After having her Pokemon all healed up, Lyra followed Ash and his friends all the way to Prism Tower, the shining star of Lumious City.
Lyra had Silverstream up on her head, and Riolu was walking by her side, as she looked up at Prism Tower, saying, "There it is! the Lumious City Gym! The sight of our first gym battle"!
Ash, sensing Lyra's excitement, commented, "You sure seemed pumped about your first battle," while his Pikachu chirped in agreement.
Lyra chuckled and answered, "Well, who wouldn't be? My Pokemon and i are all set and ready to battle you, Clemont! But watch out; we're gonna win"!
Silverstream and Riolu all chirped in determination/agreement.
Clemont pushed his glasses back while smiling, saying, "I admire your courage and enthusiasm, Lyra, but I'd be careful not to get too overconfident."
Bonnie added, "Yeah, my big brother's really strong! He may be great at inventing, but he's a tough battler too," while her Dedenne chirped in agreement.
Lyra adjusted her cap while saying, "Hey, I love a challenge! Anything to use as experience to grow as a trainer is fine by me! I'll give it everything I got"!
Serena commented, "Your spirit is almost similar to Ash's."
Lyra chuckled, saying, "I guess so. Now, come on! Let's head inside already"!
Clemont and Bonnie led the way into the Lumious Gym, as the group walked down a series of hallways to arrive at a set of closed doors, with a screen above them. The screen was light blue and had some moving designs, along with a red/white Gym symbol on it, and on each side was a set of speakers.
The speakers soon begin to play what sounded like a robotic voice that announced, "Welcome to the Lumious City Gym. Plase state your name, your hometown, and purpose for being here today."
Lyra looked at Clemont, who nodded, before she announced, "I'm Lyra Yvonne from Santalune City, and i came here to challenge Clemont, the Lumious Gym Leader"!
Serena, hearing Lyra's last name, gasped in shock. But before she could reply, the speakers played the voice again, answering, "Very well. Please come in."
The sliding doors soon opened and revealed the illuminated battlefield, all prepped and ready for a battle. The bleachers on the side were glistening and perfect for sitting in. and currently standing in the middle of the battlefield was a mechanical robot.
The robot seemed to be very well constructed, and it even had a little lightning bolt sticking up at the top of his helmet, like the top of Clemont's hair too.
It saw the group arriving as it turned around and stated in its robotic voice, "Welcome to the Lumious City Gym. Clemont, it is nice to see you again. Are any of your friends challenging you, sir"?
Clemont answered, "Actually, it is this girl right here who made the battle challenge, Clembot," while pointing to Lyra.
Lyra approached Clembot, saying, "Hi there. Wow, I've never seen real-life robot like you before. Anyways, I'm the one who made the challenge. Is that ok"?
Clembot nodded, saying, "Of course."
Clemont then got an idea, saying, "Say, normally, I do three vs three matches, but since you've caught only two Pokemon at the moment, why don't we have a double battle for our gym match"?
Lyra nodded, saying, "You bet! I'm set for any kind of battling style! Silverstream, Riolu, you up for a double battle"?
Riolu nodded while flexing his arm while Silverstream raised her paw and chirped in agreement as well.
Clembot then announced, "In that case, i will be the referee. Will all fellow bystanders please escort to the bleachers to safely watch the match"?
Ash, Bonnie, and Serena walked over to the bleachers and took their seats, before Lyra approached Ash and gave him the Pokeballs that had Chesnaught and Dedenne, saying, "Can you watch over them during our battle"?
Ash nodded, saying, "Sure thing," before Lyra went to take her spot on the battlefield.
Ash let out Chesnaught and Dedenne, with the big grass/fighting type sitting on the front bleacher while Dedenne sat on its shoulder. Ash then told them, "Lyra is about to battle clemont. Make sure you cheer for them as loud as you can."
Chesnaught and Dedenne both nodded and cheered loudly, cheering for Lyra.
Lyra heard her dad's Pokemon cheering for her and smiled, before she tipped her hat and tightened her gloves, saying, "Let's get this party started."
Up on the ceiling, the Meloetta that Lyra met earlier was invisible, but still watching the match from above. It stayed by one of the ceiling lights and peered down below, chirping in concern for how the battle would go.
