"We are ready to go for the performance round of the Jubilife City pokemon contest so let's give a big hand to our first coordinator from twin leaf town Dawn." Said the announcer
Dawn in what appears to be in the Jubilife City contest arena wearing a simple but beautiful green dress as spotlight shines on her as she holds up piplup pokeball.
"Piplup, here we go spotlight." Then she throws his pokeball high up in the air and releases him.
"All right Piplup bubble beam." Piplup starts firing off his bubble beam while also starting to spin mid-air causing the bubbles to form a ring around him that routes with him until all the bubbles pop and rain down small fireworks impressing the crowd.
Dawn is proud and happy with her move, that is until she sees Piplup is getting dizzy from all the spinning firing off his bubbles in all directions causing them to rain down upon the audience with no control. Finally Piplup falls to the group spinning landing head first.
We see that the audience and arena was all in Dawn head and her friends are acting as judges giving their opinions on her performance.
"I say you still need some more practice," Dusk said in an uneasy tone, Dawn and Piplup were making good progress however on execution the two had a long way to go.
"Nice try, not quite." Ash said, trying to encourage her.
"Pika." Said trying to be nice.
"Good effort, but it still needs work," Brock said honestly.
"Ahh," Dawn grunted at another failed attempt.
"Lady Dawn it's ok to fail with every attempt you will learn something to help you do better than last. You just need to keep practicing, why don't you do the move again and keep practicing spinning until Piplup gets used to it." Dusk suggested not wanting Dawn to get discouraged.
"Alright you're right besides we look great doing it so that's something so let's try that." Dawn said determined and ready to try again.
Dusk then realized she needed to start practicing as well, since she had just got Pidgey a few days ago she hadn't been teaching it much with contest skills and she needed to keep Togekiss in shape as well. When she notices Dawn had Piplup high in the air about use bubble beam she then makes a quick attempt to stop Dawn.
"Wait lady Dawn, I meant just practicing spinning not spinning while using a bubble beam!" Dusk yelled but it was too late as Piplup already began firing off bubble beam again and like before got dizzy resulting in bubbles raining down upon them as the five (including Pikachu) tried to dodge and avoid them until Piplup once more fell to the ground.
"Oh no," Dawn said, frustrated again.
"Maybe you and Piplup should work on spinning first then add the bubblebeam." Dusk suggested with a nervous smile.
With Ash, Brock and Pikachu agreeing with her.
"Sorry guys." Dawn apologizes, rubbing the back of her head. "I guess I'm running into things again." She was so fixated on mastering her new trick before they got to Jubilife city, she was trying to perfect it before they got there.
"Lady Dawn, how about I offer some suggestions for a move that might be easier for Piplup to get down before we go to Jubilife City?" Dusk suggested.
"What do you have in mind, Dusk?" Dawn asked even though she really wanted to get that move she came up with down so it wouldn't hurt to have a back up idea.
" Well how about you have Piplup fire bubble beam up into the air then as the bubbles fall to the ground have Piplup use peck to pop them." Dusk explained.
"Really?" Dawn asked, unsure about that move.
"Trust me Lady Dawn, this move will be perfect for one of your performance skill since it allows you more control and will help you prepare yourself for more challenging moves." Dusk explained wanting to help Lady Dawn to succeed.
"Ok I guess I could give it a try. Dawn said she has nothing to lose.
"Piplup use bubble beam and aim for the sky." Piplup then fired up and the bubbles went up and up and up until they finally start losing their momentum and start slowly falling down about 15 feet in the air well out of Piplup reach.
"Dusk that was a nice idea but I don't think we can just wait for the bubbles to float down from that height." Dawn told her having feeling that would happen.
"Lady Dawn you could make one more attempt at it but this time ask Piplup to use about half the force he would normally put into his bubble beam?" Dusk said to her, still holding her smile.
Dawn and Piplup look at each other as Piplup shrugs his shoulders at her as they do as Dusk asks "all right Piplup use bubble beam again into the sky but with half force."
Piplup fires a bubble beam while holding back which causes bubbles to only go about six feet up before losing their momentum and start slowly falling down putting them well within Piplup reach.
"Now, have Piplup use Peck," Dusk said.
Dawn nodded. "Piplup use Peck on the bubbles,"
Piplup then jumped into the air his beak turned white as he began to use Peck on the falling bubbles, he starts pop the bubbles which causes a sparkling effect with each pop beautiful if basic until their only one bubble left.
"Lady Dawn with this last bubble has Piplup do a small spin right before he pops it." Dusk told her.
"All right Piplup, do a small spin as you pop this last one." Starting to get into this idea
*Piplup, Pip." Said as he does small spin as he pop the bubble causing the sparkling effect to cover his body making it appear as if he was sparkling.
"Oh, Piplup you look so beautiful," Dawn smiled in awe at the sight of her pokemon.
"Wow, that was an excellent performance," Ash smiled.
"Yes, Piplup was able to perform a move to draw attention to the bubbles and popping the last bubble allowed Piplup to show off its body," Brock added.
"Pika, Pi," Pikachu clapped his hands.
"You see? This move not only shows off your style. but also Piplup and it also shows you that power control is key when doing contest moves, so if you can't control your power you won't last long in contests," Dusk explained since there been cases where coordinators been automatically been eliminated if their move went out control endangered lives in some more extreme cases was banned from contest's permanently.
"Wow, I never thought of that." Dawn said
"It's ok, you're still learning." Dusk said before she took a sniff and smelled something great
'Sir Brock must be close to finishing the food.' " Lady Dawn, how about you and me can do a practice contest battle since we both could use the practice then we can eat?" Dusk offered.
"That would be nice though I still want to get that move down." Dawn said not wanting to give up on it.
