Hi, guys! Writing this story has been a blast so far, and the fun's just getting started! Oh, I almost forgot: in case you were wondering, my O.C. Lyra is voiced by Erica Mendez, whom you might recognize as the V.A. for a certain raccoon demi-human in another anime that's been growing popular :)! Disclaimer- I do not own Pokemon, or the characters from the show, I only own my O.C. I also do not own the song and lyrics that I use today either. Now, let's get right to it!

Meloetta looked at the human in confusion, as if it didn't know how to answer the question.

Lyra could tell that Meloetta seemed confused, as she asked, "Are you lost? Or looking for something"?

Before Meloetta could answer, there was a voice that declared, "Over here, professor"!

Meloetta seemed to recognize the voice because out of shyness, it flew and hid behind Lyra, with Ash asking, "Hey, is everything ok, Meloetta," with Pikachu chirping the same question as well.

Serena couldn't help but comment curiously, "Maybe something scared it."

Suddenly, the group heard footsteps approach them and it turned out to be Professor Sycamore and his assistant, Sophie, with Sycamore asking Sophie, "Are you sure it's here"?

Sophie answered, "I could've sworn I heard it nearby."

Ash, immediately recognizing the professor, commented, "Hey, Professor Sycamore"!

Sycamore turned his head and saw Ash and his friends, including Lyra, as he smiled, saying, "Ash, Clemont, Bonnie, Serena, Lyra. How have you guys been"?

Clemont was the first to answer, saying, "We've been doing pretty well, professor," while Bonnie added, "And we've been having so much fun"!

Professor Sycamore then faced Lyra, asking, "How have you and your Fennekin been getting along"?

Lyra answered while Silverstream climbed down onto her trainer's shoulder, "Silverstream and I have grown pretty close together. We even just won our first gym battle together, along with another new friend I met today," and pulled out her other Pokeball, giving it a toss.

Riolu appeared from it, smiling while placing its paws on its hips, as Sycamore commented, "A Riolu, what a marvelous friend you've made." The little Emanation Pokemon blushed a bit in embarrassment but smiled while shuffling its foot.

Then, Sycamore noticed the floating Meloetta behind Lyra and commented, "Meloetta, there you are"!

Our heroes were a bit confused, with Ash asking, "Professor, you know this Meloetta"?

Meloetta shyly peeked its head from behind Lyra, looking at the professor nervously, as Lyra reassured it, saying, "It's ok, Meloetta. The professor is really nice. You can come say hi."

Meloetta seemed to nod and slowly floated towards him and Sophie, muttering a soft, "Le Me," as its way of saying hi, despite feeling nervous.

Sycamore then replied, "It's wonderful to finally be meeting you, Meloetta. We were feeling worried about you."

Serena then spoke up, asking, "Professor Sycamore, how come you know this Meloetta"?

Sycamore answered, "You see, this Meloetta just hatched earlier today."

All of our heroes gasped in shock, with Lyra saying, "It just hatched today," with Silverstream and Riolu chattering in shock/agreement to Lyra's statement.

Sycamore nodded, saying, "Yes. You see, a friend of mine from the Unova region found Meloetta as an egg, and sent it to me to take care of it and help it hatch safely. But earlier, there was a little incident that happened that caused it to run away."

Flashback

Sophie was monitoring a small egg's vitals with a special vitals machine, that had small suction wires attached to the egg. The egg itself was light green on top, but in a curve, while the bottom half was white. Right across the middle of the egg, in a horizontal line, was a small black line that went around like a circle, and on the front of the egg, on that line, in the middle, was a little blue oval.

Sophie was writing notes about the egg on a clipboard, while Garchomp was watching alongside her,

Suddenly, there was a glow, and Sophie and Garchomp turned their heads to see and saw the egg glowing. In the Pokemon world, when an egg glowed, it meant that it was close to hatching.

The egg wiggled around a bit before it suddenly started to form some cracks. Slowly, but in a bright light, the sacks got bigger, and soon, the egg shell faded away, leaving a Pokemon now sitting on the table, not attached by any wires, freshly hatched.

