Author Note: It is time for the third chapter of this story. I hope that you enjoy it. I am not sure about how many more chapters there will be. We are trying to go every other weekend with a new chapter to both this story and Blindspot story.

Chapter 3

"Are you nervous to see Miles again?" Katie asked her husband.

"More than you know." Bass responded to her with a smile. "I know that we can work together to take these guys down."

"Then what will happen?" Katie asked her husband.

"We will welcome our baby into the world and be happy. I will leave Miles alone after he helps me find my other child." Bass revealed to his wife.

"Bass, I have thought a lot about your child with Emma. I wonder if you should just leave him alone. He doesn't know who you are." Katie said to her husband. She hoped that he would not get mad that she was stating that.

"I don't know. I just want to meet him." Bass said to her as Charlie started to walk up the hill. "It's time. Your brother is here."

"Bass, what are you doing here?" Miles asked his former best-friend as he gave his sister a hug.

"A few days ago, Charlie and I were kidnapped by these bounty hunters. I found these papers. They are hunting us all. We need to take them down." Bass responded to his friend.

"I know that they are not good news. I am trying to work with the Texans to turn against them, but I need proof of it." Miles responded to him.

"Then let's get it figure out." Bass revealed to his friend.

"You know that this is mostly likely a bad idea." Miles said to his friend.

"Oh yeah but it needs to be done. We need to protect both of our families." Bass responded to him. "By the looks of it that you need me more than I need you. Look at your hand, Miles."

"I know Bass but here is the thing. You killed Danny." Miles responded to his friend. "I am not sure on how Rachel is going to react by this. I am pretty sure that she is not going to be happy with it and frankly neither am I."

"Miles, listen you do not need to keep me safe from Rachel. I hurt Katie so bad when she found out that I went after you. I know that I can't change what happen, but I do want to make things right between all of us." Bass responded to him. "Maybe this is a good first step on getting our family back together."

"I doubt that but let's go home. I am pretty much going to die a quick death because of you." Miles responded to his friend.

"Don't worry but I am sure that I am first." Bass said as he was walking behind Katie and Charlie.

They got back closer to the town and Miles was just going to have Bass outside of town since it was not safe for him to be in town. Katie pulled Miles aside to tell her brother something.

"Miles, are you sure that he is going to be safe?" Katie asked her brother.

"Bass can take care of himself and plus they all know who he is so he can't come into town." Miles responded to his sister. "Lucky for us that they barely know you from the republic so we can use it to our advance."

"I am surprised that they are allowing you to be in town because both of you were out." Katie responded to him as Charlie came walking up.

"Alright he is settled for the most part. Are you ready to go in and see Rachel?" Charlie said to her aunt.

"Yeah let's go." Katie responded to her niece with a smile. They walked into town not knowing that things would soon change.

Charlie, Miles and Katie walked into Gene's house. Katie knew that it was going to be weird since she was married to Bass but she hoped that with her relationships with her brothers would work out the feelings that both Rachel and Gene would have against her.

"Hi Gene." She said to him.

"Katie, what are you doing here?" Rachel asked her sister-in-law. The last time that she saw her was when she was leaving the tower with Bass.

"I did not know that Bass had Danny killed. I am so sorry for siding with him." Katie said to her.

"So you thought that you would come into my house to make amends for siding with that murderer?" Gene asked her.

"I know that it might take a lot of working out these feelings and I get that you are angry with me. I am just angry with both myself and Bass. I decided to leave my husband." Katie revealed to them.

"It doesn't make up for the fact that he had killed my grandson but I am glad to see you waking up to him." Gene responded to her as they all sat down.

Katie felt bad for keeping her pregnancy a secret from everyone in the room but knew that it was the right thing to do for now. Later that night, Miles came walking into the room that his sister was in.

"I know that you are nervous with Rachel finding out about him but it's going to be okay. I promise you that." Miles revealed in a whisper.

"How can you be sure? We both know that Rachel hates him and I honestly don't blame her. He has done a lot of damaged to this family. First our brother, Ben, and then Danny. What more can one family take?" Katie responded to her brother in a whisper. "We both know that Bass gave the order that got both of the boys killed. He needs to pay for his crimes against this family."

"Yes, I know but we will figure this out." Miles responded to her.

Author Note: It's time to end this new chapter. We will be writing chapter 4 and should have the new chapter out in two weeks. I am off to write the new chapter for She stole my daughter.
