Vlad looked at the boy in his arms with sorrow. Oh Daniel… The last of the Fenton family. Vlad couldn't care less about his family legacy, but… Maddie… Daniel was her child, her legacy. He was Vlad's Little Badger. His perfect image of a son. And now despite everything that Daniel might think of him, despite how he can assume that Vlad was going to take advantage of his predicament… Vlad really wasn't going to. The child needed him. And he was going to be there for his boy whether he approved of it now or not.

His boy…

Yes… He won't let Daniel go neither to his neglectful aunt, nor to the system. Daniel will stay with him. Vlad will adopt him, but he won't pressure Daniel to become his son or change his name. He couldn't find the power in himself to do such things anymore. He will do what is best for the child and will do anything for him to be happy again.

The doctor wanted to say something, but Vlad caught his movement and shook his head.

"Just go" he said with a low voice that could be considered as threatening and everyone hurried to leave the ward.

Vlad lifted Daniel in his arms gently and put him back to the hospital bed. He tucked him in with care and then wanted to leave too, but found that he couldn't. He was staring at the child's face and for the first time in all the time he knew the boy he saw not Jack in his features, but Maddie. His lovely, precious Maddie. Two strains of tears rolled down his cheeks.

"Oh Maddie, why have you left us alone?" he questioned the silent room. A little smile graced his lips at the sight of his future sleeping ward. "He is so like you, my dear", he said. "I can't understand why I haven't seen it before… Haven't realised it…"

Vlad didn't know how he would manage to gain Daniel's trust to help him live further. He did so much evil to him, his family and friends that boy certainly hated him with all his heart and soul. But now… now all of it was pointless, because now the one of the two people he held so close to his heart was forever gone… forever dead… And he couldn't blame it on anyone. Certainly not on his Little Badger. He lost much more than Vlad did. Not only his parents who he loved with all his heart, but also his beloved sister who was always there for him, always ready to help and care, and either his best friend, whom he knew from kindergarten, and the girl he was in love with for so long he couldn't even get himself to tell her. And now it was too late.

Vlad couldn't help himself but wonder how he could forget at times that all this time he was fighting a child who didn't even turn fourteen when they met at the college reunion held in his castle in Wisconsin a few months ago. It means that he was only thirteen when he got his powers in the Fenton ghost portal. And nonetheless he found it in himself to protect the people of his town, deeming it his responsibility and succumbing to his unsmart hero-complex, maintaining school, his family and friendship life… He found courage in himself to stand against him, Vlad Masters and Vlad Plasmius, who had twenty more years experience in using ghost powers and refused to be taught about said powers just to remain loyal to his family and himself and protect the man who was his father, who loved and raised him despite being a thorn in a backside in all his social life.

Yes… Daniel is an incredible child... But a child nonetheless. And Vlad has been forgetting about it just too often.

"Oh, Maddie" he thought, "how could you leave me alone with this child? He doesn't trust me and I doubt he ever will. Moreover, he has a good point not to. And how could you leave your precious child with me of all people — me, who regularly brutally fought him because of him just defending his father?"

Vlad never thought how all of this situation looked from the side of a fourteen year old boy, whose family Vlad wanted to tear apart. He never considered how creepy and terrifying it was for a child to understand that his father could be killed right in front of him, just so Vlad could try to have his mother become his wife, and then Daniel himself being forced to be the adopted son of the man, who destroyed his happy family life. And surprisingly Vlad felt incredibly guilty for causing such terrors for the young boy he wanted to be his son.

"Mr. Masters?" suddenly spoke a quiet voice behind him. Vlad looked over his shoulder at the man at doors. It was a man of average height with round glasses and neat hairstyle. His brown coat was hanging from his thin shoulders. "I am terribly sorry to interrupt", he glanced worriedly at the boy's beaten form, "but I need you for a very serious business." Before Vlad could blatantly disagree, the man added: "It's about the boy."

"Must be Fenton's lawyer" thought Vlad.

"If it is quick, I suppose" he said. "I wouldn't want to leave the boy alone now".

"Of course."

The man went to wait in the corridor and Vlad did the same, glancing with concern at Daniel before closing the door behind him. Then he turned to the man.

"And who do I have the honor to speak with?"

The man suddenly took off his old looking brown hat and offered a hand to shake.

