Side note Dusk=Saliva {narrator speaking}
{It had been a day since Dusk had joined Ash and Dawn and Brock and Dawn were making an attempt to capture her first pokemon but…}
Dawn and Piplup face off against a buneary ready to make their first capture.
"Buneary" cried the rabbit pokemon
"This time for sure Dawn go for it. We believe in you lady Dawn" Ash and Dusk cheered her on wanting to see her succeed as Brock, Pikachu and Togekiss sat on (or in togekiss case floated above) nearby rock watching.
"Alright, here we go," Dawn said as she was about to throw her pokeball, however it was still small.
"Wait! You need to make the pokeball bigger first." Dawn realizing what Ash said "Huh?" in panic tried to expand the ball but in her haste she loses her grip on it and tries to quickly get her grip back on it as it swaps between her hands.
"Lady Dawn you mustn't panic, you need to stay calm or Buneary will run away," Dusk called out.
"Quick Dawn before it gets away" Ash trying to warn her.
"All right, I'm ready now." As Dawn finally gets a firm grip on her pokeball and expands it with a determined look on her face."Let's go pokeball! As she throws the ball with all her might but because that had lost her grip too early resulting in the pokeball not heading toward the buneary but instead to ash.
"Ahh!" Ash said as the pokeball hit him knocking him to the ground.
"Oops sorry Ash." Dawn apologized Feeling regret for hitting him with a pokeball.
"Sir Ash! Are you ok?" Dusk asked, in worry.
"I'm fine." Ash grunted as he got up. "But I think Dawn needs to watch where she's throwing!"
"It was accident and maybe if you weren't yelling at me my hand wouldn't had slipped,"
"Please don't fight, it was an accident and nothing to get upset about." Dusk trying to stop the fight.
"You weren't doing it right!" Ash countered ignoring what she said.
"Look don't you get nasty with me!" Dawn yells back, also ignoring Dusk's plea for peace.
"Just get it together and we wouldn't be having this talk." Ash counter's with two absorbed in their fight.
Brock and Pikachu had anime sweat going with togekiss feeling uncomfortable with the fighting showing nervous look and Dusk seeing her efforts being ignored gets somewhat depressed as she lowers her head
Piplup looked uncomfortable with the argument until he noticed the Bunarey was hopping away as he tried to get Dawn's attention.
"Piplup piplup piplup!" Desperately try get everyone attention
"Lady Dawn, Sir Ash Bunarey had just gotten away," having looked back up, Dusk saw that Bunarey had jumped into a nearby bush.
Ash and Dawn looked to see that Bunarey was indeed gone. "Buneary!" both the trainer and coordinator shouted.
"Well I hope you're happy now!" Dawn yells at Ash, frustrated losing the buneary.
" Don't look at me!" Ash yelled back equally frustrated.
"Why not? It's your fault," Dawn countered getting in Ash's face.
"You're yapping scared Bunarey away," Ash remarked, getting in her face.
As two continue to argue with others mostly sighing at the sight of the two fighting with Dusk looking at the two concerned with how easily the argument happened.
{As like any journey there will be bumps along the way but the question is will this one be a small one along the road or a massive hole that could end their journey together before it truly begins?}
Later the gang were walking along the trail, however Ash and Dawn were still arguing. Brock, Pikachu and Dusk were unsure how to stop the argument.
"'Just great I could have a Buneary. If it weren't for a certain big mouth." Dawn said, looking away from ash having facing to left.
"Oh yeah, well I can catch a Buneary in spite of your big mouth, along with any other pokemon," Ash said facing right.
Dusk just shook her head as she drowned out their argument, wondering how this could have gotten so blown out of proportion, in truth Ash was the more experienced and he had been through more regions, and Dawn was only a beginner who had just started her journey. Right now she thinks they need to put it behind them and try to work on Dawn's skills.
Until she hears Brock yell snapping her out her thoughts "You're both hurting my ears!"
Suddenly the sky began to bright up, getting their attention.
"What's that?" Ash forgetting about the argument
"Pretty" like Ash Dawn focusing on the beauty of what is happening in front of them.
"That is called Sunny Day, it powers up fire type moves, on top of weakening water moves, even influencing moves that can draw their power from the sun like a solar beam making the move pretty versatile depending on how you want to use it" Dusk explained.
"She's right, you are well informed on Pokemon moves," Brock told Dusk.
"Why thank you Sir Brock," Dusk smiled.
"All of a sudden I feel happier," Dawn said with a smile.
Just then a pokemon had walked up to them, the pokemon was a short pokemon with an outer green body with a yellow certain face with what appears to be it's arm's entwine above it's head with dark green clover shape below its face.
"Who's that?" Ash asked as he took out his pokedex.
"It's so cute," Dawn commented with a smile.
"It's a Budew," Dusk said.
"Budew, the Bud Pokémon. In winter, it keeps its bud closed to survive the cold, but then opens it again in the spring." Ash's Pokedex informed them.
"I wonder if this is where that Sunny Day came from?" Brock questioned.
"It was. Harder words but reflect heart and hearts let the sunny day something for when your heart is light your mood is Happy bright tell me don't you feel better now?" The mysterious asked with a grace that even impressed Dusk.
Ash and Dawn looked at each other, then they chuckled nervously. "Yeah, you're right," Ash and Dawn admitted.
"As it should," the mysterious stranger said. who was wearing a green button up shirt, with a green cloak that was held in place by a red gem which was also connected to a light blue ribbon, (? Not fully sure on what the blue part is, do you know?) He had tan pants and black boots. He had on a green hat with a brim going around his head which also showed his long black part which covered his one eye, in his arm's with a golden harp that was designed to incorporate mews tail appearance with tail forming the harp up part to connect the strings.
"Thanks my name's Ash." Ash introduced himself. " Pik Pikachu." With his partner also introducing himself
"My name's Dawn," Dawn said.
"And I'm Brock," Brock greeted.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, my name's Dusk," Dusk greeted politely.
"And I am the pokemon Bard Nando," Nado introduced himself. "This is my Budew, we travel the world and bring joy to all."
"Awesome." Ash said. Impressed by what Nando does.
"That is a very Noble goal sir Nando." Dusk said amazed by his dedication to bring joy to others.
"You must have a great time," Brock smirked.
"I got it Ash, now I can show you how strong I've gotten," Dawn said.
"How?" Ash asked.
"Nado, would you mind battling with me?" Dawn asked.
"If that pleases you," Nado smiled, agreeing to battle.
"Are you sure about this? it'll be your first battle with a trainer," Ash asked, wondering if Dawn was ready.
"Yes, and you only have Piplup which is a water type, Budew is a grass type meaning you will be at a type disadvantage." Dusk added.
"Don't worry about me, I will be fine." Dawn said confidently, determined to show them she is stronger than they think she is.
"Dawn, are you by any chance on a quest to win the sinnoh league?" Nando asked her curiously.
"No, I am aiming to win the grand festival." Dawn said to him.
"I see, so a contest battle it is. There is a clearing up head that will be perfect for our needs." Nando told them
"Great," Dawn said excited to have her contest battle with Nando
As Nando began to lead the group to the clearing, Team Rocket poked their head out of the nearby bushes watching as the group headed to the clearing.
"That's the new twerp, but it looks like she multiplied," James said, seeing the double of the new twerp (Dusk).
