After making the call everyone arrived at the Investigation Dorm arriving down in a small room which Chumley, Syrus, Jaden, and Alexis recognized is the room where Jaden defeated that Shadow Duelist that Dr. Crowler employed to scare Jaden off. They didn't know the intentions of that Shadow Duelist, and why he was there but he was after Jaden for something.
They find Atticus was already there wearing a familiar coat.
"Atticus, are you sure about this?" Zane asked him.
Atticus turned over to them nodding, "I'm sure. There's no other way for me to know for sure... And I need to experience the darkness again for me to find out." He pulls out a familiar mask at this which everyone recognizes is Nightshroud's mask whenever he takes over Atticus.
Alexis frowned seeing it but nodded knowing it was their only option. Atticus then turned over to Jaden, and Yu, "And listen you two. For us to find out for sure use your full strength. Use every aspect of the Wild Card on me. Fight me like I am your mortal enemy."
"Atticus... Your barely able to handle the power of the Wild Card let alone two at once. Are you sure?" Jaden asked him worried.
Atticus nodded, "I'm sure. I trust you two with this." With that Atticus places the mask on, "Now let us begin here, and now."
"This is going to be dangerous, we should all move back." Rise mentioned nervously.
They all stepped back as they all readied themselves.

Erebus, and all!" That definitely proves he isn't holding back against Jaden, and Yu, and they shouldn't either.
"Alright Atticus... We won't hold back against you." Jaden nodded promising that.
"I won't either. I'll use every ounce of my power against you so you can remember." Yu agreed with a nod himself.
Atticus smiled before saying, "Thank you." He then prepared, "Okay let's get started!" He grabbed a card smacking it down, "I summon Black Dragon's Chick!"
The jeweled egg rose before the chick broke out squaking.

What rose in front of Yu was a red skinned tribal like witch with long black hair, and long black nail like claws wearing tribal clothes, and something in her mouth.

Jaden frowned seeing that. Atticus raised a card, "I sacrifice Red-Eyes!" Red-Eyes roared loud as darkness coated it before Atticus placed down the card, "I summon Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon!"
At that the dragon was enveloped before it gained a new look. It was the same dragon when Jaden fought Nightshroud those years ago, and Zane to test the Cyberdark cards roaring.

"Atticus!" Alexis cried seeing that.
Atticus slowly raises up looking at them while Jaden grabs a card, "Next I use the spell, Contact Out!"

Jaden points at Atticus, "Alright Neos attack Atticus directly!"

"Atticus won't go down that easily." Zane noted. "Still, Jaden dealt an impressive blow already."
"But is it just me or does it seem Jaden's style is different then before? It was like he tried ending the duel quick." Axel brought up a point from seeing that.
"Something's wrong, hopefully it isn't her influencing him." Rise admitted.
They looked at Jaden worried which he has a out of character serious look not looking like he is having any fun. Did something happen over the passed few months?
Jaden then pointed at Air Hummingbird, "Then I use Air Hummingbird's ability! Diarama!" Yu's cards in his hand grew flowers which Air Hummingbird pecked at them, "For every card in Yu's hand, I gain 500 life points." (Jaden: 4000/Hand: 3) He then places down a set card, "I end my turn by placing 1 card face-down."

"Then it's my turn again, I draw!" Atticus drew taking his second turn looking which the card gave out more darkness vibes.
"Something dangerous is happening to him." Bastion frowned before closing his eyes. "Persona!"
The Amazoness Princess appeared above him as he tried focusing on Atticus. Atticus stared before raising the card, "I banish Black Metal Dragon!" The dragon glowed in darkness before roaring vanishing as darkness by what seemed like shadows started to merge above Atticus.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Yu frowned.
They started to notice the mask on Atticus is growing darkness vines around him while his hair starts to get crazy looking as he shuddered from the aura on him.
"Atticus!" Alexis cried seeing her brother like that.
"Come... Red-Eyes DARKNESS METAL DRAGON!"
What formed from the darkness above was a new dragon. It was Darkness Dragon in a new form entirely encased in black silver armor with orange linings around it flying above before roaring loud.

