"Welp, looks like you've gone and done it now, Izuku. You let your mind wander away too much and what do you do? You somehow manage to lose your only friend here. Smooth. Real smooth.."
Needless to say, Izuku wasn't too happy with himself. Oh, not in the slightest. Having thought about what he wanted for dinner for much longer than he had intended, or even needed to, Izuku's mistake was swift to dawn on him upon noticing that Barbara was no longer with him after having gave his Mom an answer. Gee, just how long was he thinking for? However, not only was he alone, but he was also... hopelessly lost.
He had no idea just how big the school was on the inside, as it now felt as if he was wandering around aimlessly throughout an endless and confusing maze. With his focus having been impaired to his surroundings at the time, Izuku had, like an absentminded dolt, lost track of where he was heading somewhere along the way. Now, he had no idea where he was! To make matters worse, the bell rung a few seconds ago. Which meant that he had very little time to make it to homeroom if he's to be marked as present.
"Damn it, just my luck to go and screw up like this. It seems I really earned the nickname 'Deku' this time. And right when I was beginning to think that things were looking up for me. Sorry, Babs.." Sounding as helpless as he felt, Izuku slouched as he trekked the halls in sorrow, whimpering like a lost child as little rivers of tears travelled down his freckles cheeks. Shame had all but consumed him. Stupid, stupid, stupid Deku! He thought of himself in frustration, giving himself mental hard bonks to the head. He wanted to ask someone to help him find his way, but seeing as every other student was already rushing to their own homeroom classes, he didn't want to keep them up. He doesn't know if he should consider that selflessness, or just downright foolishness. Eh, the latter option sounded about right.
'Crap! What am I going to do now?' He pondered in distress. 'I don't even know where I am in this place!'
He needn't fret for much longer, thankfully.
"Excuse me? Are you okay?" A soft feminine voice called out concerningly from behind him.
"Hmm?" Immediately, Izuku perked up with a light snivel, stopping his steps before turning around to face whomever it was that spoke. When he locked eyes with his worried savior, let's just say that he had a beautiful reason to stop crying, and smile right then and there. Although, the smiling part would have to wait as he first needed to blush... and gawk.
Standing before him was an incredibly attractive beauty who appeared to be his age, or around it. She had long and luscious bright blonde hair that reached down to her back, enchanting baby blue eyes that he couldn't help but lose himself in, a complexion that was free of any flaws, and soft lips that glistened with gloss. Over a white blouse that shielded her modest bust, she wore a purple sleeveless button up shirt and a pink skirt that flowed down her slender, but shapely, legs to just about reach her knees. Lastly, over her dainty feet, she had on a pair of white kitten heel shoes.
For a moment, because of Izuku's flustered staring, the kind blonde looked a tad uncomfortable as she held the textbooks she was carrying a little tighter to her chest. However, there was some confidence to be gained as she did notice the wild blush glowing over his expression. "Um, hello?" She called to him again, hoping that he'd snap out of it this time.
And snap out of it he did as Izuku promptly jump-started his brain with a quick shake of his head. Then, he finally responded, looking more embarrassed than awestruck this time around. "O-Oh, hello. S-Sorry about that. I was just uh... Um..." Ah, drat! Now he couldn't think up a good excuse to save himself from this humiliation. Sigh.. When it's not one thing, it's another.
Opting to tease the new kid a bit, the blonde girl put on a devilish smirk as she proceeded to say the first thing that came to mind to get him all riled up again. "Doing what? Enjoying the view?" She said playfully, giggling a second later upon earning herself a more... expressive bashful reaction.
"W-What?!" Izuku exclaimed, his blush and shy shock flaring up again upon being exposed. "No, I wasn't! I swear! Well, I-I mean, I didn't intend to do that, it just k-kinda-sorta happened, you know! I swear though, I meant no disrespect to you! So please, don't be upset with me!" While he freaked out for a bit longer, the blonde girl meanwhile had bursted into a fit of soft laughter, wiping a stray tear away when she settled.
While still amused, the girl felt slightly guilty upon how stressed out she had rendered the poor boy. So, she decided to remedy the situation before it got worse, after one last chuckle, of course. "No, no, no, it's fine. You're fine. No harm done." She stifled, smiling tenderly after taking a breath that calmed her completely. "If anyone here should be apologizing, it's me. Sorry, but when I see a good opportunity to tease someone, I just can't help myself but to take it. So, that's on me."
Glad that he was cleared of that charge, Izuku sighed with immense relief as the painful tension in his entire body had evaporated into nothingness. "Oh, thank goodness." He huffed, patting his chest a few times as he tried to catch his breath. "Wow, you really had me going there. For a second, I thought I had really offended you." He scoffed nervously.
After a final brief giggle, the blonde replied. "No, you didn't." She waved off his concern. "Trust me, compared to the dumb stares that I receive from other boys when I first meet them, your gaze was much more flattering, seeing as you've actually managed to keep it so focused on my eyes for the most part. So, thank you for that. I don't think I need to tell you now that a girl rather enjoys it when her eyes are noticed." She winked at him, that sly smirk of hers making a swift return for the moment. Which made a chill shoot up through Izuku's spine; a chill of the thrilling variety.
"I'll uh... definitely keep that in mind." Izuku awkwardly smiled.
