Chapter Five: The Ninja journey begins,

"You are but a whelp," A horned man said as he kicked Naruto, the boy growled as he rolled down a hill stopping as his back hit a tree, "An insect incapable of welding the divine power you have lucked into boy,"

Naruto let out an earth shaking roar, his arm coated in red chakra as he lunged at the old man, "POWER NOT YOURS!,"

The man ducked under the punch, "It is not yours either," he slid his arm against Naruto's taking the red chakra and forging it into a red chakra axe, "It belongs to the young master!," he swung the axe towards the boy but not one to die easily Naruto thrusted his arm up trying to smash the axe, "A fools erran-," the old man was tripped by an ethereal red tail growing out of the boy,

"TAKE THIS!," Naruto cried hitting the man in the stomach, Naruto grinned as the hit connected he won,

Victory turned to fear as the man slid back a foot, "Pathetic," he spoke, his voice rich with disappointment, quickly he sliced off Naruto's arm and used his boot to press the boys back against the tree, "I had hoped my final battle to at least be an enjoyable one Whelp,"

"I'm not Whelp, I'm Naru-tAAAAAHHH," the axe blade rubbed against Naruto's shoulder making him scream,

"Whelps do not need names, only the strong do," The man raised his axe, "Now Naruto," He said with a mad glint in his eyes, "WAKE UP!,"

Naruto screamed, "AHHHHHH," he took a few breaths and looked around,

"Bad dreams?," a voice asked, he looked up, the lid of his sake pool was moved so he could see Ino looking down at him,

"Yiss," he said, he held a hand to his head, trying to remember everything, he took a deep breath, "It's been three years," he said,

"Since the chakra axe guy came after you?, Yes," Ino said helping him out of his Sake pool,

"However that guy got past Lord Hokage's sensors I'll never know," Klara huffed, she smiled at Naruto and handed him his necklace,

Naruto thanked her and looked at it, it was a simple necklace made with the horn Naruto knocked off of that guy three years ago, 'The only reason I'm alive is Her,' Naruto thought, he cracked his neck and smiled putting the necklace on, "So what are we doing today?," he asked, "it's Klara's turn right?,"

Ino groaned while Klara hid her small smile, "Idiot, it's graduation day," Ino groaned loudly,

Naruto blinked, Klara walked around Ino so she could discreetly whisper into Naruto's ear, "The day you two finally become Genin,"

"Oh," Naruto smiled, "It's Ninja day!,"

Ino nodded, "Fine, it's ninja day, are you ready or not?,"

"Ino you have an hour to get to the academy why all the rush?," Klara asked,

"Cause when we get there Sasuke and Naruto will be itching to toss each other around and despite being just outside the classroom we'll be late, and I'm not getting in trouble a fourth time cause you both like hitting each other too much to use your brains,"

Naruto smiled as he pulled on his power bracers and strapped the Kokuo furnace to his back, he frowned for a second, then he slapped his face and gave a big smile, "Right let's go!," He cheered running toward the academy,

"Wait up," Ino called running after him, Klara just shook her head and followed them both,

Getting to the academy Naruto (And only Naruto) was shocked to see Sasuke had been waiting on the roof of the building for them, "Good morning Naruto," Sasuke said leaping off the building, "Today we'll finally settle who is the better out of the two of us," he smirked,

"Wow what a surprise, Naruto look Sasuke Uchiha himself was waiting for us," Ino snarked,

"Ha, this time-,"

"Well you two enjoy being late I'm going to class," Ino stated walking inside, "See you after class Klara,"

"I'll get the celebration ready for you both," Klara said,

"Why is she acting like that?," Sasuke asked, "It's not like we've fought every day for three years,"

"You two have done exactly that," Shikamaru groaned walking past them,

"Shall we get started?," Sasuke asked,

Naruto popped his neck and cracked his knuckles, "We shall,"

"You'll hurt your fingers doing that," Shinobu said messing his hair as she walked by Naruto, "And mum wants you home by dinner remember we're having dinner with the Hyuga clan head," she called to Sasuke who just nodded,

As people passed the two Naruto and Sasuke walked towards the practice ring students used to practice their Taijutsu,