"Yeah, it's like seeing double, could she be a twin sister or something?" Meowth asked, wondering where this new twerp came from.
"Forget about that, the one who sprung pikachu has a lot of nerve thinking she can win contests." Jesse said clearly angry from hearing Dawn wanting to win the Grand festival.
"Like you?" James retorted.
"Snap out of it," Meowth agreed with him.
"Hey I'll snap you!" Jesse threatens them which two know she can back up that threat having seen strength first hand. "Only one diva wins the next contest this one!" Jesse said proudly before she breaks into laughter confident she will win the 'contest' that is happening.
"Diva is right," Both James and Meowth sighed.
"Wobba," Wobbafet said
"Mime, mime," Mimi Jr appeared mimicking Wobbafet's actions.
The group had arrived at the clearing, Dawn and Nando stood on their respective sides of the field while the others stood off on the side of the battle field.
Dawn then pulls out Piplup's pokeball and expands it "k first thing first my Pokemon has to make a gorgeous entrance. All right then piplup spotlight" As Dawn winds up and throws piplup pokeball and it opens releasing him to face off with bedew. "Piplup Piplup."
"You may have the first move Dawn," Nando offered.
"Thanks. Alright we are fighting a grass type so let us use flying type attack, piplup use peck." Piplup charge's toward Bedew with his beak cover in energy ready to hit grass type with.
"Please dodge it." Bedew" bedew waiting just at the last moment to avoid the piplup peak by jumping.
"What happened?!" Dawn called out in shock.
Saliva watched on, she could already imagine the two point bars and with Bedew not only dodging Piplup peak but also using the moment of the jump to do a flip that would have cost Dawn at least a few points.
"That's fast," Ash caught of guard by how fast bedew was
"Please bullet seed." Bedew while still high in the air fires off multiple small energy blasts the size of seed's at piplup.
"Bullet seed is a grass type move which could give a water type like piplup big problems." Said Brock hoping Dawn will have piplup dodge it as seed's fires start closing in on piplup.
"Piplup dodge," Dawn called.
On Dawn's command Piplup dodged the attack but not in a way that would have cost Nando many if any points unlike how Bedew dodged Piplup peck in Dusk's opinion this battle is definitely not going in Dawn's favor.
"Alright it's my turn, now Piplup use BubbleBeam," Dawn called out.
Piplup begen to fire multiple bubbles at Bedew which hit making a smoke cloud around Bedew concealing the grass type.
"All right." Dawn said thinking she landed a good hit on Bedew only for Nando to laugh a little.
"Heh," Nando giggled.
"Huh?" Dawn uttered confusedly.
Then Bedew spun, dissipating the smoke cloud before landing on the ground while doing spin, making the remaining smoke around Bedew to be removed in a way that many would consider beautiful.
"But how? That was a direct hit?" Dawn not understanding how bedew wasn't effect by the attack
"That wasn't that strong," Ash said.
"That's right, Lady Dawn should know that even if it's a direct hit water type moves have little effect on grass types unless power gap is incredibly large which in this case it's not. Worst still since this is a contest battle not only would attack take very little off of Nando point meter but how Nando use smoke cloud piplup create to show off the grace of Bedew that would cost lady Dawn a fair chunk of her points putting her down to less than half of her remaining points minimal." Dusk explained.
"Bedew absorbed the attack on purpose, and then made that big jump brilliant, It even used the smoke from the explosion, " Brock said, impressed by Nando and Badew's skills..
"Solar beam if you please" Nando asked as Bedew began charging for a solar beam.
'I know the Solar beam takes some time to fully charge and fire making this perfect chance to land a big hit.' "Piplup use peak now." Piplup then charges again at Bedew with peak ready.
Dusk looks at Bedew knowing what's about to happen as even before Piplup could get a few feet Bedew finished charging the solar beam, shocking Dawn and Piplup
'it's over' Dusk thought.
"Uh-oh." Dawn knows Piplup can't dodge in time.
"Please fire now." Nando asks with his eyes closed knowing the battle is over. Bedew then fires a powerful beam of energy which heads straight for Piplup who could only stare as it heads straight for him and Hits.
"No Piplup!" Dawn cries as Piplup was sent flying from the solar beam before landing on the ground knocked out.
"Piplup my Piplup!" Dawn whimpered before taking him in her arms.
"I believe our battle is done," Nando said.
"Badew," Badew agreed.
"But how did they charge Solar beam so fast?" Dawn questioned not understanding how he almost instantly fired the Solar beam.
"Lady Dawn, remember sunny day is still in effect and remember when I mentioned earlier that sunny day can effect moves like solar beam well when you use solar beam, when sunny day is in effect solar beam doesn't need to charge since the sun is in clear view making sunlight strong, giving the pokemon more energy to gather. Also sunny day doesn't just affect fire moves." Dusk starts explaining to dawn.
"What else does Sunny Day do?" Dawn wondered what else could Sunny Day do.
"See while Sunny Day can strengthen fire type moves it also weakens other types in this case water type moves like bubble beam are weakened too meaning it had no effect on Badew especially with it being a Grass Type," Dusk finished explaining.
"I see," Dawn said, before looking down at her partner. "I'm sorry Piplup."
"Piplup, Piplup," Piplup replied.
"Dawn, I wouldn't have guessed it was your first battle, you were quite good." Nando complimented.
'It was a good start, but if this was a contest Dawn wouldn't have made it through to palimnaries,' Dusk thought. She hated to think that but after seeing dozens of contests it was clear Dawn had a long way to go to reach her goal.
"Wow, such a nice thing to say thank you." Dawn appreciates the compliment from Nando.
"You can be sure it was a good experience. Those two really know how to battle." Brock says impressed by how in sync they were.
"Yeah, no doubt," Ash said, turning to Dawn. "And it'll make you stronger,"
"Yeah," Dawn nodded.
"You both are incredible, I've seen many contests on TV, and I say you and Badew would definitely be the top 5 best i've seen," Dusk complimented.
"Thank you Dusk, I believe it's time I took off best of luck." As Nando went his way as the group watched him off, though unknown to them they were being watched by Team Rocket hiding in bushes behind them.
"Oh please, she's a twerp alright, I could whoop that Wimp with my eye's closed." Jesse boasted.
"If that's true, then just do it," James told her.
"Yeah, don't talk the talk, walk the walk." Meowth agreed.
"In good time but first there's a Pikachu that needs nabing." Jesse said as they prepared their newest plan to get Pikachu.
Dusk looked behind them, as Team Rocket ducked behind the bushes. Being trained to use all her senses when in the wild she felt like they were being watched. 'What was that?' Dusk asked herself as she stared at the bush.
"Is something wrong Dusk?" Ash asked her.
"No, nothing is wrong," Dusk answered, shaking her head as she joins them as they head off with Team Rocket releasing a sigh of relief at not being caught.
Time passed and the sun began to set, as the team made their way through the forest. Brock was looking through his guide book, while Ash, and Dusk looked at their surroundings but Dawn was still depressed with all that had happened today.
"Aw man, I can't catch a pokemon and I lost my first battle," Dawn said in a sad tone, feeling discouraged from her losses.
"Don't be sad Dawn, you're still new so it'll take time for get better, trust me I was a terrible trainer when I started out," Ash said, remembering how bad he was at the start of his journey through Kanto looking back Ash realized he had just winging it he didn't know anything type advantages or anything starting out and how he got half his badges was not in typical way.