Lyra stretched her arm out so Silverstream can climb onto her arm, as she said, "Silverstream, Riolu, I choose you both"! Silverstream leaped off her arm and ran onto the battlefield alongside Riolu, both Pokemon set to battle.
Clemont took note of the Pokemon Lyra picked, as he said, "and for my choices, i'm going with you both" Bunnelby and Chespin," while tossing two Pokeballs up into the air, that opened simultaneously.
One Pokemon that appeared was a small bunny-like Pokemon that had gray fur, the tips of its large ears being dark brown and have three finger-like sections each, black eyes, a small pink nose, prominent round cheeks, two tiny whiskers on each cheek, and large upper incisors while its neck was surrounded by a ruff of stiff, brown fur, and there were small brown spots on its hind legs and it has brown toes, along with a fluffy gray tail. It chirped happily and did mini air punches with its ears. Its name was Bunnelby, and despite how cute it looked,d it also looked tough.
The other that appeared was Clemont's Chespin, who was set to battle, puffing its chest out in pride.
Clembot, seeing both sides prepared for battle, announced, "The battle between the Lumious City Gym leader Clemont, and Lyra Yvonne from Santalune City is about to begin. this battle will be a double battle, where each trainer will use two Pokemon simultaneously. The battle is over when both Pokemon on either side are unable to continue."
Ash seemed pumped about the battle, saying, "Clemont, Lyra, give it everything you got," while Pikachu chirped alongside his trainer.
Bonnie cheered, "Go Clemont! Go Lyra," while her Dedenne cheered with her.
Serena was silent for a bit, still taking into consideration about overhearing Lyra's last name.
Clembot then raised its hand up and then down, declaring, "And now, let the battle begin"!
Clemont and Lyra were both ready, as well as their Pokemon. The battle was set to begin!
Lyra shouted, "Time for the first move! Silverstream, use flamethrower on Chespin! Riolu, vacuum wave on Bunnelby"!
Silverstream launched a stream of fire at Chespin while Riolu launched a powerful force of light towards Bunnelby from its fist.
Clemont, however, was ready to counter, saying, "Try this! Bunnelby, counter flamethrower with mud shot! And Chespin, use pin missile against vacuum wave"!
Bunnelby used its ears to launch some mud balls at the flamethrower, neutralizing the attack, while Chespin used its spines to launch some dark gree glowing missiles at the vacuum wave, neutralizing it.
Lyra smirked, saying, "In that case, let's turn it up! Riolu, use double team! Cover Silverstream, and charge at Bunnelby"!
Riolu quickly made copies of itself and while half of them stood around Silverstream to protect her, the other half, including the real one, was charging at Bunnelby.
Clemont seemed a bit taken aback by the tactic, making Lyra say, "Ha! Now, force palm"!
The Riolus charging at Bunnelby readied their palms and were set to launch the move, but Lyra didn't see what Clemont had in mind.
Clemont pushed his glasses before saying, "Bunnelby, fight back with double slap! Chespin, mow the other copies down with vine whip"!
Chespin unleashed a pair of vines that swiped away the other copies and were set to hit Silverstream, who quickly leaped away to dodge, while Bunnelby's ears glowed as it swung at the other copies, making them vanish, before intercepting with the real Riolu's force palm, making a stalemate.
Riolu jumped back towards Silverstream, who scurried forward and was set to fight.
Lyra then said, "Let's try a little isolation! Silverstream, charge at Bunnelby and use iron tail"!
Silverstream's tail became metallic as she leaped high and prepared to hit Bunnelby with it.
Clemont seemed to predict what she was gonna do, saying, "I know that move! Bunnelby, catch it with your ears"!
Bunnelby used its ears to catch Silverstream's iron tail before it could hit, trapping Silverstream...or so Clemont thought.
Lyra then said, "I don't think so! Silverstream, backflip and swing Bunnelby with your tail"!
Silverstream nodded and used her momentum to bend backward, flipping a surprised Bunnelby off the ground and slamming him into it. The collision was enough for Bunnelby to lose its grip and let Silverstream free.
