Max let a yelp out as he was slammed into the ground, having to take on one of Belle Reve's escapees that decided to join Dread after his mass breakout. Honestly, I don't think anyone saw what his arch-enemy had up his sleeve. Still, he had to stop him, he just wished he had a better Turbo Mode to deal with who it was fighting than his regular Steel Suit. Before he could go on the attack, a ray of ice struck his legs, freezing them to the ground, followed by his arms. Leaving him in a crouched position and unable to break out thanks to some low Turbo reserves. Max glanced up at the person responsible for freezing him.
Kneeling down in front of him, Killer Frost grabbed hold of Max Steel's helmet with both hands and used her powers to freeze it. Once it was fully frozen, she encased her fist in ice and then punched Max square in the face, causing his helmet to shatter. The only saving grace was the fact that both the villainess and he were alone, so no one else would see his face.
"I see you have some boyish charm underneath that mask," noted Crystal Frost, smiling seductively while dragging her nails across his suit's chest plate, "Too bad Cheshire isn't here right now. Word is she has a soft spot for you."
"Yeah, well, I'm spoken for now," retorted Max as he tried breaking free from the ice, "Besides, how do you know about Cheshire?"
"Bad guys and girls are people just like heroes, so hearing about gossip shouldn't be a surprise," explained the cryokinetic as she leaned in closer to Max's face cupping his chin with her left hand, the hero internally shivering at how cold her touch was.
"Which is why I'd like to see if you're as good a kisser as Cheshire says you are," smiled Killer Frost before leaning all the way in and pressing her icy cold lips against his, causing Max's eyes to widen in shock as she hungrily tasted his lips, "Mmmhhmhh."
Her tongue forced the hero's mouth open and allowed her icy breath down his throat and into his lungs. Normally, she'd just freeze whoever it was she was kissing and be done with it, but from what she's heard, she'd want to make this last, and if she was being honest, she did find Max rather cute under the helmet. She also decided to go this way if only to stick it to Max's green friend, Fire. Something about that girl just annoyed her.
"Hmph... mmmhh!" Killer Frost hummed into Max's mouth, her eyes closed, but she knew how fast it took to freeze a person solid, she had plenty of practice. So she didn't need to see to know that by now, Max's core temperature was getting dangerously low. In fact, these thoughts were predominantly in the back of her head as she was more focused on tasting his saliva as she deepened the kiss, taking her right hand that was on his chest and placing it on his shoulder while her left went to the back of his head.
However, while Killer Frost seemed to be enjoying herself, Max wasn't so much as he was struggling to keep himself focused. Under normal circumstances, he wouldn't mind a kiss like this from his girlfriend, but having to lock lips with someone who could freeze a person's head with just a kiss took away the appeal pretty quick. Not to mention, the growing cold he felt in his chest getting worse and more painful. He could feel his vision blurring slightly, but he had to admit, this was an interesting way to go, or at least it would have been if Frost wasn't suddenly tackled by a very angry Fire in her fire form.
"WHAT THE HELL ARE DOING TO HIM, CADELA?!" Fire screamed as she slammed Killer Frost into a nearby wall, holding her by the throat.
"Just... making... his last... day... memorable," Frost choked out, which only earned her a harsh punch to the jaw from the enraged Brazilian which knocked her unconscious.
"Remind me not to get you mad," commented Steel as he flew over to Max while Fire rushed over as well.
"How is he?" asked Beatriz worriedly as she used her powers to melt the ice off Max and gently lay him down. It was pretty obvious that if she hadn't taken down Frost, Max Steel would have likely frozen from the inside out based on how blue his face was. You could even see mist coming out of his mouth, indicating just how cold he was.
"His body's core temperature is dangerously low," informed Steel with a tone of urgency in his voice after a quick scan, "We need to warm him up, fast."
Fire nodded before she slowly raised him up into a kneeling position with her.
"F-F-Fire?" Max shivered, being coherent enough to recognize her.
"Shh, it's okay... I got you, Max...," hushed Fire as she gently raised Max's chin with her left hand while her right held him close to her, "I've got you."
Once she had Max in a comfortable position, she leaned in a gave Max a kiss of her own, surprising the Linked hero, but he didn't resist as he felt a soothing warmth enter him. The cold that was in his chest was gradually replaced by a much more desired heat, that slowly brought his core temperature up. Fire had to take her time, otherwise, she might damage Max's lungs given how cold they had once been.
It took about five minutes before Fire didn't feel Max shiver anymore.
After a few more moments, Beatriz broke the lip lock, but not her hold on Max, keeping him close to herself, using the barest minimum of her powers to warm him up. It was after a moment Max realized that his head was resting right in the middle of Fire's bust.
"Uh, Bea-," Max started, but was quickly cut off.
"No talking, Max," stated the emerald-haired heroine as she pulled him in closer, running her fingers through his hair, "Just... just rest..."
While Steel didn't really get relationships all that much, despite hitting on nearly every machine he encountered, he knew that right now, it was best he not say anything.
Okay, so this is the last sneak peek I'll be doing before posting the actual story. I just wanted to say a final few things before the story actually begins.
For one, I decided to ultimately go with the Fire and Max pairing, mainly because it'll be less complicated than trying to build a relationship with Cheshire. However, that isn't to say I'm dropping the two of them entirely. Like I said before, I'll give them a relationship, but it'll be more playful and flirty (A Batman and Catwoman dynamic) while making a more romantic relationship with Fire and Max. That being said, there will be some sexual acts between the two, basically teasing, Cheshire making advances, Max reciprocating them until he officially starts dating Fire, but full-on lemons will be reserved for Fire and Max, which brings me to the rating of the story.
Originally, I said I would make this story rated T from the beginning then change it to M, but I decided it would be better to have it rated M from the start. Simpler that way. I'll also give a heads up for sexual acts in chapters. Also, this might just be me being a degenerate, but I will do some INTERESTING things here and there, like teases and such. So don't be too surprised to see some things like sex toys or similarly steamy/sexual things in the story.
This leads me to a rather interesting choice I'm on the fence for. Since I'm including Fire in the story, I obviously have to include Ice, since you can't have one without the other. That being said, I can't decide if it's out of character for them to "share" Max at least once, but because they haven't seen media for a while, I can't really say what would be in character and what wouldn't. I do have a general idea for how I want to characterize them. Fire will be more mature, but still fun, while Ice will be a bit more flirty and open about herself. But still, should I go for it or Nah?
Either way, talking about other characters leads me to the second thing I wanted to say. I do intend to include other characters from the DC universe, so don't be surprised to see certain chapters that would have been episodes in the timeline of YJ being replaced with OC chapters. Also, I intend to give Max a wide friend pool. I do intend to give Ben three main female friends outside those on The Team. I was thinking of making those friends Tora, obviously because she is Fire's friend and Donna Troy as she does make an appearance in Young Justice. I also plan to give Fire some notable villain enemies. From this sneak peek, you can guess who one of them is pretty easy.
That's really all I have to say right now.
