Solomon Grundy couldn't believe what he was looking at. On one hand, he was happy that Billy Batson's alive. He was a young teenager after all, and killing children (young or older) is never okay! However, on the other hand, he was shocked and surprised by Shazam's recent revival miracle. While he isn't going to kill the teenager himself, he knows that he must stop him before Superman finds out.

"Hey! How did you come back to life!?" He then starts charging at the young hero. "Grundy Smash Red Lightning Man!"

Shazam only smirked. "Don't even think about it, Grundy!" He then got into his fighting position.

STAGE 1: Shazam vs. Solomon Grundy

The big zombie was about to attack him, but Shazam teleported and uppercut Grundy from behind. The Champion then started sending lightning bolts at the undead brute who blocked the first one, but got hit by two more. Before Shazam could do more damage, Grundy grabbed him by the legs.

"Grundy Smash!" He shouted as he jumped while slamming Billy to the ground. The big zombie then slammed him once again and threw him away from him.

Shazam got up from the ground and started striking the zombie with a 3-hit combo, followed by a lightning bolt. He then teleports to the zombie and strikes him with a few punches. However, Grundy blocked one of them and uppercuts him, sending Shazam to the air. However, while in the air, the big zombie then grabbed his legs and slammed him to the ground again.

After getting up, Shazam charges headfirst at Grundy, flying past them as he spins while covered in lightning. Shazam grabs and throws his opponent into the ground after the attack connects.

However, Solomon wasn't giving up as he got up and stomped on the ground, causing a swamp puddle to appear under his opponent and for several rotten hands to attack them. The hands then grabbed hold Billy in place as the big zombie started hitting the young hero from every direction.

Billy was getting ticked off at the moment. "SHAZAM!" The lightning appeared and zapped the big zombie, thus the hands from the dead disappeared. This also gave the champion's chance to defeat Grundy. After a few more punches, the big zombie was on the ground, defeated.

"Surprised that you buried me in honor." Billy stated, walking up to the defeated zombie. "Are you okay?"

"Grundy sorry…" The zombie looked down. "Grundy afraid of Cape Man. Cape Man evil."

Billy put his hand on his shoulder gently. "It's okay, Gruny. It's not your fault." The teenager in a man's body assured him. "But right now, I need your help if we're going to take down Superman."

The big zombie shook his head. "Grundy Afraid. Grundy Hurt."

"I promise, you won't get arrested. I'll try to talk Batman out of arresting you."

"Grundy agreed! Grundy asks something in return!"

"What is it?"

The big zombie then had a sad look. "Grundy want Normal Nose-Bird Back."

Billy then remembered about Hawkgirl's condition. Ever since Hawkman's death at the hands of Superman, the Regime decided to brainwash her so that she won't turn against them. However, before he even died, she joined them willingly and stopped her husband from killing the tyrant.

"If the war is over and if we have time left, I'll ask Bruce to fix Hawkgirl."

The zombie then got a call from Hal Jordan/Yellow Lantern. "Grundy must go. Grundy help later. Grundy promise."

"Okay." Billy said. "I'll see you later." He then teleported away while Grundy heads back to aid Yellow Lantern.

Insurgency Batcave

The former clown princess of crime, now insurgency member/hero, was crying. She couldn't believe what she was watching. Batgirl was patting her shoulder, as she knew that Harleen had a crush on him.

That was when Batman walked in.

"Bruce, you might want to see this." Batgirl said.

"Can it wait? I'm busy." He then looks at Harleen. "And why is Harley crying?"

"Again, you'll want to see this. Luthor sent it to us before his death."

Batgirl hands him the tablet. Once Batman was watching, he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"He killed Billy?" Batman asked in shock. He knew that Billy may have joined the Regime, but he was still a good kid and a true hero. He also didn't deserve to die! "Superman has gone too far this time."

"We need to stop Clark." Batgirl said.

The cave rumbles as a lightning bolt strikes the ground as Shazam appears before them. Batman, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn got into their defensive pose, getting ready to fight whoever it is. The smoke clears out and they were shock of what they were seeing.

"S-Shazzy?" Harley asked in surprise.

"H-Hey Harleen." He gave a weak smile at her. He then looked at the Dark Knight and his partner. "Hey Bruce... Hi Barbs."

"Billy?" Batgirl asked in confusion.

"How is this even possible?" Batman asked. "We saw the video Luthor sent us before his death... Superman killed you."

"You might not believe me if I told you... But you deserve the truth."

Billy told them the whole story, including his death, meeting Deadwing, being revived by Rama Kushna, and getting his powers back from The Wizard. Mentioning Deadwing shocked both Barbara and Bruce.

"You saw Dick?" She asked.

"Is he okay?" Bruce asked as well.

"He's okay." Shazam assured them. "He's the reason why I'm back..."

"Billy-"

"Let me finish." He said. "I know that you may not forgive me for joining Superman's Regime or what happen to Lex Luthor. You have every right to be angry at me... I'm not asking for forgiveness... Or a chance of redemption. I know I'm past that... I'm just asking for you to hear me out about the Regime's plans... For Lois' and your son's sake."

That was when Batman actually hugged him. The young hero was shocked of this.

"Ummm, Bruce?"

The Dark Knight then let go. "I forgive you."

"Billy," Batgirl started to say. "We know that you're a good, sweet kid. You've always been honorable, kind, loyal, and a good friend for everyone. Even Harley." She added. "You may have joined the Regime, but you're still a hero. That, and because you never killed anyone during your time with them.

The former clown princess then gave Shazam a kiss on the cheek. "It's good to have you back, Shazzy!"

"It's good to be back."

The four then started walking out of the Batcave.

"Now, about the Regime's plans?" Batman asked. "What are they up to?"

"It'll be best once we get to the main room."

The others agreed and walked to the main room of the Insurgency Hideout.

Also, about Billy's age in the Injustice series. In comics, Billy is 12 years old in Year One, so he died at 17 by Superman in the first game. Luckily, he's revived here, so he's 17.