Clemont was surprised to see this tactic being used, while Ash, Serena, and Bonnie were shocked, with Ash saying, "That's a clever way to escape a hold like that," with Pikachu chirping in agreement.
Clemont then commented, "I'm amazed with your quick thinking, but you forgot one thing. Chespin, use vine whip and grab Silverstream"!
Silverstream didn't have any time to react as Chespin snuck up from behind and unleashed a vine whip that wrapped onto her, trapping Silverstream in its vines. With barely being able to escape, Clemont then shouted, "Now, Bunnelby, use mud shot"!
Bunnelby jumped up and launched the move, striking Silverstream hard. The shiny Fennekin whimpered from the super effective hit and being unable to escape.
Lyra gritted her teeth, saying, "Riolu, help Silverstream out! Use vacuum wave on Chespin and get it to release her"!
Riolu readied to use the move, but didn't expect Bunnelby to quickly turn around and respond with a "Wild charge"!
On Clemont's command, Bunnelby became encased with electricity and struck Riolu hard, firing him into the wall. Riolu winced from the damage it took, dropping to its knees, as it felt paralysis settling in.
Meanwhile, while Bunnelby was taking recoil damage, Silverstream shouted at Riolu, trying to see if her teammate was ok.
Lyra then got an idea, smiling while saying, "Silverstream, spin and use dig with Chespin's vines still tied to you"!
Silverstream looked up and nodded, leaping up and spinning, also spinning around a scared Chespin, who was taken underground along with Silverstream, who used dig.
Clemont smiled, saying, "Not bad, but you're not the only one who has dig in their arsenal! Bunnelby, go after Silverstream with dig"!
Bunnelby began to spin around like a drill, using its ears to use dig and burrow underground.
Lyra felt a little worried, saying to herself, "What am I gonna do? Bunnelby can probably track Silverstream underground. I need to fish it out but how"?
Lyra then saw the paralyzed Riolu struggling to its feet, trying to shake off the paralysis, and a new plan formed in her mind. She tipped her hat, saying, "Riolu, sense Bunnelby and use force palm on the ground"!
Riolu nodded and leaped up, using the free chance it had to sense where Bunnelby was, and at the right time, hit the ground with a force palm.
The vibration of the move hitting the ground stirred up the battlefield and made the ground crack open, allowing a huge dust cloud to rise as Bunnelby was launched up into the air, while Silverstream leaped out of the hole, unaffected, while Chespin lost its grip and fell to the ground, landing right next to Bunnelby.
Everyone in the gym was surprised, with Bonnie saying, "Wow, what a strong force palm," while Dedenne chirped in agreement.
Ash got up from his seat, shouting, "Go, Lyra! you can win this," while Pikachu chirped in agreement.
Chesnaught and Dedenne were cheering for Lyra as loud as they could.
Serena even couldn't help but cheer, shouting, "You got this"!
Clemont was surprised, but very impressed, saying, "That was very clever of you! Using Riolu's ability to track aura to track down Bunnelby, even when it was underground"!
Lyra smiled, saying, "And we're not done yet! Silverstream, use flamethrower on Chespin! Riolu, vacuum wave on Bunnelby"!
Silverstream launched a stream of fire with all of her might, as it hit Chespin, enveloping him in flames before it fell over, exhausted.
Riolu used the last bit of free energy it had to shoot a strong vacuum wave at Bunnelby, who got hit hard and dropped to the floor, also exhausted.
Both Chespin and Bunnelby had swirls in their eyes as Clembot saw this and announced, "Chespin and Bunnelby are unable to battle. Fennekin and Riolu are the winners. Therefore, the match goes to Lyra of Santalune City."
Lyra felt so proud, that she smiled, declaring, "We did it! Silverstream, Riolu, we did it"!
Riolu and Silverstream ran to their trainer and leaped into their arms, chirping happily as Lyra hugged them, saying, "You guys were amazing out there! I am so proud of you both! We won our first gym battle together"!
Riolu and Silverstream both chirped and cheered happily.
Riolu offered a fist bump to Silverstream, who smiled and reciprocated it back.