"Alright." Dusk smirked as she took out Pidgey's great ball. "Pidgey, it's time to shine!" she shouted as she tossed the Great Ball into the air and in a slash of golden yellow light Pidgey appeared in divebomb position before it pulled up and landed on the ground.
"We still need to work on the entrance." Dusk smirked, she wanted Pidgey to get as much experience he could before she could use him in a contest, and now would be a good time to work on their style.
"You have the first move Dawn." Dusk offered.
"All right Piplup use peak." Dawn said with Piplup charging forward to Pidgey with energy gathering around his beak.
Dusk waited for a bit until Piplup was close enough. "Now dodge, then use sand attack." Pidgey dodge to the right avoiding Piplup peak and follows up launching sand from ground in to his eyes.
"No way," Dawn called out.
"That's the same move she used on Team Rocket," Ash stated.
Dusk smirked, in her head that move would have cost Dawn some points and even more for what's about to happen.
"Now Pidgey, follow up with a tackle." Dusk said as Pidgey knocked into Piplup forcing him back toward Dawn.
"Piplup!" Dawn said, in concern.
Piplup finally got the sand out of his eyes and was ready to continue. "Alright, Piplup shoot a bubble beam into the sky at half power," she said using the move that Dusk had just told her.
Piplup fired the bubble beam into air at half power, and they began to fall however Dusk knew two things: one that would only help in an appealing round, and two she could easily turn that to her advantage.
"Pidgey use gust on the bubbles. Dusk said and while Pidgey didn't quite get why he should do so followed his trainer order and flaps his wings causing the bubbles to start hitting each other and popping and those that didn't were blown far away by gust well out Piplup reach.
"What?!" Dawn is left shocked they didn't get a chance to pop one bubble.
"That move is meant for the appealing round, you need to know what moves are meant to appeal and what moves are meant for battle, if this was a real contest battle you would already be down to half your points." Dusk explained
Dawn looked at the ground in shame, again she was doing bad again and again and constantly needed Dusk to explain what she was doing wrong.
"Don't give up Dawn, if it's about half you need to start making up for it." Ash called out.
"Pi, Pikachu," Pikachu also called out.
"They are right Lady Dawn. As long as you have points you're still in the battle so don't give up." Dusk said encouraging her
Dawn then gained a look of determination and nodded then got an idea. "Alright Piplup, spin at half speed and use bubble beam!"
Piplup did as said. "Pip lup lup," Piplup said. As he spun like before, however the speed of the spin was much slower, Piplup then began to release the bubble beam that spun around Piplup, before they were around Pidgey who was confused.
"Pidgey?" Pidgey uttered, confused by this battle.
"They got it to work, by slowing down the spin Piplup didn't get dizzy like before," Brock smirked, seeing Dawn was using what Dusk had seen was using it in her own routine.
"Amazing, they got it down," Ash smiled.
"Pika, chu," Pikachu smirked, happy to see Dawn and Piplup got the move to work.
Dusk smirked, seeing Dawn's move work. 'It's a start, however she still has a long way to go,' Dusk thought.
The bubbles began to hit Pidgey making him flinch from the force of the bubble's.
"Pidgey spin and use gust!" Dusk shouted.
"Pi, Pidgey." Pidgey chirped confused but he spread his wings and began to spin in place while releasing a Gust, the spiral of wind popped all the remaining bubbles creating sparkles that covered Pidgey who had stopped spinning.
"No way," Dawn said in surprise.
"She had Pidgey use Gust to not only cancel Bubble Beam but used it to her advantage to bring out to make Pidgey shine." Brock said, impressed.
"Man, Dusk could give May, Drew, Harley and even Soledad a run for their money," Ash admitted he had seen most of May's contests and had seen what she and all the other contest trainers could do, but Dusk was amazing especially since she had just gotten Pidgey and she was making it look like he had been doing contests for years.
'Time to end this,' Dusk thought, knowing Dawn and Piplup would be nearing the end of their stamina at this point.
"Ok, Pidgey dive toward Piplup." Dusk said as he started diving toward Piplup.
'What is she thinking?' Dawn thought whatever it is she got to do something. "Piplup use bubble beam."
"Piplup, lup, lup!" Piplup began to fire a Bubble Beam at Pidgey.
"Pidgey, dodge and spin while using Brave Bird!" Dusk called out, she didn't want to have use Brave Bird but this was something she wanted Pidgey to get used to if they were going to battle.
Pidgey swerved out of the way, and continued to dive towards Piplup when he started to try to use brave bird with fire-like energy form around him which flickered as he tried to maintain it.
'Come on Pidgey you can do it.' Dusk thought as Pidgey closes the distance with his brave bird flickering like a candle that is close to being blown out and that strain was too much for Pidgey to handle, losing his brave bird and forcing him to stop diving.
"Oh no," Dusk said, now knowing that calling for a Brave Bird was the wrong call.
Pidgey flew in place exhausted from trying to maintain Brave Bird, the tiny bird pokemon breathing heavily.
"Pidgey is still not used to Brave Bird, it just drains his power too quickly and it causes too much stress to his body." Brock said.
Ash nodded, knowing that if this was either a real contest or battle Pidgey would have been left open for a direct attack.
"Can you still battle?" Dusk asked Pidgey.
"Pidgey," Pidgey nodded, even exhausted he was still willing to keep battling.
"Let's wrap this up, Piplup use Bubble Beam one more time." Dawn called out. Piplup fires off as many bubbles as he can at Pidgey.
"Pidgey, use Gust at half strength and catch them!" Dusk called out.
Pidgey began to flap his wings and created a small tornado, as it began to catch the bubbles trapping them inside, surprising everyone.
"Amazing," Dawn commented, she didn't expect Dusk to think of that trick on the fly.