"My name is Robert Albert, I am the lawyer of Fenton's family case" Vlad shook the man's hand dismissively. "My condolences for your loss, Mr. Masters. And for the boy's. I knew Jack and Maddie before his birth, they were great people" Robert said sincerely. Vlad couldn't believe that he didn't even hate this man right now for making him leave his boy's side, even if it was for a short time and distance. Maybe, he is just getting soft because of his grief.

"I thank you, Mr. Albert, and agree. Maddie was an astounding woman, as was her daughter."

Robert politely ignored the missing kind comment on Jack's behalf and decided to get to the point.

"I understand that you are a very busy man, Mr. Masters, but I have a piece of news for you from Maddie and Jack" Vlad questionably raised a brow. Robert gestured to the white sofa at the opposite wall. They took their seats, and Mr. Albert started to roam through his briefcase. "Not long ago, I suppose, three or four month ago, they phoned me and asked to help them with the will. I don't know what prompted them to do this, but they both were really excited. Of course, I helped them, and here is this paper."

Robert handed Vlad a document, which was written in his dear Maddie's handwriting. There stated:

"We, Madeline Jossline Fenton and Jackson Owen Fenton, in the case of our death or in a situation that we can no longer provide for our children, Jasmine Loren Fenton and Daniel James Fenton, give the custody of them to Vladimir Gabriel Masters of Masters Road 31, Madison, Wisconsin, until Jasmine Loren Fenton becomes of age (18) and can take the guardianship for her younger brother Daniel James Fenton until he becomes of age (18).

Date: 27 February 2004

Signed: Madeline J. Fenton

Jackson O. Fenton"

Vlad looked at the document in confusion. He couldn't understand… But it was obvious. This paper said that he was Daniel's godfather. He was his legal guardian now. He wouldn't need to go with his money through the many of his acquaintances to gain custody of the boy. Now he will need just to prepare the adoption papers for it to be official and then… then he'll have a son. Maybe not by the boy's will, but at least those magical words on the paper will be his blessing.

Daniel James Masters

Oh, how he craved to see those words on Daniel's school tests, on his reports and documents. Oh, how he wanted to hear Daniel referring to himself as Masters and oh, how obsessed he was to feel Daniel's hug and hear him calling Vlad father. It… it would be the dream coming true… All Vlad wanted was love and family. And now… Now he couldn't have the woman of his dreams, the only true love of his life, but he could have a son…

The only bad thing was that he knew that Daniel would never renounce his birth father, even after said father's death.

But that…. Vlad guessed it was alright. After all it just proved that if he ever gets the blessing of having Daniel's trust, it would be true and loyal. That was all that Vlad could count on.

"I see you didn't know" assumed Robert from the look on Vlad's face. "I know this must be a burden for you— to know that you are in charge of the teenage boy, so traumatized nonetheless. But, of course, you don't have to sign the papers for his guardianship. My boss assumed you wouldn't be pleased with this news, so I must tell you that the place in the orphanage is already ready and waiting for him. He will be fine, I assure you. The Lanesborough Juvenile Center is a great place for a boy like…

"Don't you mean a juvenile detention center?!" cried Vlad in fury. Robert shifted uncomfortably in his seat. Vlad greeted his teeth in rage. "What fool would send an innocent teenage boy to the child jail when he did nothing wrong?!"

Robert sighed tiredly.

"Mr. Masters…"

"It doesn't matter. I'm adopting the boy!" Vlad said blatantly and rose up.

Mr. Albert sighed again and stood up also.

"Mr. Masters, you cannot adopt the boy…"

"And who will stop me?" he hissed. "You? I have a guardianship on Daniel, I am his legal guardian, I am his godfather! And soon I will be his foster father as well. My boy needs a responsible adult with him, the one who will care about him, not even more trauma from bullying in the detention center!"

"Mr. Masters, I know that system is not the best of places. But juvie is the only option we can afford. And don't tell me about adoption. We both know that you are incapable of being a father. You're a billionaire with companies to run, money to gain, wealth to hold and fame to increase. You won't have time for a child, not only this one, but any other. You are a bachelor, moreover, you don't have a wife. The boy needs both parents."

"And the juvie can give him that, can it?" Vlad growled.

"That's not the point. System is system. But you are a billionaire, who has a different woman in his bed every other night, you are not fit to be a fath…"

Suddenly a loud hard slap echoed through the corridor, and nurses who were passing by were startled by the move of Fenton's visitor. There was a big red handprint on Robert's cheek, and it was so raw it could be a burn.