"You were really that bad?" Dawn asked curiously.
"Yep, I also made some pretty poor decisions that didn't make my journey easier for me like sleeping in on the day I was supposed to get my start pokemon though I will never regret that because that is how I met Pikachu." Ash said with a smile as he looked at Pikachu.
"That's nice to hear Sir Ash, you and Pikachu are a very good team." Dusk commented.
"Well, we didn't get along at first, Pikachu didn't like me and wouldn't listen to what I said, and he wouldn't even go back inside his pokeball, when I wanted to catch a pidgey I threw a rock as at Spearow," Ash admitted.
"You threw a rock at a Spearow?" Dawn asked.
"How rude Sir Ash." Dusk uttered
"Yeah and also very stupid of me to do looking back since Pikachu didn't listen to me which given how I was acting toward him I don't blame him but the situation got worse since that Spearow wasn't a ordinary one but a flock leader that start to chase me and Pikachu with it's flock. Despite the mess I made Pikachu risk his own life to draw the Spearow's attention away from me and nearly killed him." Ash told them as he looks down can't help but feel some shame when thinking back.
"Pika, Pikachu," Pikachu said, patting Ash's head, meaning Pikachu has already forgiven him for what happened.
Ash smiled. "Thank buddy, anyway along the way with Pikachu getting injured I carried him away, and then I had met Misty and I kinda stole her bike, and when the flock caught up with us. I told Pikachu to save himself and then the Spearows dived to attack me but then Pikachu had jumped in the way and used his thunder shock and defeated all of them, and from that day on me and Pikachu began our journey to becoming best friends."
"Woah! That is very cool Ash." Dawn said, surprised by how Ash's journey had really begun.
"That was very interesting Sir Ash but if you don't mind me asking did you give Lady Misty her bike back?" Dusk asked since he didn't mention returning it.
"Well…" Ash uttered, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. "It kinda got fried by Pikachu's electricity when he used his thunder shock to protect me."
"Just like my bike!" Dawn exclaimed, remembering what Pikachu did to her bike.
"Yeah… but I bought her a new one when our journey in Johto was over." Ash said.
"Don't forget about May's bike too " Brock smirked, reminding him.
"Oh yeah, how could I forget," Ash admitted, he is still saving up the money to buy her a new bike.
"My word, do you or Pikachu have something against girl's bikes?" Dusk asked before giggling a little.
Ash shook his head. "No, it's some weird coincidences, but to tell you the truth if Pikachu didn't fry them I wouldn't have met either Misty or May and I can add Dawn to the list too," now realizing that he would have to buy Dawn a new bike as well.
"Well thank you Ash," Dawn smiled, happy that she had met Ash too. If not she would be lost without him or Brock and Dusk help.
Dusk couldn't help but smile when seeing Ash and Dawn not only being friendly to each other again after the buneary incident but they seem even closer now and she can't help but respect Ash for not only acknowledging his mistakes but clearly learned from them 'though I probably shouldn't get a bike when I'm traveling with him'. They walked for a couple of more minutes until they heard a rustle in the trees.
"What's that?" Dusk asked.
They looked up to see a lone Pigdey hopping along the ground and successfully pulled out a worm which it began munching on. The Pidgey had cream colored feathers on its chest and ends of its wing's, brown feathers on its back and tail feathers and pink beak and legs.
"It's a Pidgey," Ash said.
"A Pidgey?" Dusk said to herself, as she took out her Pokeslate and began to scan it .
"Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. A Normal and Flying type. Pidgey usually doesn't like to battle, but it won't hesitate to attack if provoked." Dusk's Pokeslate stated.
"It's so cute," Dawn smiled.
"I think I'll catch it." Dusk said she would need more pokemon for her journey and what better to start with than a Pidgey.
"Yeah, go for it," Ash said.
"Hmm," Brock nodded.
"All right, good luck Dusk." Dawn said, cheering her on.
The Pidgey who had taken notice of them after finishing its worm had taken flight ready for battle "Pidgey Pidgey!" Said toward Dusk challenging her.
"Ok, let's go Togekiss Time to Shine!" Dusk shouted and threw her pokeball into the air and in a flash of white light Togekiss appeared doing a loop the loop in the air before flying straight.
"Kiss Togekiss." Togekiss said
"Nice entrance Dusk." Dawn commented, she admired Togekiss's elegance and grace. She knew that both Dusk and Togekiss had to have practiced a lot to get that routine right.
"Thank you Lady Dawn," Dusk smiled.. "Now Togekiss, use Fairy Wind!"
Togekiss then flapped her wings sending a blast of pink wind at the Pidgey who struggled to not lose its balance.
"Pi Pi Pidgey." After the fairy wind had died down, Pidgey went on the attack, it began to flap its wings creating a small tornado.
"That's Gust," Brock said. Unlike Pidgey,Togekiss isn't having as much trouble maneuvering though the winds Pidgey was creating then Pidgey was the wind Togekiss created.
"Use Aura Sphere," Dusk called out.
Togekiss then fired a blue sphere created between her wings after waiting for a few moments for a gap in the winds letting her land a direct hit.
Pigdey had fallen to the ground with a hard thud, it weakly got to its feet and it flapped its wings rising up about 6 feet off the group.
"That's a tough Pidgey, it will be a great addition to Dusk's team," Ash said.
"Yeah," Dawn nodded.
"Pidgey!" Pidgey chirped before it started charging at togekiss But what surprised them was that Pigdey looked like it was on fire for a bit before it changed to blue for a mere second before it went back to normal, stopped and flew in place exhausted from whatever it just did.
"What was that?" Dawn asked, confused.
"I think that was Brave Bird," Brock answered. "But it looked incomplete."
"A Pidgey can learn a move like that?" Ash ask
"Actually no, Pidgey can't learn the move. But it can get the move as an egg move which is inherent from one of its fathers". Brock explained.
"And Brave Bird, causes recoil when it is used," Dusk added, knowing about the move. "That's why it's more exhausted than before, even an incomplete Brave Bird recoiling can be draining specially to first form flying type," Dusk said, now getting concerned for the Pidgey.
"Dusk, it's weak enough you should be able to catch it," Ash told her.
Dusk nodded and reached into her bag and pulled out a greatball. "Go Great Ball!" Dusk shouted as she tossed the Great Ball at Pidgey who was too exhausted to dodge and it hit, opened and pulled the pidgey inside before landing on the ground.
Dusk stared at the Great Ball as it shook a few times before it stopped and chimed, she smirked as she walked up to the Great Ball and picked it up. "Alright I caught a Pidgey," Dusk cheered.
"Togekiss!" Togekiss cheered happily.
"Nice catch Dusk," Ash congratulated Dusk.
"Thanks Sir Ash," Dusk smiled.
Dawn was happy Dusk had caught the Pidgey but it made her a little depressed. Dusk made it look so easy to catch a pokemon on her first try but she herself had been struggling with every attempt she tried, making her lower her head out of shame.
"Are you ok Lady Dawn?" Dusk asked in a worried tone, noticing her friend's sadden expression.
"I'm sorry Dusk you just made it seem so effortless to catch a pokemon. Look at me I'm complaining about you successfully catching your first pokemon. I'm the worst aren't I?"