"Now send them back!" Dusk shouted.
Pidgey flapped his wing, in which the tornado began to increase in speed, sending the bubble beam right back at Piplup at high speed.
"Piplup dodge." Dawn called out.
But before Piplup could dodge he was hit by his own bubble beam which sent him flying to the ground, he struggled to get up but all of a sudden he was swept by the very tornado that had sent his Bubble Beam right back at him. He spun inside a few times before he was knocked into a tree with a hard thud.
"Piplup!" Dawn called out in concern.
"Piplup…" Piplup said while unconscious.
"Pidgey…" Pidgey uttered before he fell to the ground.
"Pidgey," Dusk shouted in concern as she sprinted over to her fallen pokemon and picked him up in her arms. "Are you ok?"
"Pi, Pidgey," Pidgey replied weakly, telling her he was ok.
Dusk sighed in relief glad he was after her stupid decision. Clearly his current body just can't safely use the move so until he evolves they won't start practicing till then for his safety Dusk decided.
"Piplup are you ok?" Dawn asked in concern.
"Piplup, pip." Piplup replied telling her he was ok, but he was ashamed that he lost.
"You did great, you deserve a rest," Dawn said with a smile.
"Both of you did amazing," Ash smiled, impressed by Dawn and Dusk along with their pokemon.
"Yes, and Pidgey using Gust to not only stop the bubble beam, but it send it back to Piplup was genius." Brock said.
"Why thank you Sir Brock," Dusk smirked, before turning to Dawn. "You did pretty well Lady Dawn, you and Piplup were able to get the hang of your move in such a short time it is impressive."
"Thanks, but it's because of you that we even got the hang of it," Dawn said, knowing that if it wasn't for Dusk she and Piplup would still be having trouble.
"I think you guys earned something to eat." Brock said with a smile.
"You're right Sir Brock, we should all eat and then relax to recover our strength before any more training." Dusk said knowing Pidgey needs a good rest.
"Yeah, I'm starving," Ash smiled sheepishly while holding his stomach.
"Pika, Pi," Pikachu said, also hungry.
A few minutes later, Brock had finished giving everyone their respective food with the pokemon each given their own bowl to eat out of which they were except Starly and Pidgey who currently we're sharing Pidgey's bowl.
'Maybe Starly keeping an eye on Pidgey to make sure he is ok?' Dusk thought, trying to explain why two are acting like that.
"So Dusk that unique Pokedex you have if you don't mind me asking where did you get it?" Ash asked, snapping her out her thoughts.
She then grabbed the Poke Slate and looked at it. "It's called the PokeSlate Sir Ash, and it was designed to be the most advanced device ever created in my country. It has data on all known pokemon, regions, maps and more. but most of it is lock and only the Sinnoh data is available"
"Wow, so it's like an ultimate pokedex right?" Dawn asked.
"In a way, this is one of only two in existence, the second one is back in my home country." Dusk carefully worded her answer.
"So you aren't from Sinnoh?" Brock asked.
Dusk shook her head. "No, I came here to start my journey," it wasn't a complete lie, she then thought back to just before her Journey even began a few days before she ran away.
Flashback
Salvia just looked at her long time friend, shocked by what she had just said. "Did I just hear you right?" she asked Freesia, confused and shocked by what she heard.
"It's just what I said, I think you should run away. You are so unhappy with all the training and having little say in your life, leaving here would be your best option," Freesia said with a determined expression.
"I-I want to be free from all of this, I do but want about my parents if I leave they will have almost all their best people looking for me, they'll recognize me the moment I leave." Salvia said, knowing full well of her parents' resources.
"Not if you time your escape right my lady." Fressia said.
Salvia thought about it for a minute before remembering. "Wait, we're going to sinnoh in a few days for an important deal that is going to take a week to complete." Saliva said as ideas start forming in her head.
"Yes, my lady, they will be so focused on that…"
"They won't realize I'm gone until about a week has passed or which way I went." Saliva finished Fressia's sentence.
Freesia smiled and nodded. "Yes, and we a few days to prepare for that,"
Salvia started to smile until a new thought came to her mind. "Fressia, if they find out that you helped me run away…" not finishing her sentence, both of them know what the consequences are.
Freesia then grabbed the young princess' shoulders. "My job is to look after you and to make sure your needs are met, you are like the little sister I never had Lady Salvia and all I want is for you to be happy." Freesia said, giving Saliva a big smile. "I'm prepared to face the consequences, if it means you will be free from all of this,"
Saliva's jaw sagged, and she couldn't help but cry that her long time friend was willing to face punishment in order for her to be happy. Salvia then hugged Freesia who returned it.
"Now my lady we have a lot of work to do to prepare and every second counts." Fressia said as she led Saliva to the castle.
Salvia sighed, she had finished her last lesson for the day and she was on her way to meet up with Freesia, who was in her room.
"Ok Lady Freesia, what will we need for your plan?" Salvia asks her trusted maid and friend.
"When it comes to preparation I will be able to gather most of the items myself but there's one thing that only you will be able to get my lady and it's argumentally the most important." Freesia said as she took out a photo and gave it to her, shocking her since it's a photo of the two pokeslates!
"Lady Freesia, where did you get this photo? How do you know these exist?" Salvia question, the Pokeslates were created by best scientists and were kept top secret heck she only really knows what they look like cause Gabriel told her about them saying they will be important for her mission.
"I have my ways my lady." Freesia said cryptically.
Salvia nod at hearing that. "But how am I supposed to get one of them? They only told me what they look like, not show me actually one let alone hold it?"