"Don't you ever say something like this about me!" hissed Vlad. "My only love of life was killed and I would not let you dirty her memory!" he left a quick sign and straightened his back, giving a lawyer a death glare. "I will adopt Daniel Fenton and he will become my son. I have every right being his godfather. The boy suffered far enough for adding a child jail in the equation. What about you, Robert Albert", he spat out the name as if it was a rotten tomato, "you will be hearing from my lawyer soon as from the police either for endangering a traumatized child to a larger trauma while there was a way to avoid it with pleasant consequences. This", he took the will in his hand, "I will be taking with myself. Get ready to be unemployed, Robert. You shall need luck."

With that Vlad Masters disappeared behind his godson's ward door, already getting in contact with his lawyers.

Danny got to his senses only when it was early evening. He opened his eyes to see red with pink, golden and orange stripes sky. The sun was descending being a gold disk smashing its fiery beams of light. The lights in the ward were off, but Danny could see through the window on a left wall that doctors and nurses were still roaming the halls of the hospital.

But something wasn't right. Danny didn't feel anything at the moment. He felt hollow, like nothing was inside him anymore. He remembered his outburst in the morning. How could he not? His archenemy saw his lowest point in life. Danny knew that he must be ashamed of himself, but he couldn't bring himself to feel that way. He just didn't care. He was in grief. His family and friends were gone. And he only cared about the fact that it was his cheating that got them all killed.

"Daniel?"

Danny didn't expect to hear this voice to be so soft and gentle. He couldn't remember a time before the accident at Nasty Burger, which took his family and friends' lives, when that man talked to him like that. It was always a smug tone and authoritative powerful presence, but never such a timid appearance. He turned his head to the window into the hall and found that Vlad Masters was sitting in the chair just next to his bed. Because of the initial drowsiness and man's black suit he didn't notice him earlier. Something in the back of his head shouted at him to run when he locked eyes with the oldest half-ghost, but Danny knew that he wouldn't. Not because he was courageous, but because he really hoped that his arch-enemy would be merciful enough to end his pain and reunite him with his family. After all, Danny had no doubt that Vlad blamed him for the death of the only woman he ever loved and tried so hard to gain the love of.

"Please, do it", Danny mumbled.

Vlad's eyebrows furrowed in concern.

"What are you talking about, Little Badger?"

"Please, kill me" Danny explained, no emotion in his voice, but pain. "Please, I beg you, free me from my misery… I deserve nothing less but death…"

Vlad couldn't describe how hurt he was by the boy's words. He quickly cupped the child's small cheek and gently rubbed the skin.

"No can do, Little Badger. You will stay alive and I will make sure of it."

"So you can gradually kill me?" asked Danny to Vlad's fear with slight hope.

"No…" Vlad breathed out. "My dear boy, oh no!.. You are not the one to blame for what happened. It was an accident. You are not guilty of this."

"But I survived", he cried. "I survived when they didn't. They died when I could save them!"

"You couldn't do anything, Daniel!" Vlad gripped Danny's shoulders tightly, not interrupting their eye contact. "I saw the camera footage from the nearby store. It was all too sudden. You couldn't have known that this spicy sauce was in the boiler. If it was someone's fault, it was 's for not taking a teacher-parent conference in his office like it should have been held."

"B-But… I cheated…"

"Yes, you did, as I know, but it wasn't that big of a deal for Lancer to make such a big problem of it. It was just a test. Only a test. A lot of children cheat on such tests and it is normal. Not appreciated, but normal. Lancer was the one to make such a big deal out of the C.A.T. It all was not your fault. Not your fault, you hear me, child?"

Danny nodded through his tears, only now noticing them.

"It is not your fault", Vlad repeated and then suddenly hugged Danny close. "Not yours, never yours."

To both Vlad's and Danny's surprise Danny didn't push him away. Somehow Danny felt himself safe with Vlad. The warmth radiating from the man made the internally frozen boy more at peace. Maybe it was because of Danny's ice core that he was drawn now to the man's electrical one. Either way, Danny thought, Vlad was the only one he had left, even if he wanted nothing good for him. Surprisingly now after Vlad's behavior this day he was doubting the man's evil motives.

"What will become of me?" asked Danny timidly, voice barely above the whisper. "Will I go to the system?"

"Oh my God, NO!" exclaimed Vlad. "You… Little Badger, you will come with me. I… I am adopting you."

For a couple of seconds freezing silence was held between them.

"Cool", said Danny dryly, drawing back from Vlad right away. "Now you can have your perfect half-ghost son you always wanted", sarcasm was dripping out of his mouth without regret.