It turned out to be the Meloetta Lyra had met, though, its eyes were currently closed. It then started to open its eyes, with Meloetta's vision turning from blurry to visible, but the first thing it saw upon hatching was Garchomp, who chattered a happy "Hello" while smiling.

Garchomp's "Greeting" scared Meloetta, prompting her to go invisible, much to Garchomp and Sophie's surprise.

Sophie tried calling out to Meloetta, saying, "It's ok; Garchomp just wanted to say hi." However, because Meoetta was invisible, no one could tell where it went.

While invisible, Meloetta escaped through an open air vent, which led to outside, where she remained invisible for a while.

It kept floating around the streets, trying to comprehend what was going on around her, and who these new people were. Soon, she ended up wandering near a battlefield, where she decided to hide behind a tree.

Meloetta stayed behind the tree, still invisible for a while until she heard the sound of a Pokemon battle going on. And it ended up being the same battle where she was watching Lyra facing Serena earlier.

End of flashback

Everyone seemed to understand what had happened, with Clemont saying, "It can be relatable for young Pokemon to be easily startled by other Pokemon that they first see whom may appear to be scary."

Lyra then commented, "I can relate. My dad told me the story of when I was first born, I got scared by his Chesnaught when I first saw it. He said I didn't want it near me till three weeks later,"

Everyone found themselves chuckling as a result as Meloetta seemed to ease up, feeling less nervous around the professor.

Sycamore then said, "Meloetta, if you want, would you like to return to the Pokemon Research Lab again? I promise that Garchomp won't startle you again."

Meloetta took some thought into it before she smiled and nodded in agreement, as Ash then asked, "Hey, professor, would it be ok if we came with you"?

Sycamore looked up at the sky, seeing how the sun was starting to set, as he commented, "Sure. In fact, why don't you all stay over for the night? It's getting late."

Everyone noticed the sunset sky, as Clemont answered, "Sure professor," while Serena added, "Thanks for the offer."

With that, everyone followed the professor back to the Pokemon research lab.

Inside, Sycamore brought Meloetta over to the conservation area of the lab, saying, "And this is where most of our Pokemon stay. Many of them are very friendly here, and would love to make friends with you."

Meloetta nodded towards the professor before she floated over to some of the Pokemon, which were a few Bunnelbys, a Fletchling, and some grass types, who all greeted her happily.

Meloetta smiled and floated towards each of the Pokemon, giving them warm happy greetings in return.

Lyra was watching beside the professor, asking, "Say, professor, I was wondering: why did your friend give Meloetta to you as an egg anyways"?

Sycamore answered, "Well, as a professor, I want to be able to study the many features of Pokemon and see how their customs and ways of life coherent with my theories of evolution and mega evolution. And when my friend discovered the egg, he thought that Meloetta could be an important factor in my study, especially with helping some of the Pokemon who struggle to handle the power of mega evolution."

This impressed Lyra, who asked, "Really? How so"?

Sycamore answered as he continued to watch Meloetta settle into the conservation area, meeting Garchomp, who approached her slowly, as she gave it a warm smile, "Since Meloetta is known for its wonderful and mystical singing voice, perhaps the power behind its singing could play a healing or instrumental effect into helping a Pokemon be able to harness control when experiencing the feeling of mega evolution."

Lyra was impressed to hear this, saying, "Fascinating," while Silverstream and Riolu chattered in agreement too.

Suddenly, Lyra could feel her stomach rumble, as Sycamore heard and chuckled, saying, "Why don't you join the others in the dining hall for dinner"?

Lyra nodded, saying, "After the day we've had, we could definitely use something to eat."

In the dining hall, Lyra and her Pokemon noticed the table all set up, with all sorts of homecooked foods already set out, from a huge pot of soup, to tasty sandwiches and a side salad prepped, along with bowls filled with Pokemon food for the Pokemon. Ash, Bonnie, and Clemont were setting up the plates while Serena was finishing up pouring some Pokemon food into one of the bowls for the Pokemon.