"They finished completing them so they are usually kept locked up in a security box deep in the labs so all you have to do is give them a decoy one to put away and they won't know a switch has happened for a very long time." Freesia explained
"But where am I-" Salvia didn't get to finish as Freesia pulled out a complete replica of the blue pokeslate.
"How do you- when did you get that? Salvia asked in confusion.
"Like I said, I have my ways." Freesia smirked.
Saliva could only nod but she was still wondering how she would switch the real Poke Slate out for the fake one.
"Don't worry, I have the problem covered," Freesia said before taking out a pokeball and releasing the pokemon inside.
Out came a pokemon where it's entire body was Orange it had a long spike on the top of it's head and small bud on bottom of its body with it's being blue in center but what really caught attention was it's entire body had electricity coming of it even using to electric bolts and hand's
"Rotom!" the electric pokemon smirked.
"Oh Rotom," Salvia smiled, Rotom was Freesia's partner pokemon and one of her pokemon friends before had started her training. She and Rotom would hide and seek for hours on end, Rotom had the ability to enter inside of any electrical appliances.
"Rotom will enter the main generator and shut it down which turns off the power for five seconds before the back generator will kick in and turn the lights back on during that gap my lady you will swap the real one with the decoy. The scientist will no doubt immediately put that slate along with another one back into the box to secure it from potential theft, not bothering to check it as he then evacuates you to safety." Freesia explains and it seems incredibly thought through but there's one thing that she can't help but ask.
"Freesia, where will I hide the decoy and the actual slate that wouldn't stand out?" Salvia asked unsure where she could hide them on her person since there was no way they let her bring a bag in that would be too suspicious.
"Why in your dress," Fressia said. "You'll have the fake one in between your chest and when the lights go out you quickly swap the replica for the real thing." Freesia said without any embarrassment unlike her.
Salvia goes red in face with what Freesia said and looks at her chest which is decently large, about a C to D cup at best. "Do you really think that could work? Will it stay in place?" As she moves her shoulders to push her chest together to see if it makes that tight of hold.
"You will have practice with the decoy my lady but I'm confident you will be able to get it down quickly with your skill." Fressia said.
Salvia takes a deep breath as her cheeks return to their normal color. "Ok Lady Freesia I trust you that you know what you're saying." Salvia said
Fressa nodded and she began to help Saliva practice for the heist, like Freesia said Saliva had gotten the hang of it in no time although it still left her feeling embarrassed both with feeling it left on her chest and with idea itself and really hopes after this she won't need put things between her chest again at least not like this.
Later the plan was set in motion, Salvia was walking towards the lab with the replica Pokeslate between her breasts while keeping a calm composer on the outside and not letting how she feels show. Freesia was standing nearby with Rotom at the generator, Freesia said that after 5 minutes she'll have Rotom shut down the generator by then she needs to have the pokeslate in her hands to make the switch.
She reached the lab, and the doors slid open inside the lab. She saw multiple scientists working on different things, she looked around and saw many complex machinery and computers. The researchers turned towards her.
Suddenly a man wearing a white lab coat came over. " Hello princess Salvia, what brings you here?" He asked her as one head scientists
"I heard some rumors about the Poke Slates being completed and after talking to Karen about it she sent me to become familiar with one of the device's." Salvia told her lie with confidence having gone through many practice's with Freesia.
The head researcher placed his knuckle under his chin and hummed. "Well, we never received a message from her, but knowing her she expected that her name would be enough and just sent a message later for the record." Him being used to how Karen operated doesn't find it odd that why they decided to use her name rather than her parents or Gabriel's.
"Well, she told me to study up on its use plan and give me a quiz on it in the morning so I would be very appreciative if you could show me it and tell me what I need to know." Salvia said while giving him the sweetest smile she could.
The head researcher thought for a second and nodded. "Very well, let me guide you to where they are." he said, gesturing to her to follow him.
Saliva nodded while inwardly smirking that the plan was working thus far, she followed after the researcher while counting down the time she had left till Freesia acted.
Freesia, who was near the generator with Rotom standing ready, had her watch out counting down the time and her lady had 2 minutes left before she would have Rotom go to work.
'I hope you have it in your hands right now my lady.' Freesia thought, knowing that there was no second chance if this were to fail.
The researcher then stopped at a metal vault, Salvia was impressed by the size of the vault it had a six button keypad, along with a retina scanner and a keycard console on the side.
'They didn't spare any expense on this security system.' Salvia thought to herself, surprised at the amount of security by time he finished unlocking everything she had thirty seconds left till power goes out she needs to get in her hands now!
"Well here they are princess." He said as he sets the two down gently on the table in the room.
'Twenty seconds.'
"Would it be ok if I held one?" She asked Innocently while trying to avoid sweating.
"Well that should be ok, it would be easier to show you that way." As he takes a step back letting her grab one.
'Ten seconds.'
Saliva picked up the blue one and pretended to examine it.
"Ok to access the main menu you just have to." The researcher was about about to explain how pokeslate works but her mind simply drowned him out as only one thought was in her.
'Zero'
Freesia shot her head up and looked at Rotom. "Now Rotom!" she told her partner.
Rotom began to chuckled before it zapped right into the generator, after a few seconds it began to spark with electricity before shutting down causing power to fail for five seconds in few areas
The light went out in the lab shocking everyone inside, alarms immediately began blaring, with Salvia quickly noticed the head researcher was distracted. She quickly reached into the front cut of her dress and pulled out the replica and then placed the original inside the cut of her dress and between her breasts. Suddenly the light came back on.
" I'm sorry Princess but afraid we have to call this demonstration off." He told her snatching the replica slate in her hands from her and put it beside the red one before putting both in the box as he pressed a nearby button making the vault shut completely on its own as the security system re-engages.