"Little Badger, it's not like that. I just want you to be happy."

"Being your evil apprentice and loyal like a lapdog son?" Danny snorted. "No, thank you."

"Daniel", Vlad sitted on the edge of the boy's bed, and Danny moved away from him. Vlad sighed. "Daniel, it is not like you think. I would love you to be a Masters, but I wanted it willingly and definitely not during such circumstances. Yes, formally you will become my son, but you won't have to change your name or call me father. I just want it to be easy for you in life and it will be much easier to accomplish this with you being adopted by me."

"I still don't want to, Frootloop", grambled Danny. "Better in the system than with you."

Anger and resentment grew up in Vlad's heart suddenly when he saw Daniel folding his arms over his chest stubbornly. This insolent child! Vlad was quick to forget what a temper the boy had! What an ungrateful brat he was! Just to think that Vlad pitied him! No, he won't let this whelp insult him!

"This is not something for debate, Daniel, and you have no say in this, really", Vlad said coldly. Danny looked at him defiantly. "Right now I'm collecting the documents for your adoption. When you are ready to leave the hospital, we hold a funeral and right next morning we leave for Wisconsin."

"What?! No!" shouted Danny. "I'm not going with you anywhere! You can't make me!.."

"I presume, this paper says otherwise!"

Vlad held the shit of white paper to the boy, and Danny angrily snatched it out of his hands. He looked through it quickly, and dread started to grace his fast pailing face. He reread the document a few times to grasp the surreal context of it, but when it was finally clear and unmistakable, he shot an infuriated gaze at Vlad.

"It is all your doing! My parents would never do something like that! They loved me, they would never betray me like that!"

"Your parents didn't know about our ghostly… difficulties", said Vlad, taking the will back. "It was your decision, really."

"We had a pact!.."

"Insinuated by you, Daniel. I might have not liked your father, but your mother was a shine in my life and I'm very honored with her trust in me to give your custody up to me in such a tradegious predicament."

"She didn't like you after the Rockies!.."

"I agree that my confession was… improper. But I redeemed myself by saving your life after Pariah's invasion…"

"Caused by you of all people", Danny narrowed his eyes at his presumed godfather. "I nearly died that day because of you!"

Danny expected Vlad to fume, to snap at him, maybe even to slap him, but… Vlad's features got softer and his gaze gentler.

"I know. And, trust me, I'm not proud of it. It wasn't supposed to get that out of hand. I'm sorry, Daniel. I truly am."

Danny scoffed.

"Yeah, right."

Vlad glared at him at an unaccepted apology.

"Anyway it is, this doesn't change anything. As you can see, the will is written in your mother's handwriting and not that long ago, so just accept this fact and move on with it. Moreover, where will you go if not with me? To your wild aunt?" Vlad scoffed. "She didn't care about you when Maddie was around, why would you think she will care now?"

Vlad told the truth, Danny knew this, but it didn't mean that it didn't hurt. Aunt Alicia is a really strange woman. She has no phone, no TV, nothing connected to electricity at all. Danny doubted she even knew about her sister's family death right now.

"I don't need to be cared for, I'm not a kid", said Danny, but his voice wasn't that of a dream of confidence.

Vlad sighed tiredly.

"Daniel, you merely turned fourteen a couple of weeks ago. This is still considered a child. You haven't even graduated middle school yet. You are in need of an adult in your life. I am the adult who's really willing to take care of you."

Danny said nothing. He knew that he was needed by nobody except Vlad. Nobody will ever care about Danny but his arch-enemy. Or maybe now it will be more suitable to call him an ex-arch-enemy. But still. He couldn't believe… After all that happened… After his whole family's death… He is left alone with the Frootloop, just because he is the only man who cared.

"Maybe", Danny thought, "it won't be that much of a pain? Facts are real, nobody wants or needs me except him. And what will I do without him? End up in the system with no opportunity for a brighter future than the one of the Nasty Burger's waiter. Would… Would Mom and Dad want something this bad for me?"

Maybe this was the reason for them to assign custody to Vlad in case of tragedy — so he could help their children to get good in life, with opportunities of studying in expensive great colleges and in the end have a happy life. But Vlad… How will Danny know if he tries to take advantage of his situation? What if Vlad really wanted to lure him in a false sense of security and then brainwash him into being his son?

