Chapter 5

"Graham, its Graham right," one of the officers stepped forwards handing his gun to a colleague. "It looks like you finished your surgery on this patient, can we take her out?" he asked, Graham nodded.

"She needs to go to recovery." Graham ordered

"Okay, we'll take her to recovery" the officer offered as they wheeled the stretcher out. Arizona breathed a sigh of relief, that was her patients safe. That was the most important thing. It was amazing really that it had gone well,

"We have Michelle Evans next" Graham muttered, "I have her in preop"

"Fetoscopic Tracheal Occlusion" Arizona recalled; she'd had her scheduled for Wednesday.

"I can go solo on this one, you promised Dr Herman" Graham sounded excited, Arizona closed her eyes leaning on him more than she wanted to, just trying to stay upright. Which was hard with the dizziness and nausea she felt along with a banging headache.

"I remember, but you got to let us clean up. We can't operate until we have resterilised the area, prepared new kit, they've left us understaffed again. You have to eat, re read my notes, then I will let you operate solo" Arizona promised hoping by playing into his delusions he would let her go. Especially as the police didn't seem keen on shooting either of them.

"I need to read your notes" Graham said panicked, he let her go throwing her to one side. Not having time to prepare Arizona fell to the floor. The police seized the opportunity jumping on Graham arresting him securing the scalpel.

"Dr Herman" one of the officers bent down checking she was okay. He helped her sit up signalling the officers to go get medical help.

"My name is Dr Arizona Robbins, I need to check on my patients, how many did he take?" Arizona asked, batting the officer off. He was trying to apply pressure to her neck.

"We found 3 women, Maggie, Michelle and the lady still under anaesthesia, they have all been transported to Pac North"

"Her name is Hannah Blund, what day is it?"

"Sunday" the officer replied, Arizona nodded it had been Thursday when she had finished work.

"I'm going to be sick" Arizona said. The officer grabbed the nearest container he could an empty kidney dish still with forceps it. Just in time as Arizona again vomited a small amount of bile.

The EMT's arrived taking over from the officer. Arizona didn't recognise them

"Where are we?" she asked still having no clue where she was. She must be near Seattle for Graham to grab so many of her patients.

"Were at Dillard Medical Centre, it closed about 2 years ago" Arizona closed her eyes, letting out a giggle, of course it was Dillard. Perfect Penny had come from Dillard, all her problems had come from Dillard. At least it explained the Teal scrubs that she was now dressed in.

"Dr Robbins" the younger EMT appeared concerned. Arizona waved him off.

"What day is it?" she asked confused, being drugged and kept in the dark had disorientated she had finished work Thursday. So guessed it was at least Friday.

"it's Sunday" Arizona closed her eyes, 4 days she had been held for 4 days. Which meant she had been drugged for longer than she thought.

"Call me Arizona please, I need to go, I need to go home now" she tried to stand.

"I'm Simon, nice to meet you Arizona. I'd love to take you home, but we need to get you checked out," the EMT insisted, Arizona ignored him,

"No, I'm okay" Arizona tried to stand, finding the dizziness stopping her. Luckily both the EMT and police officer were there.

"Arizona, you have a concussion and a bleeding wound just on your hairline, bruising to your face, a deep laceration on your neck, I can see bite marks on your neck, and bruises and lacerations to your wrists. Your respiratory rate is elevated. I'm worried about you; I can tell you've been through a lot"

Arizona stopped trying to get up instead looking at the young EMT his crystal blue eyes, his blonde hair. He reminded her of Tim. He made her feel safe, she grabbed him hand needing the comfort.

"I'm sorry," She apologised not wanting to be the difficult patient.

"It's okay, can we check you out, we can get a female EMT if you would prefer?" he offered.

"No" Arizona didn't mean to sound so panicked, "Sorry, you remind me of my brother, I feel safe with you" She grabbed his hand, trying to stop shaking so much. He began cleaning the wound on her neck.

"What's your brother's name?" Simon asked continuing to build rapport

"Tim,"

"You want me to call him, he can meet us at the hospital?"

"He died" Arizona said with a shaky laugh, she had nobody to call. Nobody to meet her at the hospital, just a dead brother, ex-wife, elderly unwell parents, or work colleagues.

"I'm sorry" Simon apologised

"It's okay, there's nobody to call. Its fine, I'm okay" Arizona lied. "What day is it?" she asked forgetting about the 2 previous times she had asked,

"Its Sunday" Simon repeated patiently,

"Where are we?"

"Dillard, did you hit your head he asked concerned gently feeling her skull, he could see the cut on her temple and could feel another 2 wounds on the back of her head. Arizona nodded regretting it as the movement caused her to vomit again.

"Don't worry I'll stay with you for a bit, my partner has gone to get our trolley, I'm going to dress your neck, your head, and your wrist, are there any other wounds I need to look at?" he asked, Arizona shook her head no.

"Okay, here can I help you onto the stretcher?" Simon asked, Arizona hesitated not wanting anyone else to touch her,

"I can do it" she insisted stubbornly trying to stand feeling dizzier than she thought possible, luckily Simon was there to catch her easily guiding her to the trolley.

"Let's get you to the truck, when did you last eat, or drink?" Simon asked wheeling her out of her prison, a female police officer following.

"I had water, sips, when Graham wanted to, I had a cereal bar, before the drugs," Arizona recalled, truthfully the last few days were blurring into one.

"Okay let's get you an IV" Simon offered; Arizona held her arm out feeling the pinch of the IV then the coolness of the fluid entering her vein. She closed her eyes feeling exhausted.

"Dr Robbins?" the police officer asked, from the bottom of the trolley. "I'm Claudia I'm one of the police officers. I have dispatch on the phone, there is a Miranda Bailey asking for an update. They contacted her asking for your patient data." She explained asking permission to share the information. "Apparently she is being quite insistent"

Arizona smiled at that she could imagine how insistent Bailey was being.

"Can I borrow your phone?" She asked Claudia. Claudia nodded handing over a mobile. Arizona dialled Grey Sloan asking switch to put her through to Miranda's mobile

"Robbins, there better be a good reason the police swooped in here demanding your patient records, they said you authorised it" Miranda asked sounding angry.

"There was," Arizona replied, feeling very nauseous again, she handed the phone over to Claudia, reaching for the vomit bowl. Claudia continued to speak to Bailey.

"Sorry, she is vomiting, we think it's her concussion" Claudia explained, Arizona couldn't hear what Bailey said back. Instead focusing on trying not to vomit again closing her eyes.

"Graham Maddox is under arrest for the suspicion of kidnap, and assault of 4 women Dr Robbins included" Arizona groaned she didn't want Bailey to know that.

"They're taking her to Packwood North." She covered the mouthpiece "Bailey wants her at Seattle Grace"

"No" Arizona cried, she couldn't face her colleagues, all of them knowing what had happened, seeing the bite marks the bruises. It would be humiliating. The lesbian slut, roughed up by a bad date, she could imagine the gossip mill now. It would be easier to go somewhere new.

"Dr Robbins is refusing" Claudia told Bailey. Arizona could hear her shouting.

"Please hang up" Arizona ordered the noise hurting her head. Claudia obeyed.

"Let's get you to hospital" Simon said patting her hand. Banging on the front so his partner knew it was safe to drive away.

Okay Arizona is safe, and the darkest writing is over, but this is just the start of her journey