No words between the two were needed, Sasuke took a kunai out and threw it straight up, both took their stances and as the kunai hit the ground they charged at each other Naruto held out his arm as he ran and when he got into range he swung it at Sasuke who ducked under it then he jumped into the air and tried kicking Naruto in the back of the head, but Naruto dodged and wrapped his arms around Sasuke,

"Got you Sasuke, now give or I'll squeeze," He warned,

"I'll call that bluff,"

"Are you sure?, I can crush trees and rocks by hugging them too hard,"

"But you can't crush me," Sasuke smirked,

Naruto shrugged "Don't say I didn't warn you," and then he squeezed poofing Sasuke, Naruto blinked, "What just happened?,"

"MY BACK!," Naruto turned seeing Sasuke on the floor behind him, "Ohh should've taken that warning,"

"You alright?," Naruto asked holding a hand out,

"No," Sasuke groaned accepting the hand,

Suddenly a shadow loomed over the two, They boys turned to see Iruka glaring at them, "YOU STUPID FOOLS!," he shouted hitting them both on the head,

OCTOPUS-A few seconds later-OCTOPUS

Naruto and Sasuke were sat on the floor in front of the entire class, "Would anyone care to tell these two what they did wrong?,"

"They were late?," Ino asked,

"They were fighting?," Shikamaru suggested,

"They were and are morons," Unlucky stated with an odd twitch,

"All very good points, but no," Iruka said, "THEY BOTH REFUSE TO LEARN FROM THEIR MISTAKES," Iruka shouted, "NARUTO ATTEMPED TO CRUSH SASUKE, AND SASUKE LET THE FACT THAT HE'S BEEN TRAINING WITH HIS BROTHER INFLATE HIS EGO AND GAVE NARUTO THE ADVANTAGE," Iruka shouted, "Now if you're both done for the day, GO TAKE YOUR SEATS,"

"Okay Thanks Iruku-sensei," Naruto cheered with a backflip into his regular seat in the back with Ino, and Shinobu, While Sasuke just gave a grunt and walked to his seat,

"Good," Iruka said "Now, as you all know today is the last test you have to pass for your academy days, pass and you get one of these," Miss Unlucky behind Iruka held up a leaf headband,

"Yay for the Hidden Leaf!,"

"Naruto shush," Ino chided,

"Those that don't pass will have to retake the entire class for the next three years," Iruka said,

"And there'll be children with you," Unlucky warned, "Trust me those kids will eat you all alive,"

"So do your best on the next tests,"

"Or else,"

"Yes thank you miss Unlucky, now first we have a big test ahead of us," Most of the class groaned at that,

"I think we should fail the ones that groaned," Unlucky said,

"We have to give them a chance,"

"I remember their faces I'll just fail them when we get to the physical exam,"

"If you mass fail them you'll be fired,"

"Very well,"

Then the test was passed out and the entire class knew better then to test Unlucky on her tolerance and quietly worked on the test,

OCTOPUS-Skip to the final exam-OCTOPUS

Naruto had zoned out for the rest of the day since nothing interesting happened though Ino dragged him to the bathroom so Matatabi could re-apply the seal on her before she was called into the final exam room,

Naruto sat in his chair nervously, 'I won't make it,' he thought, 'I've been training for three years and I can only barely use Steam Release,'

"C'mon little we got this, all you need to do is like we planned, I'll help with the clone, Jump to simulate the changing with the stump, and okay we haven't figured out the transformation yet but maybe we only need two to pass?," Gyuki said,

'Maybe," Naruto said somewhat unconvinced, but he didn't have much time to think before Iruka entered the room, "Naruto," Naruto looked up at him, "It's time,"

OCTOPUS-With Itachi-OCTOPUS

Itachi had been waiting for today for years, he couldn't keep the mile wide grin off his face even as he finished the last of his paperwork and left the office, First he stopped by the Yamanaka compound, he arrived just in time to see Klara leave,

She bowed upon seeing him, "Greetings Lord Hokage," she said,

"Oh Lord Hiruzen's here?," Itachi asked looking around,

"I meant you," Klara stated,

"Right," Itachi nodded embarrassedly, "How long am I going to forget I'm the Hokage now?," he muttered to himself,

