April opened in eyes in shock and confusion. "What?" Casey walked over to the window to close the blinds as Miwa joined him. "You said you did."
"Sorry, April but the Shredder has given us orders," Miwa told her as Casey proceeded to close the windows with the curtains.
"The Shedder? Oroku Saki? But we made a peace treaty years ago. Our fathers..."
"Your father stole his true love away from him! He only agreed to the treaty to protect our clan! He knew it was a losing battle."
"He's been planning this for years..." Casey told her as Miwa grabbed the water pitcher and extinguished the fireplace.
Weakly, April said, "No... stop."
"We originally planned to have both of you fall in love with us then years later, you would die under "mysterious circumstances". However, with the King's ice powers, we had to change it up a bit," Casey told her.
"Since you are already dying, we can use it to our advantage."
"Please... don't do this. I know you aren't like your father, Miwa. Casey, you are a knight, is this even honorable?" April said weakly as she tried to stand up from the couch but failed.
They looked at her sadly but shook it off. They had their orders. "Sorry, April. I have my orders from my king."
"All that's left for us is to kill Leonardo and bring back summer," Miwa told her.
With what strength she had, April looked at the two with anger in her eyes and told them, "You are no match for Leonardo."
"Sorry, April but it seems that you were no match for Leonardo," Casey told her as he kneeled down to face her.
He stood up then he and Miwa left silently leaving April to die in the room.
"No! Don't leave me in here! Miwa, you aren't like your father! Casey, this isn't what knights are supposed to do!" April shouted which Miwa and Casey could hear but they ignored it. The Shredder would kill them if they tried to defy their orders. So, Casey locked the door to the room that April as in then they left her to die. 'Sorry, April. For what it's worth, you really were a good person but we have our orders.
April tried her best to go to the door but it was a difficult trek. She could hardly stand and once she reached the door. She could only whisper, "Please, somebody, help." As her hair got whiter and her heart was getting colder. "Please, please." April curled in herself as she began to lose hope. 'It's hopeless, I'm going to die here and Leo's going to die as well.'
In the main dining area, the servents were chatting among themselves as Dregg was staring out into the frozen New York. "It's getting colder by the minute. If we don't do something soon, we'll all freeze to death." Dregg told them as he walked away from the window.
With solemn looks on their faces, Casey and Miwa walked into the dining area. "Princess Miwa, Sir Casey."
"Princess April is..." Miwa started but couldn't finish the sentence. She felt too much guilt in her heart to speak.
"What happened to her?" Dregg asked as the servents and Lord Dregg surrounded the two. Dregg helped the princess sit in a chair and Casey kneeled by her side.
"She was killed. By King Leonardo."
Everyone but Casey and Miwa gasped in shock. "No! Her own brother."
"At least we got to say our marriage vows... before she died in my arms," Casey told them with sadness in his voice.
"There can be no doubt now. King Leonardo is a monster, and we are all in grave danger," Dregg told them.
"Sir Casey, sorry, Prince Casey," Casey looked up to the servant. "New York looks to you."
"With a heavy heart, I charge King Leonardo of New York with treason. And sentence him to death."
Leo looked out to the frozen New York in terror and guilt. 'This is all my fault.' He suddenly heard a cracking sound around me as saw that the prison cell that he was in was starting to freeze over. 'No, nonononono. Not now.' Leo then noticed that his shackles froze over as well then proceeded to try to free himself.
"Hurry up!"
"He's dangerous."
"Move quickly."
"Careful."
'Oh no! I've got to escape!' Leo tried harder to escape as he heard the guards talking.
"It won't open!"
"It's frozen shut."
"Put your back into it!"
The cell started to freeze over even more until it collapsed in on itself. The guards came in with Casey behind them but Leo was gone. 'No. If the king is alive, then it will be bad. He could want to fight back once we take over the kingdom.'
Donnie and Chompy were leaving New York to go back home and to the ice business but neither was happy about it. Chompy was lagging behind but he stopped to look back to New York then he rushed in front of Donnie. He growled and snorted at him. "What is it, buddy?" Chompy forced Donnie to back up. "Hey, watch it. What's wrong with you?" Chompy grunted, growled, and snorted at him. "I don't understand you when you talk like that, Chompy."
Donnie tried to walk around Chompy but he picked up Donnie with his head and tried to walk back to New York with him. "Hey! Stop! Put me down!" Chompy threw Donnie in the snow and growled at him once more. "No, Chompy! We're not going back." Donnie dusted the snow off his pants as Chompy growled at him once more. "She's with her true love." Chompy looked at him with a deadpanned face. He didn't believe a word Donnie said.