Dusk shook her head. "No you're not Lady Dawn, I understand that you want to catch a pokemon but you need to be patient. I'm sure there are alot of trainers who have a bad start just like you but if you keep working on it you'll catch a pokemon soon enough."
"She's right, if you rush you might miss a pokemon who could have become a lifelong friend without realizing it." Ash said having the experience to know what Dusk is saying is very true.
Dawn looked at them and realized they were right, all she had been doing was rushing things and had caused her to miss a chance to catch the Buneary but also her battle with Nando she had rushed into battle without thinking and she couldn't do a thing against him other then make his Bedew look better then her piplup
"Dusk you've watched tons of contests right? What did you think of my performance today?" Dawn asked Dusk.
"To be 100 percent honest you would have been eliminated before the Solar Beam was fired with all your points gone. An important part of contests that differs them from standard battle's is how you use your opponents moves to your advantage to bring out the grace and beauty of your own pokemon. Remember how Nando use your attacks to put the focus on his Bedew when came to his dodging your peak at last second and use that moment to not only accomplish a flip but be able fire his bullet seed from above or how he intentionally allowed your bubble beam since he knew damage would only be minimal at best and use the smoke cloud your attack created to show his Bedew grace now what did you do in response to his bullet seed attack?" Dusk asked Dawn
"I told Piplup to dodge it." Dawn answered not quite getting what Dusk was trying to tell her.
"Yes but in a fairly ordinary way, fine for normal battle but in a contest it will stick out and not in a good way. That ultimately was your problem. You were just too straight forward having Piplup just charge straight forward with a peak or fire a simple bubble beam without trying to catch the audience's attention. In any way you treat the situation as a simple battle rather than contest. If that's the case you're better off trying to take on the Sinnoh League then going for the Grand Festival,"
"Oh man, I guess I still have a long way to go," Dawn admitted with a sad smile.
"But don't worry Lady Dawn, all you need to do is practice and be patient, soon it will come naturally to you and Piplup without really thinking about it." Dusk said.
"Thanks Dusk, it's almost like having a sister picking me up," Dawn laughed.
"You're welcome." Dusk smiled.
"It's going to be dark soon," Brock said while looking into his guide. "Luckily there's a pokemon center not far from where we are."
"Really? I get to be in a real bed, finally I can join civilization again," Dawn cheered.
"And I can get Pidgey some medical attention, it did take a lot of damage in our battle," Dusk started looking at Pidgey's Great Ball.
"Alright, Bonsly let's go!" Brock called out as he throws his pokeball into the air and in a flash of white light releasing his bonsly who he catches in his hands. Bonsly was a small, round and mostly brown colored pokemon with three round balls at the top of his head and resembled a club from a card game she played with her parents when she was younger and the Bonsly had three yellow dots two of which were over his eyes.
"Bonsly." Cried the pokemon
"Guess what Bonsly, we're going to a pokemon center so we can get you checked up," Brock told his pokemon as he calmly continued to walk forward as Ash and Pikachu just stared at him as if waiting for something to happen.
"Sir Ash, is something wrong?" Dusk asked.
"Yeah. you had a similar reaction back at the pokemon center in sandgem town. is there something we are missing?" Dawn asked
"It's just knowing Brock for so long, he usually flirts with most women he meets their are exceptions like some previous people we traveled with like may, misty and few others but for the most part he usually falls head over heels for women he just meets but I haven't seen him do it once since we met up and I'm starting get concerned for him." Ash told them as he looked at Brock concerned.
"While I find it odd Sir Brock would act like that maybe he found someone who?" Dusk finds it hard to believe Sir Brock would be such a flirt.
"Your talking to the guy who traveled with him for four years, and seen him flirt with countless woman most of all nurse joy and officer jenny," Ash replied.
"Pika, Pi," Pikachu nodded in agreement.
"Wait sec what do you mean by most of all nurse joy and officer jenny?" Dawn questions wondering if there could really be multiple nurse joys and office Jenny's.
"I don't know?" Ash shrugged. "I've seen so many of them, I've stopped trying to figure it out in Johto."
"That doesn't answer my question." Dawn said
"What are you three whispering about?" Brock asked, confused.
"Nothing Brock," Ash answered, deciding to drop the subject. "So you brought Bonsly, but I noticed you don't appear to have marshtomp, ludicolo or forretress. did you decide to leave them back home?"
"Yup. the only other pokemon I brought besides Bonsly is Geodude."
"So that's a Bonsly?" Dawn said as she used her Pokedex to scan him.
"Bonsly the bonsai pokemon being a rock type it can get weak if its body contains too much water so it secretes that water from both sides of its body to regularize it." The Pokedex explained
"So I'm imagining them with your siblings back in Kanto right?" Ash asked.
"Right there finding their place in the pewter City gym my mom had specially taken a liking to them especially ludicolo." Brock remembers how his mom and ludicolo bonded very quickly for the short time he stayed back home before making the journey to sinnoh.
"Excuse me, but correct if I'm wrong but did you just say the pewter City gym Sir Brock are you related to the gym leader there?" Dusk asked.
"Actually Brock used to be the Gym Leader before he decided to tag along with me and Misty, in fact misty was a gym leader herself too." Ash explained to the two.
"You traveled with Two Gym Leaders?" Dawn asked in surprise.
"Yeah, even May and her little brother Max are kids of a Gym Leader," Ash said.
"Whoa, you have traveled with many interesting people, Ash." Dawn was impressed.
"She is right Sir Ash." Which is made even more impressive since he can add princess to that list.
Not long after they had arrived at the Pokemon Center, Dusk was surprised by the pokemon center being the first time she had been in one since she had run away from home. "Good evening Nurse Joy, would you mind checking out pokemon?" Dusk asked.
Good evening to you as well and that would be no problem." Nurse Joy said she took Dusk, Dawn and Ash respective poke balls and great ball.
For Ash he looked at Brock who wasn't even attempting to flirt with Nurse Joy like he used to but he was actually tame with her.
"Hold on, are you from sandgem town?" Dawn asked, wondering how she could be here if she was supposed to be in sandgem town.
"Not me, the Nurse Joy from Sandgem down is my sister." Nurse Joy answered.
"Sister really?" Dawn said,
"They must be twins then right?" Dusk asked.
"Here," Brock said, holding up a picture and the sight shocked them.
"There's that many Nurse Joys?" Dawn said anime was sweating going down the back of her head.
"That's not counting one's from Kanto, Orange Islands, Johto and hoenn." Ash added.
"Now I think I'm getting what you meant back there Sir Ash." Dusk said not to say she hasn't heard of large families but this is ridiculous. 'Wait then why aren't there any male Joys?' in a large family like that there had to be a few male members, but Dusk decided to drop it before her brain short circuited.
"Would you mind checking in on my Bonsly and Geodude nurse joy?" Brock asked in a normal voice, not a hint of flirt.
Ash just looked at Brock he wasn't down right flirting at all, no hand holding, no constantly talking about Nurse Joy's beauty or anything heck he wasn't going on about how wonderful many Nurse Joy's there are Ash doesn't know if he should have Brock receive a check up or not.
"This is just surreal to see Pikachu?" Ash said to his partner.
"Pik." Pikachu said back agreeing.
'If Misty, May or Max were here they would be as shocked and confused as me,' Ash thought, knowing that all his past companions would think the same thing about Brock's sudden change in behavior.
