Chapter ten: It wasn't his last stand
In the hokage's office
Naruto and Jiraiya request to go on a search mission for Kurama.
"I'm sorry but we need to focus on the war, having one of our strongest shinobi and promising Genin gone would be a huge blow for us. We can't allow you to search for your friend." Tsunade said.
"He isn't our friend; he is the nine tailed fox." Naruto said.
Tsunade's eyes widened when Naruto said that.
"How do you know? No one knows the name of the fox." Tsunade asked.
"Kiba told me Lucifer aka Chance told Kiba the name of the fox before taking it." Naruto answered.
"Fine, I will let you go search for Kurama." Tsunade said.
"Thank you, Grandma Tsunade." Naruto Thanked Tsunade.
"You're welcome." Tsunade responded.
They pack their things and leave the village. They travel for several days but can't find anything. One night they decide to camp on a hill that overlooks a village. Jiraiya decides to go into the village to buy supplies with some money he earned gambling. But all Jiraiya sees are corpses covered in blood, some without heads. A battle took place. Jiraiya sees one villager and old man and rushes over to him.
"Sir what happened?" Jiraiya asked.
"Custer has come back for revenge." The old man answers.
The old man bleeds out from a stab wound on his shoulder. He was wearing a name tag with the name Satun Tsar.
Jiraiya hears swords clashing and goes to what was going on. He sees a man covered in dark energy impaling a teenage male through the heart with his sword.
"My oh my, it seems someone came to witness the Rombuku tribe massacre, one of many more to come to those dastardly Indian men, women and children." Custer said.
"Why did you do this?" Jiraiya asked.
'It all started a long time ago. My family along with hundreds of other clans escaped our former country that became a militarist dictatorship. Unfortunately, native Indians were already occupying the land. Our clans decided to take the land by force, some refused and defended the Indians. My Clan defended the Indians until they killed my entire family except for me. the reason they did this was because the leader of one of their tribes accused my family of being traitors. I decided to get my revenge on them, and I quickly changed sides of our war against the Indians. I quickly rose through the ranks in the military, gaining fame from battles of Maryland's creek and Andersonville. I made a promise to my family's grave that me and all others who support my cause shall kill all Indians as payback. And so far, I think it's going well. I have one last tribe I must eliminate. Now I bid you farewell, old shinobi." Custer answered.
Jiraiya uses summoning: Toad Mouth Bind to trap the man in the esophagus of a giant toad.
"Wow, I give you credit you made me worried for a second. Too bad I'm just his shadow clone." Custer said.
The clone dispels in a puff of smoke.
Jiraiya cancels his jutsu to see that the man has escaped.
Jiraiya looted what supplies he could find from the village and returned to naruto.
''Wow pervy sage, that's a lot of stuff you bought." Naruto said.
"Naruto. That village was massacred. They are all dead. I took all the supplies available.
Naruto was shocked.
"No way. Do you know who did it?" Naruto asked.
"Some man named Custer." Jiraiya answered.
"We have to go after him." Naruto said.
"I don't know where he is. But I may have a clue where he will be going." Jiraiya responded.
"Where?" Naruto asked.
"Torigakure. The village hidden in the birds." Jiraiya answered.
"Why would he go there?" Naruto asked.
"His goal was to eliminate all Indian tribes just as he did to the Rombuku tribe. The only other tribe that still exists is the Echidna tribe in Torigakure." Jiraiya answered.
"Let's go, we have to make it to Torigakure before it is too late." Naruto said.
"Tori has a law enacted where any shinobi or kunoichi from other villages that get within a certain distance without permission will automatically declare war on the nation the shinobi is currently serving. We don't need more enemies." Jiraiya said.
"Then what do we do?" Naruto asked.
"We will go tell the hokage and hopefully she will send a message, hopefully it gets to them before it's too late." Jiraiya answered.