"Mmm, good boy." The blonde hummed. "Anyway, back to why I originally spoke to you before getting you all flushed, I asked if you were okay. Earlier, you appeared to be... distraught, to say the least." In order to protect the manly pride he had, she didn't bother mentioning the fact that he litterly cried rivers. "I couldn't just stand by and watch, so I thought maybe there was something I can do to help you, if you actually need it that is." Obviously, if she's familiar with the school, he did. With her offer now out there, she awaited his answer. Actually wait, before she completely forgets, introductions were in order first. "Oh, and by the way, I'm Felicia. Felicia Hardy." To seal the deal of their newly formed bond, after he unveiled his own name obviously, she reached out a hand for a formal shake. "May I know your name? Cutie." She casually flirted, giving the easily flustered boy another playful wink. "Or, would you rather I just work with that instead~" She grinned, hoping to get something of another rise out of him. She had no clue that her move would backfire on her.
Now, with Izuku being far more conscious and prepared than he was a minute ago, he refused to let Felicia's new form of 'teasing' get to him this time. However, a blush did manage to invade his innocent face again. Albeit, a faint one. Instead of going back to being the bumbling nerd he was earlier, Izuku ultimately steeled his nerves and gave the blonde a taste of her own medicine, surprising her with a confident smirk as he took her hand gently. "Well, if you really want to, you can. But, only on the condition that I get to call you... Beauty." Ha! Take that! He thought as he gave Felicia's hand a soft shake, relishing in his payback. Oh, how sweet it was. It's at times like this where he's thankful for having been surrounded by girls for the majority of his life back in Musutafu. Otherwise, he'd never in a million years imagine himself acting in such a way towards any girl. Especially if it's just to mess with her.
As he had hoped, it was now Felicia's turn to blush furiously as she was very much unprepared for Izuku's own smooth talk, her eyes going wide with sudden shyness as she shook his hand. "E-Eh?" She dumbly exclaimed. Then, a puff of steam outlined her face momentarily after witnessing Izuku wink at her now. Huh, now why is he of all people making her clam up like this? This has never happened to her before. Heck, it's not like she wasn't hit on before. In fact, She'd been hit on plenty of times. By many of her male peers looking to 'wooh' her, but failing miserably to do so. Hmm, this boy was certainly something else it seemed.
Holding back a laugh, Izuku returned the favor and revealed his own identity, speaking in a more professional tone. "But in all seriousness, my name is Izuku Midoriya. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance... Felicia." Taking the final step of his little play, he raised her hand to give it a little kiss. A motion that now had Felicia agape. "I hope that wasn't too... daring of me by your standards. But, I feel that it's only appropriate that a kind maiden such as yourself receives a proper gentleman's greeting." With that, he released her hand after having delicately lowered it for her, his cocky smirk morphing into a pleasant smile.
The now diffident Felicia was quick to compose herself after that, clearing her throat as she attempted to shake off her redness, but only managed to do it slightly. "W-Well then, that is very generous of you to say, Izuku. If that's all it is, then I suppose I can gladly accept it." Not about to stir up trouble after a harmless gesture like that, as he'd actually gone and flattered her again, Felicia smiled back at him as she brought both arms to hold her books again, her blush lingering for a bit longer before disappearing.
"I'm glad to hear it." Izuku bowed his head for a moment. "As for your offer, I'd actually greatly appreciate the assistance. You see, today's my first day here at Metropolis High. And uh... as you can probably already imagine, I don't really know my way around here yet. Soo.. yeah, I'm completely lost here and could use some guidance." He said anxiously, hoping that his trouble wasn't too much for Felicia to bother with.
"Your first day, you say?" Said Felicia.
"That's right." Izuku confirmed.
"Hmm, I've never seen you around here last school year, so I had a hunch that was the problem. Now, normally, I'd be all for giving you a formal tour of the campus, but seeing as time is currently of the essence for us, it'll have to wait. So for now, I'll just have to help you get to your homeroom." Once again, she presented a palm to the green-haired teen. "Your schedule, if you'd please."
"Oh, of course. Hold on." Fulfilling her request, he dug into the pouch on his bag where he had hidden his schedule. Upon taking it out, he carefully unfolded the paper as to not wrinkle it up after having folded it so neatly earlier. "Here you go." He said as he handed it to Felicia.
"All right, let's see here.." Felicia mumbled, giving the sheet a quick scan before becoming pleasantly surprised when she noticed his first few classes. "Oh my.." She softly exclaimed.
"Is something the matter?" Izuku questioned worriedly.
"Oh no, nothing's the matter. It's just that, it appears that me and you share the same morning classes." Felicia then smiled as she returned the schedule to Izuku, who took it back and put it away after folding it up again. "Excellent! This way, I'll be able to show you around the school a bit while we move around between classes. Well, until lunch that is. After that, we'd have no choice but to part ways."
Wow, another lucky coincidence! Izuku thought excitedly as he flashed his new friend a jubilant grin. "It's fine, really. Half a day of guidance is much better than none at all. So you won't be hearing any complaints from me." He gleefully admitted.
"Hehe!" Felicia chuckled. "That's the spirit." She remarked. She then turned around and began walking in the direction Izuku was coming from earlier, helping him realize that he was heading the wrong way all this time and trying to lead him in the true direction of their first class together. "Come along now, Izuku. I think we're just about late enough." She said humorously without turning back and still walking, the clicking of her heels echoing throughout the now empty hallway.
"R-Right! Coming!" The webslinger responded, collecting himself and moving to follow Felicia.
His second helpful friend of the day.
A/N:Next chapter, released! Now, I think Felicia's introduction to the story deserved a chapter all on its own, don't you think? She did to me. XD