"Atticus!" Alexis cried seeing that.
"What the hell's going on?" Kanji questioned.
"So... we all meet again." Atticus (?) spoke of the shadow as it rose up off the ground, "It had been a while. I can see you all are here in the Darkness Dorm, the place where I was first summoned by your 'sempai' Yusuke Fujiwara."
"Nightshroud." Jaden frowned.
(Cue Theme: Borderline of Madness)
"Shouldn't be a surprise you see me as is..." Nightshroud spoke from Atticus, "And I am correct to assume you came here to the Darkness Dorm for some answers concerning my top soldier, Trueman?"
"That's right." Yu nodded. "He's a Shadow isn't he?"
"In a matter of speaking..." Nightshroud answered with a nod, "He's created from the darkness of the cards you all wield. Duel Spirits such as us also have Shadows in them in a more important matter. Should the darkness overwhelm them, he manifests as the whole Shadow of the Duel Monster Spirit World itself, and rules as my enforcer of the World of Darkness."
"World of Darkness?" Chie asked.
"The very same world I rule in. The same world, I had created." Nightshroud explained to them. "A world where Despair, and Anguish can be granted to humanity. As told by your Duel Spirit, Honest, it is the cause of your classmates disappearing from this dorm as my summoning had been called on."
He then shake his head, "All done by your precious sempai that your looking for. He simply wished for despair in his life to forget the pain of his life. I merely granted that wish for him, and granted it to several others that are with him. And now that the Darkness had been built to max now it should be time for the World of Darkness to cross over into the real world for everyone to give what they wanted for so long. The call for darkness, and to live in despair to forget the pain of there existence."
"Forget it, people won't do that!" Teddie yelled at him. "We can help Yusuke."
"Fool don't you see?" Nightshroud asked him. "Everything you humans care for are the leading cause of your suffering. Bonds. Hope. Individuality. All these things that humans are so fond of are the leading causes for despair. They are sicknesses that can wound a person's heart, and causes them suffering. I am not ending humanity, I am saving it from these sorts of things by giving them complete nullification never feeling hope nor despair. That is the wish of true peace humanity wishes for."
Naoto frowned. "We simply can't allow you to do that."
"Blah, blah, blah, we all already heard that from Izanami, and Ameno-Sagiri! 'Humanity wishes for true peace by everlasting darkness', we all get it! It doesn't change our resolve, and it never will be!" Chie yelled at Nightshroud. "And we definitely don't need to hear that again from you too! That is why..."
"We will decide our own fate." Yu finished like there battle before Izanami.
Nightshroud stared before saying, "If you believe you can stop me... Then come." With that he readied above as the dragon flapped it's wings which made Jaden, and Yu raise their arms to defend.
"Be careful you two! The situation has grown more dangerous then before!" Bastion warned the two Wild Cards.
"Alright come on Nightshroud!" Jaden called as they readied.
(New Dueling Theme: The Almighty)
"It be foolish to resist humanity's desires. You truly believe you can stop a God of Darkness?" Nightshroud asked them before shrugging, "It does not matter the struggles of humanity are often the faults of ignorance."
"Keep that to yourself! We won't stop until we beat you!" Yosuke snapped at him.
"Now let us begin the end." Nightshroud declared before he called, "Duel Resume!" He raised his arm calling, "I use the spell, Red-Eyes Insight!" A glass shatter sound effect was played as the card was displayed in a big size above him flipping around.

Black Dragon rose up roaring.

Darkness Metal Dragon roared as darkness orbs build around Air Hummingbird which triggered something as he cawed vanishing while Jaden held a hand to his head groaning. (Jaden: 2000/Hand: 2)
"Jaden!" Syrus cried nervously seeing that.
"And now Slash Dragon attack with Agidyne."
Slash Dragon roared charging a fire attack before Nightshroud added, "Slash Dragon now gains 200 attack points due to Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Knight."
The monster formed as armor on Slash Dragon.

"Yu-sempai can find a way to take this guy out." Kanji grinned.
Yu looked checking over his cards before nodding grabbing a card, "I activate the Field Spell, Shadow Dungeon: Void Quest!"
At that what appeared around them was a pixelated colosseum while Nightshroud looked around a bit curious over the appearance of this card.