The scent alone made Lyra's mouth water, saying, "Yum! Now, that smells so good," with Silverstream and Riolu nodding in agreement.

Clemont heard Lyra's statement, saying, "You're just in time, Lyra. We were just getting ready to eat."

Lyra's stomach rumbled again, with the human saying with a smile, "Well, you don't have to ask me to sit because I'm already set to sit down and eat"!

Ash added, "Then, let's eat, guys"!

Everyone took their seats at the table and served themselves the food that was made, while all of their Pokemon were let out so they could eat as well.

The food, for both the people and the Pokemon, was really delicious!

Riolu picked up its bowl and poured the rest of its food into his mouth before he chewed and swallowed, sighing happily while licking its lips to wipe off the tasty crumbs.

Meanwhile, Chespin was eating its food and then saw Pancham nearby and tried to reach over to grab some of its food. However, Pancham quickly swatted Chespin's paw away, trying to get it to leave it alone.

Before Chespin could continue to pester the panda Pokemon anymore, Chesnaught quickly stopped Chespin by picking it up with its vines and giving it a light scolding, earning an "I'm Sorry" from the Spiny Nut Pokemon.

Then, Chesnaught offered some of it sown food to Chespin, making its pre-evolved form smile and bow its head in thanks as it ate the serving Chesnaught gave it.

Lyra's father's Dedenne stuffed a pellet into its mouth, to which Bonnie's Dedenne saw and did as so. Lyra's father's Dedenne saw this and got an idea, chattering something to it before stuffing another pellet into its mouth. Bonnie's Dedenne chattered excitedly and did as so. Before you knew it, both Dedennes were having a mouth-stuffing contest to try and be the one to stuff the most pellets into its mouth.

Bonnie's Dedenne ended up being able to hold 8 pellets in its mouth, while Lyra's father's Dedenne held 9. That resulted in both Dedennes swallowing huge lumps of food before breaking into laughter simultaneously.

Back at the table, Lyra and her new friends were conversing together, with Ash asking, "So, Lyra, what's life like living in Santalune City"?

Lyra answered while blowing on her spoon, "Well, it's fun, but quiet most of the time. Part of the reason why I wanted to become a trainer was to get out and do some action; break free and "make a little noise" per see. You get what I mean"?

Bonnie then asked, "do you have any brothers and sisters"?

That question made Lyra bite her lip, saying, "Well, that's what I'm trying to figure out."

Hearing this, everyone, including the Pokemon, became curious, and confused, as Serena asked, "Trying to figure out"?

Lyra nodded and answered, "Yeah. See, for most of my life, I grew up an only child with my dad. Without a mom, I figured that she had possibly died during when she gave birth to me, and only my dad was around to raise me, and when I tried to ask my dad who my mom was like, he wouldn't tell me. Then, earlier today, before I had set off on my journey, my dad left me this letter, and it told me that I did have a mom, but she and my dad separated for unknown reasons. Not only that, but i also have a sister."

Serena was stunned to her very core hearing all of this: this new girl she had met, who coincidentally has the same last name as her, who grew up with only her own father (Lyra, to clear up the confusion), was wanting to find out more about what her biological mom and sister was like?! It couldn't mean...could it? No..no..it couldn't be! It sounded too weird to even think of!

Ash then took a turn, asking as Lyra finished her soup and bit into a sandwich, "Do you know what your mom and sister look like? Maybe we can help you find them."

Lyra swallowed before answering, "I don't really know what my sister looks like, but, I do know what my mom looks like. My dad even gave me a picture of the day my sister and I were born. It shows what my mom looks like. But...I don't want to show it, not yet at least. My plan is that for every town I stop in, I'll look around, and use that picture a a guide in trying to find them."

Clemont then answered, "Well, we can also help you out if you want too," while Bonnie added, "Yeah, we can help you find your mom and sister"!

