It was rare that the Ingo got the day off without his brother, uncoupled from their two car train. It was Emmet's turn to run the doubles battle train today leaving Ingo with some alone time. He isn't sure what compelled him to walk into the woods, maybe it was nostalgia, a familiar track he and Emmet once embarked on. His Chandelure hovering by his side, one of his longest and most faithful companions. Perhaps he just wanted give her some fresh air, they haven't walked this way in so long. Her sweet chimes filled the air as they journeyed further in. it seemed like a nice day to do a bit of training.
There plesant walk was short lived however. Suddenly he felt eyes on him from all sides, the air went still with the uneasy atmosphere. He looked around him, many of the forest's wild pokemon stared at him from the shadows with intensity. Chandelure moved a bit closer to him and made a worried wail, she seemed just as confused by the odd behaviour as he was. Suddenly a second Chandelure floated towards them, it's voice sounding a bit more panicked.
After the lantern like pokemon explained something to his, he felt his Chandelure nudge him forward to follow the strange other one further into the forest. Eventually their journey ended deep into the dark forest, mist thickly coated the land making it harder to see the ground in front of him. He felt quite thankful for Chandelures beautiful blue glow that gave him some stared in confusion as the second chandelure, wondering why it had led them down this track, till it's illusion faded before him, revealing it's true form that of a Zoroark. A large black and red wolf started at him, judgemental eyes peered into his, studying his face. It dropped from it's hind legs to all fours.
Ingo wouldn't in a million of years of guessed what would happen next as the zoroark lifted the bush before them to reveal a mess of green hair, a lot of hair for such a small figure. The Zoroark was showing him a child. A human child. He bend down on his knees to get a better look. The Zoroark seemed worried about the child and made a sorrowful whine at him.
A twig snapped under his palm as he tried to move closer, causing the child to stir awake, practically jumping but quickly he hissed in pain. Now that the green hair didn't cover the frightened child's body he could see the full extent of the boys form. His skin was littered with bruises and scratches, his face pale like he was sickly. Was he attacked by pokemon?
He moved his hands closer to the boy to comfort him. He was so frightened as he backed up further into the bush. Zoroark moved behind the child nudging it forward with her face, making soft yipping noises and rubbing her face against his back.
"H-hey it's okay" Ingo tried to soothe as tears filled the kids eyes, whimpering back at the Zoroark. "I'm not gonna hur-" he moved his hand a bit too close it seemed as the child bit down on it with full force. "Owww!" his loudness scared the kid into releasing his hand as he shook it violently to try and relive the pain.
Chandelure floated down to the kid and began to soothe it while her master tended to his pain. Then life threw him another curve ball as the child started to chime back to his pokemon. And she responded. It was like the two, understood each other.
The green haired boy eventually grabbed onto the lantern pokemon's arm, as she helped pull him up. His legs were shaky and he whimpered in plan as he stepped forward on his leg with a nasty gash. Ingo had to signal him to stop "Stop! Safety checks. It is unsafe to proceed with that much damage" He took his coat off and wrapped it around the boy carefully. "I would be happy to carry you to some place safe."
His Chandelure happily backed him up and the boy nervously nodded and let himself be picked up. He could feel the body shiver in his coat as he wrapped him up like a baby. The child looked around 5 to 6 years old.
Ingo looked at the wolf pokemon, she nodded to him before sniffing the air and growled, she pushed Ingo's body forward with her face, telling him to hurry and get out of the area before she leapt back into the bushes.
He placed the boy softly on the couch, his coat still wrapped around him like a safety blanket. Because of the nature of the child, he figured an at home doctor's appointment would be better. He let out a sigh as he fidgeted with his tie, what had he gotten himself into. How was he going to explain this to Emmet? His twin really didn't like a sudden change to the routine. He placed his pokeballs on table and stretched his body, getting ready to call the doctor.
