Ladybug and Chat Noir were out doing an early morning patrol when Chat noticed something strange. He said he thought he saw something blue run by in the corner of his eye. They hadn't seen any Akumas yet today so maybe this was a new one. Both of them turned around and started in the direction that Chat saw the blue thing go.
They searched for a couple minutes until they saw him. There was a boy sitting on the edge of a roof. He was wearing a blue suit and had raven-colored hair. They were about five rooftops away from the boy. "Who's that?" Chat asked, his ears perking up.
"I don't know." Ladybug put her hand on her chin as she studied him closely from afar. "It might be a new Akuma?"
"Well then, let's go find out." Chat Noir said. He grabbed onto his staff and was about to start pole vaulting over there when Ladybug grabbed onto his tail yanking him back. He tilted his head looking back at her with his green slit eyes.
She walked slightly closer to the edge of the roof next to the black-clad superhero. "We need to be careful Chat, it could be a trap set by Hawkmoth." She warned, narrowing her eyes at the boy on the roof.
"When have I not been careful, M'lady," Chat asked playfully. Ladybug groaned as Chat jumped off the roof, using his pole to volt over to the next one.
Chat narrowed his eyes when one of the boy's ears twitched, he must have heard them coming. The boy quickly got to his feet and stepped back to the edge of the rooftop eyeing them wearily as they landed on the rooftop. The boy had put his hand above a dagger of some kind on his hip.
But the weirdest thing about him was he looked like he was wearing a miraculous suit. This could be another Volpina situation, would Hawkmoth use the same trick twice? Or could master Fu have given out another miraculous? "Who are you?" Ladybug asked. Both she and her partner were tense.
The boy stayed silent for a second. Just looking back and forth between them with his piercing yellow eyes.
Danny's ear flicked nervously as he tried to survey the situation. He was ready to fight at any second if need be, he just hoped that these guys were good guys like him. Maybe clockwork gave them a miraculous too?
When she asked her question Danny had to think quickly. Name, name, name… He couldn't use his own name for a superhero. That is if that was what Danny was. He paused for a second thinking. "...I'm, Riptide." He took a step to the side cautiously. "But I could ask the same of you."
They looked at him with surprise for a second. "How do you not know who we are?" Chat Noir asked. Danny only shrugged slightly in response. "Ladybug and Chat Noir. Superheroes of Paris. Ringing any bells?"
"Can't say it is sorry," Danny smirked. "But I'm new."
"Is that a miraculous?" Ladybug asked with narrowed eyes pointing at the tooth on Danny's chest.
Danny narrowed his eyes back at her. "It's the shark miraculous. But I am assuming there are more of them, seeing as you both have some as well?"
Chat noir walked forwards slightly spinning his now shortened staff in between his fingers. Causing Danny to tense. "I didn't know there was a shark miraculous." He leaned in closer to Danny. "Nice teeth." Chat commented with a grin.
Danny smirked. "Nice bell." He retorted.
Chat mock gasped and leaned back towards Ladybug. "I like this one, can we keep him?" He asked jokingly.
Danny chuckled, now taking his hand slightly from his dagger, trying to show them he was not a threat. He could tell so far that they weren't lying to him, he could hear their heartbeats, pretty useful when talking to humans.
He didn't normally listen in to tell if people were lying. He only used that when he was in a high-stress situation like this, where he needed to know if the people he was talking to were bad or not.
He could tell that Ladybug was much tenser than Chat Noir was right then. She definitely didn't trust him. Chat seemed more interested in Danny than weary.
Ladybug's mind was reeling looking 'Riptide' up and down a couple more times. Chat was right, there is no shark miraculous. At Least not in this miracle box. And master Fu said that all of the other ones were destroyed. This must be an Akuma right?
"Who gave it to you?" She asked, trying to sound like she was trusting of him. But Danny didn't buy that one bit.
"An old friend of mine."
Chat Noir tilted his head. "The Guardian?"
"I guess he's kinda a guardian." Danny shrugged. He was trying to make himself seem that he was harmless, when in fact he was using a stance that made him almost ready for anything.