Lyra chuckled before saying, "I appreciate it, guys. but..let's just say this is a "personal" thing i wan to try and accomplish...myself. But, if I do need any help, I won't hesitate to ask."

After dinner, everyone was stuffed and happy, with Ash saying, "Man, that was good," with Pikachu chirping in agreement while rubbing its stomach.

Lyra commented, "Man, I've never met a guy who could stuff his face like that"!

Serena chuckled while saying with a blush, "Well, that's Ash for you; when it comes to food, he's practically a vacuum."

Lyra noticed the blush and asked under her breath, "Ooh, do you have a crush on this guy"?

Serena immediately grew flustered, her blush increasing as she nervously declared, "I-I don't know what you're talking about"!

Lyra chuckled, saying, "Oh my god, you have it bad for him"!

Ash, overhearing Lyra's statement, asked while tipping his hat, "Who's got what"?

Before Lyra could answer, Serena quickly covered her mouth, shouting, "Nothing's got no one, Ash! Nothing to worry about"!

Ash, oblivious to what was going on, smiled and said, "Ok, if you say so."

Lyra rolled her eyes, saying, despite being muffled, "That boy's denser than a rock."

Meanwhile, the Pokemon were all stretching after enjoying a good meal, as Silverstream stretched and shook her tail, but inexplicably/accidentally tickled a nearby Frogadier's nose. The Frogadier (Ash's Frogadier) sniffled and snorted before quickly tuning its head and using his arm to cover its sneeze. Silverstream chirped an "I'm sorry," as the Frogadier smiled, gesturing that all was good.

Riolu was stretching its arms, puffing its chest out in pride, before it saw a shadow copying what it had just did. He turned his head and saw a Hawlucha (Ash's Hawlucha) stretching its wings out wide while proclaiming its name out loud.

Riolu, seeing this, tried to mimic Hawlucha, which the flying/fighting type saw and smiled, chattering some advice to Riolu, who understood and took it to heart.

Meanwhile, Lyra was gathering the plates and bowls, saying, "I'll bring these into the kitchen," with Serena saying, "I'll help you out. We got a lot to bring in anyways."

In the kitchen, once everything was placed back to where it was, Lyra smiled, saying, "Great. now, let's head back and find our rooms to rest in for the night."

However, before Lyra could walk out of the kitchen, Serena grabbed her, gently, by the wrist, saying, "Wait; could I...ask something..first"?

Lyra nodded, saying, "Sure. What's up"?

Serena then asked, "Your, um..last name; you said it was Yvonne, right"?

Lyra nodded, saying, "Yeah. Last time I checked, it's Yvonne. Why? Forgot"?

Serena then took a deep breath in and out, saying, "This is gonna sound really weird, but...my last name...is Yvonne too."

Lyra gasped in shock, asking, "What?! I-I mean...it is"?

Serena nodded, saying, "Yep, it's true."

Meanwhile, Chesnaught and Dedenne were listening in on the conversation, with Chesnaught and Dedenne quietly chattering to each other in shock.

Serena then asked, "You don't think...we could-,"

Lyra commented, "But, it can't be! Can't it? What date were you born on"?

Serena replied, "February 2nd, 2001."

Lyra gasped, declaring, "That's my birthday too, and that was the date I was born on as well"!

Serena had to hold onto her hat while saying, "What?! Where were you born"?

Lyra answered, "I-I don't remember. Near some town called Vaniville Town. but after i was born, my dad took me home to Santalune City."

Serena then declared, "The hospital near Vaniville Town was where I was born too, and I live there with my mom! She told me she and my dad separated when I was born."

Suddenly, Lyra and Serena both gasped together, with Lyra saying, in shock, "No way! Your mom...separated from your dad...the day you were born"?

Serena nodded, asking, "And your dad...separated from your your mom...the day you were born"?

Lyra nodded, adding, "and if we were both born from the same hospital on the same day in the exact same place...no! You don't think-,"

Serena shouted, "I don't, but could we-,"

Both trainers declared in unison. "Be related"?!