Ash, Serena, and Bonnie came running out onto the battlefield, with Ash saying, "That was an awesome battle," and Serena saying, "Great job, both of you," while Bonnie cheered, "You both looked so cool out there"!
Chesnaught came running to Lyra and enveloping her in a huge hug, one that made Riolu and Silverstream jump out of their trainer's arms so the big Pokemon could hug her.
Lyra giggled when Chesnaught hugged her, along with Dedenne, who nuzzled her cheek, as she said, "Thanks you two for cheering us on, but you also need to thank Riolu and Silverstream for putting on an awesome battle today."
Chesnaught and Dedenne nodded and let Lyra go so they could congratulate Riolu and Silverstream.
Silverstream smiled while wagging her tail while Riolu puffed its chest out in pride.
Clemont then approached Lyra, saying, "Congratulations, Lyra. That was an amazing battle we had today. You and your Pokemon worked really well together."
Lyra smiled, saying, "Thanks, but it's not me you need to congratulate; it's my Pokemon who worked so hard."
Riolu and Silverstream turned around and faced Clemont, smiling at him.
Clemont then said, "In that case, a big congratulations to your Pokemon as well. And as a token of your win, I am proud to present you with the Voltage Badge," while pulling out a small badge from his pocket and giving it to Lyra. The badge was triangular-shaped with a gold rim, orange inside, and lightning bolts sticking out from it.
Lyra accepted the badge proudly, showing it to Silverstream and Riolu, saying, "We did it, you two. We won this...together."
Riolu and Silverstream looked amazed by how the badge looked as Lyra looked at it, feeling really happy.

Lyra held her badge out in front of her.
Lyra: Alright! Our first gym battle's complete...'cause we won the Voltage Badge!
Silverstream and Riolu appeared behind her shoulders and were cheering right alongside her.
(Back to present day)
Meloetta, up above the ceiling, was still invisible, but she had also applauded and was cheering for how splendid the battle was. It was so intense, so epic! So...inspiring!
Lyra placed the badge in the top left corner column of her new badge case, saying, "One down, seven to go."
Ash then commented, "Well, if you're going to go to Laverre City for the Pokemon Showcase, why don't you try the gym there too? That's where we're going for my next gym battle."
Serena then got an idea, asking, "Hey, i know! Lyra, why don't you join us"?
Lyra was a bit surprised by the offer, as Bonnie added, "Yeah, come travel with us! We'll get to go to amazing places together, and we'll have a lot of fun"!
Ash added, "We can train together for our gym battles," while Serena added, "And I can help you with training for the Pokemon Showcase."
Lyra took this into thought before facing her Pokemon, saying, "Well, guys, what do you think? You up for traveling with our new friends"?
Riolu, Silverstream, Chespin, and Dedenne all cheered in agreement.
Lyra smiled and then turned to face the Kalos gang, saying, "Sure, you can count me in"!
Suddenly, there was a loud crash outside that startled the group, making Ash ask, "What's going on"?!
Lyra suggested, "Let's go see," and returned most of her Pokemon to their Pokeballs, letting Silverstream climb back onto the top of her head, as they all rna out of the gym to see what made that crashing sound.
It turned out to be a large Meowth-shaped hot air balloon that was floating in the sky, with some people and Pokemon riding inside of it.
There were two Pokemon. One was a small, bipedal, feline Pokémon that had two cream whiskers on each side of its oval-shaped face and two hairs sticking up on either side of the golden coin-like gem on its forehead, a curled tail, which was e cream-colored like the rest of it, and its feet, but the tip of the tail and the toes of its feet are brown at the end, with small paw pads on the undersides of its heels and toes.
The other Pokemon was a tall, cyan Pokémon with a soft body, its eyes being scrunched, and it had a jagged upper lip, with flat arms that are wider towards the tip and four stubby legs at the base of its body, with two eyespots on its black tail.
Then came the people inside the balloon. One was a male with shoulder-length periwinkle hair with a single fringe sprouting from the center and green eyes that wore a white long sleeve shirt with a large red R on it, a black short sleeve undershirt, white pants with a purple belt, black boots, and matching gloves.