They go back to Konoha and report to the hokage that they failed to find Kurama and what Custer will do to the Echidna tribe in Tori. Tsunade hires a delivery ninja to deliver a message to Tori warning them of the possible attack by Custer. Shizune tells Jiraiya and Naruto that Custers full name is George Armstrong Custer.
"Since you failed your last mission. I have an important one for you so that you can redeem yourselves." Tsunade said.
"What is it?" Naruto asked.
"A while ago a girl named Yakumo Kurama was taken from her home by a woman who fits this description. Long blonde hair and wears knight's armor. She defeated a member of the anbu and two medical nin. If they can't capture this knight woman and bring back Yakumo, then you must Jiraiya.
"Wait, we encountered someone with that exact same description in the village. Naruto let's see if she is still here." Jiraiya said.
Naruto nods in agreement and Jiraiya and Naruto rush out of the office.
Naruto and Jiraiya search everywhere but fail to find this mysterious female knight.
They ask Izumo and Kotetsu, the gate guards but they have never seen someone like that before.
Jiraiya proposes the idea of her secretly leaving the village, so Jiraiya and Naruto leave the village to search. Eventually they see Chance looking over the shoulder of a girl who is painting.
"Pervy Sage, that's Chance the guy who removed Kurama from me." Naruto shouted.
Naruto's shout startles the girl.
"Easy Yakumo, they can't hurt you, nobody can. And Naruto, I didn't remove Kurama from you. That was Corrie's unintentional doing." Chance responded with his usual unenergetic tone.
"I don't believe you, you're a horrible liar!" Naruto shouts.
"Shall I get rid of them?" The girl asked.
"Not yet." Chance answered.
"And no, I'm not a liar. I gave Corrie the wrong scroll teaching her a jutsu that weakened your fox's seal rapidly instead of partially unsealing it. It wasn't supposed to unseal that quickly, I was supposed to continue kicking your ass then it would unseal. It appears the seal was already partially unsealed so in an alternate universe as soon as Corrie put the "Unsealing jutsu" on your already partially unsealed seal Kurama would have been released on the spot. The whole point of the seal was to partially unseal your seal to a degree where you could have access to all of your nine tails chakra and defeat Korrina's soldiers who I purposely had stationed there so you could fight them. Then weakening the seal over time until you fought me, while kicking your ass the seal would break, releasing Kurama and Yakumo here would take control of it with genjutsu. Do you understand?" Chance explained and asked.
"I understand." Naruto answered.
"Wow. you did. Wasn't expecting that but hey you are the 4th hokage's son so I should have expected that." Chance responded with shock.
"Wait, what?" Naruto asked.
"Wait, you didn't know?" Chance asked.
"They never told you, after all these years. I feel so sorry for you. my uncle Archie, He saw your parents die, to protect you. He heard your mothers last words and she spoke. '' Please look after my child, his name is Naruto. I don't know what your mother's name is, but I do know your fathers' name. His name was Minato Namikaze." Chance answered.
Naruto starts tearing up.
"Yakumo, attack them, I'm sure they are after both of us," Chance said.
"Right." Yakumo agreed.
Yakumo places a sleep inducing genjutsu, putting Jiraiya and Naruto to sleep.
"So, are you satisfied with the painting I made for you?" Yakumo asked.
"More than satisfied, it's amazing, I only wish for talent like yours." Chance answered.
"Thank you." Yakumo thanked Chance.
"Are you going to kill them?" Yakumo asked.
"Unfortunately, no." Chance answered.
Yakumo packs up her art equipment. Corrie arrives at the scene and escorts Yakumo away.
Chance walks back into the village.
In Rota
Korrina is training with her soldiers. Shannon, Zabuza and a newly revived Haku break down the front dojo door.
"Korrina, the fighter of five gates. By order of the 5th Mizukage, you will allow Gozu and Meizu to join the Kirigakure combat division. Or we will take them by force. " Shannon said.
"It's their decision." Korrina responded.
"Korrina, we choose to serve the Kirigakure unit." Gozu said.
Meizu nodded in agreement.
They leave with Shannon, Zabuza and Haku.