While their pokemon were getting treated, Dawn decided to call her mom, while Brock was going to make his own call on the private phone, Dawn had called her mom Joahanna who was relieved to know her daughter won't be alone in her travels. But she was surprised to see that her little girl had found her twin sister (as she called her specially given her name)
"I certainly appreciate that you two and your friend are looking after my Dawn, she can be a bit of a handful," Joahanna said.
"No I'm not," Dawn replied feeling a little embarrassed.
"Lady Dawn didn't cause any trouble." Dusk said.
"Yeah, none at all," Ash said, thinking back to when Dawn had hit him in the face with a pokeball.
"Come on mom, there's nothing to worry about." Trying to convince her mom she is fine.
"When you tell me there is nothing to worry about, that's when I worry the most." Joahanna said without hesitation, which causes her to feel embarrassed by how little faith her mother has in her."don't forget I'm counter you two and your friend."
"We won't," Ash and Dusk smirked.
"Then you all have a great time, and Ash lots of luck in your gym battles and Dusk I hope you find out what you want to do." Joahanna smiled waving to them before the video call ended.
Dawn put her hands on her hips and sighed. "Oh mom, what a mom." wondering if calling her was really a good idea.
"I think your mom is very sweet Lady Dawn, she reminds me of my mother," Dusk smirked, that made her wonder what her mother was doing and how her leaving could be affecting her and her father.
"Hey guys sorry if I kept you waiting." Brock said as walk to over to them having finished talking to whomever he called.
"Not at all Sir Brock and if you do not mind me asking who did you call, was it your family?" Dusk legitimately curious who he talked to.
"I had to make an important call to umm I look it's nurse joy!" Brock got embarrassed and started stuttering and trying to change the conversation.
"Oh Ash by the way have you registered for the Sinnoh League yet?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Oh yeah, that's right I forget," Ash said completely forgot to register at sandgem town because of his encounter with Paul.
"Not yet is right." Dawn said, wondering how Ash could forget to do something that important.
"Will that be a major problem, Lady Joy?"(I think that lady nurse joy might be too long what do you think?) Wondering if he had to register at a specific location.
"If he doesn't register he won't be allowed to compete and challenge gym leaders Lucky that you're allowed to register at any established pokemon center." Nurse Joy said.
Ash handed her his pokedex, and Nurse Joy inserted it into the computer slot and began to type on it, the computer then showed the pokemon Ash currently had on him.
"Now let's see where Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town." As she finished typing the last bit of information in and the computer logs him in to compete.
"That's all there is to it," Nurse Joy said, taking Ash's pokedex out of the slot then giving it back to him. "You're all set to go,"
"Thanks Nurse Joy," Ash smiled as he took his pokedex back.
"Can I register for pokemon contests here?" Dawn asked. "I'm a coordinator,"
"You need to do that at the arena so you can get passes there as well." Nurse Joy explained to her.
"Really? Thanks," Dawn said.
"What about you Dusk, are you going to register for the Sinnoh League?" Nurse Joy asked.
"Well… I'm not really sure, I want to do contests but I'm not sure on that either," Dusk answered honestly.
"That's fine if you decide to compete in either just go to a pokemon center or arena respectively and they can sign you up to do either." Told her with a smile.
"Thank you Lady Joy." Dusk politely said while bowing.
"Nurse Joy." a voice called out.
The group turned to where the voice was coming from to see three trainer's and their respective Pokemon: a Turtwig, Chimchar and a larger penguin like pokemon.
"Woah, It's a Turwig, Chimchar, and would you look at that," Dawn said in excitement at seeing the three starters, especially the one that was the evolved form of her Piplup. "Isn't a Prinplup doesn't it evolve from Piplup?" Dawn asked.
The Prinplup was medium size pokemon fairly larger than its previous evolution size with it's lower body being a light blue with four white ovals on its stomach, ends of its fins and around it's eye's the upper body was a dark shade of blue navy that also covered it's arm's and it's feet being same color gold as it's previous evolution along with its peak and two gold ridges that extended from the peak and met back up around nape of its neck.
"Yeah, it just evolved yesterday," the girl answered.
Dawn took out her pokedex and began to scan Prinplup. "Prinplup, the Penguin Pokémon, and the evolved form of Piplup. A strike of its wings can be harmful as it searches the oceans for prey." Dawn's pokedex explained.
"Wow" Dawn was impressed by Piplup's evolution.
"Dawn," A familiar voice spoke.
Dawn saw the source of the voice, it was Nando. "Nando what a surprised,"
Nando smiled. "Yes it is, a pleasant one,"
Just then Nurse Joy walked out with Nando's Badew who was now fully healed. "Here you go," Nurse Joy said, putting Badew on the counter. "Your Badew is now at 100%,"
"I am in your debt," Nando smiled, taking Badew in his arms.
"Are you staying here for the night Sir Nando?" Dusk asked.
"No, there are several things I need to ponder elsewhere. I bid you all good evening." Nando said before walking out of the center.
"What's he pondering?" Ash couldn't help but ask aloud.
"Nando divides his interests equally between gym battle's and contests. I think he is trying to decide between the two." Nurse Joy said
'Sir Nando is like me,' Dusk thought, like her Nando was split between Gym Battles and Contests for paper. She wanted to do contests but she also found Gym Battles appealing, but she couldn't figure it out. Back home she was trained by some of best battlers in the world, she and Togekiss had grown strong from those battle and when they had time to themselves, they would watch Contests amazed by the beauty and grace of both trainer and pokemon along with each being insync with other and it gave her the idea to incorporate the battle skills she had learned into her contest style. But even so she was still divided, unable to decide what she wanted to do..
"He should focus on gym battles; his Bedew is incredibly strong." Ash said believe that gym battles would be his best option.
"No way, it's contests he really knew how to show off his Badew," Dawn said
"The Gyms are the way." Ash said glaring at Dawn.
"He should do Contests," Dawn countered.
"I think both ways are good." Dusk said, voicing her opinion trying to avoid them having another fight.
"The Gyms," Ash yelled.
"Contests," Dawn countered.
Nurse Joy had sweat falling down her forehead, as Ash and Dawn continued to argue.
"Maybe we sure just let Nando decide for himself." Ash said
"That's fine." Dawn said back.
"That would be a good idea so we can ask him what he chose in the morning."Dusk said hoping they would stop their argument only to see them running out of the pokemon center after grabbing their respective Pokeballs that were on the counter.
"Here we go." Brock said, rubbing the back of his head.
"Why must they be so impulsive?" Dusk sighed, Ash and Dawn may have been her friends but they had argued a bit too much with each other and now they had ran out in the middle of the night.
"We should follow them." Brock told Dusk.
"Agreed," Dusk nodded.
"Thank you for caring for our pokemon Lady Joy" She thank the nurse Joey as she and Brock grabbed their respective Pokeballs and ran after Ash and Dawn before they got too far ahead of them.
The group had begun to search for Nando, but it seemed that he had vanished. After a couple of minutes they had stopped.
"There's no sign of Nando," Dawn frowned.
Just then both Ash's Starly and Dusk's Togekiss and newly captured Pidgey flew towards them as they landed on a rock.
"Any luck Starly?" Ash asked.
"Starly," Starly shook her head.
"How about you, Togekiss and Pidgey?" Dusk asked her flying type pokemon.