The other was a female with magenta long hair that she wears curled in a comet-tail behind her head, who also wore a pair of green pearl earrings that are meant to complement her blue eyes, and wore a short black shirt that exposes her midriff under a white high collared sleeved shirt emblazoned with a large red R, a white miniskirt, black leg-length boots, and long black arm-sleeves.
Everyone looked up and saw who was in the balloon, with Ash saying, "Not them again," while Lyra asked, "Who are they"?
The female and male seemed to notice the group below and leaped out of the balloon, landing feet-first on the ground, along with the two Pokemon that accompanied them.

The female was seen under a spotlight, set to speak first.
?: Prepare for trouble, little twerps at play.
Then, the spotlight shined on the male, who spoke next.
?: And make it double, to last the day.
Then, the spotlight shined on the female again but lit up only the left half of her face.
?: To protect the world from devastation.
Then, the spotlight shined on the male again but lit up only the right half of his face.
?: To unite all people within our nation.
Then, it shined on the female again, who seemed to offer her hand out to the fourth wall
?: To denounce the evil of truth and love.
Then, it shined on the male again, who had a rose in his hand.
?: To extend our reach to the stars above.
Then, both people appeared one at a time, with the female first, followed by the male, and they introduced their names while posing.
?: Jessie!
?: And James!
Then, both people stood together side by side, with a huge purple R laying right behind them.
Jessie: Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!
James: Surrender now, or be prepared for a twerp-fueled fight!
Then, the cat-like leaped up and landed right in between the two people, and to a shocking surprise, it spoke!
?: Meowth! That's right!
Finally, the large blue Pokemon landed behind all three of them, saluting, in a sense, as the R glowed, while it chirped something.

Ash shouted, while everyone, except a confused Lyra, glared at the trio, "Team Rocket! I had a feeling it was you," while Pikachu chirped angrily.
Lyra then gasped, asking, "Wait, Team Rocket? As in THE Team Rocket?! As in the criminal organization that likes to steal people's Pokemon"?!
Jessie chuckled, answering, "It's not just other's Pokemon we like to take," while James added, "But along with all the powerful Pokemon in all of Kalos"!
Meowth then pointed to Pikachu, declaring, "Starting with that pesky Pikachu"!
Lyra gritted her teeth, saying, "I don't think so"!
Jessie turned to face Lyra, saying, "Say, we got a gutsy twerpette on our hands."
James noticed Silverstream and added, "With a rare colored Fennekin by chance. It must be worth valuable money."
Silverstream whimpered in fear and leaped into Lyra's arms, curling up in fear.
Lyra hugged her tightly, saying, "You guys are fools if you think you're getting Silverstream"!
Jessie cackled, saying, "Who said anything about "Getting"? We crooks love to take, take, and take"!
Jessie then tossed up a Pokeball while saying, "Pumpkaboo, show this twerpette what for"!
James added while tossing a Pokeball up, "Inkay, come out and play"!
On cue, both Pokeballs opened up to reveal the respective Pokemon that each person called out.
Pumpkaboo resembled a pumpkin carved into a jack-o-lantern, with the top part of its plump, round pumpkin-like body covered in a thick shag of dark brown hair that curls upward slightly at the ends, a curled stem at the top of its head, and two horn-shaped tufts of hair on either side, along with two ovular yellow eyes and a small mouth with two sharp fangs protruding from beneath its upper lip, while the bottom part of Pumpkaboo's body is orange and pudgy, with two short legs and two holes that seem to have been carved out, and inside Pumpkaboo's body, a mysterious orange light can be seen and act as a flashlight.
Meanwhile, Inkay was a small amphibious Pokémon that resembled a squid, with its body being round and blue in color with a fringe of short tentacles forming its underside, very large round black eyes, and a small pink beak-like smiling mouth, along with a pinkish white-finned cap-like feature with four bioluminescent yellow spots atop its head, and two short white arm-like tentacles sprout from either side of its cap.
Lyra gritted her teeth, wanting to reach out for a Pokemon, but Ash quickly placed his arm out in front of her, saying, "Don't worry, I'll handle them. Pikachu, use iron tail"!
Pikachu leaped up and swung its tail, which became metallic, at Pumpkaboo and Inkay, knocking them down quickly, before Ash commanded, "Now, use electro ball"!
