chin to think as he took a glance of his surroundings, before his eyes posed on the world's largest fish bowl. "Actually Eddy, something just came to my mind…"

Later at the hydroelectric dam:

Here we can see the planetarium walking up to the dam before it started to smash it, causing some cracks over it, before a column of flame engulfs them, though it didn't cause mayor damage. The planetarium, with the Megawhatts still possessing it, looked up to see Heatblast on top of the dam.

"This is your last chance, stop causing trouble or you'll bare the heat!" Heatblast threatened.

The Megawhatts didn't seem to care though, as the planetarium smashed the dam once again, causing a leak and knocking off Heatblast over the edge at the same time. Heatblast started to descend the dam to the rapidly approaching water, though he was able to create a column of flame under himself and ride it to safety, landing while laughing smugly. However, he soon turned around and realized the leak continued to flow.

"Stop that!" Heatblast said as he moved to seal the leak, using his flames to melt over the concrete over the hole and avoid a flood. While he was busy with that, the planetarium moved to the nearby turbines and started to absorb their energy, it seemed like Double D and the Mayor were right about the Megawhatts wanting to use the dam to power up.

Heatblast used another column of fire to fly over and charge at the planetarium, however it smacked him away, sending him crashing into a wall. It seemed like the Megawhatts gained a massive amount of energy already, as they smacked Heatblast again once he got back on his knees, sending the fire-made alien flying and staggering.

The planetarium approached once again, however something stopped it by grabbing its leg. After looking down, it found none other than Ed holding it back. "Stop it, Sparky! Bad boy! Bad!" Ed said as he tried to pull back the giant planetarium, which merely kicked him away. However, upon turning it was blasted with a huge fireball courtesy of Heatblast, smashing the structure into rubble.

"What's the matter? Can't take a joke?" Heatblast taunted as he saw the Megawhatts leave the now destroyed planetarium, looking rather angrily. "You really got burned with that one! You guys should quit while you're behind!" he laughed at them, annoying the electric aliens who proceeded to charge at Heatblast.

He seemed to be anticipating it though, as he used his flames to create a smokescreen and the Megawhatts just went through it, with no traces of Heatblast behind. As they looked up, they found him near a large tarp covering a sphere-shaped object while blowing kisses at them.

"You missed, suckers!" Heatblast shouted. The Megawhatts got so annoyed that they attacked recklessly towards him as he enters the tarp, turning into jolts as they followed him in.

"Eddy did it! They fell for the trap!" Double D exclaimed as he and Ed came from behind the tarp and pulled it off to reveal all the Megawhatts trapped inside the world's largest fishbowl. Heatblast quickly used his fire to melt the top and sealed them in.

"Na na!" Heatblast mocked while sticking a small flame out of his mouth like a tongue. The Megawhatts were making faces against the glass and tapping it furiously to no avail.

"Good job, Eddy! With that glass sealed, they won't go anywhere!" Double D congratulated. "Once again, science saves the day" he added as the hourglass symbol on Heatblast chest started to beep and a red light flashed, reverting him back to normal.

"Yeah, but with a little help from science fiction!" Eddy said as he leaned against the giant glass containing the Megawhatts.

"And I helped too!" Ed chirped in.

Later on:

Here we can see the employees at Sparksville packing up the remaining exhibitions to move on, as well as cleaning the wreckage done by the Megawhatts. The Eds are standing along the Mayor next to the giant bowl, which is now covered by the tarp again.

"Folks, we're in debt with you for your help…" the Mayor told them.

"Thank you, Mr. Mayor. I hope this hasn't caused many setbacks for the fair" Double D said.

"Well, we'll recover from this and move to our next destination…" the Mayor explained. "It was quite helpful actually, now we have a new attraction, the world's largest light bulb…" he removed the tarp to reveal the Megawhatt prison which in fact glowed like a giant light bulb, with all the Megawhatts still inside moaning and protesting.

"Hahaha! They are so cute!" Ed said as he watched them, while Eddy and Double D covered their eyes due to the sheer brightness of the bulb.

"This should bring more tourists, it's going to be great… as long as people read the signs…" the Mayor glared at Eddy and Ed during the last part.

"Yeah, sorry about that…" Eddy apologized. "So, we're even?"

"I guess…" the Mayor responded.

"And you'll keep the secret for us?" Eddy asked as he looked at his watch.

"My lips are sealed… but you'll have to help clean up this mess…" the Mayor said.

"No problem! Uh, it'll take a while till my watch recharges though…" Eddy explained as he showed the watch, which still had its hourglass red.

"I don't see why you can't start anyways…" the Mayor told them as he handed the Eds broomsticks and walked off.

"Great, he put us to work for free!" Eddy complained, not happy that they would be stuck cleaning until he could use the watch again to speed up the process.

"Look at the bright side, Eddy. At least we did get the emotion you wanted…" Double D tried to appease.

"Can we play with the Sparkies again, guys?" Ed asked.

"Shut up, Ed! Next time I'm picking where we're going…" Eddy angrily muttered as they started cleaning.

Hey everyone, that's chapter 4 for ya! This one was a lot of fun to write, hope you had as much fun while reading it! I really struggled to get trivia facts this time around, but here are some!

Trivia:

1) The title and plot of this chapter are based on the original Ben 10 episode "Tourist Trap".

2) The bit in which Eddy fells into a dumpster after timing out as Stinkfly is based on a scene from the previous chapter (the Krakken episode) which I cut out because I thought the chapter was getting too long. The scene in question is the one in which Ben times out as Stinkfly and falls over the Rust bucket. I decided to add it here as a bonus and for comedic effect. The whole "Is it a bird, maybe a plane?" Superman parody bit is also taken from that scene.

3) Lemon Brook is an actual town in the EENE universe as it has been mentioned in multiple episodes (also it's where the Lemon Brook Lumpers from the episode "Tight End Ed" are from). Orange Harbor and Pomelo Beach are cities taken from the EENE fanfic "Ed, Edd n Eddy: The Teen Series" by Easymac120.

4) Ed finding and eating a corn dog from the ground is a reference to the Big Picture Show in which he does the same.