Lyra shakily took the photo from her pocket, saying, "Only one way to find out. This photo...was from the day I was born. Do you...recognize the baby...or the mom...in this picture"?

Serena looked at the picture and her face immediately went pale in disbelief. She had to cover her mouth to hold in the scream she wanted to erupt.

Lyra, seeing this, asked, "You...do recognize it"?

Serena nodded, saying, "Lyra...that woman...she's my mom, Grace Yvonne. And...that baby...must be me."

Lyra was now the one who grew pale as she looked at the photo again before looking up at Serena, immediately recognizing the similarity in the honey-blonde hair and blue eyes. Lyra's breathing grew shaky, as she said, "She's your mom? Then...that means...you are-,"

Serena added, "And that makes you-,"

Both trainers, once again, spoke in unison, "My sister"?

Both trainers stared at each other in silence before doing the only thing that seemed appropriate, and screamed loudly at the top of their lungs, loud enough for everyone in the Pokemon Research Lab to hear.

Serena had both hands on the sides of her head, saying, "Oh my god! This can't be happening"!

Lyra was pacing back and forth, "Stop talking; you're freaking me out"!

Serena was close to panicking, saying, "Is this even real"?!

Lyra repeated in a more frantic voice, "Stop talking; you're freaking me out"!

Serena then commented, "Hold on, this really can't be true, can it"?

Lyra then commented, "Only one way to know: what's your least favorite color? And how do you pick your fashion"?

Serena replied, "i don't like grey, and anything my parents pick for me, the other option is cuter."

Lyra gasped, saying, "Same here."

Both trainers gasped again as Lyra muttered, "So it is true...you're my sister."

Serena nodded, muttering, "You're my sister."

Both trainers looked at one another, saying in unison, "Nice to meet you."

Chesnaught, with Lyra's Dedenne riding on its shoulder, came forward, chattering in concern for Lyra.

Serena looked at the Pokemon and gasped, asking, "so, when you said these are your dad's Pokemon, you mean-,"

Lyra nodded, saying, "Yep. They're your dad's Pokemon too. Chesnaught, Dedenne, meet Serena. She's...my sister."

Chesnaught and Dedenne both were jaw-dropped in shock, as Serena nodded, saying, "nice to meet you both. It's...such an honor to see the two well-raised Pokemon our father has raised."

Chesnaught blushed in embarrassment as Dedenne chattered happily, happy to have another fellow family member to hang out with.

Serena petted Chesnaught's arm while saying to Lyra, "I have so many questions about dad."

Lyra replied, "Well, I got a lot of questions about mom. Maybe we can ask them together"?

Serena nodded, with happy tears forming around her eyes, saying in response, "I'd like that."

Both trainers shared a tight hug, with Chesnaught and Dedenne joining the hug.

Dedenne crawled up onto Lyra's shoulder and playfully nuzzled both her cheek and Serena's cheeks together.

Lyra, seeing the sparks erupting from Dedenne's cheeks, made her panic and say, "Dedenne, wait! Cut the electricity before-,"

On cue, Dedenne's nuzzle attack activated and shocked both girls and Chesnaught.

Ash, Clemont, Bonnie, Silverstream, Riolu, their Pokemon, and the professor came running into the kitchen from the sounds of the scream earlier, as they saw the little orange mouse accidentally shocking the girls and the big grass/fighting type.

Dedenne grinned innocently as Chesnaught, who was dazed by the nuzzle attack, fell backward, while Lyra and Serena were covered in electric soot and shocked.

Both trainers were dazed for a minute before they looked at each other and broke into laughter, with Dedenne joining in on the laughter, while everyone else remained standing around in confusion, wondering what had just happened.

Ash even couldn't help but ask, "Uh...did we miss something here"?

Lya replied, "Nope, just us having a "shocking" moment of bonding, right Serena," while winking at her.

Serena nodded and winked back at Lyra, saying, "Right, Lyra."