"Pidgey," Pidgey shook his head.
"Togekiss," Togekiss shook her head.
"It's all right you both did your best." Dusk said as she gave them a sad smile knowing the situation they are in now.
"If he was here, Starly, Pidgey or Togekiss would have spotted him." Brock said.
"Unless he is in an area that can't be easily seen in the Dark." Dusk empathizes the last word to highlight the problem and hint to the mistake the two made.
"That's right, I should have thought of that," Ash admitted. Before returning starly to her pokeball.
Dusk also returned both Togekiss and Pidgey to their respective pokeball and great ball.
"Sorry Dawn, we have to set up camp for tonight," Ash said.
"What! We can't head back to the pokemon center." Dawn exclaimed she was excited to actually sleep in a bed.
"It'll be morning by the time we get there, Lady Dawn," Dusk said, clearly annoyed. "You and Sir Ash should have known this was possible since it was already so dark out, why I suggested we wait till morning before searching for Sir Nando and we could have gotten a good night sleep at the poke center if you two thought before acting." Dusk told them with clear disappointment in her voice.
Ash and Dawn lowered their heads in shame, knowing that Dusk was absolutely right. "Right," Ash and Dawn said.
"Worry not, we got four warm beds you could use. Yes, what you need is what we got." As group heard the voice's turn around to see a man and woman wearing green kimonos both had black hair was wearing glasses each." The rickety roof inn." The two presents a inn that she swore that wasn't their before
" How did that get there?" Dusk didn't remember an inn being there before frowning looking at the building.
" An inn in the forest?" Ash was suspicious looking at the building.
"We love consumers, it's people we can't stand." The woman said as she and the walked closer to the group. "But since you don't fit either you can stay for free." The man said as he and the woman got closer and closer to the group.
Hearing that dawn perk up actually excited at the idea of getting to sleep in an actual bed while the others were finding the situation odd, especially with where they are.
"Really." Dawn said excitedly
Dusk looks at the two firmly before asking " how are we neither consumer's or people and why would that let us stay for free?" Her guard completely up as her hand slowly moves to togekisses pokeball.
"She does have a point," Brock pointed out.
"Um, we barely get customers out here, and we were hoping you staying here for free will allow you to spread word about us, when you leave" the man quickly explained.
"Yes, we are so remote we wish for you to spread the word after your stay for the night," the woman said.
"Then why aren't there even one sign in the entire forest telling people about your inn if your need of customers is that bad or why didn't hear a single wird about a inn at poke center surly if lady joy knew she be more then willing to tell trainer's about your inn specially if help trainers who decide not to stay at the poke center?" Bring up how what they said didn't make sense as she is now grasping togekiss pokeball ready to call her out if needed be.
"Well you see it's umm we." The two stutter as they try to think of something to say as Ash and Dawn take some steps away from the two with Dawn no longer excited but suspicious like the others.
"Who are you two really?" Dusk demanded, holding her Togekiss's pokeball.
"Will you just shut up!" yells a small man who suddenly appeared wearing the same kimono as the other two carrying a box but had the face of a Meowth?
"Is that a talking Meowth?" Dusk asked in shock, she had never heard of a talking Pokemon outside of the Chatot species even then that species case they more mimics what they hear. And it is standing on its hindlegs too.
Realizing their cover was blown the two humans began to giggle and decided to drop the act, before they revealed their true identities to be Team Rocket.
"Prepare for trouble." Jesse smirked.
"Make it double." James said.
"To protect the world from devastation "
"To unite all people within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jesse."
"James."
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light,"
"Surrender or prepare for a fight,"
"Meowth that right!"
"Team Rocket!" Ash, Dawn and Brock shouted, annoyed at seeing them again. While Dusk just stared at them wondering if this really was the Team Rocket she had been taught to steer clear of in her opinion they seemed more goofy than an actual threat.
Before anyone could act a strong gust of wind by causing the 'building' to shake before it falls over, covering them in a dust cloud.
"I told you to build a hotel, not a movie set and couldn't you make one sign." Jesse criticizes Meowth for his work.
"Let's see what you build with only 2 bucks. Besides how I was supposed to know the new twerp was going to ask so many questions?" Meowth said back
"And she seems to be smarter than the average twerpette," James remarked.
"Hey!" Dawn yelled angered by the insult they said about her even if she admits that Dusk is more informed then her.
"So this Team Rocket?" Dusk asked the others. "No offense, they don't look so intimidating." She saw Pokemon in their first form more intimidating than them.
"What did you say?!" Jesse shouted, completely enraged by what Dusk had said. "We're very intimidating you like brat,"
James then took a pokeball out. "Carnivine time to play!" James shouted, he then threw the pokeball and in a flash of light Carnivine appeared but was gnawing on James head. "I said time to play, not time to bite!" James shouted trying to Carnivine off him.
"What's that?" Ash asked, not recognizing the new pokemon.
"looks like they got a new pokemon," Brock said.
"It's a Carnivine." Dusk told them, taking out her pokeslate and it began to scan. "Carnivine, the Bug Catcher Pokémon. Carnivine latches onto trees in marshes and lures its prey with its sweet-smelling saliva."
" I got this one." Dawn wanting some pay back for the insult as she readies Piplup pokeball.
"Wait Lady Dawn, that isn't a good idea." Dusk said.
But it was too late with Dawn releasing Piplup. "Piplup use bubble beam."
"Piplup." Said as he fired multiple bubble's at the team rocket.
Carnivine jumped off of James head and opened his mouth and caught all the bubbles in its jaw and he ate them. Piplup landed on his feet was shocked by what had happened.
"Pip Piplup?" Piplup gasped in shock
"Bubble Beams gone?!" Dawn gasped in shock as well.
"Water moves have little effect on grass types Dawn," Brock said.
"Lucky for us, bite for you." James said as carnivine charge's at piplup ready to take bite out him.
"Piplup." Dawn said worried for her pokemon.
"I can't just do nothing." Dusk thought as she grabbed one of her Pokeballs. "Pidgey Time to Shine!" Dusk shouted as she threw the Pidgey's great ball into the air and in a flash of golden orange light Pigdey appeared ready to battle.
"Pi Pidgey." As Pidgey takes flight " Pidgey, use Tackle to push carnivine back." Dusk said
Pidgey charged at Carnivine at a fast speed and slammed into grass, forcing it away from piplup.
Dawn sighed and turned to Dusk. "Thanks for the save," Dawn smiled.
"No problem." Dusk smirked.
"Why you Carnavive, use bite again!" James called out.
"Carnivine!" Carnivine called out as it charged at Pidgey.
"Pidgey gets low to the ground and waits for my word." Dusk said, surprising everyone with what she said.
"Dusk what are you doing?" Dawn question not getting why she was leaving Pidgey vulnerable; wouldn't it make more sense to have been high in the air out of carnavive reach?
Although confused Pidgey got low to the ground just barely flying above it as the carnivine got closer.
"Looks like this twerp isn't that smart after all." Jesse taunted.
'Not yet, not yet now!' Dusk thought as Carnivine as fully committed to bite "Now Pidgey dodge to left then use sand attack." Dusk said as Pidgey moved to left just avoiding carnivine bite while quickly following up by using it's wing's launch sand into the carnivin's eyes.
"Carn Carn Carnivine." Cried desperately trying to get the sting sand out of its eyes.