Pikachu nodded and formed an electric ball around its tail and fired it at the Pokemon, knocking them out.
Pumpkaboo and Inkay were knocked back towards their trainer, but they were not out cold, as they floated back up into the air, ready to battle more.
However, Meowth, who was the identified cat Pokemon, readied with a net gun, shouting, "Try this on for size," and pressed a button, firing a net at Pikachu, who had no time to dodge it.
Suddenly, something occurred within a split second that caused the net to just stop and float in mid-air, missing Pikachu by barely an inch.
Everyone was shocked, especially Team Rocket, with Jessie asking, "We didn't order a net gun with a floating net," while James added, "Unless it was an added feature," with Meowth shouting, "It wasn't"!
Serena asked, "How is it doing that," while Bonnie asked, "You think a Pokemon is doing this"?
Clemont then saw something and pointed up, saying, "Up there"!
Ash, Serena, Bonnie, Clemont, and Lyra looked up and saw that the net was hovering due to a Pokemon using psychic, and it wasn't just any Pokemon: it was Meloetta!
Lyra gasped, saying, "Hey, it's the Meloetta I met earlier," while Silversream looked up and chirped in agreement.
Meloetta was using psychic and tossed the net aside before floating in front of Lyra, who asked, "Meloetta...you want to help us"?
Meloetta turned her head and nodded with a smile, as Lyra said, "In that case, let's do it! Meloetta, use psychic again"!
Meloetta used the move and got a hold of Inkay, sending it back towards James, knocking the man down, while he held his unconscious Pokemon in his arms.
Jessie growled, saying, "I'll teach you a lesson in manners, you brat! Pumpkaboo, shadow ball"!
Pumpkaboo launched the move at Meloetta, who merely floated to the side to dodge it as Lyra shouted, "Meloetta, use copycat"!
Meloetta's eyes glowed so it could copy the move Pumpkaboo used, before launching a shadow ball herself, striking Pumpkaboo hard to the ground, much to Jessie's dismay.
Ash then said, "Hey, Lyra, let's wrap this up," as Lyra nodded, saying, "Couldn't agree with you more"!
Ash then announced, "Pikachu, use thunderbolt," while Lyra shouted, "Meloetta, copycat again and copy the thunderbolt"!
Pikachu got ready to use the move as Meoletta used copycat to copy it so she too could use thunderbolt. On cue, both Pokemon launched simultaneous thunderbolts, hitting all the members of Team Rocket with a loud explosion, and sending them up into the air, far, far away, as Jessie, James, and Meowth shouted in unison, "We're blasting off again"!
Everyone cheered victoriously for sending those criminals away, as Lyra said to Meloetta, who faced them, "Thanks, Meloetta, for your help."
Meloetta smiled and chirped happily, floating around Lyra before picking up the human's cap again.
Lyra smirked, saying, "Hey, give that back," and placed Silverstream down and tried to reach for her hat, with Meloetta giggling and purposely holding it out of reach.
Lyra kept trying to reach for it, with Silverstream happily chirping and jumping up, trying to help Lyra reach for her hat.
Clemont chuckled, saying, "I guess that Meloetta is pretty playful," while bonnie said, "It's so cute," while Dedenne chirped in agreement.
Ash, watching the Meloetta play around, made him feel dazed a bit, which Serena noticed, and couldn't help but ask, "Hey, Ash, are you ok"?
Ash nodded, saying, "Oh yeah, I'm ok. Seeing that Meloetta reminds me of a Meloetta Pikachu and I met a while back, right buddy"?
Pikachu chirped in agreement while nodding its head.
Soon, Meloetta decided that it had enough playing and smiled while placing Lyra's hat back on Lyra's head, with the human saying, "Thank you. I guess you like to play around, huh"?
Meloetta nodded happily before floating over to Lyra's friends, waving hi to them, and hovering around them, with Serena saying, "I've never seen a Meloetta before. It's so beautiful."
Ash answered, "And it looked pretty strong when it fought against Team Rocket."
Meoletta then floated back to Lyra, who asked, "Hey, Meloetta, i know I was asking you earlier, but what brings you here to Kalos anyway"?