"He doesn't need to bother", told the rational voice in Danny's head. "He's already having you adopted by him and you can do nothing about it. He was kind enough to let you keep your name and not force you to call him "father", be grateful for that. Otherwise you are already his son. And, after all, do you really think there is some reason to care anymore? You are not wanted in this world. Only he wants you. Maybe it's time to give him a clean slate? He was here when you were in pain, he didn't blame you for what had happened. He was here for you. Just be courteous and be grateful."

Danny sighed. There really weren't a lot of variants, were there?

"Um… okay", Danny whispered. "I… I understand."

Vlad merely nodded his head.

"Then I think everything will be alright, Little Badger", his voice became gentle again. There was a ghost of a sad, but genuine smile on his lips. "I will do everything for you to be comfortable and happy in my household, Daniel. I promise."

Danny looked meekly at Vlad, but then smiled gratefully back.

"Thank you, Uncle Vlad".

Vlad's heart swelled with joy upon hearing Daniel calling him "uncle" without a trace of mockery or sarcasm. It was such an improvement in their relationship and so fast. Maybe in some time he will be able to gain his godson's trust and maybe even love for which he craved so much. But the boy's happiness is his most important priority.

After their conversation, Daniel meekly informed Vlad of his hunger. It wasn't long before the nurse came to his ward with light food for his stomach. Vlad also had some pasta from the hospital cafeteria. During the meal they didn't really speak, but Vlad could sense that slight tension in the room that didn't go away despite his efforts, and he didn't know what else to do to make the situation less awkward.

"What is your home like?" asked Daniel suddenly, lightly stirring chicken broth in his bowl with his spoon.

"Little Badger, you've already been to my castle", answered Vlad with confusion. Danny shook his head.

"No, I mean, what is it like to live there? Especially when no guests are there, when…" he swallowed nervously, "when you're all along?"

"Daniel, I am never exactly alone in my manor", said Vlad. "But I understand why you may think so. You never really met my staff. I have a great butler, his name is John Godfrey, but you may simply call him Godfrey. He is a ghost, but not like one you've already met. Godfrey is a really peaceful one and dutiful. You will have no reason to be scared of him."

"Yeah?" the boy wasn't really persuaded. "Most ghosts hate me", he mumbled sadly.

"Not this one, I assure you, my boy. Moreover, I can tell that he is waiting to formally meet you with great pleasure", Vlad smiled warmly at his ward, and Daniel sent a small smile back himself.

"What is he like?" Danny asked. "Godfrey?"

"Oh, he is strict", Vlad told him seriously. "He is really up to following all pieces of a proper protocol, so he is fond of politeness and good manners. But also he is a very good adviser and а great friend. But know that, my boy, that he won't cover for you, if you mess up", Danny laughed a bit at the phrase. "Also he is one of those beings who admire the effectiveness of the old methods of upbringing. That means he is not the one to not inflict a corporal punishment if nessessary."

Vlad noticed how Danny shuddered at his last statement, and he understood why. In the past the boy was one for mischief and trouble.

"A-and y-you?" Vlad nearly heard him.

"Well… I am also not against physical punishments. As you know I love discipline and sometimes I may see it fit to teach a child a lesson with a ruler or a brush." Daniel shuddered one more time. "But really it is not something you must get yourself worked up with. I'm sure after you settle in, you will not deliberately break the rules. I know you never wanted to be in trouble on purpose."

"Mom and dad often grounded me for missing curfew and for bad grades too", Danny confessed suddenly. "Maybe they thought I was just lazy, like Mr. Lancer told them. Perhaps, I really am to some point, but…" he hung his head and closed his eyes in pain. "I did everything I could to make them proud. It was just… It was too much… to maintain school and ghost hunting. I thought I would manage, but… apparently, I never was meant to."

Vlad pitied the boy. Of course, he knew mostly everything about his life. He had cameras in his house so he could look out for his boy. It wasn't something unusual to see Daniel climb up through his window to his room at three in the morning all battered up after the fight with some ghost. Vlad was always surprised how his parents couldn't notice that their son was always in bruises and with big bags under his eyes from the lack of sleep. They were always at home in their basement, but Vlad never saw them helping Daniel with his homework if he struggled, even after seeing his bad report card. Only Jasmine was eager to assist him. Vlad was certain that the young girl knew her brother's secret about his ghostly activities, but didn't say it one time to him. Vlad saw her album with newspaper clippings on good deeds of Danny Phantom. She was proud of him and at last decided to honor his privacy instead of intruding it.

But that asked for another issue to pop up.

"Daniel, your parents were really proud of you", Vlad said. "When there was a college reunion they told me a lot of good things about you. They were proud."