"Hey you can't use a dirty trick like that only we can!" Meowth yelled.
"If you don't like that? Then you will hate our next trick, use Gust!" Dusk shouted.
Pidgey began to flap his wings, until he generated a small tornado that swept up, Canavine spun him around in it a few time before it went over to the rest of Team Rocket and sucked them up they all spun around a few times before they were launched into the air.
"I hate new Twerps!" Jesse shouted.
"I hate little birds!" Meowth said.
"I hate having big green biting headaches!" James said, while Canavine was biting on his head.
"We're blasting off again!" They all shouted as they flew towards the moon and a small flash appeared as they disappeared from sight.
"Pidgey!" Pidgey chirped in victory before landing on her shoulder.
"Great job Pidgey, you did amazing for your first real battle." Dusk smirked at her new pokemon, she petted him. Until the realization of what happened hit her. "But we may have gone a little too far. I think we might have killed them." She said feeling a little regret over the possibility of killing them.
"Don't worry, Team Rocket always bounces back from blast offs." Ash told her, although not in a good way. "We'll see them again,"
"Does this happen all the time?" Dusk wondered how they could survive such falls repeatedly.
"At this point I lost track of how many times that they were sent flying but it got to be over 100 at this point." Brock said
"Really that much?" Dawn and Dusk asked at the same time, both shocked by how many times Ash, Brock and their past traveling companions had encountered Team Rocket and sent them flying away.
Suddenly they heard the sound of a harp, they turned to see the source of the music. They saw Nando who stepped out of the treeline with Badew at his side. "I'm glad to see you are alright."
"Nando," Ash and Dawn said.
"I was going to have Badew jump in, but I can see we weren't needed." Nando smiled.
"Badew," Badew agreed.
"I must thank you Dusk for getting rid of them for disturbing the forest's peace."
"You are quite welcome Sir Nando," Dusk bowed. "But it wasn't me, my new friend Pidgey did all the work,"
"Pidgey," Pidgey said, his chest puffed out.
"Don't be too modest. I saw that trick you did by keeping Pidgey close to the ground so the carnivine head would be lower and then allowing the carnivine to get so close that when you had Pidgey dodge and follow up with a sand attack there would be no time to react." Point out Dusk strategy she used.
"Yes, you shouldn't sell yourself short both you and Pidgey were awesome," Ash smirked.
"Yeah, and if it were for you and Pidgey, me and Piplup would be in trouble," Dawn admitted.
"Piplup," Piplup nodded in agreement.
"Though we didn't come out to stop Team Rocket, we came to look for you." Ash said.
"Me why?" Nando asked.
Some time passed, and they were now sitting in front of a campfire. With them now comfortable they explained to Nanao about why they came looking for him.
"What you said is true, I am torn between whether I should do Contests or Gym Battles." Nando confirmed.
"But Bedew is so strong, just perfect for gym battles." Ash said.
"No way Budew moves were made for contest battles." Dawn said.
"If I enter the sinnoh league I need to win battles in each of eight gym locations which gives me 8 badges. On the other hand in order to appear in the grand festival I have to win contest in each of five arenas which would give me five ribbons
"With how strong Badew is, Gym Battles are the way," Ash smirked.
"No way, Contests are the way to go," Dawn said.
"Gym Battles!" Ash shouted glaring at Dawn.
"Contests!" Dawn shouted and glared back at Ash.
"Gym Battles! Contests! Gym Battles! Contests!" The two continued to shout at each having forgotten that it's Nando's decision and Dusk has had enough.
"You two be quiet now!" Dusk yelled at them as she stood up.
Both Ash and Dawn stopped arguing before turning to Dusk who had an annoyed look on her face.
"Now it's fine if you want to offer your opinion on what Nando could do but you can't tell him what he has to do. It's his decision what he wants to do, he wants to be." Dusk realizes she let her feeling's slip though so she takes a breath to calm down before she continues. "You both yelling what you want him to do doesn't help him so why don't be quiet and listen to what he wants." She then sits back down having finished saying her peace.
"Now that you are done fighting, we can now listen to the forest sing," Nando smiled.
"Sing?" Dawn asked, confused.
Just then, they began to hear the sound of many pokemon filling the forest, each adding their voice together to create a beautiful song. From Kikecetos, Bunary's to Bermies, ghost pokemon and to those in the water the sounds of their song echoed throughout the forest.
"All the forest pokemon are singing at once." Dawn smiled in awe.
"It's beautiful," Dusk smiled, it reminded her of home sometimes before she started training her parents would take her out at night into the forest and they would look at the stars and listen to the pokemon sing.
"The forest really does sing." Brock said being moved by the song.
"It's gorgeous. I never noticed it before, now I always hear it." Dawn said.
"Yeah, maybe sleeping outside isn't so bad afterall right?" Ash stated.
"Yeah." Dawn nodded. "I'm sorry Ash," she apologized for getting his attention.
"Huh?" Ash asked.
"All the complaining I've been doing I guess things haven't been going so good for me and I've been taking it all out on you." Dawn said truly regretful for her actions.
Ash then smiled. "It's alright Dawn, like I said before I wasn't the best either when I started out. And to tell you the truth I haven't been doing a good job teaching you either," Ash admitted, realizing he could be doing better when it came to teaching Dawn, then he was.
"Also I owe you an apology to Dusk you were trying to help but I ignored you." Ash said to her regret for his actions toward her.
"Me too, I'm very sorry." Dawn apologized, also regretting her actions as well.
Dusk smiled. "I forgive you two, and it's all in the past now," she could see that friends argue from time to time, but in the end they are still friends and now they forgive each other.
"Remember when I told you about when me and Pikachu were running from the flock of Spearows?" Ash asked.
"Yes." Dawn nodded.
"After Pikachu used his thundershock, I saw a pokemon flying over a rainbow. And I'm sure it was a Ho-oh," Ash said.
"You saw Ho-Oh?" Dusk asked in surprise. "It's said that when you see a Ho-Oh it's a sign you are destined to do great things," Remembering what her pokemon teacher told her about the Legendary Pokemon.
"Really? That's so cool, maybe that's what I saw," Dawn smiled.
"Really?" Ash asked.
"Back at Lake Variety, I thought I saw a pokemon but it was hard to see." Dawn stated.
'Could she be talking about the legendary pokemon Mespret?' Dusk thought to herself, she had heard of the three lake guardians and their connection to Dialga, Palkia and the pokemon connection to the legend she grew up with.
"Think of the pokemon out there, there are so many, wonderful and strange." Dawn smiled thinking about the many pokemon out in the word.
"What is usually hidden you now have the eyes which to see the forest song allows it to be a gift for you and me." As Nando says his rhymes he plays his harp along: side as he continues. "Let our hearts be grateful that the mysterious world of night pokemon shows itself ever so selfishly."
Ash suddenly stood up. "Nando I would to battle you too,"
"The honor would be all mine," Nando smiled.
"But that can wait till morning. I think we can all agree we could all use a good night's sleep." Dusk said and everyone nodded in agreement.
The next day came fast, and the group were well rested for Ash and Nando's battle. The two stood in a clearing, Nando going with his Badew and Ash Pikachu. Dusk was confused, she would have thought Ash would go with Starly since she would have type advantage and Budew will resist Pikachu electric attacks making him probably be the worst pokemon to face Budew that Sir Ash has.