The green haired boy shyly reached out for one of the balls, in worry chiming like he done previously. Ingo couldn't help but feel guilty as he had seen Ingo return Chandelure to her ball moments ago. The little boy was frantically trying to open the capsule. Ingo sat down gently next to the boy and put his hands tentatively over the much smaller hands. Kind of worried he'd have his hand bitten again. The boy looked at him scared and guilty as Ingo grabbed the ball gently from him.
"You have to be gentle with these" he said "Here like this" he pressed the button on the ball and out popped Chandelure, who happily whistled. The boy was filled with relief. Ingo wanting to make the boy feel more at ease decided he might as well introduce all his team to the kid. Well the team that was here, his brother and him shared a lot of pokemon. Excadrill, Haxorus and Klinklang were shot out of the pokeballs. He was a little worried when the kid starred up at the very tall Haxorus, a lot of kids found them intimidating but the kids eyes beamed in excitement and he made the pokemons familiar cry to it.
Seems he had nothing to worry about. "Guys can you watch over the little passenger while I make a call?" He asked the pokemon who happily replied, cuddling up to the kid on the couch.
Emmet opened the door with his usual cheery grin, as soon he saw that black jacket he started talking "Good afternoon Ingo, You'll never believe the battle I had-" He stopped suddenly staring more closely at his 'brother' he put his finger on his chin and tilted his head "You are not Ingo" The child looked at him scared as he buried himself into the coat that covered him, rubbing his face into the fur of the Excadrill lying in front of him.
"Ingo?" Emmet called out, a little upset his voice wasn't as loud and vociferous as his brother.
"Ah Emmet, apologises, I lost track of schedule tending to something in the other room." he explained.
"I see." Emmet replied before turning his attention back to the little one "Explain"
"I found him off track, lost and hurt, so I brought him back to station" He replied earnestly.
"Why didn't you take him to the Hospital or call the police?" Emmet asked confused.
"I got worried cause he can't speak English. He seems to be some kind of Feral child"
"You can't be serious?" Emmet looked dumbfounded at such an explanation.
"Watch" Ingo stated as he turned to Chandelure "Chandelure, tell our passanger that's it's alright and that Emmet is nice", his pokemon chimed and started to wail to the child who nodded and said something back, in a similar cry. "See? He seems to only communicate in pokemon cries. The home doctor is coming though to preform safety checks so it is less stressful on him"
"Fascinating" Emmet replied simply, till he noticed the bandage on his brothers hand "It seems you are damaged too"
"Oh that?" Ingo pulled his cap down slightly embarrassed "The kid bit me, He was scarred and didn't understand I was trying to help."
"Well that wasn't nice, remember to do your safety checks with the doctor as well." He placed his pokeballs on the coffee table and sat down across from the couch on the signal recliner.
"What a long day" he remarked. As Ingo sat a glass of water for Emmet.
Ingo sat down on the couch next to the kid who he offered the glass of water. "You need to refuel your engine" The boy nodded, making another random noise, he thinks it might be a Zoroark yip. "You got a name kid?" He asked hopeful but doubts the child will answer him. The pokemon repeated the question to the kid.
The kid seemed to understand what the man was asking for, he looked a bit sad as he struggled to make the right sounds "N-Na-Nu-Nar-N-N" He tried to repeat what he was told but just looked up at Ingo guilty for not being about to recite his own name he sunk back deeper into the coat with a shiver.
"I Guess we'll just have to call you N" Emmet replied flashing his smile at the child.
"You don't mind if we call you N do you?" Ingo inquired to which the boy just smiled and nodded.
"I've been meaning to ask." Emmet piqued up suddenly "But why are all the pokemon outside of their balls?"
"To help the passenger be more at ease, he really seemed in distress when they are put in their pokeballs. And he needs to talk to someone who can understand him"
"In that case" Emmet flashed him a signature smile as he released his own pokemon. Out hopped Eelektross, Garbodor, Durant, Crustle, Galvantula and Archeops. "it might not be routine but we might as well have everyone out."
N's eyes beamed as he greeted all the new pokemon.
Emmet looked at his pokemon with a smile "Remember to follow the rules, everybody smile" He said with a grin.