He then grabs the radio on his belt before calling in on "We have a code Platinum in Kosumo Research Center I repeat we have a code Platinum in Kosumo Research Center this is not drill." As he moves her over to the far left corner of the room where they have a clear view of the door.
"My princess please stay here with me at the moment and I promise everything will be ok." He tells her as he starts sweating a little clearly trying to stay calm.
Salvia did everything she could not to giggle at how he was acting, and she couldn't even believe that she had swapped the real Poke Slate for a Replica. It was a rush she hadn't felt before. She was not going to steal again but she couldn't wait to see Freesia's face when she saw her later.
Suddenly some guards came in wearing some black suits and sunglasses. "Princess, we are here to escort you out of here," one of the guards said calmly.
Saliva nodded as she was escorted out of the Kasumo Research Center by two guards while the rest took defensive positions around three of them keeping a close eye for anything odd or out ordinary as they moved through the lab.
Once she was back in her room, Salvia was met by Freesia. "So did you do it?" Freesia asked.
Salvia smirked as she showed her the Poke Slate pulling it out from between her breasts. "Here it is, the real Poke Slate," Salvia smiled, although still embarrassed having to carry it between her breasts she was happy that it was down.
Freesia smiled and clapped her hands. "Very good, my lady now we can complete the preparations."
Salvia couldn't help but smile when she knew the hardest part was over " So Freesia now that we have the pokeslate what else is there left to do?" She asked
"You can leave the rest to me, you just need to keep up appearances and not draw attention to yourself till we make the trip my Lady." Freesia said.
End of Flashback
"Anyway Sir Brock, who were you calling back at the poker center?" Dusk asked, changing the conversation.
That cause Brock to flinch. "Yeah, I'm also curious about who you called and, why you aren't flirting with Nurse Joy or any woman we've seen so far?" Ash added wanting answers.
"Well I you see I…" Brock looking for a way out but see's none concedes takes a deep breath and releases it before continuing. "Ok I am seeing someone we got in contact after I got home from finishing the battle frontier."
"Your dating someone?!" Ash exclaimed in shock causing Dawn and Dusk to hold their ears from how loud he was, he never thought Brock of all people would be in a relationship.
"You don't have to yell it to everyone!" Brock said already feeling anxious talking about it.
"I mean how can I not?" Ash asked, still in shock at the bombshell. "Oh man, if only Misty, May or Max were here they would be flipping out as well."
"Ash it can't be that big of a deal for people to date." Dawn said to ash after her hearing came back from ash's shout.
"If you've been around Brock as much as I have you would not be saying this just huge especially after what happened with professor Ivy." The second he said her name he immediately covered his mouth realizing his mistake in saying her name.
"Don't mention that name." Brock said getting very depressed.
"Sir Brock what's wrong?" Dusk ask getting concerned for him
"He had a crush on a professor back in the orange islands, and she dumped him I think and whenever he hears her name he gets depressed." Ash explained.
"You think?" Dawn asked.
"Well whenever someone tries to ask him what exactly happened he says." Ash explained and before he could finish.
"I still don't want to talk about it." Brock says not wanting to think about it.
"Love is never easy huh?" Dusk asked herself, she was offended by reading books about love stories and her own experience with it, at least forced love with those who tried to force her to be with them.
"So what's her name?" Ash asked out of curiosity. "You said after we returned from the battle frontier right?"
"I don't want to talk about it anymore right now." Brock said feeling very depressed after reliving 'that' memory.
"That's fine Sir Brock when or even if you want to talk about it let us know." Dusk said quickly before Ash or Dawn could say anything believing that Sir Brock has a right to his privacy.
"She right Brock to take your time and decide when you're ready." Dawn said, agreeing with Dusk.
"Thanks," Brock smiled.
'Doesn't it mean I can't tease him once in a while, maybe I'll contact Misty or May about this later?' Ash thought slyly.
"Wait, where is Piplup?" Dawn asked, realizing Piplup was nowhere in sight.
"I don't see him anywhere," Dusk said, looking around.
"Pika Pikachu." Pikachu said, pointing to the tall grass.
"I think Pikachu knows where he went." Ash said as he and others moved to the spot where Pikachu was pointing at and more grass to see what was on the other side.
The four could see Piplup landing face first as multiple bubbles rain down around him.
"He's still practicing, I thought we got that move down now?" Dawn asked, confused.
"Unless he is trying to do the full speed spin version. Dusk suggested feeling like that mostly like the reason he failed a move he succeeded before.
"But why the half speed one work fine so why would he practice this one? Dawn asked.
"Maybe, he wants to prove he could do the full speed version, and to prove himself to you Dawn?" Ash suggested, he could see that when you want to prove yourself and it seemed Piplup wanted to prove to himself and Dawn that he was ready to use it.
Dawn looks at Piplup as he gets back up to make another attempt and she can't help but understand his determination and be moved by it.
Just then a group of pokemon came running from a nearby path and accidentally ran into him.
"Hey it's Golduck, Quagsire, Whooper and a Poliwag," Ash said.
"Really?" Dawn said, taking out her pokedex. "Golduck, the Duck Pokémon. It makes its home in lakes, and is able to swim faster than a gold medalist."
Dusk took her Poke Slate and began to scan the remaining pokemon showing 3D holograms of them. :Quagsire, the Water Fish Pokémon and the evolved form of Wooper. Known as quite dim-witted, it doesn't care when it crashes its head against rocks or the bottoms of boats. Wooper, the Water Fish Pokémon. Though they prefer to live in cold water, these appealing Pokémon forage for food on land. They are kept warm by a layer of insulating body fluid. Wooper is the pre-evolved form of Quagsire. Poliwag, the Tadpole Pokémon. It has no arms, but its tail makes it a strong swimmer
"That is an interesting group of Pokemon." Brock said.