That night, as everyone got settled into the guest rooms Sycamore offered, Serena and Lyra were sharing one together, and currently, both girls were in their pajamas, sitting on Lyra's bed, talking. Lyra was in her pjs, which consisted of a red jumpsuit with white stripes, and a Lucario patch on the wrist of the left sleeve of the shirt, and a Delphox patch on the right sleeve of the pants.

Serena's pjs consisted of a purple sweatshirt with a hoodie, pink straps with little pompoms at the end, a heart pattern on each side of the hoodie, and pink shorts. On her head was a ribbon she tied up into a bow.

All of their Pokemon, with the exception of Serena's Braixen and Pancham, who were already curled up on Serena's bed, getting set to sleep, and Silverstream, who was curled up in Lyra's lap, were resting in their Pokeballs.

Lyra was currently taking off the left scrunchy, already had taken off the right one, letting her hair loose, while she was asking Serena, "so, what's mom's cooking like? Does she make good food"?

Serena answered excitedly, "Well, my mom makes really good food, but her speciality is this soup she makes that's really tasty. When you meet her, you definitely have to try it. But what about dad? Is he a classic chef too"?

Lyra chuckled and answered, "My dad is anything but a chef. He used to cook, but mainly for himself, but this was back when I was still a baby. After I became a kid, everything food-wise came out of a container, a box, or any compartment you could think of, and most of it was takeout. that's when i had to learn how to cook for myself, especially on the days our dad works really late."

Serena, hearing this, asks, "He...works a lot"?

Lyra nodded, saying, "Yep. As a functioning "businessman" as he says, he's out for most of the day, and by night, when I'm in bed, he's home. He doesn't work all the time, and he still does try to make time for me, but lately, his company is doing some big project and...I...haven't really seen him around as much. He wasn't even home today before I left on my journey."

Serena felt bad for Lyra, saying, "I'm so sorry, Lyra. It must be hard."

Lyra nodded, saying, "It is...but I know my dad loves me, and he still cares about me a lot. What about your mom? She works too"?

Serena shook her head, saying, "Actually, my mom's retired. She settled down not too long after we were born, and hung up her Rhyhorn racing saddle. but, she did try to pass on ehr teaching skills to me."

Lyra, hearing this, asked, "Oh, so, you were set on being a Rhyhorn racer before becoming a performer"?

Serena answered, "Well, no, I didn't really want to do Rhyhorn racing, because I wanted to find my own goal to do, with my Pokemon beside me. Then, after a friend of mine invited us to watch a showcase performance, it became so much fun, it became my dream. And since then, my Pokemon and i have been working hard to accomplish it. We're still pretty new at it though. We competed in the Coumarine City showcase a while back, but our debut didn't turn out so well."

Lyra answered, "Well, you still got moe experience than me. I'm still trying to figure out what to do for my debut when we get to Laverre City."

Serena answered, "Well, I'll give you all the tips I can give, even if some of them don't work. but, maybe we can both learn together."

Lyra nodded, saying, "Yeah, we can do it together! We got this"!

Silverstream yipped excitedly, agreeing with both trainers, along with Braixen and Pancham.

Serena then got up, saying, "Well, it's getting late. We should get some sleep."

Lyra nodded, saying, "Sure. Besides, we got a lot of traveling to do tomorrow."

As Serena got settled into her bed, Lyra tugged at the lamp string to turn the lights off, and both girls got settled in for the night.

Lyra laid back, her head resting against the pillow, while Silverstream curled up right next to her, tipping a soft "Goodnight" before ti closed its eyes to fall asleep.

Lyra smiled and petted Silverstream's head, whispering, "Sleep tight, Silverstream."

Lyra then turned her head and whispered, "'Night, Serena, sleep well."

Serena turned her head and replied, "You too, Lyra."

Both girls smiled and closed their eyes, letting sleep overcome them and their Pokemon, with the moonlight shining over them like guardian angels.

With the discovery of Serena being her sister, Lyra and Serena's friendship seems to have taken turn for the warmer, as their family connection now digs the path for a new bond to form: the bond of family. With many more questions and secrets to find out, our heroes rest up for the night, as the journey continues!
