Viper started to go over his rules for the year including the new Bio-Bands stating that each students must have an active Dueling Record of 50 or above, and if caught having lower then their expelled with an added rule that if any student is caught trying to take off his or her Bio-Band their expelled on the spot with no exceptions.
"An active record of 50 wins or better? You're forcing the students to fight for their survival at Duel Academy against their friends and classmates." Yuzu pointed out.
"It's how I treated West Academy, and look at what it result in. A successful Dueling School." Viper told her.
"Chancellor Sheppard, you can't possibly approve of this." she pointed out. "Required remedial lessons or some reasonable punishment fine but expulsion? That's going too far!"
"Now now Yuzu. I'm sure Professor Viper knows what he's talking about." Sheppard told her to calm her down.
She frowned. "I understand, I can't say I approve but if you think it's for the best."
"But there are special changes required for several students." Viper added to them listing some names, "Kanji Tatsumi, Rise Kujikawa, Yosuke Hanamura, Teddie Hanamura, Natoto Shirogane, Chie Satonaka, Yukiko Amagi step forward."
Confused the seven of them stepped forward.
"All seven of you including Yu during your years here have unacceptable records, and got easy treatment. But to be frank, your kind of abilities, and cards are not that well known, and you might think you can get the same treatment here. But now we're playing by the new rules so I'll give you only one chance. For now on you cannot refuse any Duel Request, and use the power of your abilities at your fullest or else you, and Yu are all expelled." Viper told them shocking the many people in the room.
"What the hell?" Kanji questioned glaring at him.
"That's simply impossible." Naoto stated calmly. "While I fully admit we haven't participated in as many duels as some of our peers we can't agree to your terms."
"I don't care whatever your reason is rules are rules, and I intend to keep it that way. If you want to complain don't bother, that's how things are going to be as long as I'm here." Viper stated coldly, "Inform your precious Yu of these cause he has the worst record out of you all, and I am looking to change that, or kick him out if he doesn't improve."
"Then I assume the same applies to the four of us as well?" Zane inquired stepping forward with Syrus, Jaden, and Aster.
"You four have steady records with the same abilities as them. What separates you from them is strength, and their weaker then you four." Viper stated bluntly, "For now on work on your Dueling Skills, and be as strong as all of you can be to your heart's content."
The seven members of the Investigation Team exchanged a nervous glance at that as the assembly ended.
"If I had known Viper was gonna be like that we would have not improve of the Chancellor's Decision." Yuzu admitted to the group a few minutes later.
"We can't go through with this... especially not Yu or Jaden... they could die." Yosuke frowned. "Not to mention there are still Shadows on the island."
"I'll see what I can do to change Viper's mind. You all just focus on the Shadows, and if challenged to duels try to end it quick." Yuzu told the Team, "And BE careful, I don't know what this whole 'Bio-Band' business is about but there is something I don't like about them."
"Right." Rise nodded.
Unaware to them Axel was spying from a hall before he walked out as he bumped into Yu, "Excuse me."
Axel continued walking undisturbed. Yu frowned before going back into his room.
Meanwhile...
Axel entered an office as Viper asked, "The Team...?"
"Their up to something about Shadows, and such along with being suspicious of the Bio-Bands." Axel admitted to him, "About something involving them but..."
"But they don't know what it is, of course. Now I need you to do something." Viper said handing a file that has a picture named 'Yu Narukami'.
"Hey I seen him." Axel admitted at this.
Viper told him, "Then it shouldn't be hard for you to duel him."
"But Professor, even with the new rules he may not be willing." Axel admitted to him.
Viper instructed, "Use whatever means necessary that make him want to duel. Including hostages."
Axel while looking shocked gave a salute, "Understood."
He walked out as Viper smirked to his laptop.
Meanwhile...
After they arranged themselves Blair, and Nanako are both the only students of the Slifer Dorm with Pharaoh around, and Yuzu checking in on them once, and a while. Nanako still feels bad about Yu though looking down.
"Blair... maybe I should leave." Nanako admitted sadly. "It upsets big bro that I'm here."
"Oh, don't worry Nanako. I'm sure he'll come around. We kept you safe for this long so he'll see that no harm will come sooner." Blair said hugging her.
"But... I don't think he wants me here." Nanako admitted.
"He's just worried about you. But I protected you this long, and I'll continue to do it." Blair smiled to her.
Nanako looked down. "Do you think it's because of when I had to go to the doctor?"
"Hey don't worry yourself. Yu will see that you won't he hurt again." Blair smiled to her.
Nanako hearing that stared at her before the door was knocked. Blair blinked before walking over to open the door. It was Axel who asked to the point, "Are you Nanako Dojima?"
"No." Blair answered.
"Is she here? This concerns her brother." Axel asked her.
"Big bro, what's wrong?" Nanako asked walking up to him. "Is he ok?"
"I need your help with something." Axel told her as they stared.
Later at Night...
Yuzu knocked on Yu's door holding a letter, "Yu!"
Just like always there was no answer.
"Yu, this is about Nanako!" Yuzu said to him.
The door shot open. "What's going on?"
Yuzu handed him the letter as he looked.
'Yu Narumaki.
You don't know me but we met when we bumped into each other. My name is Axel Brodie, and long story short, your sister is with me at a cliff to the ocean. Don't worry she's not harmed for now, but I suggest you get here now before she gets a long drop to the water below, and Duel Me. You have 5 minutes.