"Are you having a break from work sir?," She asked,

"Not exactly, I'm actually done for the day," he said, "I just came by because I needed to talk to you,"

Klara raised an eyebrow at the kage, "Me?,"

"Yes, soon Naruto and Ino will join the shinobi ranks, but they need another team member," Itachi said, "I was thinking that since you and them were friends maybe you'd be a temporary leaf ninja?," he asked,

Klara blinked, "Why?,"

"You were a Genin you know the rules, teams of three Genin led by a single Jonin," Itachi said, "Well that and I think we both know somebody'll need to fix his seals sooner rather then later,"

Klara sighed, "Good point sir," she ran a hand through her hair, "When am I getting instated?,"

"As soon as you pass a test with our TnI division,"

"That'll be cheerful," Klara rolled her eyes, "But this is a good-," red flashed before her eyes,

"And Naruto and Ino will be okay with you?," Itachi asked,

"I'll protect them with my life Uchiha-san," Klara blinked and then she coughed, "Hokage-san,"

"Well let's go to the academy then Klara-ch-," Itachi stopped, then he vanished,

Klara let out a breath, 'Of course he'd be suspicious of me,' she inhaled, 'Better not do anything suspicions then,' Klara thought then she walked toward the academy,

Itachi reappeared inside the testing room, Unlucky was gone, Iruka and Rin stood behind the desk, and one of the walls was smashed, "What happened?," he asked,

"Unlucky kicked him out a window after he transformed into Sensei, he seemed fine at first but then he formed a tail and jumped through the wall," Rin said,

Itachi's eyes widened, and again he vanished, now he was outside the Uchiha clan house, he stepped inside,

Mikoto smiled as she saw him, "He's in your room,"

"Is he-, has he said anything?,"

"Just, go upstairs," Mikoto said,

Itachi nodded, and he walked upstairs, his room door was open, he walked over and reached for his sword, he shook his head, and took a breath, "Naruto?," he asked walking in,

Naruto sat in a corner facing the wall, the red charka surged around him and a tail had formed,

"You are Naruto right?," Itachi asked,

"Itachi," Naruto said, he turned to the kage, and immediately Itachi cursed himself, Naruto had tears streaming down his face from all three eyes, "I'm sorry," he cried, "I lost control," he sobbed,

Itachi felt guilty, he'd nearly drawn his sword on Naruto, he shook his head and walked over, sitting next to the long haired boy, "We all lose control Naruto," he said, "Once a very long time ago I lost control too," he said,

Naruto turned to him, "R-really?,"

Itachi nodded, "Really,"

"It was twelve years ago," Itachi said, "back when I was instated as the fifth Hokage,"

OCTOPUS-Twelve years ago-OCTOPUS

Itachi stood at a podium, he turned to see his family except Naruto and his father on his right side, the third was behind him, "Everyone," he spoke clearly into the mic, "I am Itachi Uchiha," he said, "And while it pains me to do such, I am, here to turn in my own father," he said gesturing to the tied man on his left who glared at him,

"The reason is rather common," Itachi said, "He planed a coup and tried to seize power," Itachi said, Hiruzen patted him on his back, "I-," suddenly an explosion tore thought the air

And in response both Itachi's eyes dyed blood red, "SUSANOO!," And the glowing skeletal arms wrapped around what they could trying to protect as many people it could, though as Itachi saw the explosion go skyward rather then outward he released the jutsu and ran towards the area,

As he ran the building were worn and shaking, until he got to an area that had cratered, in the middle stood something, it turned, It's right side had no skin leaving bloodied bones and torn muscle, what was left of the skin was charred black, blood poured out of its chest, but the eyes are what scared Itachi the most, twin Byakugan eyes and a third lavender pupil stared back at him, "Naruto?,"

Naruto tried taking a step but fell over, Itachi barely caught the child, "I'm a monster," Naruto cried before passing out,

In his mind Itachi had only one question,

"Where the hell are his Anbu!?," Hiruzen shouted mirroring Itachi's thoughts as he saw the crater, Itachi adjusted how he held Naruto as he stood up,