Donnie sighed. 'I want to be with April. She's funny, weird, and a little crazy. Really crazy, but she has a big heart and an adventurous spirit.' The wind suddenly got stronger causing Donnie to look back at the kingdom. "What the...?" He looked back and said a strong winter storm forming in the middle of the ocean near the coast. "April."
Donnie ran as fast as he could to go help April with Chompy following from behind. He caught up with Donnie and he jumped on the alien turtle's back as the two rushed to save April. 'Please be okay, April. Please.'
April was still near the door and was getting colder as time moved forward. She looked at the ceiling and saw ice crystals forming overhead. 'Leo. It's getting worse, but I can't move.' The door started to rattle and April tried to get up but she could barely move. "Help," April said weakly but her voice barely rose above a whisper.
The door opened to reveal a stick in the lock. Mikey then grabbed his arm and put it back where it belong. He walked into the room happily but gasped when he saw April on the ground. "April. Oh, no." He saw that the fire was out and proceeded to put wood in it. His arm fell into the pile as well but he managed to get it back. Mikey lit a match and April watched the scene in horror.
"Mikey."
Mikey gasped once the fireplace was lit. "Mikey. Get away from there."
"Whoa! So, this is heat. Is this helps make the pizzas? I love it!" Mikey got close but his hand caught on fire. "Ooh! But don't touch it." Mikey put the fire out quickly then ran to April to bring her closer to the fire. Once they were at the fire, Mikey asked, "So, where's Casey? What happened to your kiss?"
"I was wrong about him. It wasn't true love," April told him with sadness in her voice.
"But we ran all the way here."
"Please, Mikey, you can't stay here. You'll melt," April pleaded.
"I am not leaving until we find some other act of true love to save you." Mikey sat down behind her and asked, "Do you happen to have any ideas?"
"I don't even know what love is."
"That's okay, I do." Mikey stood up tried to cover her to keep her warm. "Love is... putting someone else needs before yours. Like, you know, how Donnie brought you back here to Casey and left you forever. Or like eating a slice of pizza for the first time."
April gasped in shock at the realization. "Donnie loves me?"
Mikey's eyes widened in sick and he stood in front of her. "Wow, you really don't know anything about love, do you?" Mikey's face started to melt as his mask started to slip off of his face.
"Mikey, you're melting."
"Some people are worth melting for." April and Mikey smiled at each other but then Mikey's face proceeded to melt even more. "Just maybe not right this second, I still need to eat some pizza." The window blasted open with a strong wind making April colder. "Hold on, I've got it." Mikey ran to the window and tried to close it. "We're gonna get through... Oh, wait." Mikey broke off an icicle and looked through it like a telescope. "Hang on, I'm getting something." He gasped at the sight. Donnie and Chompy were running back to New York. "It's Donnie and Chompy! They're coming back this way."
"They... they are?"
"Wow! He's really moving fast." He looked back at April. "I guess I was wrong. I guess Donnie doesn't love you enough to leave you behind."
April then had a realization. "Mikey, help me up. Please." April tried to stand up but Mikey ran over to make her sit. "No, no, no! You need to stay by the fire and keep warm."
"I need to get to Donnie."
"Why?" It took a few seconds, Mikey gasped. "Oh, I know why! There's your act of true love right there! Riding across the fjords like a valiant, pungent alien turtle king! Okay, that's weird to think about. One's a turtle and the other is an alien turtle but that sentence makes me wonder if it could get confusing." Mikey helped April stand up and grabbed her arm. "Come on!" Icicles started forming quickly and were growing bigger. April and Mikey fled the castle as the icicles grew in intensity. Icicles soon blocked the path both ways. "Uh... back this way." They turned but there was no escape. "We're trapped."
Leo ran through the blizzard as fast as he could but he could barely keep his balance due to the strong winds. 'I've got to get out of here. It's the only way to keep New York safe.'
April and Mikey broke the window to escape and Mikey almost fell out but April caught him just in time. New York was covered in a mountain of snow. It was like it was winter but worse, it was a snowmageddon. (Yes, I am from Texas, yes the snow was awesome since we don't get it often but it also sucked.)
"Slide, April!" They slide down the rooftops and Mikey's body grew into a big snowball. "We made it." Mikey shook the snow off quickly than the two ran to find Donnie. "Go, go, go, go, go, go!
Chompy jumped over a rock, across the frozen ocean, and into the growing blizzard. It was hard but the two preserved through it. "Come on, buddy, faster!"
April and Mikey made it to the ocean but the blizzard was growing in intensity.
"Donnie!"
The wind blew Mikey into pieces and away from April. "Keep going!"
April kept moving forward to find Donnie and warn Leo. "Donnie!"
On the other side, Chompy was running as fast as he could. "Come on!" The ships were starting to break the ice but Chompy managed to jump over the broken ice.