Yu's eyes widened before he shoved past Yuzu and sprinted to the cliff. "Nanako!"
"What's going on!?" Yosuke asked following him as the Team does so.
Soon they reached the cliff at night where Axel stepped forward with his arms crossed.
"Where is she?" Yu questioned.
"She's behind me right now. But first things first your Yu correct?" Axel asked him.
Yu ignored him. "Nanako?"
Axel only tched before showing on a screen is Nanako who passed out was hanging from a branch to the ocean.
"Nana-chan!" Teddie panicked.
"You monster, she's just a little girl!" Chie snapped.
"Now unless you listen I'll cut this rope on her with a simple press." Axel warned Yu, "Now again, are you Yu?"
Yu frowned before nodding only to glance at Yosuke.
"Come Takehaya Susano-o!" Yosuke called summoning his Persona. "Help's coming Nanako-chan!"
"Ah ah ah!" Axel warned his finger over a button which made Sasano-o stop, "One more inch, and she falls! Dispel that Persona right now."
Yu glared at Axel. "What do you want?"
"Didn't you read what my letter says? We duel right now." Axel told him taking a beige pistol from the gun holster before it shaped into a Duel Disk, "I knew that even with the new rules you'll say no, so I have to resort to using Nanako."
"You want a duel, then duel me!" Jaden told him.
"My only opponent is Yu not you Jaden. Your chance will come sooner but the new rules state that Yu can't refuse my Duel Request." Axel stated to him.
Yu frowned at that before reluctantly activating his Duel Disk. "Let Nanako go."
"Only when the duel's over. If I do, you'll just run with her." Axel told him, "I'm not as stupid as I look."
"Fine." Yu relented. 'I'll just forfeit, then he'll let her go or if not Yosuke can save her.'
"And by the way no surrenders or forferiting." Axel added to him, "Duel like you mean it or else she'll fall."
Yu frowned more drawing his cards only to look down.

"I'll go first." Axel said drawing, "And I'll summon Volcanic Slicer!"
The same flaming lizard from Jasmine, and Teddie's duel with Blaze, and T-Bone appeared screeching.

"Izanagi-No-Okami's special ability, you take damage equal to the total attack points of all the monsters in my hand." Yu told Axel revealing three cards, "I have Hierophant Persona Kohryu, Aeon Persona Kaguya Hime, and Justice Persona Sraosha. That's 8800 points of damage."
"Not when, I activate the trap, Hyper Burning!" Axel called.