"That," Itachi spoke with no emotion, "Is what I intend to learn," A quick trip to the hospital had Naruto in the care of the head nurse and with Hiruzen watching over the as far as anyone could tell unconscious boy Itachi made a trip to Anbu headquarters,

They were already at attention as he walked through the door, "I want the names of the Anbu who were guarding Naruto, and I want them now," no inflection, no expression, no glare, neither heat, nor cold were in Itachi's tone,

Three Anbu stepped forward, "Bat, Owl, Tiger," Itachi noted, "You all look well considering the size of the area that was destroyed,"

"Sir we can-," Itachi raised a hand,

"Can you?," he asked, "It had best be a good one,"

"We-," The Anbu wearing the owl mask burst into black flames which quickly consumed his body,

"Don't lie," Itachi said, he turned to tiger,

"We figured no one was-," Tiger held her head as her eyes went wide then she fell back,

"Last one," Itachi said drawing his sword, "I want the truth,"

"We weren't there, we haven't watched him for-," A large glowing arm grabbed Bat and pulled him close to Itachi,

"I said, Don't lie,"

"I-,"

Itachi gestured with his sword to Tiger, "She's going through everything she's ever seen someone do to him," Itachi said, "Is that what you want?,"

"Why should we care about a dem-," a cracking sound was heard followed by a scream, Itachi took the masks of the three Anbu, he looked around at the others,

"What are the Anbu supposed to do when someone attacks our village?," he asked,

"Kill them and dispose of the body," they answered in unison,

"Remember that," Itachi said, "And do your jobs,"

Itachi walked back to the hospital slowly, when he entered Naruto's room he found Hiruzen staring down at the head Nurse,

"What happened?," he asked,

"She was going to poison him," Hiruzen said,

"He deserves it he's a-,"

Itachi threw the three masks in front of the Nurse,

"What are-,"

"The masks of the Anbu who were supposed to protect him," Itachi stated, "You're fired, go tell the villagers that if they ever even think of hurting a single hair on Naruto Uzumaki's head then I will show them a demon," Itachi warned,

"Y-you-,"

"Am going to be Hokage?, yes I am," Itachi pointed to Naruto, "That is my teacher Kushina Uzumaki's son, the grandson of my surrogate father, the boy my mother has tried her hardest to raise," Itachi said, "He's my brother, and what Kage would dare allow family to be attacked?," he asked, then he stood aside, the nurse ran out of the room,

"Itachi you should get changed," Hiruzen said,

Itachi saw his clothes were covered in Naruto's blood, he nodded, "When he wakes up I've gotta smile," Itachi said, he turned to his unconscious brother "And I swear I'll make this up to you," he said kneeling, "Even if it takes me my entire life," Itachi cried, "I'll make you happy,"

OCTOPUS-Present day-OCTOPUS

Itachi could still feel the blood on him, just thinking about that day made him angry, he'd never been so angry before, and never since either, "I found out that I failed to look into something enough and it ended up biting me," Itachi said vaguely, "When I found out though I was so mad I fired three people before I was even named fifth Hokage,"

"Did you regret it?," Naruto asked,

Itachi smiled, "After I calmed down a little I was, but then I realised that if I hadn't done anything nothing would've changed, so no not really,"

"Now why don't you tell me what happened?,"

Naruto nodded, "So I was taking the test, right?,"

Itachi nodded,

OCTOPUS-Not long ago-OCTOPUS

Naruto found himself in a room with Iruka, Miss Unlucky, and Rin, A log was on the table next to him, "Now Naruto use the substitution jutsu to change with the log,"

Naruto nodded, "Right," he slapped his cheeks trying to erase his doubts, 'Come on Naruto, this is what that week training with Guy and Lee-Sensei was for,' Naruto crouched, "SUBSTITUTION JUTSU," He shouted as he dived toward the log and serving it towards the ceiling as if it were a volley ball, he sat in the chair before dashing to the wall he ricocheted off it and slide kicked the log to the floor, he did a little handstand and spin, before he flipped to the other wall and cartwheeled to the log grabbing it with his feet and placing it back on the desk then he flipped off it onto his knees, "Ta da!," Naruto grinned,

Iruka had his head in his hands, Rin pinched the bridge of her nose, and Miss Unlucky twitched more then usual,