"So what is Piplup doing with them?" Dawn asked as she saw Piplup talking them before he started leading them somewhere.
"Taking them on a march." Ash said unsure how else to describe the situation.
"Let's follow them and see," Dusk suggested with the others nodding as they followed Piplup and the group of pokemon.
Piplup led the group for a good few minutes until they reached the nearby lake where three pokemon appeared to be celebrating. Piplup had asked the Golduck something which it responded to, Piplup then walked over three pokemon while the others watched from afar.
"What are those pokemon?" Dawn asked as Ash used his Pokedex to scan them.
'Ludicolo the carefree pokemon. When ludicolo listens to happy music, its power grows stronger and just has to dance."
"So why is Piplup getting in between the two groups? " Dusk asked, wondering what's going on.
"Piplup, Pip." Plplup said, pointing his flipper at the Ludicolos.
"Ludicolo, Ludicolo," all three shook their heads to something before making a waving away gesture at Piplup then three shot weak water guns at him.
'Now that was rude.' Dusk thought to herself.
Piplup easily shook off the water before jumping towards the using peak.
"Ludi!" All three Ludicolo's used uproar as a barrier to bounce Piplup off and hit the ground face first, the other water pokemon just looked at Piplup who got back up on his feet with an anime sweat going down his forehead but he stood up straight.
"I think Piplup is trying to help those pokemon by being their leader?" Dawn said not quite fully sure.
"But somethings not right here, Lady Dawn Piplup looks like it's accusing those three of something but they appear to be denying it, I think have something to do with those berries." Dusk surmised.
"You don't think Piplup thinks they stole the water pokemons' berries?" Ash asked.
"I'm not sure as a species that would be out of character for Ludicolo to steal from other pokemon rather than gather themselves but they could be out lies which does happen with Pokemon or maybe there is something we don't know." Dusk said, trying to figure out the situation.
Piplup tried another peck, however the three Ludicolos just simply stepped out of the way. And Piplup sailed across the water and hit something honestly Dusk couldn't tell. Whatever Piplup hit began to spin before it launched him into the water.
"Piplup!" Dawn shouted in concern as she and others rushed towards the lake.
As they reached the lake, the noticed the water near Piplup was bubbling as something was coming to the surface revealing a giant Magikarp?
"Is that a giant magikarp?" Dusk asked, confused as she heard of large magikarps but that is just ridiculous.
"No, whenever we see that it only means one thing." Ash frowned.
As if on cue the crown goes up revealing a hatch showing it was a machine, and out came Team Rocket.
"Prepare for trouble."
"Make it double."
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all people within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jesse."
"And James."
"Team Rocket blasts away at the speed of light."
"Surrender now or prepare for a fight."
"Meowth that's right."
"Wobba."
"Mime, Mime."
"Team Rocket!" Ash, Dawn and Brock shouted.
"Don't you three ever give up?" Dusk questioned.
"As if besides you all are so selfish, stealing all your pokemon will be good for us." Jesse said as if that made sense.
Piplup swam back to the shore and got out of the water before pointing at the team rocket accusingly followed by patting his chest proudly.
"It looks like Golduck got Piplup on his payroll." Meowth said with a mocking smile. "Some bodyguard." Jesse followed up smugly.
"I get it, they wanted someone to fight for them, and piplup agreed." Dawn said realizing what going while also putting her hand against her face in frustration, really wishing Piplup had at come to them first before agreeing to help.
"Piplup!" Piplup shouted as he jumped onto the submarine and began to peck at it, but it had no effect until he tried to attack the tail/rudder which simply shocked him off and sent him back into the water.
Dusk just shook her head. 'I'm not one to think this, but Lady Dawn's Piplup isn't the sharpest tool in the shed.' she understood Piplup wanted to help, but it was just rushing this fight not even thinking of other ways he could try.
"Piplup stop." Dawn called out worried for him.
"Pikachu, use thunderbolt!" Ash called out.
Team rocket seeing the attack coming quickly rush back into their sub and seal the top back up before the thunderbolt could hit which does appear to affect it
"I love it, Pikachu going gaga out there while we are just fine." Meowth said confident in their safety from Pikachu electricity.
"I say we make them all go gaga." Jesse says. Meowth goes to a nearby control panel knowing exactly what Jesse means and hits the button as he says. " Gaga go!"
This cause their sub to turn towards the shore with front facing people/pokemon and fires two ropes one which wrap around the group of water pokemon and other around the ludicolo's and Pikachu who land near them after this thunderbolt and start to retract pull the pokemon closer to water and sub.
"Oh no!" Dusk shouted in fear. "We need to stop them." she said before taking out Togekisses pokeball. "Go, Togekiss use Aura Sphere and destroy those ropes."
In a flash of white light, Togekiss appeared appeared and fired two Aura Spheres shaking the sub around but the ropes didn't break.
"Heheh, you can rock and roll us, but you aren't tipping us over." Jesse mocked.
Piplup who had returned to shore sees what had happened and attempts to free them by pulling at the rope with his beak but to no effect so he changes his focus back to the sub once more using peak against it.
"It's not working, Piplup is wildly attacking," Brock said.
"Togekiss, use Aura Sphere again, this time focus directly on the ropes," Dusk called out.
Togekiss then fired two Aura Spheres at the ropes however they were countered by a bubblebeam causing the Aura Spheres to explode, which shocked everyone. They looked to see Piplup.
"Piplup what are you doing?!" Dawn asked in shock, why would he even do that.
"Piplup, Pip," Piplup said, pounding his chest.
"Togekiss, kiss, kiss," Togekiss replied.
"Piplup said that it promised to help Golduck and the others and it doesn't need any help to do it." Meowth translated.