Dusk also looks up seeing the sun shining brightly meaning Budew Solar Beam will be able take full advantage of that Sir Ash will have to be careful of that if he doesn't want the battle to end the same way as it did for Lady Dawn.
"Don't you think this is abit mismatched?" Dusk asked.
"Don't worry about it, one of Ash's best strengths is that he is able to adapt to anything that comes his way, plus Pikachu has few trick's of his own." Brock said knowing that one worst mistake you can make when facing Ash is underestimating him and Pikachu.
"I'm ready when you are Nando." Ash called out to him.
"The honor is yours Ash," Nando called back.
"Alright Pikachu, use Quick Attack!" Ash shouted.
Pikachu then rushed at Badew with great speed.
"Budew bullet seed if you please." Nando asked ad Budew fire seed's at Pikachu.
But Pikachu jumped over the seeds as he continued on and rammed into Budew with his quick attack.
"Wow, a clean hit." Dawn said excited by Ash and Pikachu landing the first hit.
"Impressive agility." Dusk said impressed by Pikachu's ability to react and move while using a quick attack.
"Please Mega Drain," Nando told Budew.
"Budew," Budew called out, before she generated a green energy field which was sent toward Pikachu, it engulfed Pikachu sending him spiraling up into the air.
"Pikachu!" Ash called out that I'm worried.
Before turning red and letting him go and he fell to the ground, the energy was then absorbed back into Budew who was now healed from some of the damage it had just received. "Budew." Budew smiled, feeling better.
"How did Budew heal?" Dawn asked, confused.
"Mega Drain, not only causes damage but that same damage is absorbed back into the user healing their injuries," Dusk answered.
"Pikachu get up, and uses thunderbolt quick." Ash said to his partner who gets back up and launches a thunderbolt at Budew.
The attack hit Budew hard, sending her skittering back, creating a trail of dust behind.
'Wow I know Pikachu has already been through a lot but still damage his thunderbolt did despite Budew being resistant to it. I'm starting to understand why those Team Rocket members were following after Ash and Pikachu still doesn't make it right though.' Dusk thought.
Bedew's eye showed a look of determination despite the damage she took. "Bedew!" she shouted, as she suddenly began to glow white.
"What's this?" Nando asked calmly.
"What's wrong with Bedew?" Dawn asked.
"Nothing, it's evolving," Brock answered.
As the light vanished reveal Budew new form now having larger body with limbs her main body had two light two green legs, arms lower half of her face, a big leaf cover front of her body with a yellow line going down it with rest being a standard green along with leaves on her shoulders and the upper part of her head including the the spikes on top of her head and on the end of her arms were roses that acted as hands with one being pure red in color and other blue.
"Roselia," the newly evolved pokemon called out.
"Roselia? Budew evolves into Roselia?" Ash asked in surprise, not knowing that Roselia had a pre-evolution.
"Pika." Pikachu agreed.
"Awesome, I've never seen that before." Dawn said in awe.
"It's cute." Dusk smiled.
"An interesting development to say the least. Roselia Sunny Day please."
"Roselia." Said as she gathered energy in her hands and fired it into the sky making the sun shine even brighter than before.
"Now if you would please Solar Beam." Nando asked.
"Sir Ash, be careful." Dusk called out, knowing Solar Bean would likely take Pikachu out if it hit directly.
"Pikachu, let's go!" Ash called out.
Pikachu rushed towards Roselia, just then Nando called out. "Fire please." and Roselia then fires off her Solar Beam which heads straight for Pikachu.
"Jump and dodge it." Ash said Pikachu did jump up right before Solar Beam could hit him, causing the force of the explosion to send Pikachu high up in the air while taking minimal damage.
'He used the explosion to gain elevation,' Dusk thought to herself, it was clever of Sir Ash and Pikachu to gain elevation.
"Roselia." Said as she and Nando are shocked by how Pikachu was able to avoid Solar Beam but also use the force of their attack to get high in the air.
"Now Pikachu use iron tail." Pikachu gather energy into his tail as he starts turning to put more force into hit blow and then hits Roselia, sending her to the ground and knocking her out.
"No Roselia," Nando said.
"Roselia," Roselia uttered while on the ground
"That's the end," Nando admitted with a sad smile. "It seems we lost,"
"That means we won," Ash smiled.
"Pika, Pika," Pikachu cheered, holding up his arm in victory.
Nando picked up Roselia in his arms. "You did great, you deserve a good rest," he said before returning Roselia into her pokeball. He then rose to his feet.
"Now Ash, Dawn I offer my thanks," Nando said. "I now know what I must do,"
"You're going for the Sinnoh League right?" Ash asked.
"You're aiming for the Grand Festival?" Dawn asked.
"I've decided to do both," Nando answered.
"Huh?" both Ash and Dawn uttered looking at each other.
"You're really planning to do both?" Dusk asked, slightly confused.
"I enjoyed battling you both, so much I couldn't dream of giving up either" Nando answered. "Also Gym Battles help my pokemon gain more battle experience, while contests will help me and my pokemon become closer and become more in sync with each other and will be able adapt better strategies." Nando explained.
This caught Dusk's attention, what Nando said reminded her of the battle experience her Togekiss had gained with each training session back home and they were able to adapt those teachings into her contest skills. She was now able to see what Nando means by doing both and would make him a better trainer.
"So for now I bid you farewell till we meet again."Nando said, giving them his farewell for now.
"Right, till we meet again." Ash smiled.
"See you next time Nando," Dawn said.
"Sir Nando I must thank you, you've helped me make up my mind as well." Dusk said now knowing what she will do.
{No matter what path you take, facing gym leaders or taking to the stage of a contest, if it is what you love the journey will be worth it and you might discover your own path to do what you love.}
A/N:i hope you all love this chapter, and I know you are probably surprised that Saliva had caught her first pokemon all ready and how she was able to see through Team Rocket's plan and I did their old motto cause of Nostalgia and I think it was the best one and her strategies won the battle, also you all noticed that Brock isn't flirting with Nurse Joy and immediately dodge the question when the others asked, I wonder why? But you'll have to wait to find out in the next chapter, also Dusk had been critical with Dawn's performance against Nando which helps Dawn see the complete difference Gym Battles and Contest and Ash admitting to how bad he was when he started out, giving both girls a deep dive into what he has done on his journey, also it seemed Dusk has made up her mind thanks to Nando so she will be doing both Contests and Gyms thanks to both SkylanderZilla and Sandshrew Master for their help. Now I will turn it over to my second co-writer, Sandshrew Master, to explain more.
1st Sandshrew Co-A/N: high good see you guys again so like miracle said their were quite many differences compared to the original episode like team rocket different outfits for their fake inn except see more of those when comes to their really bad disguises this done to help keep characters from seem dumb or too gullible. Also Incase we weren't clear enough in last chapter the age locks were removed from characters so Ash isn't eternally 10 he is 14 close to 15 and Dawn 14. Finally, don't expect too much romance between Ash, Dawn and Dusk/Saliva until after the first gym since until then we will be focused on building a bond between the three. I hope you all enjoy it and are excited for more.
2nd SkylanderZilla Co-writer: I hope you enjoy what choice Salvia chooses for herself. We've also had Dusk/Salvia catch her first pokemon. A Pidgey. Keep reading to find out what will happen next.