"I-, you," Iruka stammered, Miss Unlucky reached for Naruto,

"I guess it was fast enough to be a substitution jutsu," Rin groaned,

Iruka nodded, "We really should've expected something like that, more so considering he can't use any actual jutsu,"

Unlucky forced her arm down, "Next is clone jutsu,"

"Unlucky we just-,"

Naruto's eyes changed, "Yes ma'am," Gyuki using Naruto's body flipped and formed one of his own tails "Waa!," he cried splitting the tail and a clone of Naruto formed,

"How'd I get-," Gyuki cleared his throat, "Oh right, I'm a clone,"

"How?,"

"Gyuki can create clones from his tails," Naruto informed,

Iruka gave an exasperated shrug, "Right so if you could-," Iruka stopped his mouth hung open, Rin bit her lip and turned from Naruto, Miss Unlucky stopped twitching,

"Why is everyone-?,"

Unlucky kicked Naruto out the classroom, "I'm turning in for the day," she said walking out the room shaking like a leaf,

Rin ran out of the room and found Naruto confused laying on a floor covered in broken glass, "You alright?,"

"Very confused, but not really hurt,"

"That's what I figured, Miss Unlucky survived the Nine tails' attack," Rin explained, "It's part of the reason she wears those bandages, and why she was placed in your class, the reason she kicked you out a window was because-," Rin closed her eyes, "You-,"

"You looked just like Minato Namikaze,"

"The fourth," Naruto breathed,

"Yes," Rin nodded, "Since you didn't transform you might want to find out who did, and go collect your headband," she said,

"Okay," Naruto nodded, 'Anyone want to come forward?,' he thought,

"Only one among us has the power to change their appearance," Kokuo stated, "The Nine Tails,"

"And only the Nine Tails has a sick enough sense of humour to change you into this fourth guy," Chomei sighed,

'But how can the Nine Tails use their powers?, I thought you guys had to teach me to use them, or use them through me,' Naruto asked,

"And that is exactly what I did, you're welcome," spoke the imposing voice of the Nine Tailed fox,

"Why would you help me?," Naruto asked aloud, the very idea of the nine tails helping him was so far out of what he understood of the fox's character he forgot to keep his words internal which drew the attention of his teachers,

"Can't figure it out?, It's simple, ninja often die out in the field, when you die after a few years we reform, then it's pillage and murder time," Naruto heard the fox chuckle, "Besides, out there there are no Uchiha to stop me from taking over,"

"Naruto is something wrong?,"

OCTOPUS-Present second-OCTOPUS

"Then everything turned red and I panicked," Naruto said,

"I see," Itachi said, "So the Nine tails can use it's power without your say so?,"

Naruto nodded, "Maybe I shouldn't become a-,"

"The first Hokage's wood style could stop the Nine tails' chakra," Itachi said, "For your Jonin Sensei I decided to pick Yamato Senju, he's a man who can use wood style," Itachi said with a smile,

"What?,"

Itachi smiled, "I wanted to surprise you that you were training under a descendent of the first's but if I didn't tell you now you get afraid and throw away your own dreams wouldn't you?,"

Naruto's body trembled and tears streamed down his face, "Thanks Tachi-kun," Naruto cried wrapping his arms around him,

"It's my duty to look after my little brother," Itachi said, "And I'll do anything to keep you safe,"

OCTOPUS-With Klara-OCTOPUS

Klara sat down with Ino, the two had ordered ramen, Klara's had a piece of paper sticking out of it,

"What's this?," she opened it,

"Even Nagato won't protect you from me Konan,"

Klara turned around, No one was there,

"Klara?, you okay?,"

"Yeah I just," Klara swallowed, "Thought I heard someone," the paper was gone,

Sorry for the late update, If there's one piece of advise I have for future writers is sometimes You want to write a certain scene and you can't, try writing a different scene, a small part of waiting time was me trying to write a three month time skip instead, then It was me trying to write Naruto going through the entrance test, and after I was done I couldn't think of anything else to write, so I added Itachi in before,

Also the Klara reveal, who saw it coming?, and be honest now,

Next should be Sweet Saviour,