Ladybug leaned forward and grabbed onto Chat noir's wrist, trying to pull him back. "Chat I thin-." She was suddenly cut off by the sound of an explosion a couple of blocks away. Both Chat and Danny's ears perked up and everyone turned around to see smoke coming up.
All three teens looked between each other before leaping off the roof across to the next one in the direction of the explosion. All three of them ran across the roofs up to the scene, quickly ducking behind a wall. Chat jumped up on top of the wall in a crouch while Riptide and Ladybug looked around the corners of the wall at the chaos.
Ladybug narrowed his eyes at Riptide for a second, before turning to focus on the immediate danger.
It was a large creature made out of stone with bright yellow glowing eyes, it was flipping over cars and crashing into buildings. Danny quickly noticed that every time it got hit it grew slightly, the stronger the hit the bigger it grew. "It's Stoneheart.'' Ladybug said, looking between the two heroes.
"What could have happened to Ivan this time?" Chat asked.
"We will have to find out later. Right now we just need to capture the Akuma before he hurts anyone." Ladybug said.
Riptide tilted his head. "Akuma?"
Chat jumped down leaning on the wall next to Danny. "Quick rundown of Miraculous heroes 101. Hawkmoth is the bad guy, and he has a miraculous just like us. He uses akumas to make people who are feeling down on themselves into supervillains that he can manipulate. They don't really have control of what they do so don't hurt them too badly." He did finger guns towards Danny.
Ladybug was wondering if they should be telling this to Riptide. I guess he isn't doing any damage yet, but he hasn't even said his inventions yet. It could still be a trap. She is definitely going to have to talk to master Fu about this as soon as possible. But right now they should explain some things in case he does something dumb that gets people killed.
"Last time the Akuma was in his fist." Ladybug explained pointing to Stoneheart's hand. "I think it's the same here. See his right fist is closed." She clenched her fist. "Break that and I can purify the Akuma."
"It also looks like he gets bigger with major hits. Like he gains energy from them." Danny pointed out. "So I am assuming we should stay away from physical attacks at first."
Ladybug's eyes widened for a second. How did he figure that out so soon? "Okay, let's do this. Let's see what you got Shark boy." Chat noir commented.
Riptide crossed his arms with a smirk on his face. "Probably more than you, Whiskers."
Chat noir smiled before leaping off the building. "In your dreams." Danny chuckled before following right after him.
Ladybug facepalmed. "Boys." She muttered.
Both Chat and Riptide first ran towards two cars that were next to each other, one blue and the other brown. Chat Noir placed his staff underneath the car and extended it to lift the car up to pull out a man that was stuck underneath it.
Riptide pulled out his Dagger and used it to slice across the hinges of the bashed-up brown car door, the car was laying on its side. He was surprised at how clean it cut. But then again it was a magic knife given to him by a tiny flying shark so who was he to judge.
He then grabbed onto the door handle, before ripping the door off completely. He threw the car door to the side and reached in pulling out a woman who was trapped in the driver's seat. Normally he would just phase into the car and pull her out with no problems, but he can't use his powers anymore, not unless absolutely necessary.
As soon as the civilians were safe both Riptide and Chat Noir started running down the road following the chaos left behind by Stoneheart. Riptide's ears twitched as he started to hear Stoneheart talk to himself. He sounded sad. "I'm sorry Mylene." Mylene? Was that the girl Danny had run into earlier in the day?
Ladybug wrapped her yoyo around his stone fist just as it was about to slam down on an abandoned police car. She threw it up and hooked it on a light post using it as leverage to stop it from hitting the car. Riptide and Chat Noir ran and stood on either side of Ladybug looking up and Stone heart.
Stone heart turned to look at the three heroes. His eyes settled on Riptide for a second before a purple butterfly outline appeared on his face just in front of his eyes. Riptide raised an eyebrow as Stoneheart seemed to freeze in place like he was listening to something.

Hawkmoth's eyes widened as he looked through Stoneheart's vision. "What's this? Another miraculous?" He questioned. "So the guardian is picking some new little heroes to help. Perfect…" He said darkly. "Stoneheart grab that new hero, I want his miraculous too," Hawkmoth commanded.