April was walking across the ice slowly but the storm was getting worse and April was getting colder, her hands were starting to turn into ice but she continued to move forward.
Chompy kept running but ships were falling down and one nearly crushed Chompy and Donnie. they managed to get through it but the ice started to crack over the ocean. 'This is bad, if anyone is one this, they'll fall into the water and die.'
The ice cracked so much the water was exposed and the jump was too much for Chompy to make. Once Chompy jumped on a lone clump of ice, he threw Donnie to a more structured frozen part of the ocean. "Chompy! Chompy!" He looked out into the cold ocean to find Chompy but no luck. Suddenly Chompy came up and got onto a floating ice cube. 'Oh thank goodness.'
"Okay. Good boy." Donnie held out his hands to make Chompy stay put then he ran out to find April. 'I'll help you soon, Chompy. I need to find April first.'
April was walking as fast as she could but started to slow down as her body started to freeze over. The ice in her heart was getting worse. "Donnie."
Donnie stopped in his tracks as he heard his name faintly. "April..."
Miwa and Casey were approaching Leo as he was trying to find a way out of the storm. He tried to run away but Miwa shouted, "Leo! You can't run from this!"
"Just take care of my sister, Casey."
Leo was about to run away but stopped when Casey said, "Your sister? She returned from the mountain weak and cold. She said that you froze her heart."
"No..."
"Casey tried to save her, but it was too late. Her skin was ice. Her hair turned white."
"Your sister is dead. Because of you," Casey told him.
"No." Leo could hardly keep his footing until he fell to the ground. The blizzard stopped as Leo started to cry. 'April. I'm so sorry, I couldn't protect you. This is all my fault. I'm so sorry.'
APril was frozen in her tracks, she could barely move. She noticed that the blizzard stopped and saw Donnie frantically searching for her. "Donnie."
Donnie saw her standing just a few yards from her. "April!"
Donnie ran to her as fast as he could and April tried to walk closer to him but heard a sword unsheathing. She saw Casey and Miwa by her brother with a katana in Casey's hand. "Leo?" April looked at Donnie who was just a few feet from her. 'Sorry, Donnie.' With what strength she had left, she ran to her brother.
Donnie stopped and looked at her in shock. 'April?'
Casey was about to kill Leo but April ran in front of him to stop the attack but she was frozen solid in the process. Breaking Casey's katana and knocking Miwa and Casey back. Her final breath could be seen through the cold air. (TBH, I may not be the biggest fan of this movie now but when I saw this in theaters in 2013, it brought chills to my spine to see Anna's last breath and it still brought chills when writing this chapter.)
Leo heard the shockwave and saw his sister frozen solid behind him. "APRIL!" He stood up and ran in front of her. "Oh. April!" He put his hand on her cheek. "No, no! Please, no." He hugged his frozen sister and cried. 'NO! This is all my fault. I'll never learn to control my powers and I killed my sister. My last living family. What have I done?'
"April?" Mikey asked as he walked up to the pair. Donnie was also nearby and was frozen in shock. 'April, we were so close, I... I could have saved you.' Chompy also joined after getting off the lone ice. The kingdom looked on at the siblings in sadness. They bowed their heads at the death of their princess.
No one noticed at first, but the ice around April's heart started to melt as she turned back into herself. Mikey gasped when he noticed it then Chompy got Donnie's attention when he noticed it.
April gasped when she returned to normal and Leo looked at his sister in shock. "April?" They hugged each other as if they had never hugged before. "Oh, Leo."
"You sacrificed yourself for me?" Leo asked her.
"I love you," She told him.
Mikey gasped at the realization. "An act of true love will thaw a frozen heart."
"Love will thaw," Leo said out loud to himself then realized maybe that was what he missed. "Love. Of course."
"Leo?"
"Love!"
April looked around her as all the ice and snow around them started to go away. Chompy tried to each a snowflake as he flew up into the air. A ship started to rise from the ice as all of New York was free from the ice and snow. The people of New York were amazed at the sight as their water started to flow again and the flowers were back in bloom. All of the ice formed a giant snowflake in the sky and Leo had it fly all over, making it disappear forever.
"I knew you could it," April told him as she put a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Hands down, this is the best day of my life. And, quite possibly, the last." Mikey started to melt but Leo qas quick to help him. "Oh, Mikey! Hang on, little guy."
Leo used his powers to rebuild Mikey but also give him a small cloud of snow. Mikey gasped in excitement about it. "My own personal flurry!"
Casey and Miwa groaned as they stood up. Donnie was about to beat up the pair but April stopped him. "Wait." She walked over to the pair.
"April?" Miwa said in shock.
"But she froze your heart."