"Heheh, it just makes things easier for us," Jesse laughed.
"Yeah, keep it up Piplup," James smirked.
"Lady Dawn, if Piplup keeps being stubborn Team Rocket will capture the pokemon and get away." Dusk said she understood why Piplup wanted to help but it's stubbornness and pride was making things worse.
"I know." Dawn said. "Piplup, you need to let Togekiss help you stop being stubborn." Dawn said hoping Piplup would listen but he keeps pecking at the sub ignoring her for the moment.
Togekiss shook her head before she flew towards Piplup and knocked him off the sub and back onto land, before firing two aura spheres at the ropes severlying weakens and stop pull them closer to the sub
"What happened? Reel them in," Jesse told Meowth in frustration.
"We can't that twerpettes pokemon." Meowth said
"Togekiss." James added looking at one of his dexcards.
"Damaged the motor connected to ropes." Meowth finished starting get nervous
"I thought you said you made sub poke proof?" Jesse said, starting to get angry.
"It is, but not the motors connected to the ropes." Meowth answered nervously.
"Great togekiss once more use Aura Sphere on the ropes." Dusk said seeing the effectiveness of the previous attack.
"Meowth we do something to stop that irritating pokemon before it ruins our plan." Jesse said looking directly at togekiss through the periscope as she readied another Aura Sphere.
"Lucky I had this made just because of annoying pokemon." Meowth said as he readied his countermeasure, he pressed a button and out of the subs mouth came flying mechanical Remoraid
"Are those flying Remoraid?" Dusk asked in surprise.
The flying mechanical fish heading straight for togekiss who fires the Aura Sphere in an attempt to stop them but it only destroyers couple them while rest slam into her knocking her to ground where Piplup is who had recovered from Togekiss efforts to get him out of the way.
"Togekiss!" Dusk shouted in fear.
"Pip Piplup Piplup!" Piplup yells at Togekiss for her stopping his efforts
Togekiss recovered and glared at him. "Togekiss, Toge, kiss kiss!" Togekiss shouted back, scolding for being so reckless, and telling him that he was his attacks were doing nothing and if she hadn't done what she did Pikachu and the other pokemon would be in the clutches of Team Rocket cause of stupid pride and ego getting in the way.
Just then the Mechanical Remoraid began to attack both pokemon knocking them around a few times, Piplup got up and fired a Bubble Beam and Togekiss fired an Aura Sphere but there were too many to take out one at time.
"It's like they're everywhere!" Ash is shocked by how many there are.
"There seems to be no end to them!" Dusk said feeling like the two attacks were not even putting a dent in their numbers.
"Just look at them go, we can catch every pokemon in Sinnoh," Jesse cheered as the three celebrate.
"A tall order, but you never know." James smiled.
"I say we get it done," Meowth smiled as well.
The Mechanical Remoraid keeps slamming into Togekiss and Piplup repeatedly knocking the two down as the two struggle to get up.
"Piplup Pip Piplup Piplup." Say's starting to cry feeling like he failed everyone and it's getting to him.
"Togekiss," Togekiss struggled to get up, unwilling to give up.
"Piplup…" Dawn uttered in worry, before calling out. "Piplup, don't give up, you promised to fight for Golduck and the others!"
"Togekiss we can't let these crock's steal away those pokemon freedom right!" Dusk added, reminding her of what they experienced of their freedom being stolen until they took it back.
Both Piplup and Togekiss, hearing their trainer's declaration, get back up. "Piplup Pip Pip Piplup Pip." Piplup turns to togekiss and explains some kind of plan before pointing upwards clearly asking her to trust him.
"Togekiss." Togekiss, seeing the determination nodded as the two acted on the plan.
Piplup then jumps on Togekiss' back as she goes upwards with the Mechanical Remoraid following in circle formation to keep them trapped. After getting high up Piplup jumps off Togekiss' back getting even higher in air as Togekiss dives downward with the Mechanical Remoraid staying on Piplup intending on finishing him off before going after Togekiss.
That's when Piplup became to spin and fire bubble beam with this spin being at full speed making the bubble beam ring and as he does he hit's all of the Mechanical Remoraid around him who try to get close while not becoming dizzy and losing focus. The gang gasped in amazement, Dawn smiled at seeing her partner finally mastering the full speed of the spin move.
While he was keeping the Mechanical Remoraid busy Togekiss used that chance to get close to the sub and fire another Aura Sphere at the ropes which hit and this time it caused them to snap freeing the pokemon.
"Way to go you two," Dusk called out.
"But it's not over yet, Piplup spin and use Bubble Beam again," Dawn called out.
Piplup jumped up and spun at full speed and fired off bubble beam ring but not directly at sub rather around it cause the around the sub to be turned into a whirlpool that starts sucking the sub under the water.
Inside the submarine, Team Rocket were trying to keep their balance, while Meowth was pressing the buttons trying to steady the submarine but it was futile.
" Now that they stopped going gaga and we have taken over any other bright ideas!" Jesse practically yelled at Meowth who was desperately pushing buttons.
"Since we are all going down the drain I suggested we dance." Meowth said having given up on trying to get out of the whirlpool.
"Who do you think you are? A Ludicolo?" Jesse yelled, as the whirlpool finished dragging them down.
On land, Piplup jumped into Dawn's arms. "Oh Piplup you were amazing," Dawn said happily.
"Piplup. Piplup," Piplup happily replied.
"Togekiss, that was great teamwork you did with Piplup." Dusk said as she as well hugged her togekiss.
"Togekiss kiss." Said as she nuzzled into Dusk hug.
During that Ash and Brock freed the other pokemon.
"So I'd everyone ok?" Brock asks as he freed the water types while Ash freed the Ludicolos and Pikachu who jumped into his arms.