Stoneheart quickly pulled back at the string on his wrist causing Ladybug to be pulled into the air. He then lunged at the new hero trying to grab onto him. But he stepped back just in time, right before jumping up and running along Stoneheart's arm up to his shoulder.
Ladybug quickly recalled her yoyo before running forward to try and wrap it around Stoneheart's legs, he was distracted trying to grab onto Riptide who was running along his shoulders dodging every time he tried to grab him.
Chat Noir then jumped forward standing just in front of Stoneheart before extending his staff. His staff went straight up into his chin, causing him to stumble backwards. Because of Ladybug's yoyo tying his feet together he tripped and crashed onto his back just as Riptide jumped off.
When he fell back his fist was opened slightly. Inside was a dark purple bracelet. The bracelet looked like it was made out of beads and it also looked like it was broken. Chat Noir lunged for it only for Stoneheart to grab him with his other hand before clenching his other fist again. "I just want to fix it!" Stoneheart yelled.
Chat Noir's staff rolled across the ground as it fell out of his hand. Chat struggled in his grip, managing to get his cataclysm hand free.
-"Grab his miraculous!" Hawkmoth yelled in Stoneheart's head.-
Riptide ran over, reaching down and picking up Chat's staff. "Hey over here!" He called out. Causing Stoneheart to turn and look at him. He quickly threw the staff towards Chat Noir and started running in the other direction. Stoneheart narrowed his eyes and growled. Only noticing that Chat managed to catch the staff a moment too late.
Chat noir held onto the staff and pried it between Stoneheart's fingers before lengthening it. Effectively prying his hand open, Chat fell to the ground and did a barrel roll to catch himself. He ran just far enough away that Stoneheart couldn't immediately grab him again. He was now standing next to Danny again. Both were in a battle stance.
"Thanks, Riptide. Things were getting a bit tight." Chat Noir commented as he loosened his collar with his finger. He then spun around to look at Ladybug who backed up closer to them, she was spinning her yoyo around like a shield. "M'lady, I think we should start on a plan."
"I know I'm working on it." She called back. Everyone jumped back trying to avoid Stoneheart's giant fist as it smashed into the road directly in front of them. Suddenly Danny noticed that there was a girl standing just behind Stoneheart holding her phone out… Filming!?
What is she doing? She could be seriously hurt! Suddenly Stoneheart turned around and noticed her, he was just about to bring his fist down on her before Riptide ran across the road and skidded under his fist grabbing onto the girl and pulling her out of the way just in time.
He picked her up and ran her around the corner. She started speaking in a rush. "Oh, my gosh! You just saved me. Thank you. Oh, are you working with Ladybug and Chat Noir now? Are you a new superhero? Are you going to stay around this time or are you going to be brought in every couple fights like Rena Ruge and Carapace?"
Danny put her down against the wall. "More importantly why were you out there?! You could have gotten killed!"
"I was filming for the Ladyblog!" She held up her phone. "Maybe I shouldn't have gotten so close." She chuckled nervously. "Oh! What's your name? You know for the blog." Danny looked out the corner of his eye at Ladybug and Chat Noir running around dodging hits from the stone giant.
Danny started to turn away. "If it will make you stop asking questions, it's Riptide." He called out as he ran away. "And stay put!"
Just as he rounded the corner again he saw a bright flash of red and white light as Ladybug called out. "Lucky Charm!"

Thanks so much for all of your comments on the previous chapters. They are so amazing thank you! They make me so happy every time I read them. :D
I know having them meet this early is a bit weird, but I have a plan for this. The plot of my story revolves around them meeting him early. But it certainly seems that Ladybug does not trust him yet. This story has a whole thing planned out trust me. They are not just going to be all buddy-buddy after the first time they meet. Of course, they are going to have some trust issues. They are just fighting with him because there are people's lives at stake right now.
This story will probably end up having maybe 60,000-80,000 words by the end. It will be well thought out and have conflict, angst, fluff, drama, and maybe a more interesting love 'whatever it is they have going on.' lol. Please just continue reading and give this story a chance.