Yu then called, "Now Rangda attack Slash Dragon! Agidyne!"
Rangda charged power attacking with a fire attack destroying Slash Dragon while Nightshroud stepped back. (Nightshroud: 2100/Hand: 0) Nightshroud only brushes his shoulder, "When Slash Dragon is destroyed all monsters it's equipped with are revived."
At that Gearfried rose up in Defense.
Gearfried the Red-Eyes Iron Soldier: (Defense Position)
"I don't like this, it feels too easy." Naoto frowned.
Yu only pointed, "Yamata-no-Orochi attack Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon with Garula!" The multi-head dragon charged an attack before Yu added, "Then Void Quest's effect activates!"
Suddenly appearing above was a selection box similar to how they see in classic RPGS that said 'Attack', 'Magic', and 'Item'.
"What are you doing now?" Nightshroud questioned.
"When a Persona attacks, I can use it's effect!" The arrow moved down selecting Item before it selected 'Excavation', "Now I excavate my top three cards, and pick which one to add to my hand while shuffling the others back!"
He takes his top three cards looking at them before flipping one which is Marakukaja before placing the other two cards back.
"That'll help." Syrus smiled.
"And now Yamata-no-Orochi attack!" The dragon charged a blast to attack before Yu called, "Void Quest's other effect!"
The selection box went to Magic before selecting 'Protective Barrier' which Yamata-no-Orochi was enveloped in a pink shield.
"What now?" Nightshroud growled.
"Personas can't be destroyed in battle once per turn!" Yu explained before the arrow selected Attack before the arrow appeared on Darkness Metal Dragon just as Yamata-no-Orochi fired a wind attack destroying Darkness Metal Dragon but Yamata-no-Orochi was unharmed from Void Quest protecting it.
"Licious, that gives them a huge advantage." Chumley grinned.
Now on Main Phase 2, Yu activates the card he added, "And to keep that advantage is Marakukaja."

"He can't possibly turn things around now… right?" Chumley asked hopefully.

"But you won't be seeing it for long cause by sending it to the graveyard, I use one of Gearfriend's special abilities." Nightshroud said as Gearfried glowed while Dragon Nails is shed off it.

"Why do I have a bad feeling all of a sudden?" Axel frowned.
"Cause now I destroy a spell or trap card on the field. Like that Void Quest!"
Gearfried fired an attack as Void Quest shattered reverting the field back to normal.
"Big mistake." Rise smiled before shuddering as Syrus took her hand.
"When a Shadow Dungeon is destroyed I add another one to my hand." Yu said searching his Deck before showing a card that shows of what looks like a top secret government lab.
Seeing it Naoto couldn't help but look down with a small blush.
"Well hope you be around to activate it." Nightshroud said to him.
"Actually, he can cause I use my face-down! Field Salvation!" Jaden called using his face-down.

What rose around them was a laboratory room that has surgical devices around.

Naoto blushed more as Kanji took her hand with a reassuring smile.
"Is something wrong?" Jasmine asked Naoto seeing her blushing.
"This was mine." Naoto admitted clearly a bit embarrassed. "When I was thrown into the TV."
"Well I don't activate a Field Spell either. But for us that don't we can summon a Level 4 or lower monster from our Decks." Jaden said to Nightshroud.
Nightshroud takes a card, "I'll summon Red-Eyes Wyvern." At that a small dragon rose up.

The graveyard portal appeared as Darkness Metal Dragon emerged from it back on the field.

"And with it's ability it ain't alone. Samarecarm!"
The graveyard portal appeared as Slash Dragon rose up again growling.