"Really?" Danny asked dumbfounded. He looked at Vlad with unbelieving eyes. "B-but I thought they always loved Jazz more for her… for her accomplishments", Danny hung his head low once again. He was ashamed that he was jealous of his sister now. It wasn't right at all.

A warm hand found its way on the boy's shoulder and he looked at Vlad, who smiled at him fondly.

"Jasmine was an incredible girl. She was really dutiful and loved to learn. But you never were her, Daniel. You were you. Maybe you didn't have so many medals or such good grades, but you always managed to bring your family back together, and that is the most treasured talent they could ask for their son."

Danny smiled gratefully, tears in his eyes. He never thought Vlad could be so good in heart-to-heart talks. Maybe it was because they shared the same grief and now all the kindness the man hid somewhere underneath his arrogance popped out.

"Thanks, Uncy Vlad."

Vlad gently ruffled Daniel's hair and the boy didn't even back away. So that was how he could win over the boy. With kindness and love. He should have tried this way to bond long ago.

"It is true, Little Badger. You are no less incredible than your sister. You are equally great."

But Vlad quickly became more serious.

"My dear boy, when we are at the manor, you will, of course, be filled in on some ground rules of the household, I think this is acceptable", Danny nodded his head, "but there is a really important question that we must establish. I really ask you not to jump to conclusions and hear me out, okay?"

"Okay, but I already don't like this", Danny said suspiciously. "What is this about?"

"It is about your ghost hunting, Daniel. I know that it is really important to you, but… I must forbid you from this hobby."

"What? Why?"

"Firstly, there are no ghosts in Wisconsin, and we will be living there. Secondly, we will be living in a country which is really far away from the city, so there will be nobody to save. I would call Madison a really peaceful place, if you ask me. Thirdly, your grades and health suffer from this hobby, and I won't let you fail at school anymore, because next fall is your freshman high school year, and your future will depend on your academic performance. And the last part, in some time I will start training you, but not because of my personal need to, but for your health. You need to keep yourself in shape, both in human and ghost forms."

"I don't want to be half-ghost anymore", said Danny suddenly. "Because of these powers I screwed at school and because of that my family and friends are... now gone."

"I understand, Daniel", Vlad sighed and patted the boy's hand, "but if you neglect your ghost half, it will seriously and badly defect your human health. I know this will be hard, but I will train you, because your health is my priority. I hope you understand this. Moreover, I am sure your friends would like you to continue the development of your powers. And… I'm sure your parents will be proud if you did that too."

Danny felt tears streaming silently down his cheeks. Vlad leaned forward as if to hug him, but Danny shook his head.

"No, sorry, I'm… I'm fine. Sorry…"

"Daniel, it is healthy to cry…"

"I… Sorry, uncle Vlad, but I… I'm tired. Do you mind if I go to…"

"Of course, my boy, sure. Go to sleep, Little Badger, sleep tight."

Vlad wanted to help tuck Danny in, but the boy just did that himself, turning to the window outside with his back to his godfather. Vlad sighed sadly, but patted Danny's arm lightly.

"Sweet dreams, Little Badger."

Vlad sent a glance at the boy one more time before leaving the ward. He closed the door softly and leaned against a wall.

"Oh, Maddie… How could that have happened to you?.." he whispered, but then came to the window of Daniel's ward and looked through the glass at the still form of the boy. Moment later he found himself whispering a lullaby he had no idea where came from:

"Sleep, my little Daniel,

Let your dreams take wing,

Someday, when you're big and strong,

You will be the King.

Sleep, my charming Lady,

Make the Heavens shine,

Someday, when I'm old enough,

We'll meet in the sky.

I'll look out for our boy,

You may rest in peace,

Someday, when he's big and strong,

He will bring world peace."

Author'sNote:

Hey, everyone! I hope, you're doing great and enjoying this story

I just must say that I LOVED to write from Vlad's perspective! I find him complex and, of course, obsessed and some kind of crazy, but that's what makes him unique, especially in pursuing his main dream — a family. I think that though Vlad is rough and holds grudges, he still would be much more sympathizing and gentle towards Danny if this scenario of the death of his family and friends would really occur in the original series. I believe he would call off his plots and would just dedicate himself to Danny, to help him move on and live a happy life once more...

Or I'm just being sentimental after writing this lullaby he sings to Danny here

But I'm okay now, okay... I promise

Now, I think that's all for today. Check out my tumblr to see my arts and drawings and have a good day :