"Yes, but the only frozen heart is the Shredder's. Casey, I know you may not love me, and I'm still getting used to the idea of it, but... I can tell that you love Miwa."
"What? I'm a knight, she's a princess."
"Yeah, we can't be together. It's not meant to be."
"You're wrong. It is. I've seen the way you two look at each other. The Shredder shouldn't keep you two apart."
The two looked at each other in silence then proceeded to hold hands. "We... we won't be able to go home. The Shredder will bring an army, he kill us both."
"Not if you can convince your people that the Shredder does not deserve to be king. Miwa, once you are queen, you can banish Shredder. I have heard about his illness. I choose to not bring it up as I had a feeling that it would not be the right time," Leo said as he walked right by his sister. "You two need to confront him."
They looked at each other and nodded. "Okay. My father's illness will soon take over him. The last time the doctors checked him, they said he would die within six months or so." (Yes, I am making this up as I go. Fight me. I don't think Casey deserves to be like Hans.)
"We'll be here to support you."
Leo and April hugged each other again and April smiled at Donnie and Chompy. 'I knew I could do it.'
Later on, everyone from the various kingdoms were able to leave. Casey and April looked ahead with fear in their stomach. "Casey, are you sure we'll be okay? My father..."
Casey kissed her on the lips and the pair closed their eyes as they leaned in. "Miwa..." He put his hand on her cheek. "We'll be fine. I'm going to protect you. I promise."
"GOONGALA!"
"This is unacceptable!" Lord Dregg shouted as the New York guards lead him back to his ship. "I am a victim of fear. I've been traumatized. Ah, my neck hurts. Is there a doctor that I could see?" Dregg stammered a bit then shouted. "I demand to see the king!"
"Oh, I have a message from the king." Honeycutt opened a scroll and told him, "New York will henceforth and forever no longer do business of any sort with Brit-ane."
"Britain! It's Britain!" The guards forced Lord Dregg onto his ship.
"Come on, come on, come on!" April dragged Donnie through New York.
"Okay, okay, here I come." Donnie was blindfolded and April dragged him into a pole. "Pole."
"Whoops! Sorry." April grabbed Donnie again and luckily, it wasn't that much farther. "Okay, okay. Here we are. Oh!" She removed his blindfold to reveal a new sled, ukulele, and Chompy wearing a new medallion. "I owe you a sled." Chompy walked over to the sled and rubbed the sled to show it off.
Donnie looked at the sled in shock. "Are you serious?"
"YES! And it's the latest model!"
"No. I can't accept this."
"You have to. No returns. No exchanges. King's orders. He's named you the Official New York Ice Master and Deliverer."
"What? That's not a thing," Donnie said, not believing her.
"Oh, sure it is. And it even has a cup holder. Do you like it?"
"Like it? I love it!" Donnie picked April up and spun her around in happiness. "I could kiss you!" Donnie put her down then said, "I could. I mean, I'd like to. I'd..." He stammered a bit. "May I? We me. I mean, may we? Wait, what?"
April kissed him on the cheek. "We may." Donnie then kissed April on the lips.
"Summer!" Mikey then walked past a pizza shop that said Antonio's. Mikey gasped. "PIZZA!" Antonio walked out with a fresh pepperoni pizza. "Here, one pepperoni pizza paid for by the king himself." Mikey gasped then ate the pizza and the box it came in whole. His eyes widened in shock as he brain blew up. He burped loudly then said, "That's the best thing I've ever had. I need more!"
"Coming right up, the king has told me to let you eat all the pizza you want."
"All right! BOOYAKASHA!"
Back at the castle, everyone in the kingdom was in the main square. "Are you ready?" Leo asked them.
Everyone cheered then Leo stomped on the ground and ice began to spread all over the ground. Leo even froze the water from the fountain to make a beautiful ice sculpture. He shot some ice in the sky to have snowflakes come down. Instead of being afraid, everyone was skating on the ice and having fun.
April was having trouble keeping her balance on her shoes but Leo caught her. "I like the open gates."
"We are never closing them again."
Leo used his powers to give her ice skates. "Oh, Leo, they're beautiful, but you know I don't skate."
Leo rolled his eyes playfully. "Come on! You can do it!"Leo helped his sister skate and they both were giggling as they were having fun.
"Look out! Alien turtle coming through."
"I got it, I got it. I don't got it, I don't got it."
"Hey, guys!" Mikey said as he came in.
"That's it, Mikey," Leo told him.
"Glide and pivot. Glide and pivot."
That's it. And yes, fight me about the Casey and Miwa shipping, I didn't want to make Casey like Hans since Casey is a good person. So, I said this before but I will not be doing the sequel, I have no interest in doing it at all. If you want to do it, please ask TMNT Loving Leo the Second since this is their original story.