At that moment the team rocket sub resurfaces with them opening the hatch immediately and all of them pil out on top of each other
"Sometimes air is as good as food." Jesse said clearly nauseous from their experience. "Especially when you having been breathing much." James follows up just as nauseous as Jessie.
Ash and Pikachu glared at Team Rocket where now exposed now was the time to attack. "Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachi shouted as he unleashed a powerful thunderbolt hitting the submarine on the inside as well out which wasn't as protected as outside causing the sub to explode and start raining berries?
Ash picks up a berrie. "Where did team rocket get all these berries?"
Golduck caught the barrier and recognized it as one of the berries he and his friends had gathered before, he looked at one of Ludicolo's. "Golduck, gold," Golduck said, apologizing for accusing them of stealing their berries.
"Ludicolo." Ludicolo said, forgiving Golduck and both pokemon gave each other a handshake.
"I get it, Team Rocket must have stolen the water types berries and something happened to make them think the ludicolo's we're the thieves who took the berries." Dusk said, before glaring at Piplup who lowered his head in shame knowing that he was the one who openly blamed the Ludicolos for stealing the berries and maybe he should have listen to their side of story as well.
"Oh, Piplup," Dawn said with a sad frown. "You shouldn't accuse anyone unless you got proof,"
"Piplup," Piplup said, lowering his head, before turning to the Ludicolos. "Piplup, pip…" he apologized To them.
"Ludi Ludicolo." Said the trio of Ludicolo's not upset understand it was a misunderstanding.
He then turned to Togekiss. "Piplup. Pip," he apologized to her for being stubborn and letting pride blind him to what was important.
"Togekiss," Togekiss smiled, saying it was alright and that next time to ask for help.
That when they see the now very wet team rocket getting out of the water and on to shore breathing heavily.
"And to think I loved swimming as a girl." Jesse complained as five finally caught their breath only to the enraged water types and ludicolo's glaring at them.
Team Rocket backs away while giving nervous grins. "Hehe, about us having those berries, we were just holding onto them for you," Jesse said nervously. "You can't blame us for wanting to have a snack." James added trying to make them pity them as a way to calm them down.
"I doubt that you three are petty thrives, so petty that you steal from unsuspecting pokemon." Dusk said in disgust at them, not only stealing from the pokemon and they dare try to ask for pity!
Golduck and one the ludicolo's share a glance and immediately come to agreement on what to do. The two groups combined their water guns and blast team rocket with a giant blast of water that carried them high into the air and far from here.
"I'm starting to enjoy this ocean breeze's the blue water in my hair. If only I could hear the romantic swell violins I would truly be at peace." Jesse fantasized
"How touching, but this isn't the time to be cracking up," James said.
"Oh yeah! I'll crack up when I want to!" Jesse shouted, making James flinch.
"Isn't that all time? And it's a wonder why we're a team?" Meowth asked with a smile.
"We are blasting off again." Team rocket cried as they disappeared into the distance.
The water pokemon and the Ludicolo's celebrated their victory with dancing.
About 2 hours later with everyone's help we were able to find all the berries (at least as far as Dusk could tell) so with the two groups agreeing to work together for now on with them now waving them goodbye as they continue on to Jubilife City.
"Take care everyone." Dawn said waving bye with Pikachu and Piplup on either side of her waving bye as well.
"And make sure, to keep a look out for anyone who tries to steal from you," Dusk smiled, waving as well.
The gang were now walking along the trail as they continued their way to Jubilife City. "Wow, if it wasn't for Piplup and Togekiss none of that would have been solved." Ash said proud of the two.
"True, while I don't agree with how Piplup tried to help them but if he hadn't gotten involved it's unlikely team rocket wouldn't have revealed themselves and would have gotten away with berries." Dusk admitted.
"Piplup you were awesome," Dawn said. "Let's try our move one more time!"
"Piplup!" Piplup nodded eager to show them his mastery of the move.
"Alright, Piplup Spin and use Bubble Beam!" Dawn called out.
Piplup jumped up and spun around firing off the bubble beam making the bubble beam ring with him not getting dizzy with all the bubbles safely popping in the air rain down like fireworks.
"Wow that's it." Ash said glad to see Dawn succeed with the move she thought of.
"Hey Dawn piplup is looking strong for sure." Brock said
"Amazing Lady Dawn, you and Piplup have come a long way in such a short time," Dusk smiled at how far both Dawn and Piplup have come, and if they keep it up they'll be hard to beat when she enters into the contests.
"I think we are both ready for our pokemon contest now. Great Piplup you're looking good." Dawn said feeling her confidence at an all time high since her journey began.
"Hey race you to Jubilife City." As Dawn ran ahead with Piplup right behind her, feeling ready for the Jubilife City contest, the others smiled and ran after them.
{With help of both Dusk and water types Dawn and Piplup have mastered a new contest move and are feeling ready for her first contest debut as the group continues their travel to Jubilife City as their legend continues.}
A/N: I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, and we were able to see Dusk in action in a practice contest battle, and she was able to help Dawn and Piplup get used to the spin move, and she was able to command Pidgey use contest moves even if he had never done one before it shows she is able to adapt on the fly in a contest, we also saw how Dusk had gotten the Poke Slate it makes me wonder how she ran away from home but we'll have to wait and see. Co-A/N: Sand high good to see you all again this chapter has good example of us using time that was spent on team rocket (in show) that honestly wouldn't change cause dusk/salvia inclusion and using it to further the characters and pokemon development of main characters we probably do that more as series continues. As promised we told you what Brock was doing in the previous chapter and his change when it comes to ladies he found love (again) but who is this lady? Well we will give occasional hints as series goes on until her appearance so I'm interested to see if any one can guess who she is