"I draw!" Axel called drawing, "And I activate Card Destruction!"

Yu's eyes widened staring at the three cards in his hand. Axel discarded his cards, and redraw.
"That means Okami will deal less damage." Jaden said hearing that, "At least it doesn't count as destroying them in battle so Yu's okay."
Yu looked down before discarding his three monsters and drawing new cards.
"And now as Volcanic Scattershot was sent to the graveyard, you take 500 points of damage!" Axel called as a flaming lizard with two heads charged at Yu.
Yu winced from the flames.

"And now, I activate Blaze Accelerator." Axel said as a small machine appeared.

"By sending Volcanic Shell from my hand to the graveyard as it's points are lower then 500, your monster's destroyed!" Axel called discarding a card as the machine fired a stream of fire at Okami.
"I play Angelic Grace!" Yu called quickly.

Shell vanished as Jaden wiped his forehead, "That was close."
"I'm just getting started. In the graveyard once per turn, I can pay 500 points to add a second Volcanic Shell to my hand." Axel said as he glowed red again adding a card. (Axel: 1500)
"Oh no!" Chie panicked.
"And now I use Accelerator's effect again!" Axel said discarding his new shell as the machine fired again. The blast his Izanagi-No-Okami causing Yu to scream in agony as it shattered and he collapsed. His Duel Disk hummed bright, and with the advanced smarts from the Kirijo Group it healed Yu completely. Yu got up but still looked to be in agonizing pain.
"But it wasn't destroyed by an attack." Jessica mentioned not heard about Okami being different.
"It's because Izanagi-No-Okami is different from the others. A lot different." Naoto explained.
"And to turn on the heat more, I summon Volcanic Rocket." Axel said as a bullet like pyro monster appeared.

Axel explained, "If I used Blaze Accelerator's ability, I cannot attack that turn."

Yu drew his card only for his eyes to widen before glancing at Axel's field. Axel has Blaze Accelerator face-up with a set card, and Volcanic Rocket face-up.
Yu looked at the field before closing his eyes. "I summon Lovers Persona Undine with her ability."

Suddenly something grabbed Nanako. Seeing that Axel's eyes widen.
"Got her." Syrus mentioned as Submarineroid carried Nanako to safety.
That was before his eyes widen... It was a dummy that looks like Nanako.
"What?" Syrus asked in horror.
"Where is she you punk?" Kanji questioned.
"Relax. Nanako you can come out now." Axel said as from the brushes emerged Nanako, and Blair.
"Nanako-chan!" Chie cried as the Investigation Team ran to her.
"Are you alright, he didn't hurt you did he?" Yosuke asked.
"No he didn't. He said he can help Big Bro." Nanako answered.
"Help... Nanako he pretended he was going to kill you." Kanji told her.
"I know he wouldn't hurt her." Blair told him, "Axel told us his plan..."
Flashback...
"I got an idea to help your brother come out of his shell, and not get expelled." Axel told the two girls in the Dorm as they sat down.
"Really?" Nanako asked hearing that only to look down. "Really?"
"Really really. But the one thing I need is your cooperation." Axel told her rubbing her head.
"If it can help big bro I'll do it." Nanako offered. "What do I have to do?"
"Stay still." Axel said holding a tablet as the camera scanned Nanako's face, "What we're doing is feigning a scenario so that he can come. By using a puppet that looks like you, and by me challenging him his love for you will shine through, and will both get him back to normal, and still be in the School."
Nanako blinked hearing that. "Oh... well ok, if you say so."
"You, and Blair can watch but don't come out until I tell you two too." Axel said before saying, "Oh, and I wouldn't do anything to hurt you so don't get the wrong idea by the scenario."
With that they walked out.
Flashback End...
"Nanako, you did that for Yu?" Yukiko asked in surprise.
Nanako nodded, "I want the old big bro back. Him to be active, and kind not held back, and... inclusive."
"Nanako..." Yu frowned hearing that only to look down.
"And no thanks to Truesdale that failed." Axel said glaring at Syrus.
Yu stared at them before turning to Axel. "Well? It's your move isn't it?"
Axel blinked at this before saying, "I send Blaze Accelerator to the grave to activate Tri-Blaze Accelerator!"
At that a three headed cannon appeared.