"Oh man, what can they do now?" Syrus asked nervously.
They watched seeing Nightshroud has four monsters. Yamata-no-Orochi is the only card that can block them but as it stands it looks as though it'll be even tougher. Nightshroud pointed ahead, "Now Darkness Dragon attack Rangda with Primal Force!"
Darkness Metal Dragon at that charged forward building energy.
"Do something!" Alexis cried nervously.
Yu grunted as he watched before Rangda got tackled which Yu held his head with both hands getting on both knees in clear agony from what he just felt.
"Big bro!" Nanako cried fearfully seeing that.
Nightshroud seeing Rangda wasn't destroyed blinked, "What? It wasn't destroyed?"
Yu painfully stood back up breathing before looking at Nightshroud with one eye, "With Secret Laboratory... Personas on the field can't be destroyed by your cards."
"But he still was hurt when his Persona was attacked." Zane frowned.
Nightshroud narrowed his eyes hearing that before calling, "If that is the case all of you attack Rangda!"
Gearfried, Slash Dragon, and Wyvern all charged in at Rangda to while the attacks won't destroy her what Zane said will happen. At least it would've been had Yu not used a card, "I use my face-down, Persona Change!"

Rangda vanished before the three can land the attack.
"That was too close." Yukiko admitted nervously.
Yu takes a card placing it down, "So now come Justice Persona Melchizedek!"
At that what rose above him was a angel like superhero that has a blue jumpsuit on with silver wing attachments while having on golden armor readying.

Nanako's eyes widened slightly seeing the new Persona.
"Oh that one..." Yosuke remembered it before asking Teddie from nostalgia, "Do you remember it helped us a bit against Ameno-sagiri thanks to it's healing Ted?"
"Yeah." Teddie nodded with a smile only to pause. "I think it was that one, I don't remember which Personas Sensei used back then though."
Nightshroud growled before calling, "Slash Dragon attack that new angel!" Slash Dragon charged in slashing Melchizedek which Yu winced shaking his head. (Yu: 2700/Hand: 2) But despite the attack it didn't destroy Melchizedek as it shook off the attack, and Nightshroud glared, "I end my turn."

"What?" Nightshroud questioned in shock seeing how strong Magma Neos was.
"And now Magma Neos attack Darkness Metal Dragon! RAGNAROK!"
Magma Neos charged a huge fire pillar destroying Metal Dragon while Nightshroud screamed as the darkness faded restoring Atticus to normal while the mask was destroyed before Atticus knelled.

Alexis ran to Atticus as the duel ended to make sure her brother was alright. Atticus shook his head holding it, "Ah... Lex what happened?"
"Nightshroud took over again, but Jaden and Yu managed to beat him." Alexis answered as the others walked over to him.
"Are you alright Atticus?" Jaden asked offering his hand.
Atticus stared before taking his hand as Jaden helped him up before Atticus grinned, "Well Jaden... I knew I was right to trust you, and Yu about this. Now I'm sure for real about the Progenitor of the World of Darkness, and Yusuke's involvement."
"Then we can save him, just like we saved you." Jaden reassured him.
Atticus nodded with a grin before Yu, and Jaden sensed something as time froze.
"Thou art I... And I am thou...

When time resumed Jaden blinked, "That again..."
Yu just smiled knowingly.
"Alright, what's our next move?" Chie asked with a grin.
Bastion widen his eyes looking out, "Did you sense that Rise?"
"Bastion, Rise can't be sensing things all the time right now remember?" Syrus frowned. "It's not good for her."
"I had to ask her if she is sensing it too." Bastion pointed out to him, "Remember I'm still training, and as long as she doesn't overwork herself she, and your child will be alright."
"He's right, but honestly no I didn't sense anything." Rise admitted.
Bastion frowned, "Well I sensed something just now. And it feels-"
Suddenly the power in the dorm was cut off surprising everyone which Chie shuddered fearful if this is a supernatural thing, "U-Uh, this has to be a-a-a-a power outage, or some bad wiring right?"
"Oh it could be a ghost." Yukiko said getting excited at that.
Bastion however frowned, "That signal just got stronger..." He then looked at them, "And... It feels like one of THEM."
Hearing that everyone exchanged a glance.
"Lead the way Bastion." Jaden mentioned.
They nodded as they moved but Jaden, and Yu noticed the entrance of the Velvet Room just materialized nearby. Exchanging a glance the two of them nodded before walking to enter the Velvet Room.
Ulrich362: It sounds like Jaden maxed out another Social Link... though to be fair he has been building them even before becoming a Wildcard so it makes sense. Oh, and Trueman is working for Nightshroud and there's something called the World of Darkness that's about to envelop the entire world... so, things are going badly.