"And now, I'll send Volcanic Hammerer from my Hand to the graveyard to use it's ability, and destroy your monster, and deal you 500 points of damage." Axel said as a huge monster charged at Yu, "Due to Angelic Grace that is negated."
The blast was blocked.
"Though again by using Shell's ability, I pay 500 points to add another Shell." Axel said adding the card only to discard it as Shell charged as Undine. (Axel: 1000)
Yu winced as the monster shattered.

"Like Blaze Accelerator, I can't attack the turn I used it." Axel continued to them, "Your move Yu."

Yu drew his card only to smile. "I activate Samarcarm. It revives Sraosha from my graveyard."

'You got what you wanted Viper.' Axel thought before saying, "Great fight Yu, and... Sorry for working your nerves. Your sister needed your old self back."
Yu frowned. "No... I should have figured it out a long..."
Suddenly the Bio-Bands started glowing.
"Wha... Something's wrong." Axel said suddenly out of breath kneeling.
"Guys!" Chie panicked.
"Sumeo-Okami, Salvation!" Yukiko called as a glow enveloped Yu and Axel.
At that they both recovered breathing as Axel looked at his Bio-Band, 'That... I never experienced anything like that at West Academy.'
"What happened?" Yu questioned looking at his.
"Are you okay big bro?" Nanako asked running to him.
Yu was breathing heavily. "I... I think so."
He then hugged Nanako. Nanako blinked before hugging him back.
"I'm sorry." he whispered.
"...It's not me you should apologized too." Nanako told him before adding, "It's Marie."
"I doubt I can." Yu admitted. "She's... not exactly going to forgive me."
Nanako pulled back taking his shoulders, "You'll never know unless you try."
He stared at her before closing his eyes. "Ok, if I can find her."
"So turns out it worked." Axel said standing up walking to Nanako, "He's out of his shell."
"Yeah, thanks." she smiled happily.
Blair patted her back, "See? Just like I told ya Nanako, Yu came around."
She smiled at that.
"Still, what happened after that duel?" Chie asked.
"I'm not sure. The Survival Duels were never like that." Axel admitted staring at his Bio-Band.
"I don't like this, we should inform Chancellor Sheppard." Naoto mentioned.
"I don't know. We still got the Shadows to worry about." Yosuke admitted.
Axel said to them, "You did mention the Shadows before. What are they?"
"The vast majority of Shadows are suppressed human emotion given physical form, they take the form of monsters that attack based on pure instinct." Naoto answered. "In rare circumstances individuals who come to accept their Shadow can awaken to a new power known as Persona. It's what happened to us when we were... during a serial murder case in our hometown."
Yu flinched at that before glancing at Nanako and taking a small breath.
"Well, I don't get much of them but you need a tough soldier on your side." Axel said raising up, "I helped Nanako, and Yu by extension so I'll help you out."
"We appreciate the offer, but I wasn't finished." Naoto told him. "The real danger is the third kind of Shadow on this island, the aspects of Death. If my count is right there should be six left and if they're all destroyed it will mean the end of the world."
"So shouldn't we focus on sealing one?" Axel asked them, "If you seal one of them, and destroy the rest then it won't happen ever."
"We're... still trying to figure out how we can do that and we need to keep everyone safe." Yosuke admitted.
"Like I said you got a soldier on your side." Axel repeated to them.
Yu nodded at that.
Ulrich362: Short chapter, but things seem to be looking up. Well except the fact that Viper's clearly up to something.
